My Avian Veternarian, Doctor Kenton, is an excellent bird or exotic Veternarian. It is a must to have a Avian vet, when you have birds, parrots and such. One of my cockatoos had a situation where it was imperative that my bird be seen that day, I called and was told even though they were very busy that day, they would make room to fit my parrot in... the doctor explained the cause and the fix and answered all my questions never rushed his time with my parrot. Doctor Kenton also is excellent when caring for my rescue pittie, I just wished their office on Flamingo was closer to Green Valley area, but when it comes to great care of my feathered and furry family members, I will drive the extra mile. We used to take our dog here. After she was diagnosed diabetic, we had to take her in weekly to have her glucose checked. You could always tell that the staff here truly cared about your pet, and their well being. They even stayed well after closing once to run some impromptu tests, and never complained about it. This place is just around the corner from my home.  We take our cats and dog here.  On May 16th one of our cats was hit by a car and we rushed him here. I ran in with my baby bleeding in my arms and they rushed us into a private room and attended to him immediately.   Our Monty boy did not make it but the staff was all very kind and compassionate and gave us space and time to make the difficult choices that we had to make.  When I was on the floor crying, they sat down on the floor bedside me.  They did not rush us to make any decisions regarding his remains which I really appreciate and when we decided on cremating our boy they arranged everything for us.  We also received a card signed by all the staff saying they had planted a tree in Monty's name with the Arbor Day Foundation.  I've seen three different Dr's here and I don't mind who I see as they are all kind and take the time to answer our questions. Twenty years ago I moved to Las Vegas and watched my recommended veterinarian expand practice and consolidate into basically a Vet HMO.  That operation is now slick and stylish and have several specialties, and somewhere lost that personal appeal that makes a veterinary practice lodge into your psyche for the tasks that pet owners (good or bad) must contend with.  Flamingo Pet Clinic helped me with "the worst" pet owner situation and didn't challenge my decision.  I received the same compassion and care that would have cost 2X if I had used my former service.  I kept Flamingo Pet Clinic in mind and now with new dog in tow, made the trek with a sunny disposition, their appointment shots and cursory check up were really $5.00 more than going to the 3-hour wait "all shots except rabies for $30" special deals (I opted for a car ride with a friend).  I do not like stressing my animals and 3 hours is a long time to save $5.00 or $25), and the "specials" all dwindle when you are waiting ad-nausium for a five minute suite of preventative shots ... but I did it once.  They are accessible by bus, the only challenge being negotiating a walk across Flamingo.  My hat's off to Dr. Bryan Kenton and his staff who are in service to pet welfare and pet owners in the sincerest form of trust (they can't talk but they believe your assessment) Flamingo Pet Clinic is the place for a realistic second opinion or a nuts-and-bolts assessment and sincere treatment.  Thanks so much for being a "no frills" hub for reasonable animal care. I recommend Dr. Kenton for any cat or bird companions you have! He takes the time to answer every question I have and always makes sure I understand the answers. I brought my overweight cat to All About Cats and they recommended we feed him food they sell there to help him lose weight. He kept gaining so I brought him to Dr. Kenton and it turns out the food All About Cats sold me was actually CAUSING him to gain weight. Dr. Kenton recommended brands that they don't even sell at Flamingo Pet Clinic and our chubby boy is finally losing weight! I feel comfortable that they have my cat's needs in mind and not profits from food sales. I also have a bird and Dr. Kenton is so knowledgeable, gentle and compassionate. I took my dog in for dental work and the prices were lower than most other places. I had a concern about my dog's paw that was swollen and the doctor wasn't quick to do surgery as I thought might happen and instead he was very honest and said, let's try an antibiotic first before jumping into surgery. I found the vet to be honest , communicated well and very friendly. The staff was also friendly, efficient and themgal did a good job in the dental work. Read Less

Well I don't know exactly what to say I love it there. I love dr. Kenton and all the other wonderful doctors are always great with there advice my dogs like them I mean my puppies that is. Always have good advice to give and their prices are very reasonable and they always try to work with you they don't feel pushy at all. With that being said I will never go anywhere else. Last couple times I've been in I've waited over 50 minutes in the waiting room even though I showed up on time, and then I waited 30 minutes in the back! Today I walked out after an hour. They truly make you feel welcome and that you are getting the best care possible. We have been to other vets in the past who often have ordered unnecessary tests and overcharged for things. I started going to Flamingo Pet Clinic about 7 years ago when I had a macaw rehomed to me. They are one of the few clinics in town that specialize in birds and other exotics. They've not only taken great care of my Macaw, but also my Quaker (rehomed as well), my 2 dogs (down to one since one passed) and my 4 cats. They actually saved Scrappy, my big fluffy tabby a few months ago when I rushed him in one Saturday morning. I found out he was a few hours away from death due to a Urinary blockage which caused him to go into acute renal failure. It was a very scary and stressful time for me and I'm sure for Scrappy as well! Dr Buchanan kept me informed of his progress and she was very kind and caring. Dr Kenton and Dr Williams have seen all my critters as well and it's obvious that they love animals. I highly recommend this vet clinic. The staff and veterinarians were wonderful- calming, caring, experienced and knowledgeable. I had an emergency with my desert tortoise, they took him to the back immediately - at that moment the paperwork was not the first item to address even though I had never been there. They were not only gentle and caring for my stressed tortoise, they also took care of me...I was very upset and needed attention too.  