Having Urgent Pet Care in Millard is such a blessing. Both times I had to use them it was a Sunday and our veterinary office was closed. The 1st time was when our sweet dog, Ali was 13 yrs old and had a stroke. She couldn’t walk and leaned to the side. They were able to get her healthy enough to give us another precious year with her. They were the ones that assisted us with putting her to sleep last month. They were very caring and compassionate and they gave us all the time we needed with her at the end to grieve. Thank you all. Several months ago I brought my 4 month old dog into the clinic because he was sick. They did all the tests they could but I was disappointed that they don't have a trained radiologist there to read the x-rays. The vet tech did the best they could but didn't seem very confident with reading the x-ray. It cost a lot of $$ to have that done- so I would have appreciated a more confident reading. They were wonderful with my pet and compassionate though I wish I could have been back there when doing some of the testing as I know he was scared. Unfortunately we lost him a couple weeks later. I cannot say enough great things about the Urgent Pet Care West team! I recently had to take my young kitty there on a Sunday because he was showing signs of a possible urinary tract issue, which can be critical for male cats. It was the first time I saw these symptoms in him and the signs were subtle enough that I thought I might be overreacting, but I didn't want to take a chance with my baby. I very much appreciated the way Dr. Buhr listened carefully and with such kind consideration to my concerns, and then developed an excellent diagnostic and treatment plan for him. He did have a urinary infection and ended up needing to spend the night in the hospital so he could continue to be monitored and treated. Thanks to the great care he was given, his infection was well under control by mid-morning the following day, and he was back to his normal playful self. While no one ever wants to need urgent pet care, it is VERY reassuring to know that if the need arises, our beloved fur babies will be in such skilled, kind hands!!! Read Less

Amazing people with passion and compassion in everything they do. You are not a paycheck to these people, they feel for you and your animals in their heart and soul. I have had to bring my dogs here on 2 unfortunate occasions, but they have always got them all taken care of. They are life savers that remain open till late at night while everyone else in town has been closed for hours. I am 100% pleased with my visits and I would recommend them to anyone! Read Less

We brought our dog in to be euthanized on an emergency basis as she had been struggling with cancer and collapsed in the evening. Everyone on the staff was so kind during this difficult time. The veterinarian that did the procedure asked if she could pray with me while our dog was passing. That was amazing, and will stay with me for a long time. Dr. Westfall and the Urgent Pet Care staff were kind and understanding. She gave us the unfortunate news that our Maggie had cancer, and gave us our options in a realistic manner that prepared us for what was to come. She was supportive in our decision and gave us the tools and knowledge to be with our Maggie until the end. When our dog got hit by a car, our vet told us to take him here. They took him right in when we got there and began caring for him. Everyone there was kind and understanding. He had to spend the night and when it was time for us to leave, I felt that he was in great hands. The dr called me an hour after we left to give me an update and through out the night I got text with updates on his condition. He was a lucky dog and made it through. The staff here is so caring and competent. I really love the way you can call/text for updates on your fur baby. They are also very conscientious about the costs and appear to avoid any unnecessary charges. Love this clinic and would reccomend it to anyone. Read Less

Sought emergency visit for my dog as I noticed a large lump on his leg. They gave us very good treatment, advised that it was not life threatening, and told me what to watch for til I can get him into his normal vet. They could have easily taken advantage of the situation but instead have honest feedback and even put together a quote for services in case we needed to get him in sooner than Monday. The level of care here is outstanding, especially for 1030 on a Saturday night when everyone else is closed. The vet even asked to say a prayer for my dog and hopefully the blessings return to her tenfold. Thankyou to the whole team, great job. Read Less

This evening I took my senior Italian Greyhound to the Urgent Pet Care West and I appreciate the wonderful emergency care that was given to my Iggy companion. From the time I walked in to the clinic, to the time I left, all clinic employees I encountered were kind, caring, and professional. It was a busy Friday evening, yet I never felt like we were being rushed through. The medical care was great and the cost for the emergency care was reasonable. They knew that the previous clinic did something wrong to my cat because apparently the other clinic called them for heads up that I was not happy about what they did to my cat( I did not make a scene or yell, I just took my cat out of there and refused that they further treat my cat and walked out). When I got there to have them take a look at my cat ( who was in their care on the weekend). Dr Younker  ( the owner) was rude and wouldn't listen to me and left the room and 20 minutes later he sends me a bill with nurse asking$ 100+ to take a look at my cat !!! I paid almost 3000 dollars between them and the other clinic ( Animal Clinic Suburban). Read Less

