My little Sweetie who is 13 has had some heart issues and recently a tooth problem we have taken her to Ann road Animal Hospital when we moved to Vegas, so I called them and made an appointment for yesterday. THAT WAS A DISASTER AND WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME AND SO STRESSFUL TO MY SWEETIE... we looked on line and found Island Pet Hospital. My husband took Sweetie there this morning. WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. From the time he entered every staff member treated my little Sweetie with love and kindness. Doctor Watson took the time needed with Sweetie and explained things to my husband. Sweetie was not stressed out as she was treated so nice. THANK YOU SO MUCH ISLAND PET HOSPITAL. My father-in-law has been taking his dogs here for several years. Long story short, he fell very ill and was in the hospital for 3 months. My husband and I live in New Hampshire. Island Pet Hospital bent over backwards to help his dogs and keep our familes mind at ease knowing that they were in good hands. Dr. Haewood is one of the best vets we have ever been to!!! Her staff is very kind. I really like Shenay..... she talks to our baby how we do and Gretchen, our German Shephard loves it!!! Gretchen was viciously attacked at our front door by 2 pitbulls; almost died. They all jumped in to save her and we are very grateful!!! (We, of course, are not grateful for our bill.... but it had to be as the doctor did a lot of work on her and the staff did as well!!... worth it for sure!) She is a very caring vet and knowledgeable .... I will highly recommend Island Hospital any day. We thank God we found this vet and her staff or our poor German Shephard would be dead......

I have been taking BJ to Island since I moved to Vegas (over 8 years) and they have been nothing but wonderful, caring, and compassionate. Recently, BJ had dental surgery and some cysts removed from his eyelid, I was very concerned about the procedure since is a very senior dog. The doctor called me after the procedure, let me know what she found, and let me know that he was doing fine. A few days following the surgery, BJ had irritated the surgery site near his eye. I called Island and they encouraged me to come down so they could have a look, and they were did so with no additional fee. I always suggest Island to anyone living in the NW, and now my brother in law even takes his beast there (and loves it). BJ has seen a number of the doctors that have practiced there over the last 8 years, and we have ALWAYS had a great experience with both the vets and the reception staff. Thank you!

I have been taking my dog here since moving to Las Vegas in 2008. We have worked with many of the doctors, and each had been kind and gentle with my fur baby. They fully explain the situation, and are empathetic when I express fears. When I need to leave my baby overnight or for testing, I know that the doctors and their support team are taking great care of him. When I moved to the other side of town, I continued to bring him to Island for his care, and have suggested Island to my friends and family, many of whom have now also made Island the vet of their choice.

This is the first vet I tried when moving here from California several years ago and I haven't been anywhere since. My dogs are like my children and Island Pet Hospital takes such good care of them. Dr. Watson has been there with us through everything with our black Labrador, from cancer masses to a torn Achilles tendon. All staff members are so pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this office to anyone and everyone with pets!

We have been working with Island Pet since we moved to Las Vegas almost 10 years ago. They have seen our lives changed each time we adopted a pet or lost a pet.
Never have I ever been treated with such love and compassion by the caring staff at Island Pet. You and your pet are greeted the minute you enter, and from there the experience just gets better. I love the fact that the vets have my pets health as their first interest. We have two great Danes, and the love and care they both received by the vets and the staff was second to none. From the warm greeting they give my pet to the treat as we leave out the door, such a positive experience. Plus the fact that there are always techs available to help buckle your pet in the car. Fry is 180 pounds and Bender is 135, and the ease in which they handle and care for my boys is wonderful.
Even though they do not care for rabbits, my bunnies have still been given such a loving send off when it came time to have them travel over the rainbow bridge. No pet is ever forgotten at Island. Each pet is unique and loved by the staff and vets.
Thank you for the love and care you give my boys. We love Island Pet Hospital.