This is definitely a clinic you want to take your animal critters to. This is the only vet I will bring my birds to. I love their friendly professional service. And most of all I love the care that they provide for my green-check conures. They see all types of pets but I personally appreciate that they are Avian specialists. On more than one occasion my birds have encountered a few boo-boos here and there and some have been rather serious. Thanks to their service I'm glad to say my little flock is doing really well. For me it's very important that my birds go to see you veterinarian that understands how to care for birds. I have Heard horror stories when people take their pet to the wrong vet. We took our cats for an annual check-up and vaccine update and were very satisfied with both the staff and the veterinarian. Dr. Buchanan had great catbed-side manner and was knowledgable on all the medical questions we had regarding our pets. I had no problem making an appointment over the phone, they had times available for my convenience and the price was very reasonable. The wait time from walking in the door to seeing the vet was about 5 minutes, the exam and vaccine administration did not take long but was not rushed by any means. It took me a really long time to write this review for this place. I literally have only been here twice and I never plan to go back again. A few things i did not appreciate. 1) The place is small, dingy, does not look too clean.2) Staff is super unorganized and look like they do not want to be there. How is it that you forget to charge me on my first visit for shots and meds for my pup, but then on the following visit ring up a bill of like over $150 and tell me that they forgot to charge me last visit so they are charging me both visits in one? 3)The vet that took care of my dog was so rough. He did a scrape testing for my pup, who ended up having localized demodex mange and he literally left him a scar the size of a dime on his forehead. My dog was bleeding a bunch. My dog still is trying to grow hair on that spot but no luck yet. He also seemed to rush through all my questions and also seemed really annoyed during my appt. After learning that Dr. Moore is no longer with the Green Valley Animal Hospital and that they no longer provide bird care, I panicked. Upon calling the clinic where he relocated his practice, I was told that he was off today. Frantically, I requested a pet clinic for bird care and was given FLAMINGO PET CLINIC. I was told to come immediately, so I placed my 16-year-old adopted Quaker in the travel cage and made the drive. He was diminishing rapidly and minutes prior to arriving at the clinic, my Jammer made his last sounds. I feared he had expired enroute. The professionals at the clinic handled the situation with utmost care, informing me that he showed signs of being past time to be revived. Nonetheless, they gave him one more revival attempt because I asked. Dr. Bryan Kenton spent time explaining to me that the nature of the bird's age made it likely that he was simply ready to die of old age. Meanwhile, my other 18-year-old Quaker still thrives in the same cage habitat. No rhyme or reason, but still a mourning pet owner appreciates these reassurances from a professional who knows birds. Dr. Kenton is absolutely compassionate and left an impression of someone who seriously cares about the creatures he cares for and their owners. Thanks Dr. Kenton. You helped me through a heartbreaking loss of a beloved pet.Followup: Two days later, I received a thoughtful sympathy card signed by Dr.Kenton and each of his staff.) We get there and the "vet" took two seconds to look at her and said her eye wasn't savable and they were about to close and couldn't help! WHY tell me to come in then?!? We took our little baby to the Flamingo Pet Clinic at 7:30. They weren't open untill 8 but I saw one of the techs arrive, Jason, and explained the situation. As soon he opened the clinic, he got us in a room and gave her something for pain!The doctor arrived shortly after. Dr. Williams is beyond fantastic! This staff is definitely here for the animals! He spent time with her and even said it wasn't necessarily a total loss for the eye. They sent us home with an ointment to help the swelling of the eyelid, antibiotics and pain medicine. He needs the swelling to go down to see the eye and source of the problem. Thank God for people like Jason and Dr. Williams who truly care about the animals. This morning I took my 10 yr old pomeranian, Kiyomi to see Dr. Kenton. She had been sick for 6 days and wasn't eating. I had taken her to her regular vet twice last week and she wasn't getting better. After Dr. Kenton examined her and finding out the cause of her illness, I sadly decided to put her down. Her illness was too delicate for her to handle. Dr. Kenton was so caring and loving when it was time to euthanized my baby. From now on he's my dog's vet. Dr. Kenton is our doctor, my girls love him and he loves them. When I bring my girls in and I'm full of questions he always has the time I need. All of the people that work at Flamingo Pet Clinic know my girls and love them. When we go into the office everyone comes out one by one to greet us and talk and play with the girls. Why does the most awesome vet in town have to be located a million miles from my house?!? I was sent here by the place (Puppy Boutique!) where I got my little Frenchie for a free checkup.  I was a little skeptical because it's on the east side and was planning on going for my free visit and then finding somewhere closer to my digs.  Then I met Dr. Williams.  There is just something so awesome about a veterinarian who loves your dog so much he would rather play with him and check him out then interact with his humans! haha.  Believe it or not, I've personally known a vet who hated animals.  One of many bad life choices for him, I guess.  I digress . . .  The front desk staff is really helpful and nice.  This place is obviously beloved by all variety of pet owners.  The waiting area was booming, and I saw several different dogs and even a few kitties.  Dr. Williams is truly the puppy whisperer and their prices are very reasonable.  I will definitely be back.  This place is worth the trek from the Southwest. Dr. Williams and his staff saved my Parrot. He was barely breathing from drowning in the pool. He had water in his lungs, he was barely alive. He had little chances of living, but he made it! I was looking for an avian specialist when I found this vet clinic on the recommended list. When I first looked, there were only two vets in town qualified to see birds, and this one was closest to my home. Dr Hauk has seen both my birds and has done a fine job of advising me how to keep them healthy. He's very technical and extremely professional, almost stiff in his dealings with patients and their parents. Still, I trust his judgement when it comes to my nanday conures. Dr Kenton is a wonderful vet! He has seen all my dogs (I have 5) and helped me through a very trying time with one of my dogs who had a debilitating case of MMM a year ago, and currently suffers from periodic inter-digital cyst infections. He has an excellent bedside manner and 4 out of my 5 dogs loves going to see him. The one that doesn't has had some trauma that results in behavioral issues with men, so I can't fault her for not liking vet visits. Read Less
