Had an emergency with our standard poodle Odin. He had a foot injury that decided to start bleeding profusely and wouldn't stop. We wrapped it with a pressure bandage, and rushed him in. They squeezed us in, and took great care of him. A quick surgery (within an hour of his arrival) and he's on the mend. Dr. Wyre was fantastic and took excellent care of Odin. Read Less

We had a very compassionate farewell to our BPF thanks to Dr. Avendaño. The hospital would have gotten a five star rating, but for the fact the desk staff appeared uninformed, confused and even a bit chaotic. There was only one other patient there when we arrived (on time) for our appointment. We love our doctor and are very grateful the charges there are very reasonable, especially since we now have two large dogs to care for, not to mention we have two kids at university. Read Less

They got us in a room quickly and we got the best vet we could have ever asked for. Dr.Rodriguez is truly an overqualified veterinarian in every aspect. She immediately noticed the problem and handled our pet with such care. Our guinea pig health had degenerated over a period of 12 hours and we rushed there as quick as we could but we were in denial. She did everything she could and rushed to save her and even gave her CPR but there was not anything anyone could have done at that point. She showed true empathy for our situation and love for our pet. She gave us much needed closure. I wouldn't recommend any other animal hospital. Read Less

I have been bringing my German Shepherd to this facility for years. All shots, veterinary care, and boarding when we go vacationing. Staff and doctors have always been great. Until today. The great staff have left including the doctors. Dr's Abraham and Curtis and their courteous competent staff are gone. Today I was met with a snotty rude receptionist. After a horrible conversation with the young lady at the desk I was still more than willing to give the new physician (to me) a chance. While speaking with the new Dr. I was met with pretty much the same attitude. She informed me what HER policies were and how my dog was going to be cared for rather than how he had been treated in the past. She said she could call the owner to see if he agreed with her but I did not like the doctor and just wasn't comfortable leaving my pet with these people and left. Why do we have to call the owner to get the same great care my dog has been recieving the past five years? What started it all was when I pulled up with my dog, an older gal in a car stopped me to tell me to be careful here. She informed me Sunridge Animal hospital had lost her pets ashes. I told her I was sorry but brushed it off. Now I can actually see why she warned me. The good physicians and staff have left for some reason. And now so have I. Read Less

This hospital at one time was the best in town.  For 17 years we have come to Sunridge.  The last 6 months we have noticed a horrible change.  The management, the staff and doctors are not as good as they once were.   Our pets no longer get the attention they should.  The last visit there I spoke to one of the doctors who is one of the last good ones there.  He is leaving.  The receptionist even told me the place is a mess and completely understands my frustrations with the place.  It is really sad to see a animal hospital that was once so great go downhill.  We are finding a new animal hospital for our pets. Owners educate yourselves. What vets say and do is not Bond. There is at least one vet here who thinks it's appropriate to administer a full set of shots to an 18-year-old dog. Completely unacceptable and demonstrates greed and irresponsibility. There is no valid reason at all whatsoever for an 18-year-old dog's immune system to be compromised. I am in the pet service industry and very involved in the community and I have already contacted multiple people that I know that are also infuriated by this information and although it may not put this place out of business we will actively inform people about the choices that the vets in this office make and try to prevent them from going here. I have been a long time client there and I've had to put down 3 dogs there.  So I don't take writing this lightly.  Due to an incident with my last visit, I cannot ever recommend this place again.  My family and I were there for 2 hours on our last visit on Sunday 4/30.  There was practically nobody there.  We brought in two felines for a visit.  One that needed a fecal exam and medication and the other needing blood work.  No one called to give us the blood work results nor the fecal results.  We had to call in separately for both.  Our kitten that was under 1 pound was prescribed medication for a 3 pound cat.  We were called over a day later to let us know and told we would hear from the doctor and either get a new dosage or get a new script altogether.  No one ever called.  I emailed the office manager to make a formal complaint.  I called to verify the email was received and was told it was.  24 hours had gone by and no one had called.  So I called as I couldn't believe I was being ignored.  When I called, I was told the owner Dr. Ceballos would call me after the weekend.  I thought to myself that if it were me, I'd call immediately the next morning and not 3 days later after the weekend.  Anyways, the weekend came and went and the owner never called.  I just cannot believe how poorly we have been treated.  There are other veterinarians that actually want your business.  I suggest you take your business where it's appreciated. DO NOT EVER GO HERE! My boyfriend and I have a 7 month golden retriever. The past four days he has been throwing up pretty consistently so we waited no longer to bring him in. We got there and they immediately took him back for X-rays. No explanation of what procedure they're doing, how much it's going to cost, any other options, etc. The doctor and my puppy came back and the doctor explained that everything was fine with him and that we can go back home. We got up to the front to pay and she explains that it will be $311.00 we are college students and live on our own so we asked if we can pay half today and half tomorrow when we get paid or do payments. Not sure what her name was but she was probably the rudest person I have ever dealt with. She made us feel like crap and said "we do billing at the time of the service" we have been loyal customers to Sunridge for awhile now and guess what? Now I will never go back because of the way we were treated. Read Less