I have been going here with both my beagles since my boy was 8 weeks old. Both my pups have been well cared for. When they were younger I would board them at Island and the care was exceptional. As they have gotten older it seems too much stress on them not to be at home, so I have them pet sat while I'm out of town. My girl fractured her spine when she was about 4 and Island took exceptional care of her until she could go in for fusion surgery at another facility. I am extremely pleased with Island's care of my fur babies and will continue to bring my pups there.

Last Saturday we laid our beloved Peaches to rest at the Island Pet Hospital. Although our hearts were filled with sorrow and grief, I wanted to take this time to thank all the doctors and staff for making this process as painless as possible. When we arrived at the facility tears began to flow uncontrollably. The hospital staff did a wonderful job accommodating our needs dispite our highly emotional state. Since my pets have been receiving care from this hospital for the greater portion of 13 years, the reception staff has developed a quality relationship with my family. The reception staff wasn't afraid to give us hugs and console us in this difficult time. It was greatly appreciated. After Peaches made a graceful transition, they gave us all the time we needed to gather ourselves for a safe drive home. I especially want to thank Dr. Dawsey and the wonderful ladies in the reception area for their continued compassion and professionalism. We will see you all on our next visit to the Island Pet Hospital.

We've been coming here for many years. They have always been a wonderful and caring staff and we have never felt rushed during our appointments! They have always welcomed us in during emergencies and have never once seemed annoyed or bothered. Dr.Watson and the other doctors are so wonderful and patient. We recently had to put our dog down due to cancer and they were amazing every step of the way; from diagnosis to the day we had to say good bye they were flexible with our schedules and took their time to care for Rock. Dr.Watson was so amazing and let us take our time saying good bye and talked us through the entire process which I'm sure was not easy. Thank you for everything you've done for us and our family!

I'm not the type to write reviews often however I thought it was necessary this time around. I've been taking my senior dog to Island Pet for years. As she is 18 years old, shes been to the vet a few times in the last 6 months. Every time I was told "If she's still eating and drinking and quality of life is still there, I don't see why she should be put to sleep." Every visit the Dr took x-rays, bloodwork, and ultrasounds yet they could never pin point why she was excessively losing weight. These vet visits cost a fortune yet every time I'm told I would receive follow up calls to see how she was doing and never once received a call.Last week while out of town my brother had to take my dog to an emergency vet visit (to the vet he goes to, Charleston Pet Hospital) and the Dr there told him to consider putting her down. When I got back into town, she passed away. Since it was late night, my family took her to the Emergency Vet on Tropicana & Durango.. Now THAT place is AMAZING. The staff was so nice, cared about us, and grieved with us. The next day I called Island Pet to update them on Peanut and the girl on the phone did not care what so ever. She said "Okay" then hung up on me. I even called the pharmacy for myself that day and the lady on the phone could tell I was distraught, asked me how I was doing, and told me to feel better. SOME RANDOM LADY ON THE PHONE WHO HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS GOING THROUGH WISHED ME WELL BUT MY DOG'S OWN VET OF YEARS WOULDN'T??? Shame on your staff! I will NEVER come back here again nor refer anyone here.

Terrible!!! I have been there 2xs now. 1st time I thought maybe the Doc was having a bad day. His bedside manner was than desirable- NOPE, it's just him! Today I took my dog, he did not examine her at all, told me that he needed $409 for x-ray and blood work and the surgery would be starting at $1,500. This would be for spaying and Pyometra removal. I told him that it was outrageous. His response was "we are cheaper than California" Yeah, he said that! I told him had given me no second option. Then when I asked for antibiotics, he said "yeah, we can do it, but I highly recommend the surgery". When I got home I called Southern Nevada Spay and Neuter clinic- same operation....$395.00!!! Mind you he never even touched my lil dog to examine her, only to give her a shot. DO not waste your money here!!

