Animal House Veterinary Hospital

Las Vegas, Nevada
General Info
Animal House Veterinary Hospital provides Las Vegas families with pet care services that merge personal familiarity and clinical exactness while extending its reach across Nevada through real-life compatible planning. Every visit starts with questions about household changes including new foods and supplements and variations in energy levels social behaviors and bathroom patterns. Veterinarians conduct physical exams from head to tail where they assess joint function muscle tone oral health skin texture weight history and internal sounds all of which are recorded in medical records. Animal House Veterinary Hospital delivers preventive exams, vaccinations, internal testing along with weight and diet support while managing pain and conducting dental evaluations plus providing in-house treatments for allergies, ear infections and mobility problems. Depending on a pet's age and health conditions, veterinarians might suggest staggered appointments for chronic management alongside seasonal checkups for routine examinations. When symptoms evolve over time or behavioral changes suggest complexity, advanced care might necessitate laboratory tests or imaging studies. Customers depart equipped with both physical notes and digital access to their charts, timelines, and reminders. Veterinary follow-up schedules depend on pet species combined with disease severity and owner lifestyle. Multiple animal households and various caretakers frequently choose bundled visits or staggered schedules to enhance convenience. Depending on need professionals might recommend behavior plans while suggesting home mobility changes. Animal House Veterinary Hospital strives to enhance veterinary care consistency while reducing stress levels for pet owners in Las Vegas. Establishing momentum through consistent practices while adjusting to Nevada life enables owners to take early action and maintain awareness while receiving support throughout their journey.

Please do not take your pets here. I took my 6 year old Pitbull to have her checked out. She had eaten a lot of grass and wouldn't eat her own food. Dr Francis wanted to keep her overnight, so I said my goodbyes and left her under his care. The next morning I tried calling multiple times with no answers. They are supposed to be open at 8 am. I called and called, with no response until around 10 am. He said he was on a house call and that he wouldn't be back to the office until 1 pm. He had no information for me on my dog. I was parked in his parking lot when I received the call so I knew nobody was there. I called the Veterinary board to see if there was anything they could do to get me in to see my dog. I went home and an hour later got a call from Dr Francis that nobody should have to get. My dog had passed some time in the night or early morning. Alone. Not being monitored. Please, if for any sort of emergency, take your pets elsewhere. Also, the Veterinary board DID say that he needs to change his hours to reflect him being private practice and possibly call ahead only - and the hours still have not been changed. Will be reporting this to the board. Read Less

I've been bringing my German Shepherd here since I rescued her in 2005 when she was only about 9 months. Dr. Francis has always been nothing but honest and professional towards me and loving and caring to my dog. After reading some of the the lower rated reviews for Animal House Veterinary Hospital I was really surprised! but then again, most people only write reviews to complain. So about a few things that other's had said Price - It's understandable that most people feel that his rates are a little high. Just like for a human being, proper and accurate health care without insurance is far from cheap and any time that's spent talking with a doctor is rarely free. Be sure to ask if the consultation is free. If costs are not specified right away be sure to ask about those as well. From my experience they have always worked with me involving any prices. So give him a chance because I'm sure you'll find a price that you both can agree to. Vet's Availability / Only Secretary's in - If he's not there, he does take emergencies at all hours of the day AND night so he can be quite busy at times. Also keeping the number of staff low helps to keep down the customer costs. Besided even veterinarians need to eat and sleep people! So if you don't have time to wait or just don't want to, try to make an appointment or call to be sure the vet is in before driving over. Smell - it smells like a kennel because it is a kennel. It doesn't smell that bad to me. I've been to a lot of kennels that smelled much worse. To me just smells kinda like an outside dog. All I can say is I've had nothing but a positive experience with Dr. Francis and Animal House and hope to continue seeing him for many years to come. Read Less

