I will no longer bring my Amazon Parrot here. I had a aggravating experience. I made an appointment, I arrive and its busy. They ask if I can drop my parrot off and they’ll call me when he’s ready (annoying since I had an APPT). 2 hours pass no call. So I call them. They say he’s ready. I WONDER FOR HOW LONG HES BEEN READY. I go pick him up, it’s still busy. They take their sweet time. So many employees at the desk standing there doing nothing. I finally get my parrot and if doesn’t even look like they did the nail trim I asked and paid for. I couldn’t talk to the vet for clarification since when I take my parrot I NEVER am taken to a room so I can see the vet. I’m tired of the BS. I will take my parrot elsewhere. Read Less

One dark and gloomy evening, I peeked into the cage where my lady rats live and I found our fat little fluff ball of a rat sprawled in an unusual and uncomfortable position, like an old lady who'd fallen and can't get up. Concerned, I lifted her and she was completely limp in my hands. Upon further inspection she seemed to have lost her balance and motor skills, causing me to fear that she had been victim to a stroke or some other hard to rebound from problem. Fearing for the worst, my boyfriend and I stayed up until 3am cuddling and coaxing her to nibble some food or have a little water. We kept a close eye on her throughout the next day, and there were a lot of tears because we legitimately feared she was on death's door. It wasn't easy for us to find a veterinarian who would take in rodents, as their small size makes them harder to diagnose. Everything from drawing blood to surgery is exponentially complicated by the fact your patient is less than a pound (though Newt, bless her heart, comes pretty damn close)... When he found these guys, my boyfriend rushed Newt over as soon as he got off the phone. Upon check in, his stress levels were diminished by how NICE everyone was, and how genuinely they seemed to care about our little girl. A lot of people are dimissive of rats, if not outright hating them, but she was given thorough care and given lots of love in the two days she stayed in their care. When the vet who took on the case wasn't scheduled at the location the next day, she STILL made a trip over just to check in on Newt and left a voicemail letting us know how she was doing. We appreciate that a lot. When we checked in later that day, we were told that Newt had garnered a lot of attention as everyone wanted to see the sweet little squishball. Again, this made us feel very relieved and comfortable leaving her in their care. When we picked up our lady today, she was doing SO much better, back to her old self!! We were given a diagnosis, meds to give her, and many compliments on what a lovely little being we had on our hands. The staff didn't seem annoyed or bothered by our calls to check in on her, and they were very upfront with us about our options and the costs associated with them. So, while I generally don't like going to the vet (means a sick pet, lots of worry, expenses, etc.) I'm SO happy to know that if ever one of our bubs falls ill again there's a wonderful staff here to take care of them in their time of need. Half the battle was just finding someone who would care for rats, so knowing we can come to Lone Mountain Animal Hospital provides great peace of mind. Read Less

I liked the front staff, so I want to point out that my experience with them was good. With that said, I'm not satisfied with the medical treatment from the veterinarian. My German Shepherd is a very submissive dog to everyone, and I've never had a complaint about him, so I was told that his ear could not be flushed last week or this week because he was resisting treatment. When I confronted the charges of the ear cleaning from last week, the story was changed that his ear was in fact cleaned the first time. I did not notice his ears to be wet last time and I even asked if his ears were actually cleaned. Moreover, I've always been given a bigger bottle of keto ear flush from every other vet when this occurs, but I was prescribed a bottle that was too small, so I ran out before the week was even over and had to buy another smaller bottle on the second visit. To put it simply, I believe that I've been charged for treatment that was not actually applied and their story is not consistent with charges on my receipt. I recommend another vet to be honest. All they care about it money. Awful pricing and no heart. We couldn't afford that. And if we just drove off and left they would just leave the rabbit to suffer and die. to put the rabbit to sleep it costed 48 dollars. The rabbit would already die for free. And then they would give us the dead rabbit in a box. What would I do with a dead rabbit? So they also offered a rabbit cremation for the "low" price of 130 dollars. so we had to pay 178 dollars for our rabbit to die. This place is awful. I would never suggest for you to come here. This place and the people who work for it, make me absolutely sick to my stomach. My boyfriend and I brought in a kitten who was about 7 weeks old and was bleeding from her butt. The vet suggested that the kitten had herpes and wanted to check her for cancer, without even doing an exam. I've had a kitten with herpes in the past, and the kitten I brought in this day had absolutely no signs of having the herpes virus. Within 5 minutes the vet's assistant came back into the room with an estimate of over $200. When we told the vet that we could not afford the leukemia snap shot test, she assured us that everything seemed fine and that the kitten was going to be okay. So, we took her home, and days later we realized something was wrong with the kitten and the bleeding was getting worse. Yesterday, we made the tough decision of taking her to a shelter, so that she could get the medical attention she needed, since we couldn't afford it. We just found out that the kitten had a severe congenital disease, and needed to be euthanized. Our kitten needed medical attention, and since we didn't have the money for procedures that weren't even necessary, we were assured that she would be fine, and sent away. You would think that people would seek a job in the medical field to help. Instead, they do it for the money, and turn people away if they can't afford whatever needs to be done. Read Less