I do like the Vets but the front desk receptionist are very rude and cold. One in particular, Sara, she will never smile, greet you or try to act like she actually likes animals. I think it is just a job for her and she really doesn't care about you or your pet. I will not use them anymore with their rude staff. It's really sad because Island opened it's door with some wonderful staff and great doctors and now the service is terrible. I don't know how the doctors don't see this themselves.

Throughout the years, my husband and i have been to different vets in town and never liked any of them as much as we like coming to the Island! We started coming here last year with our 4 dogs and 4 cats because we're moving to Hawaii and needed to begin the process to take them all on our journey! First of all, the staff is great and appear to pass no judgment on us or our large pack - this is a rare experience for us. Dr. Hagewood and nurses has been with us every step since the beginning and we now are in the "waiting game" point of the process to be able to move with the furbabies - she has been absolutely wonderful! Today we had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Watson who helped us understand what was happening with one of our babies that is unfortunately ill and she has helped us with a treatment plan to get her feeling a little better. Bottom line is that we feel the staff at IPH genuinely cares about our animals and their humans, they are very informative without being intimidating, and they're very understanding of our different circumstances! Yeaaaaah we're never tooooo happy about the final bills, but hey we have 8 animals and the services needed are costly no matter where we go, but at IPH they have worked with us and we certainly appreciate any help we can get. Needless to say, we will be taking our herd to IPH until we leave the mainland and will be recommending this place to anyone, especially if they are going through a similar process! Upon a recommendation from a friend, who I know uses Island for her personal pets and also with the rescue organization she associates with, I decided to make an appointment for my lab. She suggested Dr. Collins so that is who I made the appointment with. Dr. Collins really took the time to address the concerns I was having and did not rush the appointment at all. He really engaged with Jenna, like on the floor petting her, which I thought was really cool. Never had a vet do that before. You can tell he really loves animals. This is the first vet I recall asking me what food I feed because they put that in the chart. The office visit was $45 which is about the going rate, and Dr. Collins also trimmed Jenna's nails as a courtesy. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because they charge for vaccination appointments. In my experience those don't include an office charge visit. So besides taking my furbabies elsewhere for vaccinations I will be using this vet in the future when an issue arises.

There are not enough words to describe the type of Veterinarian Dr. Collins is. I have never had the pleasure of taking my pets to someone like him or his staff before. I was referred to them by my neighbor who knows the owner and I was not disappointed. Dr. Collins is smart, caring, and a genuinely good person. He even called me the morning after our last minute emergency appointment to check on my dog Sammy. Sammy isn't just a pet, he was part of my strength during my husband's deployment and a best friend with me for the past 9 years. And while Dr. Collins could have rightly charged a fortune for all Sammy needed, he didn't. As long as we live in Vegas, we will NEVER goanywhere else. Thank you to all of the staff at Island Pet Hospital.

Veterinary care seemed good, but the I have to agree with others that some of the reception staff have poor people skills. I have dealt with one lady who was very friendly and helpful, but there have been a couple who were just rude. Their prices also seem high for annual vaccines (more than double what we have paid at a good vet nearby), so we are going back to our vet that we know and love.

When boarding the owner has instructed his staff to keep certain breeds separate and he charges more to board them regardless of there history. Elaine the boarding lady is awesome!! She made us feel better about leaving Sasha, she loves dogs. I think this place would work best for small breeds. Since the boarding area is great for little ones.

The Island Pet Hospital is the best hands down. They have the CLEANEST facility I've ever seen and their staff is so courteous, helpful and super friendly. They make me feel like family, which is super important when trusting my animals care to someone. They are not expensive and are convenient to get to. They do everything and they board animals all at very competitive prices, and my dog always leaves so happy, I wonder if she misses me at all. I seriously love this place. No matter where I move in town this is my vet! I can't say enough good things about the doctors and staff and cleanliness. Its far superior to any vet I've ever been to in town or out of town for that matter. I never have wait times, and my dog loves it there. They treat her like she is a true member of their family. They are genuine, sincere and are knowledgeable most of all. They are always a phone call away and ready to help.

