I’ve been going here for many years and have always loved the service, staff, Dr.’s and knowledge they possess to treat our dogs. Dr. Knope is my Dr. and she is so wonderful! She talks Dog- speak to my “kids” and she has a huge heart! By the way, she just had a baby! Congrats Dr. K! Adam, who is in charge of the vet operations has been around since it was a pet store and I have always liked him very much. Lacy, one of the technicians is also great. I had the pleasure of being a pet owner/patient at Ridgeview Animal Hospital, and have nothing but great things to say about this office. The office and exam rooms are always clean. The waiting area is very open and welcoming. The front office and vet techs are always professional, kind, caring and friendly. You can definitely tell they love working with animals. Emergencies? Willing to work your pet into their schedule. Questions/concerns? Vets and techs will take phone calls to ease your worries. Dr. Scully is by far the best vet I have ever taken my pets to. Finley and Ellie were always excited for both visits and appointments. I, unfortunately, moved out of state and am very much missing this vet office. I made an appointment with Ridgeview Animal Hospital to give my cat a lion's cut I was quoted $42 for a first-time exam and $48 for the lion cut I went back to get my cat and my bill was $122 I told them I did not want her to have anesthesia if at all possible they told me they did not give her anesthesia but my bill was still a $122. When I got home I examined my bill as it was late and I needed to get home when I examined the bill I saw I was charged $42 for the exam as quoted $55 for the lion cut which the tail was not cut at all it looked like she had Christmas tree branches at the base of her tail and her tail wasn't shaved.   and then additional $25 an hour which was never spoken of on the phone or in the office for the butcher job they did on my cat she looks so horrific I was willing to take her to another vet to have them clean her up she looks like the goat chewed on her. Very poor service. I am a customer for over 12 years now and when I had an emergency with my pet, Rideview refused my pet because they had no opening. I was planning on dropping my pet off so they can work my Pet in when they have time. I was told from Rideview that they had no room because they are booked out. So my wife left work to bring pet in to Rideview and was told that pet need to stay. It is funny now they have room before they didn't have. All what they want is your money, service dropped very much over the last years, what a shame. I can no longer recommend Rideview Animal Hospital, to bad. Read Less

I was taking my golden retriever there for a little over a year after we moved here from Chicago. The vet had probably only met Husker a few times when he recently got sick and I had to take him to urgent care during after hours where we learned he had fluid around his heart. I took him in to the vet the next morning and they did everything they go to remove it but Husker's heart gave up in the process and we lost him. There was nothing anyone could do. Honestly, as heartbreaking and difficult as this unexpected passing was; the entire staff blew my mind with their patience and kindness. They donated to the Arbor Tree foundation and a tree was planted in his honor and they even sent a personalized card to me and my family. I'm honestly so touched by the people that work at Ridgeview. They were always so kind and great with him over the last few visits leading up to this. I would recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat. My cat had surgery on her eyes and had stitches. They said just bring her in and we'll snip they out, quick and no problem. Of course there was a problem! She had to be sedated and kept for several hours and I was charged much more than expected. Much more than expected and I was scolded because they didn't have enough time to monitor her as the sedation wore off. I had to take a still sedated kitty home, and they were very anxious that I could get her out of there so they could close on time. Needless to say I did not go back. Read Less

Dr. Gaines is the best.  Over the last 15 years, we've had two cats and a dog as patients there.  Dr. Gaines listens attentively.  She's smart, hard working and CARES about her patients.   She has a great bedside manner with her patients and their owners.  In fact, everyone at Ridgeview Animal Hospital CARES.  Two of our pets lived out their lives and had to be put down in the end.  In both cases we received a sympathy card signed by the doctor and her entire staff.  Nice touch.   Great people--and our dog loves it there.  That's all we need. We love this place. Our Boston Terrier (Jaxxon) and our Cat (PePe) are right at home and never skittish because of their bedside manner at Ridgeview. We love Dr. Knope but we have seen several of the Vets here and they are all great with our animals. Even though we no longer live close to their offices, we still make the trek rather than moving to a new Vet which should say it all! The topper was the absolutely free puppy checkup we got when we acquired a puppy and then sold it. They did a checkup and gave us a health certificate for no charge. Awesome! Read Less

