Everyone including from the front desk was very nice and professional. The dr. Told me my cat had allergies which ended being true. After previously taking her one place and saying that had no clue then another place charging me 400 to test area on tail only for test to come neg. Glad I found q dr who is intelligent in her field of work. I also, got my Maine coin shaved and the girl did an amazing job! The dr abd groomer was great handling her before, during and after the process. My cat is a new cat and so happy. I also liked the communication! She said there were a couple area's she shaved a little closer due to matting so that part was uneven which I understand and liked that she told me. They have my full trust and now will be having them handle my cats here from now on. Read Less

I'm new to the area and was unsure where to take my kitty. She has recently been diagnosed with feline hyperesthesia and it's been an uphill battle. I brought my cat in and was very impressed that the vet had already read the records from my previous vet in Ohio. No back tracking and trying to explain what has been going on with my cat. The doctor was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Even giving me some tips to help easy my cats anxiety from the move. The techs were also super friendly and helpful. They even did a follow up call to see how my kitty was doing. I'm so happy I found a great vet to help with my cats condition. Read Less

I've been to All About Cats twice now since moving to Las Vegas. On both occasions, the staff and vets have been exceptional. They are very caring and understanding, and actually take the time to listen and talk about your cat's needs. On my second visit, I was concerned about my cat's diet and scooting. We were there for 40 minutes, and the vet checked my kitty up and down and we came up with a great plan to address her needs. I've been to other vets who get you in and out as fast as possible, basically they're walking out the door before they finish their last sentence. At All About Cats, they walk you out because they care about you and your cat. I won't go anywhere else, and their prices are actually cheaper than my previous vet in Florida. Highly recommend this place for you and your cat. Read Less

okay..I give 1 star because now I feel so guilty and it's so sad!! the fact that I brought my cat to this place. My cat had urinary tract problem, and the doctor suggest the surgery. the first thing I said was "is she under a lot of pain? severe? " my cat was bleeding when urinating, so I had to ask...Doctor said "YES" and said " we can treat her with food BUT!! it takes couple of month to remove it and she might be under a lot of pain. So I've decided to have a surgery done to ease on her pain. just examining her, to find what's causing her symptoms, it came out almost $900. and plus the surgery fee..together, almost came out $2,000 and turns out she found the crystal in her bladder through an X-ray...I thought it was weird...why didn't she just took the x-ray first, if not finding anything from there...then you do extra procedures.. I got ripped off!!! anyway.. After a year, my cat had repeated symptoms, so I took her to Tropicana Hospital instead, because it was only available place I could find in time matter! I asked to Doctor in Tropicana, " She have to do the surgery again?" He straight said "NO" then I asked him "what about her pain?" ...he gave me a look it's nothing! and he said " I will take a x-ray first, see if I can find something from there. if not, we will do extra procedures... I ended up paying less than $500 for the same problem..can you believe it? I'm still mad to thinking that I had to put her in the surgery when it's not necessary...how are you going to pay my cat back her scary, confused, stressful experience? Money is the last issue for me..when it comes to my cats..my cat is first....but they used my feelings of concerns of my cat to make their money.... okay.. so the doctor from TROPICANA, he have confirmed me that ALL ABOUT CAT was just ALL ABOUT MONEY! and my cat behavior dramatically changed in bad ways...she became more sensitive and agitated then before she experienced ALL ABOUT CAT HOSPITAL. you have no idea how much hurting my feelings watching her being stressed since the day she's got discharged from ALL ABOUT CAT HOSPITAL. Please ,,if you have a cat has a problem with urinary tract, just take the x-ray...it will save you a lot of money and less stress on your cat. Don't listen to the doctor..Doctor won't tell you. I forgot her name. Since it's been long ago..but it was a female doctor!! I will never go back to this place. They do not care for your cats Read Less