Just a few weeks ago our border collie got very sick, within a day she went from fine to not walking. Our vet of 8 years was closing in an hour and refused to see her. Thankfully we brought her to Urgent Pet Care in Millard! The staff was amazing and treated our girl like they would there own! Sadly she was extrely sick and we had to let her go. This difficult time was made a little easier due to the love and compassion that they showed! A week later we received a card in the mail from them showing more care and compassion! Avoid at all costs!! I took my dog here because he was throwing up and having diarrhea. They had him there for three hours did an abdominal x-ray and not a chest x-ray and it up sending him home. And charge me $400 for the process. We ended up going to another "vet" who then intern charged us $1200 to keep him overnight and give him fluids. So then I took them to our regular vet and within 15 minutes they found that there was something lodged in his rib cage. I do not know why this place did not find it in the x-rays. I called them to complain and the person in charge said they don't do chest x-rays or full body x-ray's if they're throwing up and having diarrhea. This full body x-ray would've eliminated this entire scenario and crisis and save me another $1200. Avoid this place. Do not go here!!! Read Less

Unfortunately, my old baby girl passed away in her sleep. Being 13 years old I knew it would happen just not that sudden. With all vet offices closed, I contacted Urgent Pet Care West and was told I could bring her there. They then kindly asked if I would like her ashes returned to me. I did. I went through their private cremation service and they let me spend as long as I wanted with her to say my goodbyes. They called within an hour of opening on the day they said she would be back and said I could pick her up anytime during business hours when I was ready. Truely one of the best animal clinics in town. Great staff, prices, and care. We have used this clinic twice now and they have provided excellent care of our dog Blue. Hopefully we won't need their services again in the future but are relieved to know they are there. Read Less

We Love this Urgent Care Vet Facility. The staff is amazing and loving. We lost our Bulldog (Otis) and Dr. Doris Starks was amazing. She helped us through this extremely tough time. We also have had Sammy our 13yrs old Maltese and Scooby-Doo our 8yrs Bichon seen by Dr. Starks and she loves our fur babies as though they are hers. We can not rave enough about her staff of technicians, receptionists and fellow Dr.s. all are fantastic. Wonder place to take your pet in an emergency. Our cavalier had congestive heart failure and was in bad shape when we arrived. THe dr and staff did everything they could but unfortunately she was just to sick. I can't say enough about how kind, caring , and attentive they are. Don't hesitate taking your animal here. We had to take our 14 yr old little dog to Urgent Care last week because another Vet had given him WAYYYY to much of an Antibiotic and he was overdosing. He suddenly couldn't walk and was beginning to Seizure! I knew it was going to be pricey, but, my thoughts are that you need to expect that things may occur with your animal, like your children, and if you can't afford to pay for those things, then you can't afford a pet! The care that our Max received from Dr. Stark was TOP NOTCH! She is an amazing Vet and I could see that she genuinly cared about what was happening with our boy and knew that we love him like our children & took amazing care of him. He did have to stay overnight with them,,,but they text us through out the night to let us know how he was doing. The next morning we had to pick him up before 7:30am and Dr. Starks wanted us to take him to his regular Vet for Observation. We took him right out to his regular Vet and they had received all his Medical Records from Urgent Pet Care already and were expecting him. Our Vet told us that we couldn't have taken him to a better place and that Dr. Starks is a VERY good Vet and person and she does genuinly care for all pets. I would take any of my pets to Urgent Pet Care if the need ever arises again and would feel very comfortable in doing so. The one and ONLY issue I had was with the Receptionist. I'm not sure what her deal was, but, I had the paperwork completed before even arriving and apparently it wasn't good enough as she wanted me to fill it out again...what I had gotten off their website & completed, was EXACTLY the same as she wanted me to complete again and when I said NO, I had already completed it & it was the EXACT same, she sighed and took the paper from me and completed it herself. The is the ONLY complaint I had, other than that though, everyone and everything was perfect. Went to VCA on 96th and Mockingbird---Rip-off. Found Urgent Pet Care in Papillion, Dr. Starks is a wonderful and compassionate Vet. She treated our furry 17 year old daughter with kindness and compassion. She laid things out for us because we were super stressed out, and guided us on what to do with Pandy. With her help and direction we made the choice to end Pandy's suffering. He regular Vet said Dr. Starks is a very kind and compassionate Vet and person. I gave this place two stars because I've had excellent help here previously. That was not the case today. While the doctor and the receptionist were fine, (in fact the receptionist was amazing), the tech was atrocious.  She was insensitive, she wasn't listening, apparently not to me or the doctors either. I kept waiting for them to bring me an estimate, and she walked in and started talking about what they'd do for treatment. When I tried to ask her about the cost, because they kept telling me they were bringing in an estimate and options, she got confrontational. She started out most of her sentences with, "Like I told you on the phone..." and "Like it told you before..." She  actually didnt tell me on the phone and wasn't listening to my question. She got frustrated right away and was on the defensive, just because I tried to clarify to her that no one had brought me an estimate. I was frustrated, as money is tight and the dog I brought in had a potentially lethal problem. Her jumping on me like that just made everything worse. She was bar none the worst vet tech I've ever had the displeasure of working with. Read Less

