Had my first vet visit today. Got my first set of shots. Dr. Day was very nice and informative, finger needed a little salt though 😹, I didn't even feel the shot!!! He explained what each shot was for and the timing for them, even went over the optional shots and other services offered by the clinic. I will definitely be returning to this office.

I don’t feel comfortable boarding my dog there in the future. Their prices are affordable the front desk staff is great.... just that small hiccup.

I recently had to make that difficult decision to put my dog Jaxson of 14 yrs.to sleep due to a stroke. I had never been to Tropicana Animal Hospital but calling around they were the better priced facility. When my sister,nephew and myself walked in the receptionist asked the nature of my visit.I explained the situation she was so kind she gave me paper work to fill out and quickly put us into a quiet area so we could spend time with my dog and do paper work.When we finished they quickly put us in an exam room. The vet came in he knew what we were there for ,he explained the process in depth and asked if we wanted to spend more time..when it was time the process happened. He expressed condolences and we left. They made this difficult time a good experience. A few days later our family received a condolence card with hand written condolences expressed by the staff. First class veterinary hospital!!Thank you Tropicana Veterinary Hospital

I wish there was 10 stars I could give to Doctor Day! He is a new face at the clinic but has the knowledge and confidence of someone that has practiced 20 years. He took such great care of my roommates dog that was attacked by my dog. He was professional, caring and I could tell that his number one priority was my dog and not how much he was going to be able to bill me. Tropicana Animal Hospital made the right call by hiring this guy, it's rare to find someone with such a genuine heart in this day and age. Everyone request Dr.Day you won't regret it!

I have been going here for about 6 years now but over the past 2 years I have noticed they had decided on quantity over quality. Scheduled appts are useless, walk ins will have the same priority so be prepared to wait a long time. The office is dirty and literally falling apart. I would never consider boarding animals here. I would assume they would end up sick from what I see as a lacked cleanliness standard. It should be mentioned that the waiting room they put us in had cartoon male anatomy parts drawn/tagged on it in multiple places cabinets/seats etc..... come on now! Put it this way if this was a human doctor there is no way I would go here. What used to be an office full of people that I felt cared for your pet has been replaced with what appears to be low cost labor that hates their job. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they are usually the cheapest but not by much. That being said with important family members trusting them to care for my animals is more important than price.

One of our dogs got really sick a few months ago and we thought he would die. They took him in for a day and a half and brought him to a full recovery.
My cats just had kittens and they will come here too for their check ups and vaccines :)

Some of the doctors will do a sales pitch with you and try to provoke fear inside of you to get your animals unnecessary treatment they don't need. You have to really know your shit yourself so you know to take their advice with a grain of salt and only stick to what you know your animal needs. There was a black doctor that took care of us and you could tell that he was lying and not comfortable with it. I have done work in timeshare sales so I know all about trying to create fear and urgency and all that crap in people and he was trying to do it to me so it was quite amusing. It's really sad that it's almost impossible to get honest people with integrity to advise you on medical help for yourself and your animal in this country but that's capitalism for you.

I was so Blessed to find Dr. Ezell. He treated all my Babies with quality care and was very kind to me as well. It's never good to have to take sick pets to veterinaries but Dr. Ezell and his wonderful staff made our experience as gentle as possible They kept me informed every step of the way regarding my fur babies and for that, I am truly grateful. I highly recommend Tropicana Animal Hospital for all your veterinary needs as I will continue to take my fur babies to Dr. Ezell in the future when the needs arise.

Beware of Dr. Brown. I took my dog in for a minor scratching issue at his tail, and she mentioned his anal glands, I said, NO, it isn't that. She then said she would check for fleas and took him in the back. She came back with him and said she "expressed his anal glands". I said you did what? I absolutely did not want that done and would never want that done, as I was told by my previous Dr. to always decline that service, unless he were to develop problems with that-which he has not. I was so very upset that she would do something like that without my authorization. I asked her why would you do that when I specifically said that was not the problem. She said I told you I was going to check them. I said I told you that was not it, you heard me say that right? She would not answer me and kept going around my questioning and walked out of the room when I told her how dare her do that and then she denied hearing me say that. When Dr. Nave came in at my request, that went no where. He said she wouldn't lie, I said well she did and you were not in the room when it happened. I asked for them to document what happened and I am going to look into filing some type of negligence. This should NEVER have happened. I have been going to this place for years and have only had a problem with Dr. Brown-She is dishonest and that is enough for me to never be back!