About 2 weeks ago, we thought our cat was not going to make it. She was really weak, not eating, not drinking, throwing up, had diarrhea with traces of blood and was giving hints that she was giving up. We thought it was a kidney issue, and we knew how deadly and non forgiving that was. We took her to another veterinarian and they wanted to do all kinds of tests, which would have been very costly, before even treating her. We wanted a second opinion; so, they sent her home without any treatment. That was a very sad day, because her health further deterioratad that evening. We had an appointment with All About Cats the next day and we just braced ourselves to hear the bad news. We didn't let our kids go to the vet, just in case we had to make unpleasant decisions on our Princess' health. When my wife got there, I got an optimistic call. She said that they were so caring, paid so much attention to our 14 year old cat, and had the expertise and experience to suggest quick solutions and treatments to make our cat comfortable. Also, the suggestions they had were less expensive than all the tests the other vet was suggesting. They wanted to do things step by step to save some money and observe her as well. My wife came home with our Princess, armed with some antibiotics and other medication to keep her going. We canceled a quick summer trip to tend to our cat. The next day, our cat woke us up eating and walking around like normal... It was a bit surreal compared to a few days ago, we were so overjoyed! She was responding positively to what they suggested! We had to go back for a revisit and we decided to continue the treatment and do the blood work. After a day, we found out that it was not the kidney issue we were so afraid of. We were so relieved... Today, our cat is so calm and back to her normal self... Even better than how she was just before she got sick... We thank you All About Cats, Dr. McCormick, the other vets and the assistants for all your help, care, concern, and your sensitivity to family's budgets. You are an amazing team and we would not take our cat anywhere else and would recommend your services to all cat lovers! Thank you! Our Princess has a new lease in life! She looks fully recovered! Overall this is the place to go for your cats care. We brought our beautiful angel missy for care here over the last year or so. It was a bit of a unique situation as it was an elderly cat (23 years old!) with special circumstances. Dr. Berquist was a good caregiver. Being that old of a cat with health issues and not a lot of time left we decided to take the path of making her as comfortable as possible for the amount of life she had left. I do believe Dr. Berquist extended her life and made it comfortable for her at least the last 6 months. She was honest with us on the last visit about a month ago and said to prepare as it would not be long for her passing. Unfortunately we lost her this week as her health problems became too much for her to fight any longer and it was time to let her go :/. I do have to subtract one star as on the last visit a technician was way too rough with her. The last few visits with the doctor were very hard and stressful on her. She was was scared to death to come out of the cat carrier and the technician basically manhandled her out and she limped on her back leg the rest of the time she was alive. With that age and fragile of animal she should have been more sensitive. Read Less

Update: received lovely call from Dr. They've taken multiple steps to fix several issues from identification and marking of cage cards to communication. Great steps to improve! This review is more about management and then it is about my cats treatment. I took my cat in for three days of boarding. I brought my cat food and toys it was all contained in a plastic bag which I tied in a square knot, left-hand high... I'm peculiar like that. Three days later I picked her up, received the bag and I was told that she didn't eat very much. Now my cat is very, opinionated, stubborn shall we say. So hearing that she was uppity was not surprising. Then I get home. My bag was still tied with the square knot left-hand high. I open the bag her hard food still full, treats still full, two cans of wet food unopened. So, on the next business day I call in to tell them all this, she takes dutiful notes. And apologizes. I had weighed my cat and she lost about 6-7% weight in 3 days... not good but she did come home and ate like she's never been fed and she's getting back to normal weight. It appears that even though the clinic allegedly noted that I brought food for her, they gave her only clinic food. The complaint is... not one person from management or Doctor called to apologize. When a patient is treated this bad for three days new patient or old, there better be more than a secretary apologizing (hats off to her but she is not the responsible party here). No amends, just take my money. All about cats? All about Benjamin's? Read Less