Desk staff are very friendly. But Doctors are sales people for the pharmaceutical companies. Doctors office is riddled with over dramatic posters from the pharmacy companies, and the doctors are always pushing and selling prescriptions, treatments, and services. Our dog is a rescue Pug.  She is 13 years old, blind, deaf, and only goes out for walks, but is always getting the $500 treatment. And this visit, we were told that she is now obese. Because she is 4 pounds over weight. There is a prescription that they can provide that will help with her appetite.  Of course, surgery is an option.  She has dry eyes (although she is blind) and should get a prescription for her eye moisture. "Try keeping your eyes open for 5 minutes without blinking - that what she is feeling" says the doctor.  There's a new test for a new disease (forgot name) that dogs should be immunized from (similar to heart-worm, but more devastating!).  She needs a prescription for her sinuses (Have you ever owned a pug... they all snort). She needs (and we buy) prescription Diet food, only available by prescription at $95 a bag. She needed to have her teeth cleaned, and I was told that I need to brush her teeth 2x a day, with a prescription tooth paste (free sample lasts 4 days).  Plus a prescription mouth rinse. Plus prescription shampoo, and prescription ear drops for her ears. I love my dog, and she has had a good life with us, but I feel the pharma-fear mongers have taken over the clinic! Read Less

The staff is super friendly, the Docs are fantastic and I wouldn't dream of taking my beloved pets any where else! This hospital is very close to my house what motivated me to try, after my dog spent the whole night at Animal Emergency Clinic  - unfortunately, the ONLY NIGHT VET HOSPITAL IN OMAHA. Dr. Gains was very skillful and attentive. She prescribed all the medications and we both thought the dog was health enough to go home, so he would stress less. As the antibiotic took long to make effect, I called 300 times and the staff was just great - kind and helpful.  By the end of the day, the dog was screaming,  more because of his bottom than because of the diarrhea, so I returned there. Dr. Bell atended me and made me less concerned, yet I felt it was better to take him back to the ONLY NIGHT VET HOSPITAL IN OMAHA ( have I stressed that enough?!), for another expensive overnight.  The other day, I came back to Ridgeview and asked to leave the dog for the day on intravenous serum, so I would not have to return to the AEC again at the night and pay a fortune. Dr. Bell took the dog in, watched him through the day, and all for much less I was charged at night. When I got him back, he was much better, attending to her, what is just not like him -  she must have really given him some attention.  So, I'd really recommend. Read Less

My Wife and I just moved to West Omaha 2 weeks ago and this Hospital is 2 blocks from our Apartment. I will say that I was not sure if I wanted to go there cuz of the reviews on Google and Yelp. I am so glad I went to Ridgeview Hospital. My dog Cinny is 15 year old Golden mix. She was coughing and had labored breathing this morning. We got in right away and the front staff was great, smiles on there faces and just happy to be at work. We were in the room, seen by the tech, then the Doc in less then 10 min. Now let me tell you that I am a full time student going towards my DVM degree. I was a tech for 8 years. They knew I was a tech and didn't treat us any different. They listen to me and my wife took great care of Cinny and Dr. Losee was so nice and caring. She is a awesome Doctor and will be taking care of my pets for the 8 year we are here. After her exam, she recommended chest x-rays first which we did then Cinny and her came back in the room and she explained in detail about the finding on the heart. also got a heartworm test done and nail trimming. Dr. Losee is just filling in at that hospital but she works at the sister hospital in Papillion. I would highly recommend Ridgeview Animal Hospital and Dr. Losee. I took my puppy there when I got him from PetLand. They were super nice and at a good price. They helped me out with him for a year. I then got a Boxer. When I took her there to get her vaccinations I went to a different doc than I had been at that clinic. She seemed very aftraid of my dog, which was odd. my dog likes to lick, and she tried to lick her face and jump up a little and the made the vet scared. She proceded to muzzle my dog which I did NOT like, then took her in the back for her shots which I could hear my dog freaking out. I would recommend Dr. Gains because I had a great experience with her for my puppy. I would not recommend Dr. Bell.. But Dr. Gains is very helpful! Read Less
