Craig Road Animal Hospital

Las Vegas, Nevada
General Info
Veterinary appointments at Craig Road Animal Hospital in Las Vegas unfold through co-regulation—synchronized pauses slowed movement and shared breathing that support families across Nevada. The room layout creates an unnatural stillness. The arrangement of chairs follows a pattern designed to minimize stress. Exam tables adjust for access and visibility. Staff members assess caregiver breathing patterns vocal tones and eye movements before interacting with pets because animals frequently observe their humans for signals. The deliberate application of silence occurs. Some situations demand initial care through patient waiting to let pets adopt slower rhythms before starting treatment. The Craig Road Animal Hospital delivers integrative healthcare which encompasses organ diagnostics alongside pain threshold analysis and allergy identification while also performing hydration status exams and energy-based wellness assessments when deemed appropriate. The strategic scheduling of visits forms an essential component of the plan since morning pets handle more stimuli while late-day animals require initial quiet observation. The essential role of tone variation emerges as interactions through lower-pitched voices enhance anxious dog responses while restricted frequency bands diminish feline startling effects. Following their visits owners obtain care instructions which include tonal and rhythmic guidance for gentle speech moments when to step away and when to position the pet near sunlight or allow it to rest in darkness. These patterns support physical and emotional return to baseline. Craig Road Animal Hospital connects pet and owner nervous systems for Las Vegas and Nevada families to deliver care that achieves both clinical excellence and emotional resonance.

We've been taking our pets here for years and will continue to do so. Our pitbull Jack had a tendon in his knee snap and the staff did an awesome job going over our options. At just a few months old, he had to go through surgery but now he is older and is doing great. Most recently Jack had an issue with dermatitis and we were seen almost immediately. He's taking medication and seems to be better. The staff here is caring and the boarding facility is great. Read Less

my 13 years old dog went numb on me and I had to rush her to the hospital, unfortunately it was around 8pm and they were the only near by hospital that was open. We waited for 25 min until we approached the receptionist to tell her it’s an emergency and she responded that for $40 that vet will see me immediately, I paid of course. We were questioned by the “nurse” for 15 minutes while my dog is dying on me just to find out that the vet got nothing from what I told her assistant. The genius vet said it’s not a brain damage and my dog probably has a spine disease. After trying to convince both me and my wife that laser treatment is the best way to go I felt that something is just not right, I know my dog and I knew for sure it’s a brain damage. They send us home with 5 different types of medications for spinal disease... my dog died two days later due to a brain tumor which I find out through a real vet at the gentle dr. Animal hospital. Nothing would’ve saved my dog, she was old and lived a great life but she didn’t need to suffer as much as she did. I blame myself for listening and trusting people I’ve never trusted before but I guess when you’re desperate you will take any shred of hope possible and THEY will take any advantage possible. I would wish for the people “treating” my dog to go through the same unbearable pain of losing the creature you loved the most in the world but I honestly think that these people has no heart and are emotionless! This place made me reevaluate my whole outlook after my last experience with them. My Dog went in for random flu symptoms, they did one x-ray and sent her home to later call me and Inform me that she had Pyometra and to bring her back in. Upon returning they informed me she needed an emergency spaying and it would be anywhere from 1500-2000. When I expressed I could not afford that they informed me it was only 95$ to euthanize my pet. I had to refuse service take medications home and sign a waiver stating I was going against medical advice. I went home and did some looking around and found a place to get her in and THEY ONLY CHARGED $509. Shes happy and healthy now and will not ever be returning. The doctor was cold and rude, her assistant was great. if I could give them no stars I would. Take your fur babies to the spay and neuter clinic. Read Less

We love Craig Rd Animal Hospital. We love Dr. Daniels. We love the boarding staff. We love all of the vet techs. Everyone is awesome. We have been through a lot with them including cancer, seizures, an unfortunate dog fight resulting in stitches and drains and more... they also are the only grown adults to see me shed any tears, as we've had to say goodbye to 2 best friends (RIP Coach and Pyro). We now have a 2nd generation in their hands, and I wouldn't trust anyone else. In fact, our new rescue does not play nice with others, including people (he's learning). Every time we have boarded our Leo, the boarding staff raves about how awesome he is upon pick up (they must have the magic touch). They know what they are doing, and we are ever so grateful for these doctors, nurses, and staff members. Everyone giving one star based off of money either has no clue about how a market economy works, or has never had to go to a people doctor who do a far worse job for a lot more money. They have always given us a quote, with options, and it has always been our decision on which course of action to take with our pups. Be aware of the one star reviews who decided to let their animal suffer because they were too cheap to pay a 45 dollar exam fee. My insurance co-pay is more than that for me to use the app on my phone- without even seeing an actual doctor. Keep up the good work Craig Rd! Read Less