I just wanted to thank All About Cats for being so kind to my husband and I whenever we would bring our babies to them. They were very thorough, and were good at updating us with any follow up calls or appointments as needed for our two senior cats. I have also used their boarding facilities more than usual due to travel, home remodel, and moving, and they were also so kind then as well. Sometimes things would come up at the last minute, and their efforts to fit them into their appointment schedule and boarding is truly appreciated. In fact, I was jealous that my kitty earned more comp nights there than I ever did at the local casino!!! LOL! Anyway, we have since moved from Las Vegas, but the doctors and staff at All About Cats have set a standard of expectation for me that is second to none. I can't recommend this cat clinic! They have no sense for the situation of the cat. But they are very good in selling lots and unnecessary tests and unnecessary medication. They are not interested of why your cat is sick, for example stress due to moving or so. I am very disappointed! They did unnecessary tests with my cat and sold unnecessary medication. This stressed my cat that much and made my cat more sick that a other animal clinic had to save my cat from passing away because of false diagnosis and on top stressing my cat with unnecessary and expensive tests. The unnecessary medication made my cat even more sick! Read Less

I like the idea that they are a hospital just for cats,   which is why I opted to bring my cat to them instead of her regular vet. The Vet, nurse, and receptionist were nice enough, but aren't the results and actual medical care the most important thing? The following is my Facebook post to a friend that had her cats at "All About Cats" about a month after my experience. To my FB friend:I really hope your kitties are OK. I am not happy with "All About Cats" I noticed  a small bumb on my six year olds tail near her butt. I was hoping it was a piece of food or a scab, but when it did not go away in a couple weeks, I took her to the Vet. They said it was not food, and there was a little scab, but they did not know what it was. They said I could wait and see, or have a biopsy. I said "will the biopsy tell us what it is? " They said "Yes" so I said, "let's do the biopsy" (I figured we were already at the vet so we might as well do it now instead of doing that traumatic car ride again.) Results come back: The Vet Says, " There were some Mast cells in the biopsy and that could be a bee or scorpion sting or a tumor." I said well why did we pay for the biopsy if you don't know anymore than you did before? The bump went away after 3 more weeks, so it must have been a sting of some kind. The point is they lied to me and kind of pressured me to have the bump removed after the biopsy results. Feeling disappointed with their ethics. Read Less

Loved it here! I needed a new vet closer to my new home and this one stands out with the huge cat sign out front. I stopped in to make my appointment and the front desk staff was very nice. Today we had our appointment, and again the front desk staff was very pleasant. Once in our room we met two doctors and an assistant. They were all very friendly, they seemed to really like cats and they were super sweet and gentle with my senior cat, who was a bit nervous. My cat urinated a little in his carrier and before doing anything, they were kind enough to clean him and his bed up a little. I thought that was really nice of them. Then I talked to the doctors, we talked about my cats needs and my wants. Then before treating him, they showed me a price sheet with all the recommended tests. It was perfect and I had no objections to anything. They took him in the back where they drew blood, and trimmed his nails. I even made an appointment for boarding this summer. I really liked everything about this place. Read Less

It's embarrassing to see a cat-specific clinic offering declaws. I'd expect that sort of outdated garbage from other clinics, but not from here. Other vets in the US (not to mention in other countries) has stopped offering to do the amputation, why don't you? I'm just one reviewer, but I have personally seen and lived with the effect of declawed cats. I've adopted them, I petsit some, and met others. They are unnecessarily uncomfortable in the best case, and in pain and aggressive in the worst case. Declawed cats have a high chance of developing litter box issues. I decided to bring her straight here. I am so happy I brought her here. The tech, I believe her name was rana, was so sweet and gentle to kitty. Dr. McCormick was absolutely amazing with her. She listened to every detail I had about kitty with her health issues and she took notes. She was very thorough with the procedure. She prescribed medicine and gave her two injections one for pain and another to help rehydrate her. I'm forever thankful for her kindness and generosity. Once home kitty immediately started running around and then eating and drinking and running some more. Something she hasn't done in months. Dr. Alyssa has cared for my cat previously. The facility is very nice, and Dr. Alyssa is very professional and caring. It is nice to have a place that specializes in cats. However, it does seem more costly than other veterinarians. They could not find out what was causing my cat to be sick and the bill was over $1000.00 in a very short time. Fortunately my cat got better on his own. Today I called with an urgent problem and the receptionist said they were totally booked (I made the call at 8am) and could not see my cat until the next day. She said I could bring my cat in, leave him there and a vet would see him between clients and call me. The receptionist was not very nice and seemed to be uninterested. This is not acceptable to me. When someone has a sick pet, it is important that they can be seen on an urgent basis. I will not go back there again. I gave 2 stars because once the animal is there, they seem to care. Maybe if a client goes there alot they make room but I am concerned that in an emergency they are unavailable or too busy. Maybe they are short staffed. Read Less

