This is the most amazing veterinary clinic I have ever been too!!! Their biggest concern is the pets they see everyday, not the money that brings them here. My beautiful great dane ended up with an immune weakness that cause a rapid case of demodex mange, a rescue told me I only option was to put her down, I was referred here and Dr Jay Holt, has taken completely care of my baby girl. From short wait times to progress reports if your pet needs a procedure, Animal Kindness more than lives up to their name. The office is always spotless and the staff is top notch. You can even get your Animal Planet fix while waiting in the exam room. Any one who thinks of their pets as family and wants the best care for them needs Animal Kindness! My Sammy needed oral surgery and while he was recovering, the staff talked to him to make him feel comforted and a part of the office action. My puppy, Ellie received her puppy shots and lots of attention. She even got her 5 minutes of fame by being pictured on their Facebook page. Since I retired to Las Vegas, NV in 2005, I have taken each and every one of our furbabies to Animal Kindness Veterinary Hospital for their care. I could not ask for a better staff/vet(s) to help me through the tough times I have had and the good times as well. My latest pets are doing so well under the care of Animal Kindess because of the professional guidance and information I recieve during my visits here. I even get to play technician when I bring Molly in for her K-Laser! For anyone that isn't sure about this procedure it was recommended by the staff and was something I had never heard of. I highly recommend this veterinary practice. The staff is friendly and caring, and the facilities are very clean. They have separate entrances for cats or dogs, and usher you into a treatment room right away so that you don't have to worry about a pet that is already stressed from not feeling well having the added stress of "socializing" with other animals. This is my Yelp review: I have immense respect for Dr. Jay Holt and his entire staff. They are heroes. The front desk staff are warm, personable and caring. The techs are compassionate, knowledgeable and capable. Dr. Holt is...well, I don't have words to describe him. He listens! He thinks! He recommends! He explains! Having just moved to Las Vegas, across country, from Atlanta, my 10 year old labradoodle needed her urinary incontinence meds refilled. Doc suggested a BP check (meds cause high BP) and radiographs (to rule out stones and check kidneys). My vets in Atlanta never, ever ran these tests. Dr. J found a splenic mass and we opted for surgery. I was thoroughly educated on my dog's surgery and her survival chances in a gentle, but "no sugar-coating" way. I was called immediately after surgery and given an update. Aftercare instructions were clear. The staff even helped me get my pup in my car. I was checked on the next day via telephone. Follow-up visits were quick and easy. Dr. Holt even filmed her amazing surgery. My dog, under incredible care from an incredible staff, made it. Through good visits and emotionally devastating visits they have been nothing but kind, compassionate and honest with me every step of the way. Over the last few weeks we've had the worst of luck with our pets. A couple weeks ago I took in our bully to get a check-up and it just so happens she was diagnosed with lymphoma. Within a few days her symptoms progressed dramatically, and we decided the best thing to do was put her out of her misery. Seeing her in pain was far worse than having to lay her to rest. I kid you not, It was one of the hardest things to do! About a week later I received a letter in the mail from Animal Kindness with the saying "For those we have lost, but remember in our hearts. Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow". Some of the staff signed the card and what stuck out the most was one saying "let us know if you need anything". This clinic and its staff are beyond comforting and helpful!!! Weeks later my pregnant chihuahua goes into labor and lasted about 13 hours trying to push her puppies out. Family and friends kept telling me it was normal and that she would take long being that it was her first time. I finally had enough and decided it was not normal for her to be contracting for so long with dilating at all and we went to see doctor holt. Although he was busy and all the rooms were occupied, they had us in the back, and in between his rounds he checked on her. After doing a physical exam and and xray, we found that her two puppies were way too big to pass and she needed an emergency c-section. Being financially stable or not I was not going to let my baby suffer anymore and they did everything they could to help accommodate my struggles, and basically saved her life. Unfortunately both puppies did not make it, but they did everything they could to get the puppies going. Dr. Holy was even nice enough to let me watch, as he could see I did not want to leave her side. It's never easy finding out the difficulties animals go through as its bad enough humans have to experience such tragedies, animal kindness veterinary hospital and staff gave me faith, hope, and lots of comfort throughout my most recent dilemmas with our pets and I couldn't be more grateful!! It is very rare that I post a review for anyone or anything but I am going to make an exception because I know the stress one can go through when trying to find a doctor and place where you can place your trust that your fur-babies are in the best hands and receiving the best care your money can buy. The care my sweet babies (2 female chihuahuas) have and continue to receive from Dr. Holt and his wonderful and caring staff is AMAZING! I have used Dr. Holt for over 22 years. Prior to using him I tried several doctors. Dr. Holt is a strait up person who loves what he does and loves his clients. Once you get to know him he becomes family. I now live in boulder city and although the drive is a long one it's well worth it. My Roscoe is 12 yrs old, seizure started. Very concerned, made an appointment with Dr Holt. Roscoe rec'd a blood panel and I was told the Vet would call me the next day with results and a prescription if neccessary. One day went by, then the next, no call. I had to call this Vet and get what Roscoe needed. I will never go back to this Vet again and advise anyone else to stay away. Don't let the name fool you- they're anything but, kind, to animals. This place is run by a husband and wife team, the Holts. Dr. Holt (Mr.) advised my husband that his dog, an older Yorkshire Terrier, could afford to lose three pounds. One month later, for a check-up, Dr. Holt (Mrs.) then told my husband that "it wasn't good for your dog to lose three pounds in a month." She advised my husband to follow through with tests- which showed my husband, that she was clearly motivated  by money. Even after my husband proceeded to explain to her, that her husband advised the weight loss; so his dog got less treats and more walks daily- she still insisted to get all these tests done, which were easily $100 each, three total. And Dr. Holt (Mrs.) always seemed to be in a rush, every time, my husband saw her, almost immediately leaving the examination, rushing into another appointment, in essence, making more money. My husband was always left with an expensive bill, every time. My husband should've seen these as warning flags, but his dog had been going to this hospital since he was a puppy, and knew both vets. This was the back-breaker. After seeing some inflammation in our dog's tooth, my husband saw Dr. Holt (Mrs.), who then rushed in and rushed out- but did not examine the 14 year-old dog's gums; gave him the diagnosis of an "absessed tooth" and recommended a teeth cleaning. So my husband agreed, what did my husband know- he's not a doctor. She prescribed antibiotics to a 14-year-old dog without doing blood work. My husband noticed that his dog lost his appetite, and wouldn't even eat his favorite dog treats. He lost several steps in his stride, and was sleeping alot more than usual. So, back to see the Holts we go. After seeing Dr. Holt (Mr.), we learned that our dog was suffering from renal failure, and needed to get on IV's immediately. My husband's trust in the Holts really diminished, so my husband took our dog to my in-law's vet, The Flamingo Pet Clinic, for a second opinion. After another blood test, it was confirmed that our dog was suffering from complete renal failure. This could happen when you have an older animal, but you do not check their vital signs or do blood work, before prescribing antibiotics. These tests determine whether your dog's organs are strong enough, to handle the antibiotics, which the 14-year-old was clearly not. The Holts neglected to test our dog, just put him on pills, like he was a young spry dog. To make a long, sad story short, our dog went from a happy dog who loved playing with his toys, to being dead, two weeks later. The people at the Flamingo Pet Clinic, did their best, but the antibiotics ruined his insides so much, that he went comatose.This happened several years ago, I am glad that there is forum like Yelp, that we can warn people about these these so-called Vets at this so-called, Animal Kindness.