You know. I'll have to be honest. I really love Sunridge! Everyone there from staff to vet doctors are just amazing and sweet! Everything is also at a reasonable price. Walk ins are welcome, opened till 10. My little baby puppy loves dr. Abraham and Dr. Rodriguez! He got his shots, microchipped for all a good price! Not to mention, his neutering was a good price too! So that's a plus.I also took my other baby rabbit to get him neutered, and it went smoothly! I highly recommend Sunridge animal hospital .We first went to Desert Inn animal hospital, at first, okay it was a good visit. But one day my little puppy poop wasn't normal so of course I was worried. I called them up to see if they'll take me. They said no! Because they are too busy and I'll have to wait 2+ hours. LOL what a joke! So okay I hung up the phone then called again to see if I can walk in and just wait, when the same girl told me no, she gave me an attitude over the phone, so that is when I had to move over. I called Sunridge and they saw me the same day I called in! This review is more about the customer service we received from its staff than anything else.June 19, 2016, my dog Cooper had his first seizure at Petco Store located at Green Valley Pky. We sent him to the nearest hospital - Sunridge Animal Hospital on Eastern Henderson immediately. We admitted him to a emergency serivice. He was there until next day. They did several tests on him, including Utrasound , blood testing and ect.  Dr. Abraham was his doctor at that time. On that day, I provided them Cooper's regular Vet's contact information and they were able to get Cooper's medical history from his regular vet to assist with their diagnosis. After all kinds of testing, the Dr. Abraham told us he was fine and the seizure was caused by anxiety. We paid the hospital around $700 for the service next day on June 20, 2016.On January 30,2017, we took Cooper to a new animal hospital due to our family relocation. He had a seizure when he was walking into the hospital. The doctor there was able to control him immediately. She asked for his medical history. We told them Cooper had one seizure happened back in June 2016. They reached to Sunridge hospital and ask them to fax his testing results. The front desk lady said they don't have Cooper as their patient. So I called in again. I told the lady my name and my dog's name. She said she cannot find the information. I asked her to try to look for information from other sources. I told her I remembered the date, Dr.'s name and even the credit card I paid for the service. She said, "sorry, ma'am.. I cannot help you. The only way I can search for the information is either by owner's name or your dog's name". I was disappointed by her response. I told her there should be a way to get Cooper's medical record because he was there for sure. I asked her to try again and I told her it would save us $500 for run the testing again. She said, "no..." and she said she cannot find either my name or my pet's name. And she said I must remembered the hospital's name wrong.I told the lady I don't know how their system works but there should be a way to get Cooper's medical record because I am sure he was there. She said, "no... I cannot". and her tone was so rude and impatient. So we told her we will dispute the credit card charge if they deny that they provided service to my dog. She said go ahead."Thank you" Sunridge Animal Hospital so much for wasting another $500 to run the test again. "Thank you" so much for having a "good" internal control system on the medial record of your patients. "Thank you" so much for the "best" customer service. Sunridge Animal Hospital claims to cater to exotic animals.  We have had two dwarf bunnies that have both passed based upon direct interaction with Sunridge.  The first passed about 3 months ago after a check up in which we followed the doctors strict care instructions. The most recent was this weekend when we were having our female spayed.  The hospital advised us that we should fast the bunny from midnight the night before the operation.  After our daughters had done some online research (unfortunately it was the morning of the operation) they found that it was advised to NOT fast the bunny prior to the operation.  We called the hospital and they contradictied themselves and said, yes, both water and food was ok.  We fed and watered our bunny for a short 30 minutes prior to taking her in for the operation.  Later that afternoon we received news that she did not make it out of the anesthesia.  We completely understand the risk of the anesthesia and realize we had an option to not proceed with the operation.  However,  to have the hospital change the pre-operating instructions only makes us wonder if our bunny would have had the opportunity to be stronger to make it out of anesthesia.   We will be looking for a new exotic veterinarian. This review is more about the staff than anything else. Dr. Brittani Nickens is absolutely FABBO! I am so thankful to have found her; I feel like Rapunzel and I really got lucky. Truly, Dr. Nickens is a gem and this is why: 1)She has a pleasant bedside manner. 2)She listens, like really listens, and then addresses all concerns. 3)When there are options or alternative solutions for the pet's needs she takes the time to discuss at length so everything is clear and understood by all parties. 4)She doesn't try to give your pet treatments/procedures it doesn't need. 5)She is patient and doesn't rush through talks, questions or exams. And 6) She's SMART! And who doesn't like the smart kids man?!?!Now, on to other things...Let me start by saying "I get it!". I am no stranger to the world o' animal science and have spent many of my days working in clinics. So with that being said, I know exactly what it's like when 5 phone lines are ringing, the Hill's truck just arrived with your food order, 2 drug reps are waiting to see the doctors, Mr. Smith called 4 hours ago for Spot's Rx but you haven't had time to fill it because of the emergency that came in, and to top it all off someone called out sick....IT'S AN ANIMAL HOUSE(pun intended), I GET IT! But what I don't get is the LACK of customer service. You agreed to take the front office position right?! So if you're going to spend your time doing it you might as well do it with a smile. Eye contact adds a little pizazz as well. Communication is also a useful tool. Be mindful of what you're communicating though because when you answer the phone and immediately put the caller on hold because you're "with another client" but you're actually putting a new patient chart together is uncalled for, especially when you do it 4 times. And it looks terrible to those of us in the lobby who can clearly see you aren't working with another client. Speaking of the phone, let's move on to taking messages. I don't give two rat's toes if Dr. Nickens is observing Giraffes on the Savanna for 6 months, if I call to leave her a message- TAKE THE STINKING MESSAGE!! Make me feel like a winner even if I'm not, it's that simple. In addition, the next time my 12 year old dog has a dental and a minor surgical procedure scheduled an awesome way to demonstrate concern and great service would be to give me a reminder call so that I don't forget to hold food and water the night before. And afterwards it would mean an awful lot if someone would call and check on my old girl. Now, my complaints aren't just about the front office. I'm wondering why the office manager A)Doesn't have the front office more organized and B)Doesn't address or respond to reviews. Negative or positive. We yelpers like to know that someone with a pulse is reading/listening/caring...something, anything, for the love of animals just give a response. On a lighter note, the clinic doesn't smell like a litter box or kennel and they're open 7 days a week with very accommodating hours. Very innovative place. You usually have to go to a few animal hospitals to find a doctor willing to take on the major procedures that they do at Sunridge.