Sleepless night from around 4am on!  Our poor old man, 19 year old cat, Tigga cried due to an 'abscess' on his foot that was bleeding.  A month ago he was treated with a twelve day antibiotic, but it had not healed and we ran out.  Being the age of our Tiggy, the kennel is enough stress for him so to put him through cancer testing, etc would possibly kill him.  We'd like him to live his last few years, I hope, in peace and harmony. My groomer recommended this place.  The first visit is $20 so I called them and the receptionist was super nice and asked all the right questions such as what was Tigga's old vets number so they could get his medical records.  We scheduled the appointment for 3:40, but they called back within the hour and said there was a cancellation and could see him earlier.  Perfect.Pretty far from us and on a busy road, S. Durango.  Once we arrived, they're was a place for the heavy kennel, mouse toys for cats, very clean and large hospital.  The receptionists were super nice and immediately walked us to the exam room with two pages of paperwork to fill out.  I cannot express how friendly and accommodating they were.  As we waited in the room, there were pieces of valuable literature about cats such as if your cat gets stung by a bee, put baking soda on it, life span of your cat in human years, an internal diagram of cats and a healthy weight chart.  The nurse and vet thoroughly explained everything to us.  They understood that we didn't want to put Tig through any pain, especially after the vet said he had a weak heart when she listened to it.  It brought me to tears cause she said his days are numbered.  Obviously, I've had him since I was a teenager.  Tough to come to terms with, but he's still going strong.  If it wasn't for this darn whatever on his foot, he wouldn't even have a limp.  Good news knowing it isn't infected and we got more antibiotics to help with the pain.  Total bill was $103.  We'd pay anything to keep him alive, if it was all painless for him.  Hugs to you and your animals tonight! If you have cats this is the place to take them for excellent care. My cat has a chronic issue that was not being managed well at his previous vet. After ONE visit my cat's issue was diagnosed and we began managing it appropriately. My cat is also receiving acupuncture from his doctor and is healthier today than he has been in years. His fur is softer, he is actually engaging us in play and his pain is resolved WITHOUT meds. Also, I have never boarded my cats for fear they would be stressed. I took a chance with All About Cats and my cats came out of boarding HEALTHIER than when I dropped them off. The front desk and all assistants are professional and obviously care about what they do. I cannot say enough about this practice! They have made a huge difference in our lives and I am grateful for them :) Read Less

I've got a couple of jerk cats. One had a stank tooth. The other keeps peeing on things. Both had butt worms. We took them here as it's close to our house (my kitties do not tolerate the car). The vets cleared up the wormies, removed stank tooth, and then suggested a ton of kidney tests for pee-crazed cat. I get it, they have to rule out the bad stuff before they feel comfortable prescribing some no-pee pills. I'm not bothered by that. Fixing broken kitties can be expensive. But, they kept hounding us to add on additional tests and things. When you're concerned about your friends, and you're all emotional thinking that they will somehow pee themselves to death, you don't need the constant barrage of sales tactics. Their pushiness worked--we were pushed away. We'll be finding another vet to hopefully contain the fountain of urine that streams forth from our defective cat. Read Less

Yes I have a cat. My better half's cat. I just happen to live in her orbit. The cat chipped her tooth and developed an abscess so off we went. The place is very friendly and treats cats only. So if you have a feline for a friend or a child as some like to refer to their pets, you've found the right place. Provided you have a little extra room in your wallet because like other reviewers said, it's pretty pricey here. The service is great. Doctor is friendly and knows her animals. She called post surgery and updated us on our fur ball. The assistants are all good at what they do.There is one thing I did not care for and that's some of the charges for vaccines that they recommended for the cat. HIV vaccine for my indoor cat who is neutered was quite a bit unnecessary to me. HPV for cats. There's over 120 strains of HPV of which only 2 are the main culprits for humans, which strain is the cat inoculated against? But let's not go there. I have a pretty strong health background and I did not see merits in many of them.I am just a farm boy whose animals didn't get any of these shots living and roaming the wild so I hardly think some cat lounging around in Summerlin is going to be infected left and right. Other than that, you can trust this place for your pet. Read Less

