When my Balinese was diagnosed with kidney disease Dr. B found someone who could help me offset the cost of the topical experimental drug. He gave me 3 additional wonderful healthy years with my cat. Dr. Busselman is the ONLY vet I can truly trust- unfortunately he’s normally busy or booked so I can easily say I will NEVER be back here again! We have three bulldogs (aka we spend a lot of money here) and last year one of the vets misdiagnosed our dog saying she had torn her ACL and will most likely need a $3500 surgery- without even showing us her XRays. Took her to another very trusted vet that told us its only early signs of hip displasia and told us no way it was diagno...sed from an xray like they had told us. One of our pups broke one of her nails lastnight- wasn’t severe enough to bring her to the emergency room. Brought her into Fort Street first thing this morning- was the second customer in. I explained I didn’t have an appointment but if they could just look at it to see the severity & see if all we had to do was clip it that’d be great! I was told they wouldn’t even be able to look at it until 10 or 11 because “ they only had two doctors in for the day”.... mind you the first customer and I were the only people in there. (which I understand I didn’t have an appointment but let’s be honest it would have taken the vet 30 seconds to tell me if it’s able to just be clipped or if there is more to it/sedation needed for the pain of the clipping). We went home and surprisingly I was able to eventually get the nail off my dang self which is great- but like I said; would’ve taken them a few minutes just to look at it. I have easily told everyone I know about the horrible customer service & lack of care! I wouldn’t have drove to the Vet if I didn’t want an opinion on what to do. I came to Fort Street today after my cat almost died last week and was not comfortable with her current treatment at another clinic. I've seen Dr. Tordrup in the past and trust her 100% with the health and wellness of my pets. Today I saw Dr. Banks and she's absolutely phenomenal. My cat is not the nicest at the vet, so was prescribed a "calmer downer" berfore her visit to help her relax without heavy sedation. I got good news about my cat today and Dr. Banks was very thorough, discussed all my options and put my mind and ease going into the holiday weekend. Plus the bill was less than I expected! I agree with the previous review, I took my dogs here because of the excellent reviews. Our first visit with our new dog went well, it took awhile to check out but it was no problem. Dr. Bussleman and the nurses were great. This was the second time I have come here with my new dog. First of all, there was no need for the front desk staff and checkout staff to be so rude. They were incredibly terse. This time we saw Dr. Banks and the nurses , who were again, very kind and professional. I also agree the prices are outrageous, they do try to charge for things you don't need. I was overcharged twice and when I checked out today I asked about these credits and the lady checking me out was dumbfounded. After that, she kept rolling her eyes and muttering under her breath. Luckily, Josie came over and took less than 10 seconds to find the information. The lady checking me out also had issues trying to login to her system, and rather than apologizing to me for it, she kept glaring at her computer silently. She must have been having a bad day. I also would not recommend to take your pets here, there are plenty of other options in Omaha. The 4+ stars are misleading. Read Less

I would highly recommend NOT going to Fort Street Vet to visit Dr. Bussleman. He was extremely rude, inconsiderate of my feelings, gave short explanations, and did not seem interested in the care of my animal whatsoever. He also lied about the treatment plan, saying that I had two weeks to decide how I would like to proceed with the care of my dog. He did not give me these two week and instead called the Humane Society to report that our dog is being mistreated, when he realized we weren’t going to pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for treatment of our 12 year old dog. This is not the level of care that I anticipated prior to bringing my dog here. I will NEVER return to Dr. Bussleman, and I suggest you do the same. Read Less