I took my black Labrador here 6-8 months ago and the experience was so upsetting. I started to notice that my dog had a lump coming out of her throat. It continued to grow for 2-3 days until it was almost the size of a tennis ball. When I took her in for an appointment, the vet advised that we take a sample and send it into the lab. He told me that he thought she had a tumor and that it may be crucial to test it as soon as possible. He told me the results would be ready the next morning and that he would call me right away. When the following day arrived and I didn't hear from the office, I called in to inquire about the results. The representative told me that if I paid an extra $100, on top of the $200 that I had already paid for the lab fees, the results would be ready the next day. I paid the fee, of course, and waited. Day 3. I waited until 2:00 pm before calling the office. When I called, the front desk advised me that the results arrived that morning and that the vet would follow up with me. When I finally received a call, I was advised that the growth was NOT a tumor. It was, as I had suspected, a salivary gland infection that could be fixed with $75 worth of medication. 1. I was told the results would arrive the next morning. They did not and the office charged me an extra $100 in order to provide them to me 2 days later. 2. The growth was not a tumor but I commend the office for making me think that it was so that I would pay more than I should have. 3. I will never come here again. Such a scam. So disappointed. Sunridge Animal Hospital is not my normal vet, I went here because they take care of exotic animals and my usual location gave me this name. I will not return to this location because of the front office staff. When I called them to schedule an appointment, they asked if I could be put on hold and I said yes. There was a pause and on the other end, I was rudely asked for my attention with a "hello??" as if I purposefully wasted their time by not replying, when I simply must not have been loud enough. A simple, polite repeat of the question would have sufficed. When I brought my bearded dragon into the office, rather than greeting me with a hello or "how can we help you?" the lady at the front office assumed two things: that I wanted to surrender my pet or I found him. Excuse me??? Is that how you greet someone with a bearded dragon they've had for 12 years? Not that she would have known, but if that were the case, let  your customer know that's what they want rather than you put the words in for them. I knew at that point I would never return. After waiting for an hour (not that it's their fault, it is a walk-in clinic after all), I was helped by Dr. Sarno. He was kind to us and my beardie  and gave us advice on taking care of my sick pet. Dr. Sarno "saved" my experience here and is the reason why this hospital gets 2 stars instead of 1, because the care for my pets (that I would NEVER surrender) is far more important than someone at the front office who apparently wants to judge rather than assist. What a shame. Made a big mistake by taking our cat here because there was confusion about the place. It's close to Oasis and Dr. Fisher who are fantastic. Our cat was seen for an upper respiratory infection and an eye infection. This is a recurring problem, when we go to the vet we always get the medications during the visit. At SAH they had no meds but provided a prescription for a medication that is impossible to obtain. I called 5 or 6 pet pharmacies and none of them had the medication. I called to speak to someone about getting an alternative med, I was told Dr. " Procup" wasn't in and no one else could help. I will be bringing my cat to Oasis like we should have in the first place where she will be treated appropriately. Just a rotten experience, we will stay clear of this place and recommend you do the same. Read Less

