The vets at Loveland have been very helpful. We trust our pets with them 100%. They're also affordable and have great knowledge about animals. Out of 4 cats and 1 dog, we have one cat with neurological issues, one cat with hyperthyroidism, and a dog with severe seasonal allergies and the vets at Loveland take really good care of them. I absolutely adore both Doctors and their staff. They went above and beyond to help our cancer stricken dog, Manny. When our previous vet told us our dog had ostiosarcoma and was untreatable, would be gone in a matter of weeks, and suffer because nothing could be done, we turned to Dr.Tom Calvert. He was able to extend Manny's life and give him quality life in the process. You can't put a price on time with the ones you love. When it came time to let Manny go, Dr. Cathy Calvert and the staff at Loveland had to utmost respect for Manny as well as my husband and I. They allowed us the time we needed to say our goodbyes and even covered Manny in a special blanket after we placed him in his casket (my parents made for him). The entire staff genuinely care about the entire family. We gladly make the 50 mile round trip drive if our other pets need to be seen.Read Less

I drive 20+ miles each way to have my dogs treated by Dr Cathy and her brother Tom Calvert. They are both realists, acting with gentleness when needed, balanced with straight out honesty. Both are great vets, but certain traits stand out in each. Dr. Cathy is an excellent diagnostician, she sees with her fingers. Dr. Tom is extremely creative in all aspects of veterinary medicine, and this creativeness pays off in so many ways. The vet techs there are also top notch, well educated, detail oriented, always willing to go the extra step. The entire team works together to serve both animal and their humans without striping your wallet or making you feel like an idiot. Even in sad times, their outpouring of compassion overflows. Our cat has a virus that is incurable and is given less than 2 weeks to live and he is not even 2 years old yet. We have given loveland hundreds of dollars for exams over the past few weeks. we have 2 little children that are really close to the cat and are not taking the impending death well. our whole family is upset. the cat started wheezing last night. You would think after spending hundreds of dollars that we could call and ask a question about it. The assistant could not have been ruder. "im not a vet. if you have an emergency, go to the emergency clinic" we are asking a question as we have a dying friend here that is a patient of yours. Having to switch veterinarians is so difficult, especially when you love the one you go to. I come from a military family and went to Offutt AFB clinic for years. Thankfully they recommended Loveland Animal Hospital, seeing as they accept military discount on vet visits; greatly appreciate it. I had to take my new cat that I found on the streets of Omaha - the previous owner abandoned him - to the animal hospital, because I knew something was wrong with his ears, but had no idea what. Upon arrival I walked right in and was greeted at the front desk. They had me fill out some basic information about my cat (make sure you have your cats microchip I.D. on hand so you can write it down on the paper work, having it recorded on file keeps you from finding your lost pet quicker). After I filled out all the necessary paper work the vet, Dr. Calvert came in and examined Ziek. She was very sweet and knew right away what he had. Ear mites. They were awful and so many inside his ears. She said that he probably could hear them moving around in his ears which was causing him to be super agitated. When I first found him I didn't really know how his personality was...until a few weeks after I'd had him a while and realized something was wrong. It's unknown how long he was on the streets for so he could of had them for months. Dr. Calvert explained all of this to me and even went as far as asking if I would like to see what they looked like under a microscope. Of course my curiosity was peaked to see what the little buggers inside my cats ears looked like. She took me back into another room with the microscope and showed me the difference between adult ear mites and younger ones. She said once you get both sexes involved they multiply like crazy! The younger ones move super fast...so those are the most annoying in the ear. After all the fun, she told me that if I have any other pets to make sure I treat all of them so that there isn't a chance of them spreading around! All in all it was a great first experience with a new vet and I will definitely be returning for any future needs with my fur babies :) I would recommend them to any one that likes a great friendly clinic with very reasonable prices. I have been taking my Golden Retriever, Maverick, to see Dr. Kathy Calvert at Loveland Animal Hospital and just can't say enough nice things about the care he receives, the kind staff, clean place and affordable prices. Dr Calvert and her brother, Dr. Tom Calvert are great veterinarians and kind people. I am a volunteer and foster home for Golden Retriever Rescue in Nebraska (GRRIN) and Loveland has been great to work with. Everyone at Loveland Animal Hospital is exceptional - no one makes you feel like a "crazy pet parent" or "just another client". Truly a partner in caring for the health of my dog. Pat, the "world's greatest Groomer" (per my guy, Maverick), is patient and soothing (..."and gives a great bath"....says Maverick).