This clinic is the worst I have ever been to. Fort Street Vet has excellent reviews, which is why I decided to take my pets there for care. My experience at first was positive when we were seeing Dr. Rogers, though it was very expensive. When she left, they did not inform me that she was no longer there and switched my care provider. My experience since has been horrible. The staff and Vets are not friendly and their prices are outrageous, they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. The point at which I decided not to go back was when I was sitting in the exam room waiting for my pet to be seen, while listening to the staff talk very rudely and unprofessionally about my pet and I in the back room. Which is separated by a very thin door and in clear ear shot. Then they proceeded to bill me for things I clearly heard them say my pet didn't need. I left humiliated and very upset. My black lab was gaining weight no matter how much I cut back on his food. I took him to 3 vets who all said "ah he's just fat, try feeding him less". Finally I brought him in to Fort St Vet to see Dr. Rogers for a limp he had developed. She immediately noted his weight, calculated his caloric intake (something nobody else did) and suggested we check his thyroid. 1 month later he is on a thyroid medication that has him feeling and looking much better. Dr. Rogers has also emailed me personally, even on a weekend to check in with me and save me a visit fee. When my wife and I moved from out of state a little over 2 years ago one of the things we worried about was finding a vet we liked as much as the one we left behind. Our 8 year old boxer is set in her ways and there are certain things that have to be done when taking her to the vet. They are not major issues but it can be stressful to ask a new vet to help with those things. All the doctor's and staff at Fort Street Vet have been nothing but helpful, kind and understanding. Living in a BSL city, it isn't easy to find and trust places where breed ignorance isn't rampant. But we are so so happy we found this vet. I found Dr. Kara Rogers after googling pit bull friendly veterinarians in the Omaha area -- couldn't be happier! She is just so caring and loving and really took the time to sit down (on the ground even : )) with us, be so genuine and honest, get to know you and your dog. I've never met a vet that was so lovely and we at no time felt clinical, or rushed, or our concerns brushed aside or questions or worries ignored. Her knowledge and diagnosis is always superb. Our dog had a serious medical issue while traveling. We contacted a family member who lives in Omaha for a vet recommendation. While driving from Denver to Omaha we called Fort Street Veterinarian. Friendly and understanding staff accommodated us with an appointment the morning following our arrival. Fort Street Veterinarian had the expertise and equipment necessary to diagnose our dog's condition and they sent samples for further lab testing. We continued our travels with medication and a treatment plan. Our dog made a remarkable turnaround and, a few months later, we brought him back to Omaha for a follow-up exam which indicated more treatment was needed. It worked! It's been several months and now we follow a maintenance plan. Today our dog's health is better than it has been for years! We give 100% credit, and thanks, to Fort Street Veterinarian and the caring, efficient staff. We are thankful for their ultrasound and imaging resources, and most expert DVMs . Hands-down the best vets I've had in decades. When I moved to Omaha this summer and my rottie developed some really bizarre symptoms, I was referred to Dr Tordrup. She did an amazing job getting him diagnosed, even reaching out to other specialists when his tests came back with strange and contradictory reports. She was able to correctly diagnose him & start treatment for a pretty rare disease when most vets would have given up and told me it was behavioral not physical. My rottie is a BIG boy who intimidates most people but the entire staff treated him like the big mush he is from day 1.Just as a function of having a lot of senior pets, we've had a couple emergencies and they've always been able to take care of us. When we unexpectedly had to put down our elderly cat, they went truly above and beyond to ease the situation for both her and us.If you're looking for a new vet, I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough. All of the vets are amazing and all of the staff are equally amazing.By some miracle, they also have very reasonable fees and Dr Tordrup really went above & beyond researching the most affordable ways to treat my big guy. They are very good with our Vizsla and with our terrier mix. This office is not at all like the big box stores where you feel pressured to buy anything. All options were presented to us when our Vizsla had a large mast cell tumor removed last year and we chose to go ahead with his surgery. This is an incredibly caring staff and doctors. We had a very ill Wheaton Terri or, who required extended hands on care. The doctor and staff instructed us on caring for our dog properly at home, and provided care for him while we needed to be at work. Appointments are timely and my pets are well cared for here. Dr. Tordrup is one of the best vets I've ever had and the entire staff is incredibly nice as well as genuinely loving animals. Dr Tordrup was recommended to me when my rottie developed an odd assortment of symptoms and she has been amazing at working through diagnostics, researching options, explaining pros/cons/costs, and even reaching out to other specialists when the most likely causes were quickly ruled out. My rottie is a big boy who intimidates most people (even animal professionals) but everyone there has treated him like the big mush he is from day one. When one of my cats had blood in her urine, Dr Tordrup squeezed us in the very next day so she could get treatment right away. Despite being an extremely busy practice, they are very careful in their scheduling and room shuffling to minimize the number of animals in the lobby at any one time which is great for pets who prefer not to interact with other animals. They are very reasonable in their prices, work hard to find affordable options (even researching coupons for drugs that are on the pricey side!), and don't throw on a bunch of extra charges like so many clinics do. I cannot recommend Dr Tordrup and the entire clinic highly enough and am so grateful that I found a vet this good so quickly after moving here!Read Less