Yesterday my brother in law found a chihuahua that had been hit by a car. Her back legs were very weak and she was bleeding internally. I took her to Lone Mountain animal hospital in hopes they could help her. I told the lady at the desk what the situation was and she asked if we wanted to keep her. I said in all honesty if she is as injured as I believe I can't afford the cost to help her. With the other reviews of how costly this place is, I'm sure MANY people wouldn't have been able to afford her surely hefty bill. But I kept stressing I wanted to know what was going on. Can you keep me posted? Will you take my number? Can you call me and let me know what is going on? Can you take down my number? After asking several times another lady came and took my name and telephone number and said THEY WOULD KEEP ME INFORMED. Now mind you it was 6 o'clock when I dropped her off and they close at 7. So shortly after I reached home I phoned them and they had the audacity to tell me once you release a dog over they can't give out any info? Wait, what? So why in the hell did you tell me you would keep me informed? Why would you have not told me to my face that you cannot release info over the phone. I would have sat there and waited! I'm an avid animal lover and am EXTREMELY concerned about this dog I've nursed over the past 24 hours. How will I know now if she even lived? If there was something I could've done? No like previous reviews this place is all about the money and once I made it known I didn't have the means for a large vet bill, I was duped to my face just to get me out of there. I pray that baby is ok, finds a good home, and hopefully shits all over that place!Read Less

Super frustrated. Brought my glider in for a recheck and my vet was unavailable even though I made an appointment (this is pretty typical, they skip over appts for walk ins) so I saw a different one. During the exam he popped the gliders Joey out of the pouch thinking it was a mass. I told him it was a Joey and to put it back and he was certain that this is why my glider had pus and blood coming out with urine. I highly doubt it, but she has finished her round of antibiotics and this was just a recheck so I don't argue. I get home to put her back with her husband and low and behold the Joey is still hanging out of her pouch. Not only did he pop it out and increase the likelihood of rejection, he didn't even put it back. This Joey is nowhere near ready to be out, luckily I saw it and got it put back in to finish cooking. There is no excuse for this, if you aren't qualified and educated on gliders, don't touch it. I will wait for a vet that knows what they are doing. Needless to say, I won't be back. Third strike. I'm done.Read Less

Last Friday we took a little street bunny to Lone Mountain because he had a sore on his side and I was very worrried. We called the little bunny Bun Bun and he belonged to the street but I had been feeding him since the day I saw his little tiny body with big ears standing in the middle of the road. The receptionist was incredibly caring with me and the vet and her assistant were so gentle and loving of little Bun Bun that I felt they would tell me the best thing to do. Sadly we left little Bun Bun there because there was nothing that could be done for him and the vet would carefully put him to sleep. I was crying so much that my husband had to look after the paper work and when they presented us with the account they had waivered the sleeping fee. I feel that these people cared more for us and our little street bunny than any human medical doctor I have come across in this country. Thank-you for your compassion and caring.

I highly recommend your hospital to anyone who cares about their little friends.Read Less
