First time I walked in I walked out. No one greets clients. Other people who are late will get moved ahead of you as soon as they walk in. That would have been acceptable but then the unfriendly staff will loudly talk in back about how far behind they are and come tell you a lie right to your face. currently I live in LA but I used to live in Vegas, I can tell this is the best place I have ever been. compare to other Animal Hospitals this place is HEAVEN for your pet and your pocket. If I could give them no stars I would. I check my cats there a couple of time the last time I took my cat he was very sick he vomited all over his crate and he's a big 20 pound cat. He was all over the place in his cat crate and I had to take him out but there are dogs around so I asked if they could put me in a room and the front desk girl told me no not yet. So I took him out and I said I needed something to clean up the vomit with can someone help me and the front desk girl said there's paper towels in the bathroom. Mind you I have a 20 lb cat is terrified of dogs I have a cat crate that's full of vomit and he's freaking out. So I knock on the Vets door because I see her in there with a patient ask her to put me in a room and she looked at me like I was crazy but eventually she got me in there quickly cuz I was not happy. After that incident I stopped going there because that was ridiculous. Yesterday I found a pigeon and distress it had been poisoned and other animal hospitals that I have brought Birds to that have been in distress have all taking them and either taking care of them or would have put them down if needed at no cost. I go in there with this pigeon yesterday she's clearly going to die and I asked him if they could help and the front desk girl said oh really don't see birds but let me go ask... Comes back and says yeah I guess we could put her down but you're going to have to pay for it if you want us to do that. I just about fell over because the lack of compassion that this place has towards animals is saddening to me. I couldn't believe that three veterinarians in a room came to that conclusion. None of them had any compassion to take this poor bird in and put it out of its misery. I should have went where I was going to go in the first place which was All About Cats even though if they don't deal with birds at all first because that's where I take my cats now. So I took the pigeon there and they gladly took in the bird they saw that she was poisoned and they put her out of her misery without charging me. Bravo All About Cats that clearly shows that there are people in this world that care more about animals than they do money. I am absolutely disgusted by the way Durango Animal Hospital treated my cat, treated this pigeon, and treated me. You guys make me sick. And I have told everyone about this.... They have been my go to vet for my little girl since she was born! They always take such great care of us when we go in. They are reasonably priced, and perform quality work. They clearly take great care of their “patients” because my pup is never afraid at all when we walk through their office doors. That’s an amazing sign! Their location is also perfect. I went for a walk-in and the staff there was really nice. I didn't have to wait more than an hour which was also great. Although the prices are ridiculous for a college student, Dr Reynolds was able to give me wallet friendly options. He was able to suggest a few options because he obviously knew I wasn't going to afford a $900 test. I love my pet and I will spend the money if need be but ... I hope everything they gave me helps. We took our little guy, Rebel, to this hospital after being quoted an absurd amount for a teeth cleaning.  When we first heard the quoted price for this location over the phone, we were worried that they were cutting corners in order to provide a lower price.  This couldn't be further from the case.  The staff was EXTREMELY friendly, and made our dog feel as comfortable as he could be.  We opted for the standard teeth cleaning (which we were surprised included a lot) and we went for an additional blood test panel.  One thing we liked is that the blood tests were performed onsite as opposed to being outsourced.  It has now been a full day since his procedure and he recovered perfectly. When you make an appt time and the doctor doesn't take you it's aggravating, that's for sure... like why make an appt if we don't want to follow the schedule? BUT when I make an appt for my dog to get her shots and she's terrified of the vet and now shedding her body weight in hair over my rental car, I've had enough. No animal should have to wait when they can't understand why I'm putting them through this torture.What upsets me is my dog has been here for years, and when we are being help we get the best attention and care, I just wish it didn't take so long to make that happen. Our dog needed surgery and Durango Animal Hospital was wonderful. They got the price down to under $300. Plus they did a wash and teeth cleaning. We just moved to Vegas, my senior chihuahua mix was very sick. We went to Durango as a new patient AND a walkin, the staff was very pleasant and helpful and we met with Dr. Ellis who was thorough