I was 10 minutes late (which is completely my fault, I mistook my appointment to be at 2:30 instead of 2:00). I was turned away by the receiptionist, saying the only alternative would be to reschedule (they book out several weeks in advance), and they will still charge me in full for my appointment. While I understand being late was my error, any reasonable person in customer services could AT LEAST give me an opportunity to wait however long till a veterarian became available. No one was in waiting room. Only two cars in the parking lot. There was no effort to accommodate my dog and I. Read Less

Dr Trimmer is certainly the kindest, most knowledgeable and most helpful veterinarian we have ever met. She helped our kitty Jack with his chronic upper respiratory and allergy issues for many years and greatly improved the quality of his life. His condition was very difficult to treat and Dr Trimmer was the first doctor to get a handle on his illness and was always there for us when we needed advice and suggestions for his care. Her staff members are all very professional and her office is bright, cheery and immaculately clean. We came to see her from out of state and it was always worth the trip. We would recommend her without hesitation to anyone who has a pet with allergy issues. Read Less

After waiting 5 weeks to bring my cat in for severe hair pulling and scratching, Dr Gould , resident asked what we wanted to do as far as blood test, biopsy, etc. (about 4 days prior to the appt my cat developed other issues, loosing weight. She was obviously sick) When we made the decision for a biopsy we were told We'd have to come back the next morning or wait an hour an a half at 6pm (our appt was 3pm) because GOULD was now seeing other patients. That was what we went for was to see what my cat was allergic to. We then said to do blood tests and a blood pressure test. They took my cat back (2nd time so it was no surprise how thin she was they already did a scratch test) and stated her blood pressure was low and my cat was dehydrated, needed hydration and they were afraid because of her being dehydrated the blood draw would make her worse and she needed to go to ER now. After bringing her to ER, within 15 minutes the Doctor said her blood pressure was NOT low, since she was eating and drinking did NOT need to be hydrated and they said they didn't see a problem taking blood and they felt a mass in her abdomen area. The ER doc also said Puss, my cat was walking around greeting people in the other room. I took my cat home. Resident GOULD didn't do a general exam or she would have felt the mass. I've brought all of my animals to various specialist in the past and they ALL do a basic general exam. GOULD also wrote in her report my cats thyroid was not in control and I stressed her blood tests were all normal including her thyroid that she was on meds for was normal and explained the course of action my regular vet did to try to keep Puss comfortable until her long awaited appointment with the dermatologist. When making the appt, they do ask who your tegular vet is. If they ordered my cats records prior to her appointment they would have read her history. There are too many other things that occurred to write but this is NOT over. I already went to my regular vet and showed her the discrepancies from GOULD and the ER. My regular vet was so surprised at what happened because Dr Trimmer has a great reputation. I told my vet it wasn't Dr Trimmer and I waited 5 weeks to get a resident. I WISH I would have gotten Dr Trimmer who has wonderful reviews but I ended up getting someone who comes across as arrogant (another discussion with her that will be addressed at a later date), speaks like Kim Kardashian and ends her sentences with a voice inflection that sounds like a question when it wasn't. If you go to this Animal Dermatologist, be ready to wait if your a new patient anywhere from 5-8 weeks to be seen. By then depending on the severity of your loved ones allergies, it could be a matter of life and death. (I read another review they turned away a dog patient who was a walk in who was bleeding profusely from their ears. There was no one waiting in the waiting room. They couldn't see their dog for a month. Their dig died). My cat is now home and her days are numbered and I'm keeping her comfortable. I'm focusing all of my time on my baby for now. Like I said, this matter is NOT over. Read Less

2 months ago my dog went to the ER where all of a sudden she started bleeding on her muzzle and ears where it wouldn't stop. The ER doctor told me to go here next day because he said if anyone can figure out what's going on with my dog it would be them. So I drove down here with my dog and as soon as I walk in they see her non stop bleeding they said they couldn't see her until a month later. I told them she will die by the time the appointment comes. After seeing my regular vet and some new doctors to get tests and some answers on what is happening to my dog. Guess what happened to my dog? She died exactly 1 month after coming here trying to get help on what her condition was. The day she died in the ER I saw a different doctor and he said that she has an autoimmune disease and I should put her down because it went to her paw pads falling off. Read Less

