We recently had a scare with our miniature dachshund. Took him to our regular vet and he kept getting misdiagnosed. It was at the point we thought we were going to lose him. We rescued 2 Bichon Frise dogs from California and one of them came to us "ill". She was on 5 different medications and the other was a nervous wreck. We took the dogs to Dr. S. and low and behold she took my 3 year old off all the meds, did some chiropractic manipulations  and provided me with holistic drops, a change in diet and a multi-page document related to canine care. The following month we returned and both dogs got a clean bill of health!!! The cost was a bit high, but totally worth every penny. As for the nervous boy - she did some chiropractic manipulations and he became less nervous - who knew? I am not a current customer, but I tried to be! Apparently this place is so successful or thinks it is, that it does whatever it can to discourage new business! I have called several times to try to make an appointment. Tell them i am a 1st time customer and boom, put on hold. Then they pick up only to tell you your going back on hold! And leave you there. If your patient enough eventually they do pick up and tell you any appointments for you are at least a month away! BEST VET IN THE WORLD! Dr. S does what she does purely for the love of animals. We have been taking my dog there since he was just a few months old and she has taken great care of him every visit.The first thing that impressed me on his very first visit was when she asked "What is he eating? What is he drinking?" It caught me off guard at first, but she asks this because so many people just buy dog food at the grocery store for convenience, and she genuinely cares about the health of our pets, which starts with a good diet and good drinking water.My dog is an exceptional case with horrible allergies. He has never responded to traditional treatments, but Dr. S stuck with him and never gave up trying until we finally found something that alleviates him... and it's natural.The proof is in the results. We woke up one morning (August 16, 2016) to find our little guy had been scratching all night and had scratched himself bloody on his chest and neck. This review has nothing to do with the Dr there. I actually haven't even seen a Dr there. I was trying to schedule an appointment for the first time. The receptionist named lissandra. Or leandra. Was so rude. I had to call 3 times because she kept placing me on long holds. One hold was for 10 mins. Then when I was finally able to get through. I asked if I can make an appointment for Saturday, she rudely said we're not open on Saturday! So I said ok I would have to call her back to check my schedule. I called back again after being placed on hold... I asked for Friday. She rudely said I have no openings on Friday!! ( I was thinking, how about you tell me what days you do have an opening). So I finally settled on Thursday. When she asked me if I was a new patient or client. I just said patient. So she asked for my name. She said she couldn't locate me. I said I've never been there before. She then said Your not a new patient your a new client!!! I thought about it and decided to cancel my appointment, because if the receptionist is mean there what would the actual experience be like?? Not impressed. Wait time was short however I felt that vet was not thorough in exam and was condescending. Also did treatment on my dog that I did not consent to. I was not given any prices beforehand either. I have been taking my pets to holistic practitioners for over 30 years. I have never left an office feeling ripped off until now. I wasnt asked what I could afford or given treatent options to allow me to make a decision with the vet on how to proceed. Vet just rushed me through appt, threw out information at me and I was charged $380. My question is this: What if I am on a fixed income and cant afford to have the vet pull on my dogs tail for 30 seconds "spinal adjustment" and be charged $55, without asking me first? I was also told I would get blood results and office never called. Overall experience with this office was disappointing. I wont go back. I now regret not ordering products online. I am so grateful for Dr. S. Our local vets just kept running more and more tests only to say that they needed to run more. Ugggg. Once they told us we had to do a 3500$ liver biopsy we reached out to our friend who spoke so highly of her vet. I flew him out there, and after fully going over all of the labs we had already done, she was confident that it was micro-hepatic shunts. I was told by my previous vet, that if it was shunts he would have to be managed with drugs the rest of his life. Oh ya, and is only 9 months old. She treated him with some gentle release techniques, gave him some natural supplements, homeopathics and advised me on a specific diet. With in three days I could see the lights coming back on in my dog. We just re-ran the labs, one month later and his liver enzymes went from over a 1000 to just over 100. Just today I found a