So, i brought my cat to this animal hospital because well location and I figured I'd give them a chance. It was OK not the best and not the worst. The pricing was quite unfair consultation alone is at $48 so on it increases depending on the situation. I was asking for a possible payment plan since I was looking at about $700 up front and they do not allow payments. I remember going to other animals hospitals and they will negotiate and work with you as far as price goes because well they actually know you are struggling and you love your pet. The staff was also "OK" because they seemed to be bothered by me waiting and/or asking questions. OVERALL, don't recommend unless its a MUST situation.

My family has been coming to this vet for more than 20 years. So when my dog was limping and acting sickly I felt comfortable being my dog here. Not for long. I shared the recent visit history, Then Dr. refused to do an exam in my presence, stating a orthopedic exam required more equipment, people, lighting, etc. I was very uncomfortable and asked to stay, they said "by law" I was not allowed to be in the back. The Dr came back with an estimate for ex rays and the medication I asked for. I looked at estimate. (Dog had just been to vet where I live, so I knew what was going on and what was needed.)When I mentioned that it was a lot for 2 X-Rays, ($200. ) he crumpled up paper, I asked to look at estimate again, I had noticed they had the wrong dogs name on chart! Dr, wouldn't give it to me!? I asked; can I just get the medication, he said we have to do X-Rays in order to give medications!? "By law," again he says. Now I am noticeable agitated, and he said, I could go! No problem, couldn't get out if there fast enough! Apparently things have change I the few years I have been gone! Very disappointing behavior and attitudes of staff.

Worst kennel experience my dog has had the misfortune to endure. I needed a last minute place to board him for Thanksgiving, and found out why they "always have room".
Upon drop-off, instead of using his normal collar and a leash, a looped rope around his neck was used to take him back. Odd I thought, but we'll give it a chance.
On picking him up, he was agitated and unlike he usually is when I pick him up. I went to scratch his chest and was met with soaking wet fur. When they brought a towel out it was clear the liquid was urine, and his entire chest and abdomen was soaked in it as if he'd been laying in it. I took him outside as he was trying to get to the door, and it was obvious he had not yet been let out, even though it was already 10AM.
I don't know how this place can even be in business. I will NEVER board here again, and encourage you to do the same for the sake of your pets.

I had to bring my 19 yr old cat and my 14 yr old dog in (3 days in between) to be put down. Each time we came in everyone there was great. They felt what we felt. We had our cat and dog all their lives and the doctors could see that we took great care and that we loved our animals. I also want to thank them for sending us sympathy cards, it meant a lot to us, knowing there is a vet office that actually cares about animals and their owners.

I haven't had a bad experience with this company however I do have a complaint/suggestion.
Their basis is that they are not doing appointments and it's just walk ins - However, I "walk in" to get my dogs ears rolled and they only do it during certain times of the day. Or I walk in to get my dogs ears cropped and they only do it in the morning. It seems kind of like an appointment place, just a little bit annoying - Going in there thinking you can get something done when you never knew that it was a dedicated time during the day. In regards to their service though it's been great.

The second Vet. we worked with left the practice within a 2 month period. We have had tremendous difficulty getting anyone to return calls regarding treatment, etc.When a client calls and asks for direction and a call back from the doctor, it should not take three plus days to happen, especially if I say it is urgent.Looking for a more professional experience where I feel there is a true sense of care and urgency when it comes to me and my fur family. I just called them to ask for my pets records and tell them that I am changing Vets, there was no question asking why or even any concern for losing patience. they just said no problem we'll send the to you.Sorry, but " quality care" just doesn't come accross from this practice.

This is one of the best animal hospitals I've ever been to they always take good care of my two dogs and one cat. When my eldest dog had to be put down they were kind the day of and a couple of days later I received a card in the mail expressing the condolences. Sometimes it's might be a 15-20 minute wait but this place is worth it.

