I brought my kitten here for a courtesy examination, and was confident in the vet's skills to properly care for my cat. The wait was very short, and the entire staff was very friendly. The only reason for a 4 star review is that, upon inquiring about prices of certain procedures, the costs were much higher than other facilities I've inquired about. I will take my cats here for exams and shots, but any major procedures or spay/neuter I might take elsewhere because of the high cost. Read Less

Prices are astronomical for nothing special. I went in for a simple heartworm test. A test that ranges between $25 to $50. They take my dog back for his blood to be drawn. After, when I go to pay I am told that the blood work costs $112, not including any kind of exam fee. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE OTHER POOR REVIEWS COMPLAINING OF COST. When I say I was expecting near $50, the vet comes out and starts telling me how uncommon heartworm is in Vegas so it makes the testing much more expensive. She then says that the price shouldn't matter because I wont have to be paying for heartworm preventative in vegas because it is not necessary (not true! It is recommended to use a preventative, even in vegas. This statement seemed to be given in order to have me hand over the money, and it did not have my dog's health and safety in mind) I have never been the type of person to refuse payment, I've never even sent a meal back at a restraunt. So I very reluctantly pay. I get in the car and feel completely ripped off. I Google vets near me and call the first two that come up within a mile away. They both quote me $35 and $39 to do the exact same test. I am even offered a free exam for being a first time patient. I go back in and tell the them that this price is just not right and I would not like to have the bloodwork sent out. At least they offer me my money back. It is always wise to ask prices first, but this was my second time coming and did not feel jipped the first time. For a common preventative, yearly test they should not be taking advantage of their patients like this. I am a broke yet spare no expense pet owner who even opted to pay for pet insurance. I don't mind paying a little more for better treatment, but this is not the case. Speculation: I look much younger than I am and perhaps this was a situation where they were trying to take advantage of a seemingly inexperienced pet owner. My dog is 1 year old so it is reason to believe I have not had experience with vets before. But I have had many pets and several great experiences with vets. Even if this is not the case, I don't see why anyone who knows the cost of common preventative care and advisement would go here. When I handed them the payment I felt robbed. Read Less

Took my rat in for tumor removal. I knew it would be expensive but this cost triple what it would have at my regular vet. They used dissolving stitches the first time around for an external incision. Well anyone with half a brain knows how that ended up. She had them out in less then a day. Asked for a cone when I went to pick her up from surgery and they refused to sell one. Then they wanted to charge me 200 for having to put in staples ( because they put her under instead of just using lidocaine. ) If your an exotic owner I highly recommend going to Sky point. Terrible experience. Dr. Chinn doesn't listen, she tells you her philosophies (Acupuncture) and if you don't agree she is extremely condescending. Our dog was experiencing severe separation anxiety the only help she would give is expensive unnecessary blood tests, having behavior specialists come to your home, and other very costly treatments. We did inquire prior to our visit if they would prescribe anti anxiety medication. Her office staff said that she would, but when we went through with the appointment she would only prescribe if we did other very costly treatments. She even recommended we go to her friend at Petsmart. We have had dogs for thirty years, I feel that she based her opinions on personal beliefs, not what was best for our dog. A vet should be a partner in caring for your dog. Medicating our pet was not our first choice, however after considerable research we decided this was the route we felt suited our situation. A vet sees your dog for 30 minutes max. I feel that they should respect the fact that this is a member of your family and listen ,as well as, work with you to find a solution. This is my opinion on this experience. We will continue looking for a better match for our pet.Read Less
