The only vet in town that actually has your dog’s best interest at heart. Not in it for the money, no BS, and an incredible sense of empathy for your pet. We rescue dogs and she believes in what we do. I just can’t say enough nice things about her. My dream is to move back east so I could be closer to my family (Vegas just isn’t for me. I need the beach in my life). However the only thing holding me in Vegas is Dr Julie. It’s no secret. I just can’t imagine finding a veterinarian like her back home. I am so thankful I found this amazing place. My 5 month old siberian husky had a large piece of furniture fall on her and she was limping. Every vet office I called was quoting me $200+ JUST for x-rays (not including check up fee or treatment). I found this vet and they were able to set me an appointment that day. The nurse was extremely informative and friendly. My dog is skittish around other people but he was patient. I explained my financial situation and he was super cool with me. My dog had a broken toe and a couple of cracked ones, so they got her in a splint and cast. It was extremely affordable. The vet took extra care with her and explained everything perfectly. Worst place in the freaking world my little Chihuahua got ran over by a car I took him in today and while my dogs having a seizure in my arm convulsing and I'm crying my eyes out they tell me that I need to leave or schedule an appointment they do not accept emergencies are you kidding me how are you going to call yourself an animal hospital and not even be able to handle a emergency wow! We brought in our 60lb pitbull due to him suffering from skin allergies. The vet came in and got on her knees to greet our big baby and took the time to thoroughly explain everything that needed to be done and why. I really liked how she didnt leave it all to an assistant to just come in and drop a paper with prices on it. The prices were the cheapest weve seen so far compared to Desert Inn Animal Hospital and other local vets we've attempted. They treated our pup and even called to check how he was doing the day after. We really felt for the first time that they cared about our dog. Sure this place is not the newest building and its not located in the nicest part of town but its exactly what we needed and they got the job done. If you are looking for a fancy new vet with ridiculous prices I dont recommend you come here, but if you (like us) are struggling with your pets health, are short on money and need a cheap solution by someone who genuinely wants to help I 100% recomend this place. Highly, highly recommend! Dr Julie and her staff are always so compassionate with all our pets. I have a lab who was abused and very skiddish, she always takes extra time literally sitting on the floor for him to come over to her. Prices are always fair and reasonable. Took my cat Meeko here for a wound on his leg. They were so nice and treated him kindly. All at such a low cost which was my fear in trying to take him to other places. I took my baby to a Vet by my home for a abcess tooth and they quoted me $1000 and I was so upset and someone referred me here and she took care of my baby for around $280 and he spent the night, came home and is now all better! Julie is an amazing Veterinarian. We have been having issues with our dog for two months and have been taking her to different facilities in Las Vegas. We've spent thousands of dollars trying to figure out what her condition was, but have been unsuccessful. Right when we were about to give up and give in to another 2k procedure we were referred by my mother to East Charleston Animal Hospital. Kim the receptionist took our call and she was so accommodating to our concerns.  We saw Julie and she reviewed all her records and was able to give us her medical opinion which totally made sense. We now have her on a week plan to see how she feels. I would highly recommend this facility and would love to give her 10 stars. She worked with our budget and gave our baby immediate medical attention vs running so many tests and playing the waiting game. Read Less

I'm a first time pet owner and Dr Ylarde and her staff were very helpful, took the time to explain things to me, and showed genuine care and affection toward my dog, Moose. The prices seemed reasonable and the facility was clearly looked after (I saw some of the assistants cleaning as I was there). JULIE A. YLARDE is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and I seriously question her abilities as a veterinarian.   My dog ate a dry slice of Saiga Palm tree, he was sneezing up wood splinters.  My friend took my dog into the East Charleston Animal Hospital because I had to work.  She walked into this dumpy, gross, dirty run down clinic for her appointment.  My dog is a 5lbs Shi Tzu, he had been stifling and sneezing from exhaling wood out of his nostrils.  She wouldn't listen to my friend (Jane) when she told her of my dog symptoms, she overtly ignored her, and pretended not to hear her.  Jane told Julie (Vet) that the dog was sneezing out wood.  Julie Y. Diagnosed my dog with hay fever..........  WHAT??  Jane (friend)  called me when she was in the parking lot, I told Jane, not to leave and to let me talk to her.Julie the Vet (I use this term loosely) told me that my dog had hayfever, I told Julie,  the last time I checked, hayfever doesn't make you sneeze out wood.  I told her that I'd pay to have my dog sedated and  to please scope his throat.........  She then told me that she doesn't have a scope small enough.  I then said, so you don't have the equipment you need to do your job?  She then responded rudely  and said, "Wow! Really, in trying to help you!" "I'll give you a refund!" "Take your dog!"  Then she hung up.......  I was  utterly shocked.  To make a long story short, I went to a REAL vet in the NW, they had the equipment needed to help my dog , there was WOOD in his throat.  He could have died....  