Called early in the morning on a monday, someone had just walked into work and answered my phone call before the computers were even booted up. That's great customer service right there. They nice lady was able to get my cat Meowser in the same day for an emergency. I know she had a tooth abscess and as I have seen many tooth abscesses and swollen faces, a tooth abscess is no joke. They were super friendly and got us in an exam room right away as we brought our cat on a leash because she wouldn't cooperate into getting into her kennel. The doctor was very good at addressing our chief complaint of a tooth abscess. She didnt spend too much effort into scolding us that our cat was overweight and trying to sell us diet food as some vets have. Losing weight is an ongoing battle for our cat and many females in the world. The vet was able to get meowser in for a teeth cleaning and tooth extraction the next day. We let her stay overnight and she came back in one piece. A little drowsy, but back to normal in a couple days. The vet and staff was great as they had follow up calls to check on her. I feel very comfortable if I ever have to board my cat here too as they offer boarding and grooming services. Read Less

This place is the cat's meow! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! So much to say!The reception staff:They are soooooo sweet, friendly, and sympathetic. I called them for my kitty, who needed a check up, and got an appointment for a couple days after! They were absolutely lovely on the phone, and let me know that new kitty paperwork was on their website for faster service. On your first appointment day, you have to meet with the doctor in-person. So, don't go in thinking you are just going to drop off your kitty unless you have been told otherwise or you are an existing kitty patient. This just goes to show their level of care between the cat and their care giver.OK, let's talk about the office:How this place isn't stinky, I'll never know! IT IS SPOTLESS. It actually smells good! I didn't see ANY cat hair in the waiting room or patient rooms. I noticed that the cats that are being kept or boarded have a giant kitty play area with tons of toys and really nice habitats (not cages, but plexi glass boxes with cubby holes). There was even a big TV that was looping bird and mice videos, which had the cats totally captivated. It was very different to be in an office where the cats aren't crying and howling; they were quiet and seemed very content. The office has a lot of transparent rooms, so you can see the cats and the cats can get entertainment from seeing you. Now, the nurses and doctors:Ah! They are so amazing! My cat is super timid and she hates strangers. I was shocked how calm she was here. The nurses and Dr. Berquist did not use any force whatsoever to examine her. They gently spoke to her and gave her compliments. I could tell she was thinking "These are my people!" Dr. Berquist is extremely knowledgeable. You can tell that not does she know cats, but she's seen and treated it all. That being said, your kitty is treated as a special individual. My appointment ended up costing quite a lot, so Dr. Berquist came up with different financial options for me. Of course, I went with the most expensive and comprehensive option (A cat is a family member and should be treated as such). Dr. Berquist did not rush our appointment; in fact, it was quite the opposite. She went into great detail about my kitty's condition and how we could handle it. She didn't make assumptions, or give me absolutes. She was very realistic that there are still so much about cats we do not know. I can't express how happy I am with this place. Never in my life have met such a caring group of veterinarians and cat lovers. I think my cat actually ENJOYED going to the vet! Read Less

