Each time I have had to bring one of my beloved canines to Veterinary Emergency Services, Dr. Carr and all of the staff have been extremely helpful to me and have treated my "canine kid" with the utmost care and compassion. When people must take their pets to an emergency veterinary clinic, it is usually a situation in which the animal is very ill or has sustained some type of traumatic injury. Under these circumstances, it is difficult for the human caregiver to make life and death decisions for their beloved pet, while the caregiver is under this extreme emotional stress. Dr. Carr has always pointed out my options in a realistic and compassionate manner. I had to bring my cat there 3 years ago when he was very sick, and I will never forget the kindness and compassion the lady showed not only me but to my cat. She kissed him on the head two different times and I will just never forget that. Last week, I had to bring my cat there again because he was in complete distress. He ended up having massive heart failure and had to be put to sleep. I was distraught and the two ladies helping were so genuinely kind and did everything they could to make the upsetting process as comforting as possible. I went back last night to pick up my cat's remains, and I was able to thank them for these things. I was emotional and cried, and even then I could tell how genuinely sincere they were to me/my loss. I brought my 2 year old dog in around 1:00 in the morning and even thought it was the crack of dawn everyone was still very friendly to me and took great care of my terrified dog that I had only adopted a couple of weeks prior. Additionally, they didn't try to upscale the problem and get me to spend more money than necessary, and considering my young age that was very refreshing. Doctors: FIVE STARS The doctor I met with was super helpful, and incredibly compassionate. She answered all of my questions and was very thorough. I thanked her repeatedly for being so loving towards my dog. She stitched her up and took great care of her. HOWEVER... Nurses: THREE STARS I took my dog in because she was bitten by my roommates dog, and her ear was ripped and needed stitches. The reason I'm giving only three stars here is because the younger nurse I spoke to after was very insensitive and rude. After my pup had woken up from the anesthesia she tried to put a leash on her, and as any pup would be, my dog was scared. She had just been taken away from me, put under, stitched up all after being attacked in her home and injured. The nurse held the door open so she could see me but not come out which freaked her out more and then said to me: "with this behavior it's no wonder she got bit." I WAS SO ANGRY. How rude. not to mention she had no idea what had happened at our house to make one attacked mine. In my eyes someone working in a place where pet owners are worried enough to bring them into an emergency services, you should probably be more compassionate than she was.Read Less

Unfortunately...one star rating is one to many in my opinion! This place is a joke. The people are not very friendly and the vets try to get every possible service they can from you! We ve taken our dog there in the past for a bladder problem and they gave her the wrong meds, and the wrong dosage! My big do has been having hip issues for the past year and last nite (Saturday) he had me up night yelping in pain. Since our regular vet isn t open on weekends, I called them to see how much baby aspirin I could give her. They would not give me ANY info unless I brought her in and was very unfriendly on the phone. Called NAMC and they helped me right off the bat! NEVER TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE! BTW, they charge you an arm and leg for, in my opinion, substandard care. Read Less

BTW, they charge you an arm and leg for, in my opinion, substandard care. Read Less
