I have always experienced professional treatment at Mission Village.  My cat and I usually arrive a little early and always get to see the doctor by the time the appointment was scheduled.  The exams are thorough, all questions are answered, and suggestions for how I could improve Maggie's health are made.  This is the second cat I have taken to Mission Village.  My first had chronic health problems that we dealt with for several years.  Then came the day that Meya told me that it was time to help her cross the rainbow bridge.  I called Mission Village and, even though they had a loaded schedule, they got us in the same day.  I was part of the process the whole time, and they even offered to let me stay in the room after it was over to say good bye to Meya.  They explained what would happen, and I did not feel rushed the entire time.  I have always felt like they care about the animals they treat and the owners who bring them in. Wow, three one stars for Mission Village?  That surprises me based on my experiences.  We've now brought our beagle, Daisy, here twice since moving to Omaha.  Both times, I've been quite pleased with everything.  We've seen Dr. Soulliere each time but the staff all the way around has been very friendly and efficient.  I like Dr. Soulliere alot, she's personable and takes the time to ask questions about Daisy and even about our "new" life here in Omaha. The location itself is fairly small, so I am not sure that they can handle walk ins and we had to wait a couple of weeks to get Daisy in when we called.  So, keep that in mind when scheduling.  As for the price, everything seems to be right in line with what I have experienced at other places.  I've never felt like there were any surprises on the prices or services, as others have noted here.  But, alot of that comes from my asking what is happening but also they have communicated everything they were doing very well.  So, while I cannot discount the experiences of others feeling swindled, I haven't personally felt that way. We will continue to make Mission Village our vet based on our experiences so far. I might have stayed away had I seen the reviews before going in but I am glad I didn't look first because so far, so good. Read Less

I always like to take a second and share my awesome experiences. Unfortunately, not this time. I DID read the reviews before going to this vet, so I paid close attention to to everything the vet was saying. STILL, I ended up falling into their trap. MY HUSBAND scheduled the visit over the phone explaining exactly what We wanted for our furry buddies. I also filled out a sheet, again explaining what I wanted and had all the current information on my boys, the total coming to $94. The dr. Was very nice and explained everything she was doing. NOT ASKING. EXPLAINING. then when it was time to pay.... My total was $194. My husband called the clinic when I explained what happened. They told my husband that I agreed to all of the extras. However, I did not. They blamed it all on me. We typically use a different vet (which we love) about an hour away. This was an opportunity for this clinic to gain a customer but the only thing they did was make us very upset and make us feel taken advantage of. I recommend that you take your critters elsewhere.  I'm sorry to everyone that encountered the same situation, which from what I read, is many. Read Less

Yesterday, my parents called Mission Village as our cat, who had been a part of our family for 17 years, had fallen terminally ill and was suffering beyond repair. The clinic was completely dismissive (to their 13-year customers), and at first claimed they were too busy to do anything for them. After elaborating on the dire situation, they told my parents to bring her in and they would try to squeeze her in between appointments. Now it is pretty standard practice to ensure that owners are with their pets, who have become members of their families, in the very sad circumstances when a pet must be put down. Yet when my parents arrived with our cat, the clinic took her and turned my parents away, telling them they were too busy and had no idea when they would be able to see our cat. Now I wish my sweet parents were a little more adamant or confrontational with these completely inconsiderate employees, which can be difficult in emotional moments, but my mother asked for them to at least call and give them a chance to be present. After waiting all day for the phone call, my mother finally called the clinic and was told they put our cat down a long time ago, with no family present. And to be more specific, only 20 minutes after they brought her in. They also try to sell emotional clients on a story of cremation and the spreading of ashes in a special field...for a mere $100+. With how little regard they have for their clients and animals, I highly doubt they are taking extra steps to care for the remains and process with which they are handled, and instead capitalize on emotional clients. It is disgraceful to think that anyone is trusting this place to care for their animals in health, or otherwise, when in the last moments of a pet's life they have the so little consideration for their clients or their animals. I really hope people will choose to take their business to other vets in the area, and show this clinic that this type of business is unacceptable. Read Less

In early May of 2013, we took our dog to Dr. Knake for a single Lepto vaccination. When we left the office, we received a $120.00 bill of service including a $44 wellness exam (2nd one in less than 5 months), a $35 heartworm test (we specifically said we do our own heartworm preventatives), and an additional booster that included distemper(that our dog does not need at this age). Although many clinics require annual wellness exams, they are generally scheduled visits; as for heartworm tests, these are generally completely optional unless you take advantage of their own prevention program. Our dog was just given a full examination (with x-rays) in January, so this exam was neither scheduled nor necessary. In addition, the exam was not comprehensive at all. Our dog was already seen by a specialist 5 days prior and the technician said that she probably wouldnt find anything that the specialist would not have caught already. Our visit to Mission Village left us feeling like we were swindled, just as if we had visited a disreputable car mechanic that was looking to tack on extra fees. Lacking any apologetic mannerisms, Dr. Knake said that in the future they can just give us an estimate for each visit. If I need an estimate in order to receive a single vaccination that I have specifically requested, then I believe it is time to find a clinic that is able to provide more integrity with the business they conduct.
