Been a customer/member for almost a decade with multiple visits for all of my dogs: boxers, Pomeranians, jindo, etc. I will now stop going to this CLINIC bc during my last visit, they were in such a rush to euthanize my dog. "The doctor is not feeling well today, so we need you to hurry up and make a decision." Doctor comes in with his assistant and turns the light off and pulls out a syringe. "I don't want to be here when you kill him," I told the doctor. I was put in a position where since I can't afford to pay for the procedures until my payday (3 days from now, on friday), I was the odd person not able to make his decision on rather taking him home against the doctor's advice or euthanizing my dog right than and there. I was stalling on making a decision on rather taking my dog's ashes, taking my dog as is (they gave me an option to take him home euthanized but not cremated, essentially roadkill), or taking my dog LITERALLY AS IS-without any medication or antibiotics. Third option would've been $240. $290 to take home roadkill. $360 to take home cremated ashes.
Since its all a business and just another day in the office for the staff, it probably doesn't matter, but I told the two receptionists that they should really be considerate and not rush people into killing their dogs. I had to state my thoughts and made sure that they are aware that none of my dogs will ever be a patient there anymore moving forward.
Total disappointment. Good luck to everyone else who decide to take their small family members here. It's all good when you come in, pay $200 for the doctor to weigh your dog and tell you to watch what he/she eats during a "normal visit." When you have problems or anything out of the ordinary, expect to pay a premium. I was quoted $4200 to remove 5 bladder stones. I understand that there are a lot of variables when it comes to quoting a procedure, but doctors out in Beverly hills don't charge over $2600 to remove bladder stones.
Which doctor did you see? Apparently this makes a HUGE difference at this location. A doctor can be understanding and prescribe medication for your pet in good faith he/she will get better. Or a doctor will tell you surgery is the ONLY option and medication WONT do anything. That's when they hit you with the "he/she can suffer less" if we HURRIED up. They really think of your visits as a headache and just want you to HURRY up. Not hurry up and leave, there's not much profit there. Hurry up and DO the procedure OR euthanize him.
It's amazing how they can't do anything if you don't have any money, but when it comes to euthanizing a dog, you can pay later. I had to put my dog down because I wouldn't have gotten paid until this Friday. IF you leave your dog until payday, they will charge for boarding. I asked. Read Less