Dr Starks has saved our old dog Toby twice in the past with his pancreatitis and diabetes issues, today we had to take him in to be put to sleep as his old body had enough and the care and compassion we received were a great comfort to us at such a difficult time, all we had to do is sign a form and the arrangement for his cremation was taken care of so all we have to do is pick up his ashes when ready to bring our old boy home. My dog got into a fight with one of her sisters over scraps. My dog was bleeding heavily in her ear and was swelling on the side of her face rapidly. I took my girl in at 9, was able to pick her back up at midnight. They were thorough, sensitive to my needs and my dogs needs. I was very pleased with the visit and Dr. Kelly was also very thorough in her explanation of what was happening to my dog and instructions on her care. We took our cat Noodle in after noticing that he had eaten hair ties and Dr. Starks was able to get him in, x-ray, and perform surgery to remove the bunch of hair ties he had eaten on the Friday night of a holiday weekend. Everyone at the Papillion clinic was friendly, and gave call/text updates the whole time he was there, plus I could call and check on him whenever I wanted to, and he wasn't alone overnight. My dog had cancer and was feeling fairly well on a Sunday, although we knew her time was close. That night, she took a sudden downturn and we knew it was time....on a Sunday night, right at closing time. I called and asked to please let me bring her in to be euthanized rather than make her wait and suffer until regular vet hours in the AM. They absolutely agreed and were very sweet with her as she passed. I'm so thankful for Urgent Pet Care! Read Less

My cat was extremely ill when I brought him in. Obviously bringing him in to an Urgent Care with serious issues cost was going to be a little on the high end. The staff did everything they could to accommodate what I could afford and do what was only absolutely necessary considering the circumstances. I was given choices when it came to medications based on prices and was able to choose what I felt my pet needed. This was an extremely difficult time for me as my pet was so sick and the cost of having such a sick animal is not cheap. I couldn't have asked for a better experience considering the circumstances. I will absolutely visit this establishment again and would recommend this business to anyone that has an urgent pet issue. Read Less

Only take your fur family here if you have 500 plus dollars to give them! Our family pup was hit by a car last night and we were turned away with a couple pain medications while a tiny soul suffered and died due to the neglect of the vet. We offered everything...leaving cards...begged and pleaded to this woman and she denied service and let a member of our family suffer and die in pain. Loving and compassionate??? I don't think so. In it for the money. Joker is dead because of you. I know you won't lose any sleep over this...but to others thinking of trying to save your family members life...find somewhere else. He suffered for hours and took his last breath this morning hours before we could find a REAL vet. Below is a picture of how joker is doing today after your service. If I could give this place - stars I would...my puppy was hit by a car and they wouldnt help because I didn't have the money right then and there..it was up to the vet and She wouldn't help my puppy...some kinda vet she is...I had to bring my poor puppy home and watch him suffer until the next day to get him to someone who would help me and let me make payments...what a waste of a place in my eyes..emergency care haha u guys are a joke...I will not recommend anyone to take their fur babies to u for care.. Update on my puppy his name is joker and he passed away do to this place not wanting to give him the care they ohh so say they provide...heartless vet I ever met in my life..you shouldn't be a vet because u clearly do not care for animals..all h care for is the money...careless heartless human beings.