This place is a terrible place to take your pets. I will NEVER go there again. They botched my dogs plate that I had them put in his leg for 3000.00 now he walks on three legs. Their new Vet, at least the Asian one that came in the room to give my dogs shots, seemed to have never owned a pet in her life. My dog barked at one or two people even though there were about 10 people working there. My dog can sense something, she was fine with the two other girls but this so called Vet was still afraid even though she had a mussel on, she wanted to sedate my dog to give her vaccines. She wasn't even showing any signs of being mean to her.I asked myself why, why would a person that is afraid of dogs ever be a Vet??? I told her no that I did not want my dog sedated. I asked for another Vet. I had my Pomeranian with me and my cat in a carrier all do for their shots. Instead she got the Wimpy Director to come in, as soon as I saw him again I told him I didn't like him and I was gone. The director is a weird and an unprofessional . If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I hope this place gets shutdown somehow because all they do is scam you for money and put your animal through more pain for it. Makes me sick. My kitty was seen first for a fracture in his foot supposedly. Then overtime developed a infection in his foot from trauma (Blisters) from his cast being on too tight said another vet I saw at entirely different place. Was told my kitty needed to be kept an eye on for a week at the hospital to have him watched and cared for. I came by 2 days later to visit him and noticed a additional injury on his back leg. I tried to get somebody to talk to about this but no one was helping me. So at this point i'm frustrated and heartbroken to see my kitty in more pain so I demanded to see a vet now and to get his carrier so we could leave. A vet Finally comes to see and only offers to clean up the wound. I refused to let them proceed with touching or caring for my animal anymore. I brought my kitty home with antibiotics and pain meds for his foot. The next day went to a different Vet Place and was told the news about his foot and how it seemed to be neglected by the previous vets due to so much trauma on his foot. But other wise was in good health. A week and half goes by and hes finally off his meds and feeling better in his foot but still was getting daily soaks and wearing a cone. Then 5 days later all of a sudden he was acting very strange and sluggish and would not move or eat hardly. I thought It was constipation him not using the litter box for a couple of days. So laxatives was given to him to see if that was the case. on the 3rd day he became very weak and could not stand developed a wheezing sound. I rushed him to my new vet and was told something in his body was failing and he was too gone to get help so he was put down out of his misery. The Vet had no idea what could of caused this and was in shock as well.So I'm thinking it had to do with the infection that he had in the foot due to Craig Road hospital that could of spread somewhere to a major organ in his body and it was causing it to shut down. Still not for sure to this day but I do know that Craig Road Animal hospital had something to do with this and wanted everyone to be aware of these horrible people there. They are out to scam you for your money and could careless of your animal needs. Keep in mind this kitty was indoors and well observed by me and was taken excellent care under my supervision. I spent over a 1,000 on him to get him well and it got me nowhere but him getting put down. It truly breaks my heart to have vets like them in the world treating our furry friends. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS AWFUL PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND SEEING FROM OTHER REVIEWS I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO EXPERIENCED SUCH TRAGEDY !!!!! Read Less