On July 10 2016 My beautiful boy Major was experiencing some serious health problems he was 7 years old..The most beautiful child Domestic longhair black beautiful golden eyes..He hadn't eaten day 3 and hardly any fluids ..I took him to Tropicana animal hospital and signed him I'm..I waited in a room for a doctor...And a beautiful angel walked thru that door named Dr. Ladesma.. She was so kind and loving and just loved Major she didn't rush us she spent so much time with Major like he was her own..to make a long story short after fluids and nausa meds..I had to bring major back in the next day because he didn't look like he was going to make it..Which my beautiful boy entered the Rainbow Bridge about 4:45pm July 11 2016..If it wasn't for Dr. Ledesma making my boy comfortable and feeling loved and safe it would have been so much more difficult.. Thank you Dr. Ledesma for being Majors Angel in the end..Your the best Doctor he ever had.. And your compassion is amazing.. God Bless you from Major and Myself..You were incredible... Ricki Ann W.

This vet group has been great to us for 9 years since we have had our dog. He has grown up here getting annual check-ups with shots, boarding a few times each year, and some growth removals. All of the vets (we never request because we love them all) are friendly and professional and we feel our dog is well-taken care of. We continue to make the drive there even though it hasn't been close to us for 6+ years because of how much love our pug gets when he shows up.

Dr. Brown is wonderful! She really cares about her patients and she is excellent at what she does. She is currently helping us through an emergency with our cat who developed a terrible abscess from a vaccine she got over at a vaccine and spay clinic. The one bright spot right now is that our cat is going to be ok. We know she is in good hands and that has really relieved some of our stress from this situation.

I read a bunch of other reviews about Tropicana Animal Hospital and it seems like they are mostly based more on the health of their pet, rather than the level of service provided by the clinic. In other words, my dog lived = 5 stars, my dog died = 1 star. I'll try and stick to the facts. Dr. Tunnard was able to diagnose a fairly uncommon (although more common to the breed) problem in my dog. He gave me an extensive explanation of what it would take to confirm his diagnosis and what the treatment would look like. This was refreshing after hitting a wall with our previous vet, who wanted to do surgery to make the diagnosis. Add to that that the services were provided at cost much less than I expected. We will be back here in the future.

We have been using T.A.H. for over 10 years. I don't know what we would have done without this place. Dr Evans has gone above and beyond to look after our three dogs. He even has made house calls when our large dog could Batley walk. He has also waived the charges on many of our visits. I would reccomend this place to everyone.

I recently had to make that difficult decision to put my dog Jaxson of 14 yrs.to sleep due to a stroke. I had never been to Tropicana Animal Hospital but calling around they were the better priced facility. When my sister,nephew and myself walked in the receptionist asked the nature of my visit.I explained the situation she was so kind she gave me paper work to fill out and quickly put us into a quiet area so we could spend time with my dog and do paper work.When we finished they quickly put us in an exam room. The vet came in he knew what we were there for ,he explained the process in depth and asked if we wanted to spend more time..when it was time the process happened. He expressed condolences and we left. They made this difficult time a good experience. A few days later our family received a condolence card with hand written condolences expressed by the staff. First class veterinary hospital!!Thank you Tropicana Veterinary Hospital

I wish there was 10 stars I could give to Doctor Day! He is a new face at the clinic but has the knowledge and confidence of someone that has practiced 20 years. He took such great care of my roommates dog that was attacked by my dog. He was professional, caring and I could tell that his number one priority was my dog and not how much he was going to be able to bill me. Tropicana Animal Hospital made the right call by hiring this guy, it's rare to find someone with such a genuine heart in this day and age. Everyone request Dr.Day you won't regret it!

I have been going here for about 6 years now but over the past 2 years I have noticed they had decided on quantity over quality. Scheduled appts are useless, walk ins will have the same priority so be prepared to wait a long time. The office is dirty and literally falling apart. I would never consider boarding animals here. I would assume they would end up sick from what I see as a lacked cleanliness standard. It should be mentioned that the waiting room they put us in had cartoon male anatomy parts drawn/tagged on it in multiple places cabinets/seats etc..... come on now! Put it this way if this was a human doctor there is no way I would go here. What used to be an office full of people that I felt cared for your pet has been replaced with what appears to be low cost labor that hates their job. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because they are usually the cheapest but not by much. That being said with important family members trusting them to care for my animals is more important than price.