My wife and I have been taking our pets to Island Pet Hospital for quite a few years now and have been very satisfied with the care the doctors here have given them. We have even boarded an old dog of ours here while on vacation and were very happy with the special care they gave him while we were away. The staff made sure that he received his twice-a-day insulin shots and kept him in a large, private and immaculate pen. The office is kept very neat and clean as well and the front desk staff impress us with their competency, courtesy and compassion.We are grateful for how willing the doctors here are to spend as much time as they think pet owners need to understand exactly what the condition of their pet is and what options they have to treat it. They, in fact, treat the pets as if they were their very own. We believe that, due to their special and personalized care, the doctors here were able to extend by a few more years the life of one of our most cherished dogs.Regarding the issue of cost for treatment that some commenters seem to have: My wife and I have taken the many pets we have had in the three different states we have lived in to quite a few different vets and found that the cost for treatment and medication at Island Pet Hospital is not only reasonable, but in many cases cheaper than at the other pet hospitals and vets we have patronized.

Thank you Dr. Goldman and Island Pet Hospital for taking the time to take care of my 2 little dwarf hamsters. Dr. Goldman took the time to explain the tumors and surgeries, along with a risk versus benefit discussion. Then he was able to perform the surgery that same day (I had a morning appointment) and picked up my little girls that afternoon. The staff there is great, very friendly and everyone wants to say hi to every patient that walks through the door.

I've used Island Pet for years & they have been outstanding in caring for 4 cats I've had. They truly care about animals; even the vets give kisses and play with them showing tenderness when they are healthy & tremendous compassion when all avenues have been exhausted and the most humane thing possible is to hold your little one while they are put down. The staff is very accommodating, understanding, even sending sympathy cards signed by everyone if you experience a loss. In the case of one cat they had been treating for a while who took a turn for the worse over a weekend and had to go to Emergency Vet, Dr Goldman called & expressed his sympathy and how much everyone enjoyed treating Ophelia. They offer alternative treatments such as chiropractic, advanced nutrition options and wholistic approach to treating each patient. I have never felt price gouged here, quite the contrary, there have been numerous occasions when each vet has said testing, expensive procedures etc were unnecessary. Another great thing is when you have an ailing pet, they allow you to visit and try to feed them but are very candid when decision making time is at hand. I think nothing of traveling from Summerlin to them & will always take my critters here. Recently, my 7 month old kitten broke a vase and cut her pad badly & they saw us 3x in a week with little notice and were able to help Antigone heal. Cannot recommend them enough and will be forever grateful for their true love of all animals!*** Special note for cat lovers who want to use Soft Paws (the platic claw covers that come in cool colors & allow kitty to express their instinct to scratch whilst saving your furniture & skin: they apply these for you here, too. Last about a month & it is wayyyy easier than attempting to glue them on yourself IMO ****

I love Island Pet!I started going here when I was paying at fortune at my last vet and my dog wasn't getting any better. The old vet was treating my dog for a constant cough with various antibiotics and cough medicines. I switched to Island Pet after doing a search for holistic vets.I took my dog to see Dr. Goldman and after some testing he diagnosed her with heart failure and switched all her medications...and even though the overall prognosis wasn't great, he did help her and get her comfortable. And, I finally saw some results. He was excellent about explaining her condition, her medications, all the tests & the results,, etc etc. We ended up losing her about almost 2 years later, but I believe the only reason we had her as long as we did is because of Dr. Goldman's care and the staff at Island Pet. They even sent us a really pretty card signed by the staff when she passed!I currently have 2 dogs, one of which was Dr. Goldman put on a special diet and helped her to lose 20 pounds!The front desk staff is fabulous! The techs & boarding staff visibly care about the animals. I have seen all of the doctors at least once, and they are all awesome, but I am partial to Dr. Goldman!You always want to believe that people love your furry kids as much as you do, but at Island Pet you really feel that way!