Brought my 6yo boxer, Slugger, for his allergy flare-up.  Coming from Los Angeles with his environmental allergies but suddenly disappearing as soon as we moved here in April 2017. But was reminded by Dr.Gould that so many out of state new residents are bringing in their plants and it's starting up again. Excellent point!!! Shame on me though I didn't bring any plants but saw similar plants as Slugger and I ventured out into the new neighborhood. Duh, those are the ones he likes to snuggle into. Slugger and Dr. Gould 5 points, me zero points.Having Slugger's previous dermatologist faxed in all his medical records assisted Dr. Gould and staff to pinpoint the situation quickly.  All paws up for AADS from Slugger.  He's doing great and has new friends at AADS.  Good thing about Slugger is he likes to go out to vet offices.  So sometimes he gets into a fit and plays us so he can see his vet friends.Hey, that's why we have dog medical insurance to cover those visits also.See everything in September for follow-up. This is a money factory, really hustle you in, charge a fortune and give the dog an off the shelf treatment.  Dr. Trimmer recommended a dose of 40 mg of Claritin per day, this is 4 x the human dose.  Dr. Trimer said that dogs process medications much quicker than humans and it was therefore 100 safe.   My dog's hair fell out and he got bad dandruff.  Within one day of stopping the medication, all symptoms began clearing up.  Really, I am not prone to complaining or leaving negative reviews, but I do feel there are far better options for your pet than this money factory Read Less

Nearly a year ago my beagle mix had begun scratching her skin repetitively to the point of causing severe open wounds all over her face. I took her to our regular vet, who ran every single test and prescribed us every single medication and shampoo there is to offer. Nothing worked. We changed her food multiple times, at the recommendation of the vet, and still no luck. After about 7 months of my poor baby living with a cone around her neck, we finally took matters into our own hands and called and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Trimmer.I didn't know what to expect upon arrival. My regular vet had mentioned that Dermatology Vets are very expensive, and to be prepared for that, but that was all I really knew. I arrived with my dog on a Saturday appointment, which the office so kindly was able to fit me in for, since at the time I worked weekdays. The office is well-kept, clean, and very spacious, and the staff is pretty friendly. I haven't interacted much with the front office staff, so I can't say much about them, but Dr. Trimmer and every single nurse or assistant that has helped me have been top notch! Dr. Trimmer seems very genuinely concerned about the health and well-being of not just my beagle mix, but also my other dog at home. She really takes her time with us while we're there, and I feel like she really listens to my concerns and what I have to say. In fact, one Saturday a few months ago, the office was getting ready to close for the day, but Dr. Trimmer and her staff stayed open just so we could have allergy testing and a steroid bath done. I really admired that they did that for us/her!It has been a very long process, and it seems that we are still on the path to try and figure out exactly what is triggering her scratching, but my baby is so much happier and healthier because of them. The only drawback is that my regular vet was right- they are very expensive! I don't think we've ever had an appointment with them that's been less than $400, so keep that in mind. However, these appointments have been very in-depth, usually consisting of testing, multiple medications, bathing, etc. I'm sure that costs vary depending on the issue your pet is having, but I do know the consultation fee itself is over $100, so keep that in mind too.Overall, I highly recommend these guys to anyone and everyone. Heck, if she were just a regular vet and didn't specialize, I'd probably make her my regular vet too, cause she's just that good. Go- you won't be disappointed. Read Less

The staff was amazing and friendly! My first visit with Dr. Trimmer was great. Dr. Trimmer is extremely nice and wasnt afraid to pet my dirty (she wasnt bathed) dog! Lol Her compassion and care she showed my dog was heart warming. She cared about the hair loss and the itching my dog went threw. She agreed that my dog had a environmental allergy rather than food. They made an estimate for me and was reasonable for the treatment and service they provide and the staff she hired. When the actual testing was done the nurse was extremely nice and helpful explaining why I was charged for things (went above estimate but for valuable reasons!) The nurse went threw every allergen my dog had and the treatment plan and the shot to give and how to be given. Nurse kept complimenting my dog which come on who doesnt love that! Im so happy i went to Dr. Trimmer and her team! I will update probably in a year to review the results (which is not the staff or drs fault if it doesnt work but maybe people want to know) Read Less