and have us a few treatment options and let us decide what we wanted to do. They've always treated my animals with compassion and offer alternative options, comprehensive explanations and answer any/all questions I have. We absolutely love the vet's office. Dr. Pryer is so amazing. When we lost our dog everyone in the office was so kind and caring. I absolutely felt that they were doing everything they could for our dog. We have boarded our dog & between the cute emails with pictures being kind & loving, we were so happy to have them take care of our pets. We have a new dog & they are so great. I love this place 3 dogs and a cat and not a single issue to date. I have yet to wait for a response, meds refilled easily, diet program and monthly assessment, and dental treatment. Kind, courteous, clean environment, nice facility. My dog associates the building with shots and surgery so it's a contest of wills once she realizes we are in the parking lot. My dog went from liking the place to having to be muzzled when I'd go in to get his nails trimmed. He'd slipped his collar, poop in the lobby, express his glands on the techs. The muzzle was the last straw. He's still nervous around groomers but no muzzle needed. Now we just go to the vet for shots. He still does all those things but once a year. Don't get me wrong...I love this vets office but over the years I have seen the level of service go downhill and quickly. Today I brought my dog in for an emergency visit and had to wait over 45 minutes to be seen. I understand you have appointments but no one ever bothered to look and see if my dogs condition was life threatening or not. Used to be you could walk in and they would at least look at your pet before making you wait forever to be seen to ensure your dog did not need to be seen asap. Really thinking about finding another vet just on the service level alone. After over 10 years being a patient it's hard to make that decision but the more I get treated the way we do the easier the decision to move on becomes. Read Less

I needed a walk in emergency apt., My Pit bull had an allergic reaction and was covered in hives, we didn't wait long, and they were willing to take her immediately if her breathing altered while we waited. Ross was knowledgeable and caring while being fast and efficient. He gave us great options, prices for everything and care instructions. I couldn't be more pleased. Five hours ago I was a frantic dog mom, now I can sleep knowing my fur baby is going to be okay bc she got the treatment needed on time. Dr. Preyer is by far the best veterinarian that I have ever taken my animal to. My dog Buddy it's like one of my children and he was fixed yesterday and I was a worried mother. He took such excellent care of him. His bedside manner is absolutely excellent. If you have any concerns he does not mind taking the time to sit down and address all your questions. He by far as a person who truly cares about his job and about the animals that come in there. I would not trust my dog with anybody else but him. They don't make people like him anymore and I'm so thankful that we found somebody as caring as him for our dog. Taking her to Durango Animal Hospital is a walk in the park, never have any problem from making reservation ( sometime cancellation too, ehem! ), to getting an advise on what best for her, Dr. McDermott and other Doctors and Staff are very accommodating and listening well too. Baby Maddie knows these place Well since she is an 8 weeks old puppy :) Place always kept clean, with exception when other pet owners let their pet did their doos without giving consideration to pick up after their pet on the outside lawn, it is NOT the job of the Staffs to pick up your pet dirty laundry folk! I'm a recent transplant to Las Vegas, and with 3 dogs and a cat finding a good vet clinic is very high on my priority list. I had an urgent situation with my oldest dog on a Saturday and several clinics I called either couldn't take walk-ins or had a very long wait. Durango is AAHA-certified and has many good reviews so I gave it a shot. They got me in after a very short wait and the staff was professional and helpful. The clinic is clean and seemed well-staffed. Dr Lavengco looked at my dog, was reassuring and discussed the best course of treatment with me instead of talking at me. They took care of the bill in the waiting room so all the other clients couldn't overhear, which in my experience is very rare but highly appreciated. I was on my way with my dog and peace of mind in 45 minutes. I would definitely bring my other companion animals to this clinic. Read Less

He remembered my dog from the other hospital, In the last year I lost my other 2 dogs and he and his staff peacefully let them go and let me stay and cry as long as I wanted. I have been using Durango Animal Hospital for over 4 years now and I am very pleased with the service, staff and Doctors. I have had wonderful treatment for my pets. I foster animals for some shelters, and people who bring strays into the hospital. The staff of doctors are always available to do a physical before I take them home. I can tell you from personal experience the staff and Doctors are very competent and at the same time very caring.