Dr. Haewood is one of the best vets we have ever been to!!! Her staff is very kind. I really like Shenay..... she talks to our baby how we do and Gretchen, our German Shephard loves it!!! Gretchen was viciously attacked at our front door by 2 pitbulls; almost died. They all jumped in to save her and we are very grateful!!! (We, of course, are not grateful for our bill.... but it had to be as the doctor did a lot of work on her and the staff did as well!!... worth it for sure!) I have been taking BJ to Island since I moved to Vegas (over 8 years) and they have been nothing but wonderful, caring, and compassionate. Recently, BJ had dental surgery and some cysts removed from his eyelid, I was very concerned about the procedure since is a very senior dog. The doctor called me after the procedure, let me know what she found, and let me know that he was doing fine. A few days following the surgery, BJ had irritated the surgery site near his eye. I called Island and they encouraged me to come down so they could have a look, and they were did so with no additional fee. I always suggest Island to anyone living in the NW, and now my brother in law even takes his beast there (and loves it). BJ has seen a number of the doctors that have practiced there over the last 8 years, and we have ALWAYS had a great experience with both the vets and the reception staff. Thank you!

I have been taking my dog here since moving to Las Vegas in 2008. We have worked with many of the doctors, and each had been kind and gentle with my fur baby. They fully explain the situation, and are empathetic when I express fears. When I need to leave my baby overnight or for testing, I know that the doctors and their support team are taking great care of him. When I moved to the other side of town, I continued to bring him to Island for his care, and have suggested Island to my friends and family, many of whom have now also made Island the vet of their choice.

Dr. Watson has been there with us through everything with our black Labrador, from cancer masses to a torn Achilles tendon. All staff members are so pleasant and helpful. We have been working with Island Pet since we moved to Las Vegas almost 10 years ago. They have seen our lives changed each time we adopted a pet or lost a pet.
Never have I ever been treated with such love and compassion by the caring staff at Island Pet. You and your pet are greeted the minute you enter, and from there the experience just gets better. I love the fact that the vets have my pets health as their first interest. We have two great Danes, and the love and care they both received by the vets and the staff was second to none. From the warm greeting they give my pet to the treat as we leave out the door, such a positive experience. Plus the fact that there are always techs available to help buckle your pet in the car. Fry is 180 pounds and Bender is 135, and the ease in which they handle and care for my boys is wonderful.
Even though they do not care for rabbits, my bunnies have still been given such a loving send off when it came time to have them travel over the rainbow bridge. No pet is ever forgotten at Island. Each pet is unique and loved by the staff and vets.
Thank you for the love and care you give my boys. We love Island Pet Hospital.

I have been going here with both my beagles since my boy was 8 weeks old. Both my pups have been well cared for. When they were younger I would board them at Island and the care was exceptional. As they have gotten older it seems too much stress on them not to be at home, so I have them pet sat while I'm out of town. My girl fractured her spine when she was about 4 and Island took exceptional care of her until she could go in for fusion surgery at another facility. I am extremely pleased with Island's care of my fur babies and will continue to bring my pups there.

Last Saturday we laid our beloved Peaches to rest at the Island Pet Hospital. Although our hearts were filled with sorrow and grief, I wanted to take this time to thank all the doctors and staff for making this process as painless as possible. When we arrived at the facility tears began to flow uncontrollably. The hospital staff did a wonderful job accommodating our needs dispite our highly emotional state. Since my pets have been receiving care from this hospital for the greater portion of 13 years, the reception staff has developed a quality relationship with my family. The reception staff wasn't afraid to give us hugs and console us in this difficult time. It was greatly appreciated. After Peaches made a graceful transition, they gave us all the time we needed to gather ourselves for a safe drive home. I especially want to thank Dr. Dawsey and the wonderful ladies in the reception area for their continued compassion and professionalism. We will see you all on our next visit to the Island Pet Hospital.