Absolutely amazing. Cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Trimmer. She is incredibly thoughtful, careful and thorough. My dog Penelope has had a painful auto immune disorder for years. I was told it would just be managed with medicine - that's a pain in the ass to give because I'm the only one she will swallow it for - and there's nothing else to be done. But because of Dr. Trimmer and her great staff, they determined her flare ups were due to vaccines! She tracked down Penelope's charts and completely solved the problem. And in the mean time, adjusted meds and are monitoring her just to make sure. Dr. Trimmer and her staff could not be nicer. Added bonus - the clinic/office is gorgeous and CLEAN. We've seen quite a few vets, in cities other than Vegas as well, and this office is by far the best. Read Less

There is no way my dog would be alive if it weren't for Dr. Trimmer. She has not only helped him with his itching but is also always working to keep him on the right amount of medication to give him a better quality of life. My dog has Cushings Disease and it can be a very delicate balance to keep him feeling good. Dr. Trimmer goes above and beyond and deals with the dog's overall health. She looks at how all systems are working together instead of just prescribing medication. I was initially skeptical about spending the money to take my dog to a specialist, but I ended up saving money! She got to the root of the problem and solved it quickly instead of going to my regular vet which was costing me a lot money trying so many different things that weren't working. My dog is about to celebrate his 15th birthday thanks to Dr. Trimmer. I am so glad that I found her! I also have a second dog that I take to her for allergies and she is doing great as well! Both of my dogs love to go to this vets office. They treat my dogs with so much love and care! The staff is very professional, caring and always gets back to me quickly with answers when I call in. First let me start off by saying how much it saddens me to have to write this review, but we feel it is necessary at this point to share our awful experience. We have two English bulldogs who both suffer from allergies, our male more than the female but between the two we have spent a small fortune with Dr. Trimmer in order to ensure that they are not suffering. We have been taking our dogs to AADS for about a year, and our male bulldog was put on allergy desensitization injections. Our dog responded well to the first few doses however about halfway through his therapy he had an EXTREMELY SEVERE allergic reaction. His face and neck swelled to nearly double in size and he was struggling to breathe. This injection was given in the evening so we had to take him to the emergency clinic. When we got there they rushed him to the back and injected him with benadryl and steroids. They hooked him up to IV fluids and kept him in the O2 chamber all night. This type of reaction in a brachycephalic animal is time sensitive, had we not reacted in time we absolutely would have lost our precious boy. He was able to come home the next day at 8:30am but we were warned of a possible relapse episode, so it was advised that we contact the vet that prescribed this injection ASAP, they would also be contacting them as well. So I called at 9:00am and spoke to Brie and explained what happened. I requested that they call in an RX for an epi-pen or a benadryl injection in case he had a relapse episode, she stated that was an "excellent idea" and would run it by the Dr. I also reminded her that I am 6 months pregnant and my husband would be at work so if our dog did have a reaction he is 70 pounds, I would be physically helpless so there was a sense of urgency for me to have this injection. 1:30 rolls around and I have not heard from anyone, I know how busy they are so I'm doing my best to be patient but at the same time there is a difference between being busy and being negligent. So I called them and spoke to  Amanda ,I gave her the short version of what happened and she says "I'll leave a message for Brie, she's washing a dog", so I asked to speak to Nancy the office manager and she was also not available, so I asked for her to call me, thinking that at the very least if Brie were busy that maybe Nancy could handle this for me.  I get a call back from Nancy almost an hour later and I get a bunch of excuses about how "they are double booked and Dr. Trimmer needs time to configure the calculation for the dosage our dog would need" etc. So I told her that "my first phone call to alert everyone was at 9 am, five plus hours I had been waiting"  and that if "I were the Dr I would have a sense of urgency and take the 10-15 minutes out of my day in order to ensure that my dog get what he needs", her response to me is "well you signed a waiver" she then HANGS UP ON ME! First of all we never once placed blame on Dr. Trimmer for prescribing this injection, even though it almost killed him. We are competent enough to know that sometimes people/animals alike do not react well to things and in this case there was no way to know until he had the terrible reaction, but to have  the "you signed a waiver" thrown in our face when we had just been through quite an ordeal is appalling. About 15 minutes later I get a call from Brie that our RX had been called in (convenient), she also let me know that the epi-pen would cost $600. I thanked her for calling in the RX finally but expressed my upset at how poorly Nancy had treated me, I was actually crying out of pure frustration. Her response to this was "Nancy had to tell a patient their dog had cancer and was stressed out", I am empathetic to that however we almost lost ours the night before and she was not inclined to help us. We all have stressful aspects of our job and maybe she can't handle hers, but don't take it out on me. We never received an apology from anyone or even a call from Dr. Trimmer to see how our dog was doing. Needless to say we will not be back. We want our dogs to be treated by people/staff who truly care, not people who leave you hanging in a time of need. (side note: I called our reg. vet to inform him of what happened and he drew up benadryl injections for us to have on hand at home for $90) something Trimmer easily could have done for us. They were not looking out for our pockets or our animals apparently. Read Less