One of our dogs got really sick a few months ago and we thought he would die. They took him in for a day and a half and brought him to a full recovery.

You have to really know your shit yourself so you know to take their advice with a grain of salt and only stick to what you know your animal needs. There was a black doctor that took care of us and you could tell that he was lying and not comfortable with it. I have done work in timeshare sales so I know all about trying to create fear and urgency and all that crap in people and he was trying to do it to me so it was quite amusing. It's really sad that it's almost impossible to get honest people with integrity to advise you on medical help for yourself and your animal in this country but that's capitalism for you.

Beware of Dr. Brown. I took my dog in for a minor scratching issue at his tail, and she mentioned his anal glands, I said, NO, it isn't that. She then said she would check for fleas and took him in the back. She came back with him and said she "expressed his anal glands". I said you did what? I absolutely did not want that done and would never want that done, as I was told by my previous Dr. to always decline that service, unless he were to develop problems with that-which he has not. I was so very upset that she would do something like that without my authorization. I asked her why would you do that when I specifically said that was not the problem. She said I told you I was going to check them. I said I told you that was not it, you heard me say that right? She would not answer me and kept going around my questioning and walked out of the room when I told her how dare her do that and then she denied hearing me say that. When Dr. Nave came in at my request, that went no where. He said she wouldn't lie, I said well she did and you were not in the room when it happened. I asked for them to document what happened and I am going to look into filing some type of negligence. This should NEVER have happened. I have been going to this place for years and have only had a problem with Dr. Brown-She is dishonest and that is enough for me to never be back!

The pricing was quite unfair consultation alone is at $48 so on it increases depending on the situation. I was asking for a possible payment plan since I was looking at about $700 up front and they do not allow payments. I remember going to other animals hospitals and they will negotiate and work with you as far as price goes because well they actually know you are struggling and you love your pet. The staff was also "OK" because they seemed to be bothered by me waiting and/or asking questions. OVERALL, don't recommend unless its a MUST situation.

My family has been coming to this vet for more than 20 years. So when my dog was limping and acting sickly I felt comfortable being my dog here. Not for long. I shared the recent visit history, Then Dr. refused to do an exam in my presence, stating a orthopedic exam required more equipment, people, lighting, etc. I was very uncomfortable and asked to stay, they said "by law" I was not allowed to be in the back. The Dr came back with an estimate for ex rays and the medication I asked for. I looked at estimate. (Dog had just been to vet where I live, so I knew what was going on and what was needed.)When I mentioned that it was a lot for 2 X-Rays, ($200. ) he crumpled up paper, I asked to look at estimate again, I had noticed they had the wrong dogs name on chart! Dr, wouldn't give it to me!? I asked; can I just get the medication, he said we have to do X-Rays in order to give medications!? "By law," again he says. Now I am noticeable agitated, and he said, I could go! No problem, couldn't get out if there fast enough! Apparently things have change I the few years I have been gone! Very disappointing behavior and attitudes of staff.

Worst kennel experience my dog has had the misfortune to endure. I needed a last minute place to board him for Thanksgiving, and found out why they "always have room".
Upon drop-off, instead of using his normal collar and a leash, a looped rope around his neck was used to take him back. Odd I thought, but we'll give it a chance.
On picking him up, he was agitated and unlike he usually is when I pick him up. I went to scratch his chest and was met with soaking wet fur. When they brought a towel out it was clear the liquid was urine, and his entire chest and abdomen was soaked in it as if he'd been laying in it. I took him outside as he was trying to get to the door, and it was obvious he had not yet been let out, even though it was already 10AM.
I don't know how this place can even be in business. I will NEVER board here again, and encourage you to do the same for the sake of your pets.

And if you are one of those who's schedule is always hectic and in a hurry, and the front desk ask if you want to see a specific Doctor or first available , you can always feel at ease that you are still getting the "best" available!!! They have so much compassion for the animals and their humans and understand how difficult it is to have to have your fur baby in the hospital. So far they have been wonderful with all of my dogs.