We got our pug "Dutchess" from someone who could not care for her. We weren't told this until after, she had medical needs for her eyes because she could not produce normal tears. I had no $$$ to pay every month for her meds. This vet doctor has helped us out a lot by giving her only the meds she needed at a fraction of the cost, saving us money. Our animals get their spay & neuter here for affordable cost, they have their usual specials each month for this (to keep bad breeding population down & out of shelters). Dutchess passed away a couple years ago and now we have a new pup, which I am going to take to this vet for all her caring needs. No vet doctor has ever gone out of their way to help me in a time of need, except this doctor. Why not a 5 star? Because It's been 2+ years since I have been there.... so I'm saving that extra star. The secretary had absolutely no clue what she was doing and EVERY question I asked was answered with "I don't know". Well the vet finally shows up and we go with my dog to the exam room. I basically wanted an estimate for putting my dog down to which I was quoted almost 500 dollars. Um, yeah go F yourself with that! So I said no and he wants 50 dollars for looking at her for literally about 30 seconds. Again, go F yourself. He saved our dogs life more than once, and when she was diagnosed with Cancer, did his best to give us more time with her.... and when the time came to say good bye to her.... he was with us until the very end, after hours so we had privacy to share those last moments. He had also met us at the office after hours when she got sick.  Try getting the clinic type hospitals to personalize your care that way. Dr Francis always worked with us and with our family on costs.  If you want cheap clinic care....this is not the place..  If you want someone who is fair, smart, and caring...   you can't find a better vet. I have 2 rabbits, and the nails were getting too long. One rabbit started getting sores on heels, because the weight was transferred to heels. I was looking for a vet to trim nails, and found the animal house. They were able to get nails trimmed on both rabbits for only $25 total. They were open on a saturday, and I did not need an appointment. The VCA clinic sucks, because they want to charge $70 just to look at the rabbit, and another 22 for a nail trim. The VCA also does not seem to have anyone available to see rabbits, only on certain days. The banfield hospital at petsmart also sucks because they only have a rabbit person on certain days of the week, charge tons of money. The grooming people at petsmart also only trim nails of only cats or dogs.  Thanks animal house. You guys were able to help me out, for a reasonable cost, and convenient. My one rabbit, the heels are already doing better. The other rabbit seems happier that her nails are trimmed also. Read Less

Went in this morning 3/13/2015 to see the place, meet the people and find out what prices etc on shots for dogs and cats. When we first walked in the smell hit us full in the face. Really bad and smelled like dirty kennels. Asked a few questions and got short answers that did not give us the information we were looking for to try this vet out. AND as we were still asking questions the guy said "anything else?". Like I said we were still asking questions when he said that. We then asked about cats and what shots were included and he could not even answer a question about the feline leukemia shot. At that point it was how fast we could run away. If this is how they treat people customers I have a really big question as to how they would treat our pets especially when nobody is looking. Guess they did not want our business so we will go back to our Sunridge Heights Vet. We are in the east valley but will make the trip to green valley happily knowing our family members will be taken care of. Read Less

If you're looking to pay for a veterinarian that just gives your dog hot dogs just  to like them or act like they care about your dog you can go to be VCA... Mind you there was like a 20 minute wait list when you go there ever since I've adopted both my dogs I've been going to this clinic he's reliable and always has been honest with me he tells me what should be done but let me make the decision I want to be done... They have discounts off on Fridays and Saturdays 4 shots.. They may be just a few dollars more than the Animal Foundation but its well worth it when it comes to time Animal Foundation two hours Animal House 20 minutes or less I would have to say less each time I visit has been less than 15 minutes recently my dog was sick and he was able to offer me everything at this facility...  the veterinarian is a different culture so i dont always  understand  him.. But what I do understand is that he is knowledgeable when it comes to your pet and is going to always offer his opinion when it comes to upselling for your dog's care remember this is a business this is not non-profit organisation that being said you have a right to say yes or no to the extra services.. And he doesn't make you feel guilty for it like my experience with the VCA had.... These are my furbabies I get to choose a treatment for them and choose who they go to I would choose knowledge and cost over how friendly somebody is to my dog... I continue to take my dogs here in fact I'm on my way there right now to get my dog updated on his shots... Read Less