I took my baby boy Jack to Craig Road Animal Hospital yesterday, to update his vaccines, and a couple of other maintenance things.I chose this vet initially because I THOUGHT they were super close to me.  In truth, my sense of direction and distance is not to be trusted...they're about 7 minutes farther away than I had thought they were. Distance aside, I'm glad I brought Jack here, and even though he absolutely HATES going for rides in the car, I will most definitely bring him, and his sister Phedra, back. I messaged them here on Yelp first, and they replied pretty quickly with answers to my questions.  I was able to set up the appointment for my boy online, within about 5 minutes.  The location is actually pretty large.  Much bigger than I thought it was going to be.  Its clean.  It doesn't smell like animals or animal waste...and we all know that dogs like to pee on everything, so I was pretty happy that it smelled clean.  We checked in, and I filled out paperwork.  All of the girls at the front were nice.  Apparently they offer tours of the facility...I opted to not take one this time, as Jack is a little anxious.  Next time, I will definitely take advantage. Once we were in a room, a vet tech, Chelsea? I think (I'm so bad with names), came in and asked a couple of questions and said hello to my boy, and then took him in the back for his check up, anal gland expression (gross), nail trim, and vaccines. Dr. Silver came in while they were still working with my poor boy's butt.  She was very kind, even when kind of scolding me for letting the anal glands go so long without being expressed.  Believe me, I already felt like a bad mom, but she wasn't rude or condescending at all:  simply stated that she recommends bringing him in more frequently, which we definitely will be doing now that we're settled.  She answered all of my questions, and gave me some great information about looking into Jack's anxiety behaviors and issues.  They had a tech come into the room to check me out and take payment, which was super convenient.  All in all, this was a great visit.  Thank you, Craig Rd, for treating my boy so well.  We'll see you soon for our other dog's vaccines! Very horrible experience. I took my doberman female here because she got hit by a car in front of my house. The loud boom was her running on the side and her paw evidently getting hit from the car. She ran down the block and we combed thru the hood to find her. When we did. We made calls to take her in. I took a prior dog here and got taken for 800 for a upset stomach virus that freaked me out. And I said then I wouldn't go back but I have because they are right up the street. Well we bandaged her paw and took her in to this place. We were planning to get x rays and get her bones set with a splinter and her on the road to recovery. But when we came here we got nothing close. We were told her fracture looked worst and she will most like need to have her arm cut off. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN>. I would much rather leave the arm to heal anyway shape or form before I would allow them to cut off her arm! That pissed me off royal right there. Then she comes back in to say we don't know unless we do the X-rays if this is the case. Then don't tell someone that. And then she goes on to say that she wants to send me and my dog to a specialist. For one I thought they did everything like surgery at this location. Now I hear them telling me that the bills is 200 and they wish to cut off her arm.! Then be told we don't handle this but pay us 200 and hit the road. For one I bandaged my dogs arm and made a semi splinter. Then they wrap my dog's arm and use the same splinter I used with was emery board un used of course for sanitation. But if they are charging me for them to bandage my dog. Wouldn't you think they would have their own supplies and not use that same emery board I used?. But they are charging me full price. Why did I even come to this place to hear excuses how they can't fix a damn thing yet want to charge me for top dollar and then send me to a specialist? I did get more service from the girls at the front desk for asking for bowl of water for my dog. ok. I complained about the bill and the doctor. She seemed and looked like a meth user and found out she only worked there for two years but I got the impression they could care less for my dog. Just wanted my money. Said I could pay 4-5 grand if I want to splint her arm. I am no stupid push over and I don't allow people to rip me off. I paid with a credit card and some man named Mike came in the room like whats the problem. I told him your charging for a bandage and won't splint the arm for me which is the reason I came in tonight. Nothing got done. I just ended up with a hefty bill and some antibiotics and pain killers. Two hundred out the window. And a big O in my wallet. This was just horrible service and if you are being charged for a stupid bandage only and getting a bill for a whopping two to just go down the yellow brick road to the next rip off they send you to. I would by pass this place. So unprofessional to tell someone to just chop off thier pets arm without doing a x ray to see what the hell they are talking about first. And then hit you will the devastation news such as that if they don't even know. Then send this fat troll to the room to tell you hey pay up sucker. We don't care if you got a point. Regardless the next thing I am signing is that the doctor is saying I am not following her advice and she is releasing liability on my dog. VERY WELL and seems the only right thing that happened. When tomorrow comes. I will dispute my credit card for some of this frivilous balance. Such as full price for them using my material to bandage my dog's arm and also for misleading me to believe they could handle x rays and doing a splint on my dog. Worthless for the wait and time involved and definitely not satisfied with the price. The worst part was being mislead and told tjhey do everything here and finding out that was not the case and waisting our time. And feeling like we were just another pay check. Very uncaring attitude. And like take this or leave it attitude. Read Less