I want to thank the staff at Sunridge for being so helpful and accommodating to me and my 4-yr old daughter when I called to bring in our new guinea pig, Lilac. I was able to come in on a walk-in basis, which was great, because with guinea pigs, you have to act fast the minute you realize something is wrong (many conditions are fatal, and it doesn't take long at all). Dr. Curtis is very kind, and took great care in examining Lilac, giving us a lot of information. Her condition was an oddity, but very serious, and it was very clear that she was headed to death's door. There were a few things that it could have been, but Dr. Curtis carefully worked through each step and explained the "hows" and "whys." I was very taken by how genuinely concerned he was with my little rodent, because even though she's small and not a dog or a cat, she's a loved pet that needed help. He thoroughly advised me on the options, explained all of the directions for me for home care, and really took his time with us, which was very touching. I've had many piggies and this is the first one I've ever had to bring in for medical assistance, and I am so glad that we were this fortunate. She was given a full round of antibiotics, and I followed all of the home-care directions. She is thriving, growing and all better! I paid $70 total (exam + meds) and it was worth it... not just for the care she received and the confidence I have to wholeheartedly recommend Sunridge, but because the trip literally saved her life. The staff is very nice, the office and rooms are extremely clean, and I was very impressed over all. If I had other pets, I would not hesitate to bring them to Dr. Curtis for his excellent care. The bulletin board of a zillion happy pet photos from other "patients" speaks for itself. Thank you!Read Less

Came here after using Town Center Animal Hospital (which is great), after I moved to Henderson. My girlfriend and I boarded our two dogs for 4th of July weekend. Cost north of $300 for the two dogs. The cost isn't per se unreasonable, but it's certainly unreasonable when: - our dogs were supposed to get complimentary baths, yet the "bath" box was unchecked on both their forms, and both smelled pretty awful. If they received baths, I would be shocked. - my dog soiled her bed at some point over the weekend. Rather than wash it and return it to me, they simply put it in a bag and gave it to me for me to deal with. For all I know she was sleeping on her soiled bed until they took her out of her kennel. My dog is also potty trained and was crate trained. If they take her out 4-5 times a day, as they say they do, there's no way she has an accident in her crate. - my girlfriend's dog had some sort of cut or other abrasion on her paw. No explanation given for this, and no apparent care was given to her. - perhaps most egregiously, Sunridge lost my girlfriend's dog's blanket. When they didn't find it immediately when we went to pick up the dogs, they told us they "didn't have time to look for it right now" and told her to come back later. When my girlfriend came back, they tried to give her someone else's blanket. When she told them it wasn't hers, the staff told her that we signed something saying Sunridge wasn't responsible for loss or damage to items (which is true), and that we were out of luck, but they'd call us if they found it. No apology, no partial refund offered. While they may be correct under the contract, I can't help but think this is awful business practice (that ultimately leads to bad reviews such as this one). I'm not one to give out bad reviews, but after giving them several opportunities to do something about this bad experience, and having them be so defiant and unapologetic, it seemed warranted. Look elsewhere. We will be. Read Less