We've been coming here for many years. They have always been a wonderful and caring staff and we have never felt rushed during our appointments! They have always welcomed us in during emergencies and have never once seemed annoyed or bothered. Dr.Watson and the other doctors are so wonderful and patient. We recently had to put our dog down due to cancer and they were amazing every step of the way; from diagnosis to the day we had to say good bye they were flexible with our schedules and took their time to care for Rock. Dr.Watson was so amazing and let us take our time saying good bye and talked us through the entire process which I'm sure was not easy. Thank you for everything you've done for us and our family!

I'm not the type to write reviews often however I thought it was necessary this time around. I've been taking my senior dog to Island Pet for years. As she is 18 years old, shes been to the vet a few times in the last 6 months. Every time I was told "If she's still eating and drinking and quality of life is still there, I don't see why she should be put to sleep." Every visit the Dr took x-rays, bloodwork, and ultrasounds yet they could never pin point why she was excessively losing weight. These vet visits cost a fortune yet every time I'm told I would receive follow up calls to see how she was doing and never once received a call.Last week while out of town my brother had to take my dog to an emergency vet visit (to the vet he goes to, Charleston Pet Hospital) and the Dr there told him to consider putting her down. When I got back into town, she passed away. Since it was late night, my family took her to the Emergency Vet on Tropicana & Durango.. Now THAT place is AMAZING. The staff was so nice, cared about us, and grieved with us. The next day I called Island Pet to update them on Peanut and the girl on the phone did not care what so ever. She said "Okay" then hung up on me. I even called the pharmacy for myself that day and the lady on the phone could tell I was distraught, asked me how I was doing, and told me to feel better. SOME RANDOM LADY ON THE PHONE WHO HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS GOING THROUGH WISHED ME WELL BUT MY DOG'S OWN VET OF YEARS WOULDN'T??? Shame on your staff! I will NEVER come back here again nor refer anyone here.

Terrible!!! I have been there 2xs now. 1st time I thought maybe the Doc was having a bad day. His bedside manner was than desirable- NOPE, it's just him! Today I took my dog, he did not examine her at all, told me that he needed $409 for x-ray and blood work and the surgery would be starting at $1,500. This would be for spaying and Pyometra removal. I told him that it was outrageous. His response was "we are cheaper than California" Yeah, he said that! I told him had given me no second option. Then when I asked for antibiotics, he said "yeah, we can do it, but I highly recommend the surgery". When I got home I called Southern Nevada Spay and Neuter clinic- same operation....$395.00!!! Mind you he never even touched my lil dog to examine her, only to give her a shot. DO not waste your money here!!

I love Island Pet! It doesn't matter who my fur babies (cats) see, both Dr. Collins and Dr. Watson do everything they can to make my babies and I comfy and reassured. They take their time to educate me and my family of our pets' conditions and we never feel rushed or not important. I would recommend Island Pet Hospital to any person who wants the best care for their animal loves.

I do like the Vets but the front desk receptionist are very rude and cold. One in particular, Sara, she will never smile, greet you or try to act like she actually likes animals. I think it is just a job for her and she really doesn't care about you or your pet. I will not use them anymore with their rude staff. It's really sad because Island opened it's door with some wonderful staff and great doctors and now the service is terrible. I don't know how the doctors don't see this themselves.

Didn't have to wait for my appointment time. Place seemed cleaned and organized. The doctor was very friendly and the exam was free as a first time client. We will be back.