Everyone was really nice. I thought the prices were really reasonable, they gave me an estimate and it ended up being cheaper than expected. I was planning on the higher side, since they told me there might be a higher "in heat" charge for my cat but luckily it wasn't needed. When I picked her up, they went over everything in detail on what they did, how to care for her and the follow up instructions. I was really satisfied with how everything went. Read Less

Well we adopted our dog from the animal foundation about 2 years ago, and recently got another one from them on Dec 27th 2016. The newer dog was spade by the animal foundation but a few days ago we noticed these 2 wierd looking bumps on the incision. Our old vet moved without telling us so Dr. Finder was recomended to us by some close friends. I called up on Tuesday and had an apt schedueled for Wednesday at 330pm. They told me they do free exams for dogs that were from the shelter, GREAT! I told them id be bringing both dogs in, one for the spaded area and the other just for a first time checkup. I arrived around 310 figuring there would be paperwork which there was, and when they asked me what the other dog was there for they told me that they only do free exams within 1 week of adoption. Disappointed, but knowing our first dog is a healthy dog I still wanted them to check out these wierd bumps on our new dog. So at 430pm I get up and ask if this is normal to be waiting this long ive been here an hour past my appointment time and havent even been acknowledged! They apoligized and said it wouldnt be much longer. 45 minutes later after watching 4 more people that came in after me go in the back I finally went up to the desk again and said ok what the heck, ive been here more than 2 hours now. They apoligized and said 2 emergencies came in and Dr Finder took them both. I told the lady fine, get me in with the next available because this is just ridiculous. She said ok we will do that... minutes later they finally call my name and said Dr Finder is available, at this point I didnt give a rats ass who it was. Dr Finder and her Nurse were great with my animals, but to wait 2 and a half hours after my appointed time and not have 1 person come tell me what was happening is a pile of dog crap! I dont know if the service was worth the wait, or being mislead over the phone that both dogs would have a free exam. There are too many vets in the area to have to put up with this nonsense.Read Less

I had a very good experience, during a tough time. I took my shitzu in for what I thought was an eye infection. After finding out she had root abscess, I was given an estimate. They gave me time to process everything and figure out what I was going to do. I was taking up a room that I know could've been used to see another patient. They were patient with me and didn't rush me to make a decision. When I picked up Miss Zoey, she had obviously had been given good care. The Bill Was LESS than the estimate!! The staff was wonderful. They called me with updates after her surgery. This was my first visit to this clinic, my normal vet is in Henderson, or was. I will be coming here for all my pets' needs. I'm truly grateful for the compassion both Zoey and I felt from the staff! Thank You!!Read Less

Took our Australian Shepherd, Skunk, on an emergency visit, he hurt his arm (front leg) and they got us right in. Staff was great, vet was great, prices were reasonable, office is extremely clean and modern. The only thing holding me back from giving it 5 stars is they wouldn't accept payments, so my dog couldn't get an X-ray that he needed. Total bill with X-ray was around $300. I paid a little less than half in cash, and they would not do the X-ray and let us return in a few days after I got paid. On top of that, if I brought him back for X-rays, even if it was the next day, they charge half an office visit fee, after I just paid a $46 office fee. I felt like that was a money grab - like "sorry your dog might die, come back when you have $$$ and then we'll help you. Oh, and there will be an extra fee." Luckily my dog wasn't severely injured, but I know not to take him there in another emergency if I don't have enough cash to pay for everything upfront. Of course they will offer you a care/charge account, but if you have bad credit or no credit good luck with that!Read Less

I was so upset it was the worst visit I've had there and I've been many times with both of my dogs.... use to love it now....very disappointed I went back home to assess my dog further to notice what the problem was myself and went back to show them an hour after I had already left... then I was told by the vet that she accidentally told the wrong family that their dog had the problem my dog had... I don't even think she told the wrong family I think they just Plane ole missed it and I get it we're not perfect but just an apology would've done it don't make up a story.... I'm a nurse don't blow smoke to me.... shame on me for not noticing the abscess prior to going only reason I found it was by time we got home I had to wipe her because I think doing the rectal temperature irritated her anal area and that's when I felt it....The tech even admitted it to me that she did not notice it when she took her temperature... I said how the hell not... then different story from Vet... whatever....By time we left my dog had to have an incision and drainage done... then was placed on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory. Initially when we went they just told me about her hip dysplasia and I already knew about but we needed an x-ray of course to confirm it smh.... furthermore as I sat in the room waiting on my dog to return from the procedure they almost gave me the wrong dog came in there with somebody's pitbull with a cone on head saying oh shes done and I said that's not my dog.... they immediately apologized but really!!! so disappointed best hours on my side of town and use to be nice but I don't think I'll be returning there now I have a back up place just sad because I really liked that place before had been going there for 13 years....Read Less

