Ashley said Buttercup did great during her stay. I didn't have any worries since she was in good hands at her vet for boarding while I was in Mexico. The rate was cheaper than other pet boarding options. And she got better attention and care than she would have elsewhere. We went to 3 different vet clinics before finding and falling in love with Chalco Hills Animal Hospital.  Heather is so incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and polite. We had trouble finding the right vet because every one we went to pushed a certain food that they sold out of their clinic even though I stressed I was keeping my dog on a grain free diet due to an allergy. Heather completely respected my decision and never once tried to sell us on a product.  She is very thorough in her examinations and always makes sure we leave with a full understanding of what she recommends. She doesn't hesitate to stick around to answer questions and she does truly care about the wellbeing of her clients. Over the years of having pets and living in different cities and parts of Omaha, this is by far my favorite Veterinarian EVER!  So friendly, easy to talk to about concerns and not pushy regarding the sales of their in-house products or add-ons.  The facility is always clean and my dog, who hates pretty much everyone, lets the Vet handle him.  Highly recommended! I have had many vets, that goes with the territory of having several dogs (5) at home and helping to rescue dogs. I can tell you from my experience that Dr. Kreager by far the greatest veterinarian, compassionate, kind and understanding. My wife and I had adopted an older dog we named Delilah that ended up very ill shortly after adopting her. Discussing the tests and options, we had some very tough decisions to make that led to us putting her to sleep. Dr. Kreager and her staff stayed late so we could let her pass with dignity and were so kind afterwards. Most recently our Australian Cattledog mix "Bert" ate a bunch of roast wraps. Out of fear and worry, we called in the morning, Dr. Kreager answered the phone immediately and suggested we watch and wait and everything came out all right in the end (pun intended). I never had high expectations of the relationship with my veterinarian and their staff based on past experiences, however; Chalco Hills will definitely change your mind.Read Less

We were clueless what was wrong with our foster pug of 2 days from a puppy mill. Found out she was having a miscarriage. Hard to believe after just having puppies. Such a great Dr and staff, they treated her as a human female mother in labor. Asking us to call or they would call us and see how she was doing. Thank you for your professionalism. I've been trying to find a good vet closer to home. Well today I took my 10.5 yr old Pug, Miss Bella in for her first visit to Chalco Hills. It's only 1.5 miles away. I'm happy to say we found a new vet! I was so impressed with Dr. Heather Kreager and her vet tech Ashley. They spent an hour with us! We came up with a good treatment plan for Bella's aging body and arthritis. I felt as though Bella was the only dog on earth for that hour. Everything you can ask for in a veterinarian clinic. A clean, personable, knowledgeable, caring, and all around happy place. My dogs were even at ease when, like most dogs, have high anxiety with veterinarian visits. Dr. Kreiger and her tech, Ashli, took the time and went above and beyond to assess, diagnose, treat, and thoroughly explain the eye issue that was afflicting one of my dogs.  I even walked out with some great, new preventative products I had no idea even existed until Ashli, their vet tech, educated me about them.  Added bonus, if you're as forgetful as I am, they have automatic email and text reminders which make it easy to remember appointments.  Can't say enough great things about this wonderful clinic and awesome experience!  Side note: My boyfriend has also taken his cat to this clinic and had an equally positive response! My 18-year-old cat became ill and, being new to this area, I searched for a vet close by with good reviews. I can say now that Chalco Hills Animal Hospital is one of the best vets I've been to, and I have had animals all my life in various states, so I have had many experiences with those that fall short. I brought my cat to Dr. Kreager and she took her time to examine him. Her tech, Ashley, was also very concerned and very attentive. After bloodwork determined he was borderline fatally anemic, she offered me several options and took the time to explain the possible causes and treatments. Because he was so old, I opted to take him home with some steroids, in case the cause was autoimmune. This was on a Thursday. On Friday, Ashley called to check on us, and when I said that I was pretty concerned because he wouldn't eat, she gave me advice on how to make a paste to feed him. Sadly, even the food did not give him his strength back and by Friday night he had grown so feeble he could not walk, yet he fought on. On Saturday morning, I called and left a voicemail- it was a Saturday that the hospital was not open, but they had told me calls would be answered. Within minutes, Dr. Kreager called me back. She came to the hospital for us, and she helped my cat go with peace and dignity. I am SO grateful for Dr. Kreager and Ashley. Together they helped assure me that I had done what I could, and when I came to a decision, the doctor came to our aid instead of making me go to the emergency clinic. My last moments with my cat were in private, and he left the world with dignity. I have two other cats and I plan to take them in to see Dr. Kreager soon. I highly recommend her and the hospital.