I took our cat, Ringo, to All About Cats after reading other reviews. I was not disappointed. The facility was spotless with no odors. I arrived on time with my information form I easily completed from their WEB page. I was quickly shown to an exam room and my vet came in soon after. The examination went quickly after very professional questioning listening about his problem. I was shown an ex-ray and given a very through explanation of Ringo's condition. The doctor was very patient in explaining several courses of action along with costs which were reasonable. There was no pressure in choosing treatment. I received a call early that evening regarding more lab test results. All About Cats was the most distant facility for me but I am glad I made the drive. Two Weeks Later: This is an addendum to the above review I wrote two weeks ago. Dr. Berquist was the Vet assigned to me by the front desk. She turned out to be an excellent choice for my Ringo. Ringo had a problem with wetting outside of his box. This was an off and on again thing. She took a x-ray and determined he had only one functioning kidney (not thought to be a current problem) and no kidney stones which we had suspected he had from experience with a previous cat. Ringo did have hip joint problems which she treated with an anti inflammatory med which she did not recommend for long term use. She speculated he would have found it painful to squat. She also recommended an over-the-counter fiber to soften his stool along with more canned wet food. All together this has worked for Ringo without busting my bank account. Treating animals has got to be a real challenge as they cannot tell us what is bothering them and just like people, a through medical examination will usually find more than one problem. The Vet must then discern what to treat and what can just be watched. Dr. Berquist not only did this but made follow up phone calls inquiring as to how he was doing and to answer my questions. I'm sure there are other good Vets, but I will be sticking with the winner I have found.Read Less

The staff is amazing. The facility is clean and calm. This is our first visit and we will definitely return as regular patients. They handled our cat Howie with love and affection. We came for a first time check up because Howie is a new addition to the family and came to us with matted fur: we want to have him groomed. I originally thought that he would need a complete shave, which would require anesthesia, and lots of money. Since the cat belongs to my teen, she is responsible for the cost. When the technician suggested that we could just have his matted areas shaved, we were very pleased. The entire visit, checkup, nails clipped, shots and shaving, took less than 30 minutes. And Howie loved the attention and we could tell he wasn't traumatized by the visit. We definitely recommend All About Cats! Read Less

I've been to several vets in the Las Vegas and Henderson area, and this is the only place that I trust with my cats. Dr. Berquist is our vet, and she's fantastic. The facility is clean, the staff is considerate and helpful, and the prices are more than fair. We had a very bad experience at a cat's only clinic in Henderson at Green Valley, and because of that my cat was afraid of going to the vet. Dr. Berquist and her staff understood, and dealt gently yet firmly with her, so that she was able to receive the treatments that she required, without being overly traumatized. I recommend All About Cats with absolutely no hesitation. My only point of dissatisfaction is that we've had to move to Dallas, and I think that All About Cats should move their clinic here, so we could still have Dr. Berquist and the entire staff and facility. Finding another vet clinic that's as good as All About Cats will not be an easy task. If you love your cats and desire their complete well being, then utilize this clinic, even if you have to drive longer than you'd like. You will not regret it! Read Less

My friend use to work there and she told me about all the ridiculous things that go on there, for example: don't bother showing up on time to your appointment because the doctor will purposely keep you waiting even if they have nothing else to do. They bad mouth almost every client that walks through the doors and have a system of labeling clients as crazy, smelly, or poor( and many more) inside their chart. They raised there vaccine prices from $30 a vaccine and a free exam to $50 for an exam and $45 for each shot and they spend maybe 10 minutes with you. I also heard that they almost doubled the prices of the routine surgeries and make you pay for things that you don't need. The good thing about this facility is the boarding. I hear they are great with boarding and have a nice area separate from the hospital where they keep the boarders. As for regular vet care I would go elsewhere. I want a vet that will care for my cats without only thinking about how much money she can get out of me. Read Less

Other vets in the US (not to mention in other countries) has stopped offering to do the amputation, why don't you? I'm just one reviewer, but I have personally seen and lived with the effect of declawed cats. I've adopted them, I petsit some, and met others.

Read Less

My wife and I have been taking our three cats to All About Cats for approxi four years when we moved to the southwest side of town. We have been to other vet hospitals in Las Vegas before, but the service that we get from the doctors and the staff has been way above average. Dr. Koppe is kind to our cats, especially our grumpy one, Henry (he doesn't really enjoy going in the car to see the doctor). Her assistants are nice, and seem like true cat-people with a lot of experience. They've even called us after our cats have been sick to see if they are feeling better! I'm surprised to read the negative reviews because we have had good experience with short wait times and helpful staff. We have been more than pleased with the way we have been treated by everyone in the office and feel very welcomed by everyone there. Their prices seem fair, and we feel that we have gotten our money's worth. We think All About Cats is great and can't recommend it enough. We're happy to have found them.

Read Less