BEWARE of this vet.  it's not worth the little money you'll be saving. I took our cat into a local vet hospital. I left our visit very upset and confused. Feeling kinda lost and not so right once my cat wasn't getting better after a week I did some research and found this office. Not only is the staff amazing but the doc was so friendly. She took the time to explain things throughly and actually cared. She is so knowledgable. I absolutely love this place and you cannot beat their prices. The only issue is that their address is at 601 instead of 701. Other than that, I have to commend this place on absolutely everything. Their prices are actually pretty good. I brought in my 1 yr old puppy for her annual shots as well as my mother's younger 8 week old puppy for his shots. They microchipped the young puppy and helped me out with my 1 yr old. It is clear that the entire facility cares for the animals. As a walk-in on a Saturday morning, I think the wait time was pretty good. Next time I will definitely make an appointment however. When my puppy was seen, she was treated gently and the vet was very nice and easy to understand. I told her about some problems I had been having with my puppy and she offered multiple solutions for me, none of them which would earn her any money; she genuinely cared about my dog and wasn't trying to make money off of me. Dr. Julie is SOOOO AMAZING!! She removed stones from my Shih Tzu's bladder... I was SHOCKED at the size of the stones! Koda (our dog) is very afraid of cages and she cries the entire time she's caged.. I explained to Dr. Julie I'd like to have her stay with me after the surgery.... Dr. julie not only arranged for me to take her home for the evening but she also gave me her personal cell phone in case anything went wrong over night... ******Dr. Julie knew we did not have a lot of extra funds to help our lil love.. We could barely afford the surgery... Would you believe that when we went to pick up Koda Dr. Julie had removed a hard lump on Koda's breast due to those often being/becoming breast cancer..... Of course as soon as she said that, my heart dropped thinking "Oh, no... How much is that?" She did that COMPLEMENTARY..... She has saved Koda's life twice and we just could not be more thankful for Dr. Julie & her genuine thoughtfulness. I have spent thousands of dollars at multiple vets across the valley in an effort to prevent my poodle's recurrent UTI's, including an internist. After numerous inconclusive ultrasounds and expensive tests, I felt defeated that she would be on antibiotics continuously for the rest of her life.After moving into the neighborhood and being walking distance from Dr. Julie, I thought I would seek another opinion. She was very attentive and took a detailed account of my pup's history, and collected all of her medical records from the various vets. She provided me a full explanation on my pup's anatomy and why she thought this kept occurring. It makes so much sense in hindsight, and I'm so frustrated that I wasted so much time at other vets when Dr. Julie saw a fairly simple cause and solution. So far, my pup has been in the best health in her five years of life. This is the longest she has gone with no signs of a UTI. I am so overjoyed that she is able to be herself without consistent pain and medication. I am forever grateful to Dr. Julie and will never take my pets anywhere else, no matter where I live in the valley. Brought my little chihuahua who hasn't been acting normal here since I needed answers to why my little pup hasn't been eating or drinking water. They were nice at first, but as soon as they're able to get into your wallet, they're vicious!! I knew it would cost $82.50 to have them examine my dog, but to come back with the same analysis as myself, ridiculous!! My estimate to run tests on my dog were as high as a down payment for a car!! We were mortified to find out our dog, Simba, had bladder stones. There was a animal hospital near our house, VCA Nellis Animal Hospital, and took him there. They quoted us over 900$ to move the bladder stones back into his bladder so he isn't in any pain anymore. Little did we know that didn't solve the problem. The stones would just be moved, not removed. Then they quoted us around $2,000 for the actual stone removal. UHH NO! & they told us over time the stones will migrate back & he would eventually die if he doesn't have the surgery. Desperately we tried to find another vet. Miraculously we found this hospital. They quoted us only 900$ for the actual surgery. WOW! Shoulda came here first would have saved 900$ & just used it for the actual surgery. They were incredibly nice. They even offered to take care of Simba for an extra day because no one was able to watch him when we worked during the day. I really recommend this place. The area isn't ideal but the staff & the care they give is totally worth it! & my simba is saved! Read Less

Dr. Ylarde is by far the best veterinarian my dog Rusty has ever had. Her knowledge, compassion and down to earth personality is just what you need when your pet is sick and in need of care. Recently my dog became very ill and Dr. Ylarde went above and beyond to diagnose, treat and care for him as if he were her own pet. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hospital environment is relaxed and unpretentious. Dr. Ylarde and her staff are really great people. They took good care of my puppy. This is my first dog and i was a little scared, but they made me feel good. My puppy Hank had to stay a few nights, and I was aloud to go visit him at anytime I wanted to. on my second visit Julie (Dr.) Ylarde let me and my dog go into a vacant room so we could hangout together. Julie put a big fluffy blanket on the floor for me and Hank to sit on. Now Hank is home with me and doin great! Thanks for his prescription medication. After shopping around at several vet hospitals, I came across East Charleston Animal Hospital. They are awesome!!! The vet Dr. Ylarde actually got on the floor with my cat. She was amazing and is also the new owner of the hopsital. It is very evident that she loves animals. The procedures my cat had done had been quoted by other vets at $600.00. We have a cat that showed up at our job site & we adopted her. All the staff pitched in to get her spayed, shots & other medical issues handled. The staff & the doctor have been very helpful, empathetic & resourceful. They are conveniently located on Charleston & do not seem to be overly busy.
