Advanced Animal Care Hospital

Las Vegas, Nevada
General Info
Advanced Animal Care Hospital in Las Vegas initiates patient care through sensory calibration rather than traditional medical chart review. The objective revolves around preventing sensory overload while detecting early tolerance indicators and facilitating pets' slow adjustment throughout Nevada. The beginning of communication frequently occurs through nonverbal means. Before initiating any physical examination the team deciphers tail position along with spatial hesitation and micro-responses. Each room's lighting and scent levels can be adjusted to prevent startle reflex activation. The scheduling of appointments follows the pet's inherent chronological control system. A number of practitioners initiate their assessments with orthopedic examinations while others start with basic observational scanning based on detected tension patterns. Advanced Animal Care Hospital delivers diagnostic services laboratory examinations disease treatments orthopedic assistance dermatological therapies and dental care for multiple species. Exams may skip over or reorder steps based on signs like lip licking paw withdrawal or shifting gaze. The evaluation of pain indicators relies on examining posture and breath rather than vocalization which proves crucial for stoic breeds and prey-species animals. The process of re-acclimation receives encouragement following treatment. Families receive information about potential lingering behavioral responses alongside methods to detect secondary stress signs and guidelines for prioritizing decompression over immediate activities. Home care plans focus on the pet’s sensory threshold instead of solely physical recovery benchmarks. Advanced Animal Care Hospital delivers veterinary services to Nevada homes that transcend clinical norms by fostering a communicative and serene approach deeply attuned to animal comfort signals and confusion cues.

I needed a place to board my cat while I was away, Advanced Animal Care Hospital has always been the place I took my cat for his annual vaccinations. My kitty was already familiar with the Veterinarian. Like most cats he was angry with me at first because he had never been boarded before. I called one day to check on him to see how he was doing. I was worried about him. The kindness a love they showed him was more than satisfactory. They told me he was the sweetest cat. I knew in my heart he was doing excellent. When I arrived back home he was ready to go home. As a note, the vet. only boards pets that are her clients. They are wonderful. I would recommend them highly. Read Less

Let me start by saying that I really like Dr. Pederson on a personal level. It's not her bedside manner that I have any problem with, it's much more about her ability to listen to her patients' owners and give credence to their observations and concerns. We have an elderly cat named Buster, who started losing weight and drinking and urinating excessively. From prior experience with another cat, we knew these symptoms could be signs of kidney disease, a fairly common issue with older male cats. We took Buster to see Dr. Pederson, and asked if she would check him for kidney disease. She diagnosed him with dental problems (which, to be fair, was a common issue for Buster, and a contributing factor to his health problems) Dr. Pederson told me that she needed to do a couple of extractions and then he would be fine. Since the dental problems were ongoing, and he had very few teeth left, we told her to just remove the remaining teeth, as they were not going to be of any use, and we didn't want to put an elderly cat under anesthesia any more than we had to. She didn't. When I looked at his surgical bloodwork I saw that his kidney values were elevated, and pointed this out to her. She shrugged it off and said that it was a result of the dental problems. I asked if we should re-check his blood work in a week or two to confirm her diagnosis, and she again brushed off my suggestion and said we should wait another 4 months until his annual checkup to re-check the kidney numbers. I had my doubts, but because she seemed very nice and competent, I agreed, and did not seek a second opinion. A month later, Buster is dropping weight in a drastic fashion and we took him back to Dr. Pederson and demanded that the bloodwork be run. As expected, he was in early stage kidney failure, a process that cannot be reversed, but could have been slowed had we begun treatment when we first brought him in. We begin his treatment and he responds well. Another month later and we must leave town for a combination of work travel and a friend's wedding. Dr. Pederson suggested letting us board Buster with them at Advanced, and we would run another kidney screen while he was in. We later get a call from another doctor we've never met, asking why he's got Buster, and why we are running the bloodwork. Dr. Pederson had left town without giving him any information on what was going on with the current boarders and no ability to access their medical records. That was the last time we took Buster to Advanced. Now, 5 months later, and Buster's dental issues have returned, because a) she didn't remove the teeth we requested, and b) she didn't remove all the roots of the teeth she did extract. This is extremely frustrating as this situation is exactly what we wanted to avoid when we asked her to take all of his teeth. I cannot stress enough how upset we were with Dr. Pederson and her unwillingness to respect our knowledge of our cat and wishes for his care. Read Less

She didn't.When I looked at his surgical bloodwork I saw that his kidney values were elevated, and pointed this out to her. She shrugged it off and said that it was a result of the dental problems.I asked if we should re-check his blood work in a week or two to confirm her diagnosis, and she again brushed off my suggestion and said we should wait another 4 months until his annual checkup to re-check the kidney numbers. I had my doubts, but because she seemed very nice and competent, I agreed, and did not seek a second opinion. I work at a store next to this vet office and everyday I see the staff walk the dogs on the burning hot asphalt to use the restroom. I voiced my opinions to the actual vet and she told me "he lives in Vegas and can walk on this ground all day". I'm sorry but you also live in Vegas but you wouldn't walk out there without shoes on!! Also in winter they wash and blow dry the dogs outside!!! Beware if you board your animals there!! Read Less