pigeon that had been attacked and had a broken wing. It was 100 degrees outside so I called a couple local vets and all of them said they'd put it down for a fee. My 14 year old Sheltie was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. The Vet gave him Lasix but he still refused to eat. He was too weak to walk out to relieve his bladder. I called a cardio vet and asked if they also offered holistic treatment. The receptionist referred me to Dr. Stefanato. When we arrived, she could barely find a pulse. I was ready to let him go but Dr. Stefanto told us she felt she could help him. That was October 2015. My boy is like a puppy again! He has to take medication but who doesn't eventually.... This woman is magical and very knowledgable. I've never had a vet pay as close attention. And I've never had a vet ask for an entire history of my pets life before an examination. Besides administering vaccinations that don't have harmful and unnecessary chemicals in them, she also reads your animals energy and suggests a color the animal should be wearing (al colors radiate certain and specific vibrations-some colors are for healing, some are for protection...). She gives you very helpful packets to take home containing information on what to feed your animals, the dangers of preservatives and eating grass, the importance of them drinking distilled an alkalinize water etc etc.. Too often humans neglect to feed themselves proper nutrition. Sadder still, individuals that do eat right forget that their beloved animals also need to be eating the right foods. We recently moved to Las Vegas with our four dogs.  We tried a Vet that was okay but 2 months ago my oldest boy was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure.  He wouldn't eat and I had to carry him out to potty.  I called a cardiac specialist and asked if they did any alternative therapy. they sais no but gave me the number to Dr. Stefanato.  When we took the boy to DR. S, she could barely find a pulse.  6 weeks later our boy is like a puppy again!I like that Dr. Stefanato does what is best for my dog regardless if its conventional or alternative medication. Surgery is not always the only way to go. Alternative and holistic therapists can be more helpful a lot of times. And thus is what make Animal Kingdom different from others. My 8 years old beagle had a torn acl three years ago. At that time all vets we went to told us surgery is the only way. But we didn't want him to undergo surgery and suffer from other health issues from the surgery later. We found Dr. Stephanoto and with 30% remaining ligament, she helped us cure the dog's acl. About two months ago one of our dog Gypsy had two strokes in a few days and after a week she lost 100% of mobility. We had made an appt to put her down on a Wednesday but I wasn't comfortable with letting her go just yet. I made some calls and research I called Animal Kingdom the Monday before we were to have her euthanized. At first they didn't have an appt for over 2 weeks and I had lost hope, but they called me back on Tuesday and gave us an appt for that Friday am. Again, Gypsy was 100% immobile and I even had to give her water by hand. We did 3 treatments with Animal Kingdom and now at week 8 she's walking, eating and going outside on her own. It was a very slow process but very rewarding. The first time she lifted her head and upper body, I cried. About 5 years ago, several doctors including specialists told me that there was nothing they could do with my pomeranian and that his health was going to go down hill from there. Stay away from this vet! First the receptionist is the rudiest meanest person in Las Vegas.! How this lady is in a medical field where one should have compassion is beyond me! I took my cat there on an emergency basis. I liked that dr s is holistic and I have had good experiences w her on wellness visits. However on an emergency basis- IT WAS THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER! I won't get into details too much but basically she told me my cat had an infection because he had dirty teeth.. I only got this response after dr would not return my call for TWO DAYS! And this was an emergency to them.?Anyway during the TWO DAYS it took to get that gem of a diagnosis from her, cat's health was still declining.  So took him to another vet who found he has a mass in his gi Tract (which maybe cancer- we are investigating as i write) causing bloody stool. He spent night in hospital w iv fluids and antibiotics.  How could this person missed this?  I am hurt and speechless.  Oh did i mention the secretary refused to send my cat's medical records to the emergency vet?!  oh yea- super ethical as well as mean.Her dirty practice and rude staff needs retire. I have been going to Dr. Stefanatos for over 30 years. She is one of the finest human beings I have ever known. She has a gift for healing animals. I used to live in Nevada, but I have now lived in Ca for 24 years. She has always been my vet.  My 19 year old cat and I continue to make 2 to 3 trips a year for regular check ups.