While waiting to pick up my new puppy, I spent what felt like hours researching vets in the Omaha area. I knew that I wanted a clinic close to home with convenient hours, kind and patient staff and a place that came highly recommended. I stumbled upon Fort Street Veterinarian and I'm so glad I did! There is a reason this place is so highly rated and the definitely deserve it! The clinic is always spotless and pretty quiet considering all the animals they see on a daily basis. The staff is friendly and efficient, we never wait more than 5 mins in the waiting room. Their onsite pharmacy is a wonderful plus, we never have to wait on meds to be ordered or sent to a different pharmacy. The meds are ready when we are done in the exam room and priced reasonably. Dr Rogers is everything I wanted in a vet and more. She is so kind and patient with my Corgi who can be a little high strung. She takes her time with him and reassures him in a calm voice. She makes sure to answer all the questions and explains everything in great detail. I really appreciate that she takes the time out of her day to call me personally to check up on my pup. We will continue to see Dr Rogers because the quality of care we receive cannot be beat! Read Less

The staff and vets at this location are very polite and take great care of the animals. You walk in and you are always greeted with a smile and a hello. It makes you feel right at home. My dog, Molly, LOVES, Dr. Rogers. Dr. Rogers has taken great care of Molly over the years and I am grateful for that. If she tells you a story about the big dog that got attacked by the squirrel and the little dachshund that rescued her, that would be my Molly. :-) One thing that I have noticed with all the staff that is really neat is before touching/petting any of the dogs they always put their hand out, let the dog sniff their hand, and then will pet the dog. With Molly being older (12 years old) I have been doing laser therapy treatments for her. They seem to be working as this past weekend Molly was trying to eat things off the counter and she has never done that before. She is reverting back to being an ornery pup! Read Less

This is the best vet! I can't say enough about their caring nature and attentive attitude. They have been the best I could ask for in a vet! While their prices are a bit higher, you get what you pay for. They offer outstanding services that other vets choose not to offer or you have to ask for, if you know what to ask for. I have three pets that are seen at this clinic and because my pets are members of my family, I expect them to be treated as such. At a more 'cost efficient' vet, even after providing a medication list for my dog, he was prescribed a medication that could have been fatal in combination with what he was already on. Additionally, his issue was made worse rather than better. Fort Street has established baselines for all my pets so we KNOW if something is wrong and can address it with good knowledge. Fort Street treats your pets as family and extremely professionally. I understand I get what I pay for and I know the costs of pet ownership. Because I care, I choose Fort Street.Read Less

As far as I am concerned, there is no better vet in the area! The technicians here are knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We have two dogs that we have rescued, Molli and Bailey. Bailey the min pin is a bit of a nuisance barker, but they are always so patient and welcoming of her! So glad to have a staff that takes the anxiety out of going to the V-E-T. We would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Tordrup -- she is so relatable and really has the best interest of all of her furry patients at heart. Thank you, Fort Street! Have been here a few times with the new kitten. She had shots and spaying, all of which went perfectly. Dr. B personally called after the surgery to let me know our kitten was doing fine. He also called a day later as it was going into the weekend, just to make sure I didn't have any concerns as the weekend was approaching. They do a thorough job on exams and wil carefully check your pets teeth. My now 3-yr old cat had tartar already which I didn't know. They do have the Science Diet t/d for controlling tarter. They also have a feline toothbrush kit which I bought. Now my 10 yr old cat is getting his teeth brushed and I'll be getting toothbrushes for the other two as well. Dental disease is a biggie, so make sure your pets get a good exam for that once a year and try to maintain dental care.Wonderful and caring staff.
