I've been taking my pets to Dr. Walter for 25 years...she's seen all of my four-legged family members and always takes a personal interest. She provides basic well-care as well as spay & neuter services. Her prices are the best; she definitely tries to make veterinary care as affordable as possible so people can take care of their pets. Her office is small and gets busy; if this is a turn-off then you'll be happier going elsewhere. (But you'll pay a lot more too). If you just need to pick up food or meds, going in the middle of the day is the best way to avoid the rush of the crowd. (Drop-offs & pick-ups for surgeries are in the mornings & afternoons, respectively). Also, January thru March are busy because of Omaha pet licensing and the requirement for rabies vaccinations. Amazing care, but very frustrating.See Below): The Pros: - Very Affordable - Vets are extremely nice and take really good care of the animals. - Friendly, my dog doesn't get anxiety when we bring her here, and the techs remember you. - I can not stress enough how much they care for your animals and give exceptional care. The Cons: -Outdated system - They still use a giant calendar on the desk meaning only one person can actually schedule appointments. If they lose the book you're screwed. The phone system is ancient and often jams up preventing you from calling in. Also pick and drop off for any surgery is a nightmare. Be prepared to wait at least 40-60 minutes for both check in and pick up. - The main reception area is tiny, meaning you are literally on top of other humans and animals so you end up standing outside and praying they remember to check that you're there. - They always seem to run behind. My dog tested positive for heartworms and they compromised her health by going ahead with the surgery. I waited over 2 hours for my dog, during which I saw people filter into and out of the "surgery" room ( not people actively involved in the surgery process, legitimately someone who walked in from outside went in to talk to the surgeon and drop off something and left). The glimpses I caught of the surgery room left me wondering how sterile and clean could it possibly be? Not very. I took her to my regular vet who was surprised and upset that they did the surgery when they knew she had heartworms. Clearly it was about money and not the well-being of my pet. I would not recommend them and won't be going back.Read Less

Used this clinic for spaying feral cats and kittens. Have even used them in the past for my own fur babies. Though the waiting area and parking is small. You are in and out in little time..never have had an issue with service or cost. In fact today I had one feral cat that was scheduled for early morning spot and did not realize we had trapped one of the babies. I called and had no problem getting the baby in too. Now tell me how many other vets would make that arrangement for you. This clinic goes above and beyond with service and courtesy..I would recommend this to anyone. All vets offices have animal hair all over in the waiting room. It's an animal clinic. If you want a fancy rude over charged place there are tons of them. If you want a place where they understand these are ur fur babies and they are important. THIS IS THE BEST OF THE BEST. Small office maybe. But they do the best job for a great cost. Read Less

This was my first visit and I live right up the stretch. My little guy Rufus is our best friend and the light of our lives. I took him in for an updated rabies and annual vaccination. I must say that despite the tight space the ladies and gentlemen of this facility are doing an amazing and professional job.  It was late Friday afternoon and there were a lot of late post -surgical pickups. Everyone was processed quickly, kindly and efficiently. Dr. Stolze is the most kind, calm, gentle, competent veterinarian it has ever been my pleasure to interact with. I am not saying that I've met any ogres, but this gentleman is in a class by himself. His deft hands and smooth technique-it was like watching and participating in a ballet. I am sure this is as much for the benefit of the pet parents as the patients themselves, and it works.  I just have to say for any people who may be put off by the tiny space or the location that the good people there are not spending money on more real estate or fancy facilities for YOUR comfort. They are keeping the prices low so that you can get good quality care for your pet regardless of your financial situation.Rufus has a new little sister who will be due for her last round of injections and spaying in three weeks. She will definitely be meeting the fine folks here. Read Less

This is a great little clinic where you can get your pet spayed, neutered, or declawed, and it's a good place to go for regular checkups and vaccinations.   I've been taking my cat here for years.  He was neutered and declawed at this clinic.  I was pleased with the surgeries and follow-ups.  He's also gotten all his vaccinations and treatments for minor ailments such as ear mites here.It is the cheapest place in town for no-nonsense veterinary medicine.  This isn't one of those fancy schmancy West-O pet boutiques.  This is a plain Jane practice with two vets.  One primarily deals with cats, the other with dogs.  They really care about what they are doing and realize that not everyone can afford outrageous prices for simple procedures. It's generally easy to get an appointment here, and the hours are decent.  This isn't a place I'd take my pet if he needed a complex workup, but it's great for routine care.  I'll be moving out of town soon, and I only hope I can find another clinic as reasonable as this one! My dog was neutered here. I asked around and called literally every vet in town for prices, and these people, since spaying and neutering is the majority of what they do, gave a reasonable price and my good friends' family, who foster lots of dogs, said they wouldn't take theirs anywhere else. They did an excellent job with my Beagle, and when he decided to rip out his stiches running (he likes to chase squirrels), they gave us excellent follow up care. Low prices, caring staff, and yes, they may try to sell some heartworm, but thats because they see dogs constantly who are left untreated and develop problems. I'd recommend them. Read Less

Been taking my dog here for last 7 years to get his shots and checkups, used to have a great male vet come in and do a awesome service, Seems things have shifted, Last visit my dog needed his rabies shot, heart worm check and nails clipped, basic visit, Started out with a rude female vet who has seen better days in terms of age, asking if we are interested in heart worm medicine, We told her we get it off a web site and we have plenty left, she took my pets weight and blood sample, stated she would be right back rudely like we just killed her commission. She finally returned 15 minutes later to only state they would give us the medicine for a dollar cheaper, What part of NO didn't this lady understand?  Needless to say after waiting 15minutes for her to research prices and sell me I was quite pissed off. I asked for the rest of my services to be completed so we could finish our visit, she forgot to clip his nails I had to remind her, sadly 5 days later my dog had a broken nail on his foot right by the toe portion, I call them and ask if he should come in and what happened before this incident, they totally ignored it and stated he should be fine in a few days, and hung up.Basically since I am not a pharmaceutical buyer from them seems we are getting brushed off, sad my dog suffered all weekend until I could get him in last Monday to another vet and have the broken nail properly removed. He stated there is no way they clipped his nails, unless they grew 1/2 inch in a week. I used to get great service here, but seems with the economy in the hole , people are forgetting about service with a smile, unless you are injecting money into the bottom line. Read Less

Been going here for years with multiple dogs. Even after I moved out west they are still much better than other options. Especially from a cost perspective.

It's a tiny office, circa 1970, but the staff is amazingly thorough and friendly. I have taken many animals there and never had a single problem. I would go there for all my pet needs if it was a more convenient location. But I have nothing to say badly about them...they will get you right in for an appointment, and it's busy at check in and check out time, so plan to go a little early or a little later than the suggested times.

Read Less

I used to work at this clinic and I can honestly say there are no two vets anywhere that care more about pets than Dr. Stolze and Dr. Walter. Believe me, they see it ALL and still keep prices affordable so people can acutally care properly for their pets. I use them for all routine care and for spay and neuter of my rescue dogs as well. They do not do radiology or emergency medicine. Don't be angry that they do not provide these services, it keeps their costs low. Thanks to ASNC for all you do for the Omaha community!!

Read Less