Throughout the years, my husband and i have been to different vets in town and never liked any of them as much as we like coming to the Island! We started coming here last year with our 4 dogs and 4 cats because we're moving to Hawaii and needed to begin the process to take them all on our journey! First of all, the staff is great and appear to pass no judgment on us or our large pack - this is a rare experience for us. Dr. Hagewood and nurses has been with us every step since the beginning and we now are in the "waiting game" point of the process to be able to move with the furbabies - she has been absolutely wonderful! Today we had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Watson who helped us understand what was happening with one of our babies that is unfortunately ill and she has helped us with a treatment plan to get her feeling a little better. Bottom line is that we feel the staff at IPH genuinely cares about our animals and their humans, they are very informative without being intimidating, and they're very understanding of our different circumstances! Yeaaaaah we're never tooooo happy about the final bills, but hey we have 8 animals and the services needed are costly no matter where we go, but at IPH they have worked with us and we certainly appreciate any help we can get. Needless to say, we will be taking our herd to IPH until we leave the mainland and will be recommending this place to anyone, especially if they are going through a similar process! I love this place because they give military discounts and their pricing is competitive. They also refer out to specialized facilities to better serve the patient(s). :)

Upon a recommendation from a friend, who I know uses Island for her personal pets and also with the rescue organization she associates with, I decided to make an appointment for my lab. She suggested Dr. Collins so that is who I made the appointment with. Dr. Collins really took the time to address the concerns I was having and did not rush the appointment at all. He really engaged with Jenna, like on the floor petting her, which I thought was really cool. Never had a vet do that before. You can tell he really loves animals. This is the first vet I recall asking me what food I feed because they put that in the chart. The office visit was $45 which is about the going rate, and Dr. Collins also trimmed Jenna's nails as a courtesy. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because they charge for vaccination appointments. In my experience those don't include an office charge visit. So besides taking my furbabies elsewhere for vaccinations I will be using this vet in the future when an issue arises.

Dr. Collins is the absolute BEST! He gets right down on the floor with my two Goldens Max and Ruby. He plays and let's them lick him to death. We are treated like family and never rushed. The staff is amazing, not only are they friendly, but very knowledgeable. Even with our two cats he is very lovable. We have definitely found our forever vet for our fur babies. We will be more than happy to recommend Island Pet Hospital.

There are not enough words to describe the type of Veterinarian Dr. Collins is. I have never had the pleasure of taking my pets to someone like him or his staff before. I was referred to them by my neighbor who knows the owner and I was not disappointed. Dr. Collins is smart, caring, and a genuinely good person. He even called me the morning after our last minute emergency appointment to check on my dog Sammy. Sammy isn't just a pet, he was part of my strength during my husband's deployment and a best friend with me for the past 9 years. And while Dr. Collins could have rightly charged a fortune for all Sammy needed, he didn't. As long as we live in Vegas, we will NEVER goanywhere else. Thank you to all of the staff at Island Pet Hospital.

Veterinary care seemed good, but the I have to agree with others that some of the reception staff have poor people skills. I have dealt with one lady who was very friendly and helpful, but there have been a couple who were just rude. Their prices also seem high for annual vaccines (more than double what we have paid at a good vet nearby), so we are going back to our vet that we know and love.

Front desk women are rude. They don't care about the pets, it's just a job for them. When boarding the owner has instructed his staff to keep certain breeds separate and he charges more to board them regardless of there history. Elaine the boarding lady is awesome!! She made us feel better about leaving Sasha, she loves dogs. I think this place would work best for small breeds. Since the boarding area is great for little ones.

The Island Pet Hospital is the best hands down. They have the CLEANEST facility I've ever seen and their staff is so courteous, helpful and super friendly. They make me feel like family, which is super important when trusting my animals care to someone. They are not expensive and are convenient to get to. They do everything and they board animals all at very competitive prices, and my dog always leaves so happy, I wonder if she misses me at all. I seriously love this place. No matter where I move in town this is my vet! I can't say enough good things about the doctors and staff and cleanliness. Its far superior to any vet I've ever been to in town or out of town for that matter. I never have wait times, and my dog loves it there. They treat her like she is a true member of their family. They are genuine, sincere and are knowledgeable most of all. They are always a phone call away and ready to help.