Horrible customer service and today was the last straw.  I've spent a small fortune at this place and have always been on time and kept my appointments.  After waiting 8 WEEKS for an appointment I got one today.  Mind you, every single time I have been there I wait to see the Doc.  One time was a 1/2 hour.  While I didn't love waiting, I get it.  Happens for human docs too!  Anyway, I call at 9:07 as I sat in traffic on Desert Inn while a 4 car accident wqas getting cleaned up and people put in ambulances.  I get there at 9:15 AND THEY CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT!  Nobody else in the waiting room!  We got into a discussion which escalated into an argument.  I will never step foot into this place again.  Filled with rude, condescending, passive aggressive people.  Hope my dog can get the meds he needs.  They denied my pet medication because I was 15 minutes late.  Shame on them and shame on anyone who goes here. I am only giving this place 1 star because I have too.  I scheduled a follow up appt because its been a little over 1 year and tis the allergy season.  They ended up cancelling the appt and then pushing me out farther.  Once I rescheduled (my sweet pup who has cancer by the way) is scratching her eyes like crazy.  She began bleeding pretty significantly, so I called to see if they could squeeze me in, that I didn't want her last months if she lives that long to suffer.  They couldn't even give me any topical treatment to help ease her discomfort, nothing b/c I hadn;t been there in a year.  Then they call my veternarian asking for 10 years of records from my dog.  They were rude, and obnoxious and do not care about the welfare of animals.  What happened to Dr. Coyner - when she was here, this place was amazing!  I hope these people go out of business! Dr. Trimmer & Staff are simply AMAZING!!!!!! My dog (a dachshund) has been a patient of Dr. Trimmers for about 2 1/2 years. She literally keeps my LuLu alive! We originally thought that LuLu had cancer. Once we found out that it wasn't our regular Vet sent us to Dr. Trimmer. Upon walking into her office, I thought my baby was going to die. Dr. Trimmer's staff welcomed me and my dog. They assured me that would take great care of her and that she would be fine! That they did....... I couldn't have asked for a better Specialist to see my "special needs" dog :-) Dr. Trimmer & Staff go OVER and BEYOND in helping our dog. We look forward to visiting the office every month. I was turned away by the receiptionist, saying the only alternative would be to reschedule (they book out several weeks in advance), and they will still charge me in full for my appointment.

Read Less

But because of Dr. Trimmer and her great staff, they determined her flare ups were due to vaccines! She tracked down Penelope's charts and completely solved the problem. I never feel like they don't have time for me. This is an amazing place and I highly recommend it! Read Less

Read Less

Dr. Trimmer has been able to figure out how to cure every skin, ear, and allergy issue my 2 boxers have had. I don't even bother going to my regular vet first because usually I end up here anyway. She is detailed, knowledgable, and definitely cares about her patients. Visits are not cheap, but definitely worth every penny. She will give you options to work with your budget if needed and will explain all the treatments so you can consider all factors before deciding what to do. I wish she treated people! Read Less

They are like family!! Thank you Dr. Trimmer & Staff for all you do! Read Less

The place was really nice!!! Very clean and didn't seem or feel like a vets office. The staff was exceptional. They were very polite and helpful both when I entered the office as well when I checked out.  Dr. Trimmer was exceptional.   I brought my baby a 10 month old Shar Pei to Animal Allergy and Dermatology for his chronic ear infections.  Dr. Trimmer and I talked about what was going on with my baby and once she took swabs of his ears she decided to put him on an antibiotic regiment as well as put him on a special diet.