Stay away. Despite some favorable reviews we disagree. put our dog in kennel while we were away and asked them to look into a cough he had developed. When we picked him up we were told he had a heart murmur but they gave us no medication. His condition continued to get worse and when we brought him in they took an Xray and compared it to his previous one. Suddenly he now had an enlarged heart and collapsed trachea! They wanted us to go across town to a specialist and have a Cat scan on his heart. His condition worsened overnight and we decided his suffering was too much and opted to put him down. They put me in a room and I waited 15 minutes for a vet. While waiting for the vet, my dog died in my arms. The vet merely said, "Your dog is dead, do you want me to do an autopsy". I told him no, what good would it do now? We believe that if they had diagnosed his problem sooner he might have had a chance or we would have put him down sooner so he would not have suffered. Vet was uncaring and more interested in cutting our pet open. Definitely will not go back. there again!! Read Less

We were treated unprofessionally by Dr. Snead and the staff. They tried to throw a bunch of charges at us without any prior approval or explanation, and refused to let us speak to the doctor about them until we paid for them, which they informed me, was their policy.I told them I would not pay until I spoke to the doctor, as the charges exceeded his estimate. They went back and forth relaying my messages, until finally they came back and said that the doctor said we could pay for the dental work ($150), and that the other charges would be removed (a culture had been taken, some prescriptions added). We paid, and were ready to go, just waiting on the dog at this point. After 15 minutes of waiting, Dr. Snead came from the back, and demanded to speak to me outside. I told him I just wanted to get my dog and leave, that I would not be coming back. He practically dragged me outside and attempted to lecture me for 5 minutes about what a great doctor he was, that he had performed the refused procedures anyway, and on and on in a very childish manner. His actions and words was condescending, impolite, unprofessional, and I cut the conversation off, told him to bring me my dog. The whole experience was a disaster, and I can't believe that a doctor would act in such an unprofessional manner. In a final bout of childishness, he told us were banned from the hospital, at which point I laughed at him, as I had told him at least 3 times I would never be back. Read Less

Medicine needed for injection - was told $35 for about a week's worth. A clinic across town charged $14 for almost a month's worth.... same medicine. Prescription food - $1.60+ per can. PetSmart is $1.32 per can. Be sure to ask for a Senior Citizen discount if it applies to you. They will not offer that info and I paid $100 more than I should have. Sure, they credited me but would not remove it from my charge card. Maybe their x-rays, etc. are also over-inflated but we had to pay as we had a sick pet and had no choice when timing is critical. The Doctors were kind and willing to help and listen and assist - However.... "Some" of the front desk staff is outright rude, unfriendly and very abrupt. I had more than one experience with feeling like I was an annoyance and was actually told to take my pet elsewhere if I wasn't comfortable with leaving him there. I was appalled. A pet owner who is going through an emotional time with a very ill pet does not need to be treated like this by receptionists. I would have gone elsewhere in a heartbeat but my pet's life was at stake and I couldn't afford the time to shop around. I usually do not write reviews, but this time it's important to pass this on since others had this same experience here.

Read Less

I adopted a pitbull from their facility and the pitbull attacked my 2 year old and now she has to under go plastic surgery from the damage the pitbull did to her face. I also adopted 2 ferrets from their facility one come to find out has a disease and they have been charging me a ridiculous amount of money to give the ferret steroids without my knowledge.

Hardly no waiting time, staff there is amazing and greets you the moment you walk in (not like desert inn) I'll be coming here from now on Read Less

Read Less

My mom had a dog and spent thousands of dollar's to save his life without a proper diagnosis. I finally picked him up from California and brought him to Sunridge Animal Hospital. It took Dr. Merker, 15 minutes to find out he had LIVER SHUNTS. They put Teddy on meds and a diet. After Dr. Merker left, Dr. Snead took over his care. He does have a terminal illness but Dr. Snead calls to check up on Teddy and shows so much compassion to Teddy and I. He was recently in ICU and the staff let me visit him daily for as long as I wanted. They have kept him comfortable and a healthier life in the last few days of his life. Thank you.

Read Less

The vet care was good, the reception people another story. I know they are a very busy place and you can just walk in without an appointment, but just because a customer was rude previously; don't take it out on the next customer by being rude and snippish. I don't like to call to ask questions, because the phone gets answered like it's an annoyance! It's too bad, because like I said the vet care was good. Read Less