This place is open when I need them to be open. Yesterday was Sunday, New Year's Day, and I had a dog that needed medical (non-emergency) attention and given my work schedule, it was going to be Sunday or wait 3-4 days while an infection got worse and keep my dog in pain. Called to confirm they were open ("only" until 7 PM because of the holiday) and went over, got the issue taken care of, and didn't waste all day or spend a huge amount on emergency vet care. Not a person in there complaining about working a holiday, or looking beat up the day after New Year's Eve, just the same friendly staff providing the care my dog needs. Very dishonest Vet!!!! ALLLL about the $$$$$...they performed surgery on our dog stating he had an infected testicle that did not drop. The blood work showed prior to surgery that he had lymphoma (cancer) but they did not tell us till after they did the surgery. They had the report and knew. After the surgery and $3,000 later they told us he had about a month to live. He did not need the surgery after all. Had we known he had Cancer we would not of had the surgery. We had to put out precious boy to sleep 3 weeks after surgery due to his rapid decline and tumors w over taking his body. This Vet was about the money, and not about the honesty our family deserved. They put him through a senseless costly surgery that accelerated the disease, and took our money. Our recommendation and lessened learned is to ask to see all the blood work and test results before you make a decision for your fur babies. Read Less

They treated her for UTI, we requested blood work and it came back positive for diabeties, so we had her hospitalized for 3 1/2 day's to get her blood sugar under control then we requested they do x-rays so we cover all basis. We brought her home and did her insulin for a day and half and she started to decline again so we went to another Vet to get her sugar level checked and they ran some test's and she has Pancreatitis along w/ diabeties, they reccomened Specialist's at VE+CC which quickly diagnosed her and she will be there 4 day's to treat her. Craig Rd did not even mention Pancretitis after 5 days.I will not go back in future, they tried to drain our Bank account but enough was enough when they could not properly diagnose her!Read Less

We had been customers of Craig Road Hospital for several years. We had moved and the drive was a bit farther away so we thought about switching to a vet closer to us. Then one of our dogs (Scooby) became ill. The kindness and empathy that was expressed by the entire staff was amazing. We were going through a very rough time and they were very patient and understanding. Sadly, we had to put Scooby to sleep and Dr. Robertson helped us to understand why it was the right choice. He was so helpful and understand, as were the staff when we brought 7 people in with us to say good bye. Dr. Whitcraft was his doctor but she was off that day, so when we got the sympathy card with a personal message from her it concreted our resolve to NEVER switch vets. This is a very sad time for us and the entire staff has gone above and beyond to see to our comfort. Scooby is with his girlfriend, Bella, now who passed 2 years ago. This is the first time I have ever done this, but when I read the only other review, I just had to respond. When we originally moved here, we went to another vet's office, when he closed his doors, we went to Crg. Rd Animal Hospital, I did not know any of the doctors there, so I opted for anyone who was available to take care of our greyhound. We were so fortunate to have Dr. ""R"" (they won't let use his last name in my rating), come through that door. Our pet was about 11 years old then, I have never met a person so dedicated to making sure your pet is getting the best care - over the years when our dog started having arthritis, and heart problems, Dr. ""R"" took or returned every call I made, no matter what time I called. He would see us in the waiting room and instead of making him stand there & wait, he would personally come and take our buddy to the back and take care of him. When we needed to see a specialist regarding his heart, Dr. ""R"" actually took the time to go & meet with this doctor himself to go over his chart, to be sure that he gave the best care he could, (I am not talking about just down the street - he drove about 40 min's away to meet with this doctor). The final day of our best friends life, Dr. ""R"" actually came to our house because I couldn't pick him up and put him in the car alone. He and one the many wonderful tech's that work there got him in my car. When the time came to say good-bye Dr. ""R"" was there by our side. I swear that our dog had an angel watching over him for those years. Watching Dr. ""R"" with my pets (yes he takes care of our cat also), the care and concern and passion he has for animals is incredible. He will go out of his way, to find the right treatment that is nec. to help heal your pet. Anyone who has contact with him in regards to the care of your pet is truley blessed. Thank you Dr. ""R"" for the person you are - I wish there were more doctors like you caring for the animals in this world. Read Less

