Was referred by Petco to Goodrich Clinic for my rescue dog.  The dog is so badly matted that Petco said that his first groom needed to be at veterinary clinic.  Called Goodrich Clinic and explained the above.  Was told the earliest appt would be the end of June.  When I explained that dog is in immediate need, no response.  So I asked if they could recommend any place else.  They said all All About Dogs and then hung up on me.  Will NOT be taking any of my pets to this clinic.  Their customer service is abysmal. Dr. Garner is absolutely fantastic. She takes the time to listen and explain all details. She always makes us feel like we are her only customer. I have not seen her partner but have friends who have and they also say she has an excellent bedside manner. I have been using Goodrich for a little over a year for my dog. Never had an issue and they are usually very accommodating when emergencies have arisen. My dog is head first into walls stupid, but she absolutely loves going to this clinic and everybody that we have interacted with so far. The two current veterinarians, Dr. Garner and Dr. Mongan, purchased the clinic two years ago from Dr. Goodrich, so please keep that in mind when you read other reviews as only the ones less than two years have any pertinence on the current clinic. Not only does Goodrich go above and beyond for your pet, they'll do what they can to comfort you as well. One of their employees went out of her way to bring medicine to my place of work for my dog, and if that's not customer service I don't know what is! Their employees are kind and caring, and Dr. Mongan is talented with animals! She's smart and knows what she's doing, while maintaining a calm demeanor even with a scared pup. One of the best vet clinics I've visited. Caring staff and affordable prices. You can tell they really care about the animals- not just the money. One of the local rescue agencies, Homeward Bound, recommended this clinic to me, and I can definitely see why they use them. Will certainly be coming back. My dog however, was recently taken ill on the Sunday. Because Yorkied are so prone to dehydration- I took him to an emergency vet clinic. While they provided a good service, it was not like going to Goodrich and seeing Dr. Mongan or Dr Garner- The reason for this review is because the following day Dr. Mongan called me to inquire how Oliver was doing. She also let me know that I could have called her on Sunday if I had concerns. I have had a few vets in my life experience but NEVER any so caring as the vets in this office! Since Dr. Goodrich himself retired it isn't the same and the 2 ladies who took over aren't as in-tune with the animals as Dr. Goodrich was. I have been bringing my dogs here for over 10 years. Never during that time have I been turned away for vet care. The vet herself turned me away and told me to go to an ER vet clinic because she couldn't do anything for me besides take an X-ray. Once I got to the ER Vet after the recommendation from the vet at Goodrich, they baulked at me and asked "So they only took an x-Ray at Goodrichs and sent you here without any other testing?" Yes, exactly what happened. The new owners of Goodrich don't care about you and it was a lesson learned the hard way. There is nothing fun about going to the vet, but the work done here was great. Our cat had his leg amputated due to other medical problems, and the two vets that we worked with clearly cared a lot. We were really impressed by them, they were patient, answered our questions and were good about truly caring. We never had to wait long, and always were able to get in for important last-minute appointments. Our negative experiences were entirely with their staff. After a vet told us they would give a discount for paying for the surgery in cash, we were scoffed and laughed at (literally) when we mentioned it to the clerk upfront. It happened after the vet was gone for the day. We were told we made up the policy. Each time we picked up medicine (4 times in the last 2 months) the staff never gave us instructions, simply handed it over and we had to ask what to do with it (because 1 or two times the bottles were unmarked with any instructions). If we ever called with a routine question ( ex) time it takes for a cat to recover after a declaw) we were told that they were unsure. We had to specifically ask the staff if someone would find out (because they did not volunteer to find out). Twice after leaving from procedures we were not told if there should be a follow-up appointment, and had to call after returning home to find out we indeed need to set something up. We had great experiences when the vet picked up the phone directly, but the upfront staff left a terrible impression. Because the care of our pet is in the hands of the vet, we will likely go back. Dr Melissa is the best most caring vet. She helped us let go of our beagle Daisy and now is the "twins" new vet! We have two baby beagles now because my husband always wanted 2. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Read Less

Wasn't a huge fan of Dr. Goodrich and either were my animals. I almost left but then Dr. Garner started and she is amazing. My animals love her. With her, my dog doesn't need a muzzle when getting nails cut and my cat just purrs during visits. I can trust her judgement and opinions. I took my cat to a Vet that was closer to my home and their estimate for my cats surgery was expensive. Dr. Garner estimate was way less for the same if not better care.Read Less

Both Dr Mongan and Dr Gardner treat both pets and pet owners with such compassion. They are rescue friendly which is wonderful as well. I tend to be there very often as I have two of my own dogs and also do rescue foster care. They always know my pets and I by name. As new pet owners we didn't have a clue about where to take our sick cat. We chose this place simply because it was down the street from our home. The Vet called multiple times after our cats initial treatment to check her progress. I don't know how their rates compare to others, but the bill seemed very reasonable for the services they provided. Next time we will know exactly where to go!Read Less

My family have rescued two dogs in the past 3 years and are first time dog owners! Before adopting our first dog a bichon named Chester I contacted Dr. Melissa Garner for more information on the bichon breed and rescue dogs. She was patient and kind and walked me through the entire process. Of course, Dr. Garner was a natural choice for a vet. She has always been there for Chester and her expertise as a vet as kept Chester healthy and happy. When we adopted Candy this past June we wanted to take her with us on a family vacation to Canada. Candy is a Coton De Tulear and had no paper work as she came from a puppy mill. Dr. Garner again to the rescue, even though she was on vacation and wasn't in the office to help she hooked us up with Dr. Mongan. She did Candy's check up and health certificate so we could take Candy out of the country. She made sure that we were ready to go on time! Come to find out that she also had gone on a fishing trip to a nearby resort of the one we were going to. I would recommend these two fine ladies to any pet owner! From a customer service standpoint, he was even willing to meet us after hours to provide comfort care and euthanasia when our first dog was dying following an automobile accident. FIRST- HE Should have NO stars, but a rating is required... WORST experience with a vet EVER!! I took my animals here because they needed ongoing treatment that was quite pricey...I called around and their prices were reasonable. Well, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Charging low prices is the only way this jerk could stay in business!!! I had read reviews that the vet was a jerk, but I've dealt with people who have mental illness and I thought I can deal with this jerk if it would be cheaper, as long as he was good with my animals. He is more than a jerk, he is an as@#le. He's got major personality problems. He didn't care about my animals and even told me, ""Next time if you don't ask me anything, it'll be cheaper!"" in a disgusted tone. I went back for the maintenance meds and he was a complete jerk, beyond professional! By the time I left, he hadn't treated my animals and had me in tears and was still ""yelling"" at me! All this because I was ""wasting"" his time by asking questions!! I ended up walking out stating we would NEVER be back. He is a complete jerk. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET! My dog nearly lost his leg. Took my 11 month old dog to this vet for a broken leg and he just threw a cast on it. The X-ray showed that the bones were not even aligned. He said that the body has a miraculous way of healing itself. That is how he explainedd the bones would heal, basically by themselves. Took my animal to another vet for a second opinion and they said the bones would never heal with the way this vet treated his leg. He had to have surgery to fix his leg. When they removed the cast they also found that the cast was not properly padded and an ulcer had started to appear from the poor casting. Don't take your animal to this vet!!! Read Less