Dr. Francis was my mom's vet before I got out of the house and I've been going to him for over 20 years.  He's nursed my sick shelter foster kitties back to health, done surgery on kitty that had an abscess on her neck/throat, and he even saved a dog I had just acquired a few days prior from Parvo. It is a nice private practice, he doesn't have a bunch of partners, and he even has a low-cost shot clinic.  Appointments are not hard to get and he also allows walk-ins.Yes, his office isn't fancy, but his prices are very affordable and the care he gives is above par.  He is always willing to explain things to me...and I understand him just fine. All vets charge an office visit.  If you expect to pay for just shots without paying for the Doctor's time, go the Animal Foundation's shot clinic and wait around with everyone else. Priority to white women only. Doesn't matter if dog is sick. Well I can't say much of his technical ability since I never had a chance to see him but.... My two month old puppy has been vomiting so wanted to take to vet asap. I showed up at 9 am (they open at 8) but was told Vet won't be in till 11. Ask if I needed to make an appointment but was told they take me right in since I showed up so early. Showed up at 11:03 am and had to wait 15 minutes before got in room 1. At 11:05 am a Caucasian women came in with her spaniel mix. While waiting in room, Vet came by once to tell me he be "right with me". Instead, he took her to room 2 and then started evaluating her dog. I was able to hear everything since both our doors were open and we were across from each other. Apparently she just adopted the dog and wanted to know what age and thing to start up with.... but remember, I have a sick puppy. An HOUR later, I just decided to walk out. The Vet seemed not to be phased because he was STILL helping the lady in the dog evaluation. I mean, "take the dog baths, how well does it walk, ect," Things that are not an emergency. Needless to say, it was a terrible experience. All I wanted is the Vet just to look at the dog for a second. His priorities as a veterinarian are messed up. Read Less

I have nothing but fantastic things to say about this place (and that's coming from someone who is two dogs away from being the 'crazy dog lady' - i.e., I have pretty high vet standards).  Dr. Francis explained exactly what he was doing at every step of the check-ups and vaccinations because he wants pet owners to be as informed about their pets as they would expect to be about their own medical decisions - and, in addition, he was fantastic at handling both my dog and cat. It is a small business and, consequently, the building is pretty small and cozy.  It'd not decked out in fancy decorations, but the prices aren't outrageous either, so I'm all about the utilitarian approach (it was ~$75 total for the yearly check-up and all vaccinations for a cat and a 50 pound dog). My pet was not given proper care at this facility and the result of the improper care was amputation of his leg. Dr. Francis took advantage of our inexperience with veterinarians as this was the first we had had to deal with anything other than vaccines. Along with the improper care of my dog's leg, we were also given bad advice and not told everything we should have been told. We were also charged way more than we should have been for the follow-up visits. I know all of this because after Dr. Francis dismissed my concerns one day and didn't take a look at my dog's leg, I took my dog to another veterinarian and the difference in the care and the charges was obvious. Dr. Francis should not have a license to treat any pet. I know we were taken advantage of and my regret for my pet is that I took him to Dr. Francis and if I had not, he might still have his leg. I didn't ask him to do anything. He forced us in the back so that he could force us to pay the $50 checkup fee... I never asked for a checkup. I never had a chance to ask for anything. Also, he will tell you he has to run all these unnecessary test just to charge a lot of money. Don't come here... No help at all. He will force you in the back and force you to pay $50... I will post again... with update, experience. Read Less

Unethical, dishonest thief. Did annual blood work for my beloved maltese, find out that she was in severe kidney failure. This so called "doctor" wanted me to clean her dental fully knowing that her life was in extreme danger. All he cared about was how much money he can extract from his client. When I declined his offer, he got extremely agitated. So I just let him clean my other dogs teeth - and the scumbag charged me over 1k for his blood test & dental work. He charged me DOUBLE what he nomally charges. This place need to be shut down and vet should be deport back to India. STAY AWAY Read Less

Absolutely horrible experience. First of all I showed up at 11am and had to wait about 45 minutes for the vet to get there. Seeing other reviews, why is he always gone? The secretary had absolutely no clue what she was doing and EVERY question I asked was answered with "I don't know". Well the vet finally shows up and we go with my dog to the exam room. I basically wanted an estimate for putting my dog down to which I was quoted almost 500 dollars. Um, yeah go F yourself with that! So I said no and he wants 50 dollars for looking at her for literally about 30 seconds. Again, go F yourself. He threatens to call the cops because I refused to pay that, so I call his bluff and tell him to call the cops. Surprise surprise, he gets angry and tells me to leave. First, he is never at the clinic when I need him. Second, he lies, cheats and over charges - you really have to watch out what he is charging you for. If you don't, he will rip you off in a second. We had to euthanize our beloved pet cat Lola yesterday. When I made the appointment the doctor is the one that answered the phone and he asked me what time I would like the appointment for so there would be no one else in the office because this was such an emotional time. The only reason there is 4 stars instead of 5 is because when I asked for the price he only gave me the price for the procedure it self and not the incidentals that go along with it. Which we didn't expect when we went. The staff is great. Read Less

Dr. Francis and his wife and staff have always been amazing..   I have referred everyone that I know here..   We took our 6 week old Puppy to him 11 years ago for a well check....and his was very thorough and explains everything clearly.