I had to bring my 19 yr old cat and my 14 yr old dog in (3 days in between) to be put down. Each time we came in everyone there was great. They felt what we felt. We had our cat and dog all their lives and the doctors could see that we took great care and that we loved our animals. I also want to thank them for sending us sympathy cards, it meant a lot to us, knowing there is a vet office that actually cares about animals and their owners.

Their basis is that they are not doing appointments and it's just walk ins - However, I "walk in" to get my dogs ears rolled and they only do it during certain times of the day. Or I walk in to get my dogs ears cropped and they only do it in the morning. It seems kind of like an appointment place, just a little bit annoying - Going in there thinking you can get something done when you never knew that it was a dedicated time during the day. In regards to their service though it's been great.

Brought both of my Chihuahuas here prompted by a referral from a friend.My older one has been having serious health problems. The first Vet. we worked with left the practice days later. The second Vet. we worked with left the practice within a 2 month period. We have had tremendous difficulty getting anyone to return calls regarding treatment, etc.When a client calls and asks for direction and a call back from the doctor, it should not take three plus days to happen, especially if I say it is urgent.Looking for a more professional experience where I feel there is a true sense of care and urgency when it comes to me and my fur family. I just called them to ask for my pets records and tell them that I am changing Vets, there was no question asking why or even any concern for losing patience. they just said no problem we'll send the to you.Sorry, but " quality care" just doesn't come accross from this practice.

This is one of the best animal hospitals I've ever been to they always take good care of my two dogs and one cat. When my eldest dog had to be put down they were kind the day of and a couple of days later I received a card in the mail expressing the condolences. Sometimes it's might be a 15-20 minute wait but this place is worth it.

When I first moved to the area I went in there w/o notice and just asked if I could just see the kennel !! They didn't hesitate and I was really pleased !! The kennel was as spotlessly clean as the exam rooms. My babies, TouchDown and Pebbles are really loved and cared for here!! Thank you tropicana. You always have m praise!!

On July 10 2016 My beautiful boy Major was experiencing some serious health problems he was 7 years old..The most beautiful child Domestic longhair black beautiful golden eyes..He hadn't eaten day 3 and hardly any fluids ..I took him to Tropicana animal hospital and signed him I'm..I waited in a room for a doctor...And a beautiful angel walked thru that door named Dr. Ladesma.. She was so kind and loving and just loved Major she didn't rush us she spent so much time with Major like he was her own..to make a long story short after fluids and nausa meds..I had to bring major back in the next day because he didn't look like he was going to make it..Which my beautiful boy entered the Rainbow Bridge about 4:45pm July 11 2016..If it wasn't for Dr. Ledesma making my boy comfortable and feeling loved and safe it would have been so much more difficult.. This vet group has been great to us for 9 years since we have had our dog. He has grown up here getting annual check-ups with shots, boarding a few times each year, and some growth removals. All of the vets (we never request because we love them all) are friendly and professional and we feel our dog is well-taken care of. We continue to make the drive there even though it hasn't been close to us for 6+ years because of how much love our pug gets when he shows up.

Dr. Brown is wonderful! She really cares about her patients and she is excellent at what she does. She is currently helping us through an emergency with our cat who developed a terrible abscess from a vaccine she got over at a vaccine and spay clinic. The one bright spot right now is that our cat is going to be ok. We know she is in good hands and that has really relieved some of our stress from this situation.

I read a bunch of other reviews about Tropicana Animal Hospital and it seems like they are mostly based more on the health of their pet, rather than the level of service provided by the clinic. In other words, my dog lived = 5 stars, my dog died = 1 star. I'll try and stick to the facts. Dr. Tunnard was able to diagnose a fairly uncommon (although more common to the breed) problem in my dog. He gave me an extensive explanation of what it would take to confirm his diagnosis and what the treatment would look like. This was refreshing after hitting a wall with our previous vet, who wanted to do surgery to make the diagnosis. Add to that that the services were provided at cost much less than I expected. We will be back here in the future.

We have been using T.A.H. for over 10 years. I don't know what we would have done without this place. Dr Evans has gone above and beyond to look after our three dogs. He even has made house calls when our large dog could Batley walk. He has also waived the charges on many of our visits. I would reccomend this place to everyone.
