I had my first visit with Oasis Animal Hospital on Sept. 28, 2017, after just moving to Nevada from California, they were recommended to me by Henderson Pet Resort and I must say I'm very grateful they recommend me to this Vet. The staff was very friendly and helpful and most important they were wonderful with my dogs. Oasis Animal Hospital was recommended to me by my dogs groomer. I was extremely pleased with the service. Everyone was kind and professional. My dog had an opened wound that needed care, he was not very cooperative, but the staff was able to treat the wound and two days later the wound looked great. My babies have been seeing Dr Fisher now for over 11 years. I can't say enough about Dr Fisher and his staff From when I call to make an appointment, to sitting down with Dr Fisher. I have never ever felt rushed. Dr fisher always takes the time to go over any questions I have. He takes pride in his work and I know travels to continue to better educate himself. When my Oscar was diagnosed with cancer Dr Fisher did whatever possible he could to help my baby. My dog is still going strong a year later. I've gone Dr. Fisher for many years and being that my pets are pretty healthy animals, it's only been for simple things like ear cleanings, nail clippings, shots, etc. Unfortunately my little dog started showing SERIOUS SYMPTOMS that I had never seen before (trying to pee multiple times, wiping her crotch on the ground, bloody crotch, dark colored urine, frequent urination) and Dr. Fisher proved his INABILITY TO CORRECTLY TEST AND TREAT the cause of her symptoms. Here's what transpired: *2/22/17 - I brought her in for symptoms mentioned above and Dr. Fisher diagnosed her with a UTI and prescribed her Amoxicillin for two weeks, along with Ente-Derm ointment. In this his short quest to find the source of my dog's UTI, Dr. Fisher only performed a Urinalysis and Ultra Sound, and upon finding out she had a UTI, DID NO FURTHER INVESTIGATION TO IDENTIFY THE TYPE OF BACTERIA and BLINDLY PERSCRIBED HER ANTIBIOTICS. This visit cost me roughly $180 before tax. *3/9/17 - I took her back to the office once she finished the antibiotics and Dr. Fisher ran another Urinalysis and gave her a clean bill of health. This short visit cost me $85.50. (That's a total of about $265, which pales in comparison to a healthy pet, but a chunk of money nonetheless.) *3/11/17 - Fast-forward to TWO DAYS LATER, I came home on my lunch break to take my dog potty and she was showing the ALL OF EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS EVEN MORE SEVERLY. Being that Dr. Fisher's office isn't open on weekends and it was Saturday, I had to continue to miss work to rush her to another veterinarian and do the tests all over again. This vet concluded that she had a UTI and SENT IT OUT FOR A CULTURE to identify the bacteria before prescribing her antibiotics like a sensible medical professional. This visit cost me $272.35. *3/17/17 - The night prior (3/16/17) I received a call from another vet at the clinic who read her lab results and FOUND ALARMING INFORMATION. Her LIVER NUMBERS WERE THROUGH THE ROOF (in the 700s when they're supposed to be in the 100s), along with a bunch of other numbers he read off. He also found that she had a LARGE AMOUNT OF E. COLI in her bladder. I asked him if it was possible for her to have accumulated that 48 hours after getting a clean bill of health from Dr. Fisher and he said IT'S IMPOSSIBLE for her to have gotten that amount of bacteria in that short of time span. He gave numerous explanations as to why Dr. Fisher's Urinalysis could have produced incorrect results; for example, the tester may have not retrieved urine from far enough down in the bladder. This visit cost me $387.40. That's a total of $925 for THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND DIAGNOSIS. When I called to speak with Dr. Fisher, I found out that he was on vacation for the next week. I waited that week and called back to have HORRENDOUS customer service from the receptionist (Cathy was her name, I believe) who told me he would call me back that day between certain times. Wouldn't you know it, I DIDN'T RECEIVE A CALL BACK and I had to call again the next day. This led to the cherry on top. DR. FISHER CLAIMED ZERO RESPONSIBILITY for his LACK OF DUE DILIGENCE AS A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL to CORRECTLY TEST, DIAGNOSE, AND TREAT my dog and REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REFUND for the incorrect medications, along with the incorrect diagnosis of "healthy" when she was the complete opposite. She ended up being incredibly sick and is finally getting some relief from the CORRECT ANTIBIOTICS for SIX WEEKS, no thanks to Dr. Fisher. Overall, if you need your dog's nails trimmed or shots, this is the place for you. If you need actual professional care for your animal, YOU'RE BETTER OFF SPENDING MONEY AT A VET WHO WILL TAKE THE CORRECT PRECAUTIONS THE FIRST TIME and OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKES. My poor dog had this infection festering inside for two extra weeks because she was on an antibiotic that wasn't effective enough, and that would have been known had the correct tests been done. Our dog, Morrison was diagnosed with bone cancer last year and after 3 other vet visits, super expensive consultation bills and indifferent vets, a friend recommended we check out Dr. Fisher. This was the first place we truly felt welcome and the first place we felt comfortable putting our dog's life in their hands. The only option to save our dog was to amputate his hind leg, Dr. Fisher performed the procedure flawlessly and Morrison made a full recovery. We had some hiccups down the path, but Oasis was always there to help as needed. Flash forward a year and Morrison is still going strong. I moved to Henderson 4 1/2 years ago and needed to find a good animal hospital. I inquired with the nursing staff at Saint Rose Hospital who they would recommend and Oasis Animal Hospital was their top choice. We have two dogs that have a very special place in our hearts. We have two 16 year old cats and we could not be more pleased with the care and compassion that we receive from Dr. Fisher and his assistant, Jen. As you can imagine, with elderly animals there are times that one, or both, need to be seen quickly and the office staff is very accommodating to our needs. They are gentle and our cats are not overly stressed while in the office. I also love the fact that they have separate entrances for dogs and cats. Moved here 8 yrs ago now, The first dog we had was a schnauzer and He would go crazy every time we went to a vet in the past. Dr Fisher has been my vet for 8 years. He is the best I have had in over 40 years. You can really trust your loved ones with him. I read the review that criticized him and that is not my experience at all. He also did not know how to spell his name right so maybe he went someplace else. He has never orders tests that were not required. His prices are competitive with any other vet I have seen, I have a weekend Vet and if you want to talk high prices and tests that are not required, but OASIS is not open on weekends. With the exception of the new, young receptionist, the entire staff at Oasis gets high marks. Thorough with explanations, understanding with emotional decisions, the team makes every effort to treat your pet as one of the family. The new receptionist seems uncaring and is a bit rough with our pets, yanking their leashes to make them move, rather than trying to coax an obviously scared animal into the examination room and to get weighed in. There is a reason why the staff has been there as long as they have, and the rapport they have with my ""family"" is commendable. On the day that I picked up my dog's ashes from Oasis I wanted to refill a prescription for my other dog. The prescription expired in three days. I was told my dog needed a test before they would give me the prescription even though it wasn't expired. I've spent thousands of dollars with Oasis. The front desk staff (especially one gruff woman) were rude and I felt they were money grubbers. Maybe they are told to squeeze money out of customers, but a tough economy doesn't mean you can do this. Think before you take your pet there. Remember this was the day I picked up my dog's ashes. Dr. Brian Fisher is my favorite vet ever! He and his awesome staff taught me to give shots to my diabetic cat and made it easy to maintain her health.