We took our cat in as an emergency (he had thrown up a lot that day after eating a plant and was lethargic). the doctor (and I use the term lightly)took him in the back to examine him. When he came back he didn't have our cat but said he was dehyrdrated and showed us a long list of expensive tests he wanted to perform to see what was wrong with him - to the tune of $500. When we asked him if that included any treatments, he said no and that they may run an additional $300 to $3000 depending on what they found. We love our cat but just can't afford a bill like that, explained that to the doctor and asked him to hydrate him and we would take him home. The doctor became very discusted with us and said, ""we might as well get used to the idea that we would have to have him put down because he was suffering a lot."" He had one of the techs hydrate our cat, bring him out to us and we took him home. Within an hour our cat was almost back to 100%. We feel Dr. Roach's threat of ""having to put him down"" was one to make us feel guilty about our decision and get us to spend the money on the tests. Read Less

Craig Road Animal Hospital connects pet and owner nervous systems for Las Vegas and Nevada families to deliver care that achieves both clinical excellence and emotional resonance.

my 13 years old dog went numb on me and I had to rush her to the hospital, unfortunately it was around 8pm and they were the only near by hospital that was open.

Wow I am shocked at how people would just take there pet elsewhere due to one bad experience. Medicine is expensive whether it be for our pets or humans. They charge for a service. I don't think anyone should judge or give them a bad reputation on one visit. They don't just jump in and run up a bill. They do what is needed and best for our pets. I feel safe with them and we used them about 7 yrs now. Medical care is not always cheap, but they do what is needed. I would give 10 stars if they had that many. Read Less

Read Less

As a pet lover I realy care about my pets in this case two mini-schnauzers. Craig Road Animal Hospital is quite fay from my home but worth the ride to get there. The doctors are great, the prices are fair and the hospital is always clean. Customer service is great also. I been using Craig Animal Hospital now for about four years and even though there are about four other animal hospitals closer to my home I find its worth the extra ride to go here. Five-stars all the way. Read Less

I brought my dog in yesterday for a badly broken toenail, not quite to the quick, but damaged more than I felt like taking care of myself. The vet and tech were ok, was told I would be getting an estimate before they did anything. That never happened. My bill was over $140.00 which I think is quite ridiculous. Pain meds and antibiotics ok sure, but $33.00 for a freeking bandage. I could have done it 20 times myself for a $2.00 roll of vetwrap. I work in a large animal hospital and it costs less to wrap half a leg on a horse! Next time I will just take her to work and do it myself. Won't be coming back Read Less

One of the best places to take your pets in Las Vegas. Caring staff and extended business hours make for a far less stressful vet visit.

I've been going to Craig road animal hospital for over 6 years now. Dr. Whiter Whitcraft is amazing with all animals but I refuse to have my kitties seen by any other vet. My orange tabby was stung by bees when he was less than a year old and she took such great care of him. She even called me personally to give me updates. The entire staff is great but she is definitely my favorite. My orange kitty Oliver loves her and he gets lots of kisses from her. I highly recommend Craig road animal hospital. Read Less

Very friendly staff, we took our 5 year old Yorkie in after having a few issue's at home foul odor of urine, not eating, drinking ton's of water.

She was taken care of at Craig Road as well. I wish I could give them 10/10 stars. Thank you all again. The Vervilles Read Less

We have been going here for years. Dr. Mychajlonka has been our vet for three dogs and they all love(d) him. When my dog went into an epileptic fit and wouldn’t come out of it Dr. Mych got out of bed at two in the morning and met us at the hospital. He has always showed compassion for our pets and us through difficult times. The staff is very profession and well trained -- the few times we saw a different vet they were just as compassionate.

Read Less