My wife and I have been taking our pets to Island Pet Hospital for quite a few years now and have been very satisfied with the care the doctors here have given them. We have even boarded an old dog of ours here while on vacation and were very happy with the special care they gave him while we were away. The staff made sure that he received his twice-a-day insulin shots and kept him in a large, private and immaculate pen. The office is kept very neat and clean as well and the front desk staff impress us with their competency, courtesy and compassion.We are grateful for how willing the doctors here are to spend as much time as they think pet owners need to understand exactly what the condition of their pet is and what options they have to treat it. They, in fact, treat the pets as if they were their very own. We believe that, due to their special and personalized care, the doctors here were able to extend by a few more years the life of one of our most cherished dogs.Regarding the issue of cost for treatment that some commenters seem to have: My wife and I have taken the many pets we have had in the three different states we have lived in to quite a few different vets and found that the cost for treatment and medication at Island Pet Hospital is not only reasonable, but in many cases cheaper than at the other pet hospitals and vets we have patronized.

Thank you Dr. Goldman and Island Pet Hospital for taking the time to take care of my 2 little dwarf hamsters. Dr. Goldman took the time to explain the tumors and surgeries, along with a risk versus benefit discussion. Then he was able to perform the surgery that same day (I had a morning appointment) and picked up my little girls that afternoon. The staff there is great, very friendly and everyone wants to say hi to every patient that walks through the door.

I've used Island Pet for years & they have been outstanding in caring for 4 cats I've had. They truly care about animals; even the vets give kisses and play with them showing tenderness when they are healthy & tremendous compassion when all avenues have been exhausted and the most humane thing possible is to hold your little one while they are put down. The staff is very accommodating, understanding, even sending sympathy cards signed by everyone if you experience a loss. In the case of one cat they had been treating for a while who took a turn for the worse over a weekend and had to go to Emergency Vet, Dr Goldman called & expressed his sympathy and how much everyone enjoyed treating Ophelia. They offer alternative treatments such as chiropractic, advanced nutrition options and wholistic approach to treating each patient. I have never felt price gouged here, quite the contrary, there have been numerous occasions when each vet has said testing, expensive procedures etc were unnecessary. Another great thing is when you have an ailing pet, they allow you to visit and try to feed them but are very candid when decision making time is at hand. I think nothing of traveling from Summerlin to them & will always take my critters here. Recently, my 7 month old kitten broke a vase and cut her pad badly & they saw us 3x in a week with little notice and were able to help Antigone heal. Cannot recommend them enough and will be forever grateful for their true love of all animals!*** Special note for cat lovers who want to use Soft Paws (the platic claw covers that come in cool colors & allow kitty to express their instinct to scratch whilst saving your furniture & skin: they apply these for you here, too. Last about a month & it is wayyyy easier than attempting to glue them on yourself IMO ****

I love Island Pet!I started going here when I was paying at fortune at my last vet and my dog wasn't getting any better. The old vet was treating my dog for a constant cough with various antibiotics and cough medicines. I switched to Island Pet after doing a search for holistic vets.I took my dog to see Dr. Goldman and after some testing he diagnosed her with heart failure and switched all her medications...and even though the overall prognosis wasn't great, he did help her and get her comfortable. And, I finally saw some results. He was excellent about explaining her condition, her medications, all the tests & the results,, etc etc. We ended up losing her about almost 2 years later, but I believe the only reason we had her as long as we did is because of Dr. Goldman's care and the staff at Island Pet. They even sent us a really pretty card signed by the staff when she passed!I currently have 2 dogs, one of which was Dr. Goldman put on a special diet and helped her to lose 20 pounds!The front desk staff is fabulous! The techs & boarding staff visibly care about the animals. I have seen all of the doctors at least once, and they are all awesome, but I am partial to Dr. Goldman!You always want to believe that people love your furry kids as much as you do, but at Island Pet you really feel that way!
