Vca Desert Inn Animal Hospital

Las Vegas, Nevada
General Info
Vca Desert Inn Animal Hospital in Las Vegas provides structured yet adaptable animal care programs throughout Nevada which adjust based on each animal's capacity to regain balance after movement handling and environmental exposure. Every session starts with boundary observation where I examine how pets explore the area, identify zones they steer clear of, and assess the speed at which they adjust their movement. Upon initiating interaction the clinic team examines body-system cues starting with fur density and external touch tolerance before progressing to oral health joint range and abdominal flexibility. Owner observations are factored in with equal weight: recent stalling before stairs changes in how the animal sleeps or guards objects or shifts in interaction timing with household members. Vca Desert Inn Animal Hospital delivers medical mapping which encompasses orthopedic planning alongside cardiovascular listening and hydration tracking as well as dermatological checks plus immune calibration and energy-rest cycles. Medical procedures are structured to uphold recovery periods by dividing even short diagnostic steps to avoid cumulative stress. The noise levels scent layering and personnel proximity get adjusted according to how the animal reacts to each threshold. Post-care recommendations depend on behavioral markers including the time pets take to reach their normal state, their chosen household refuges, and the resumption or delay of social interactions. Support continues through visual touchpoint logs and optional sensory behavior debriefs. Vca Desert Inn Animal Hospital delivers veterinary care across Las Vegas and its surrounding Nevada areas by treating each visit as a movement-based journey—observing pet signals throughout every room posture and pause.

Best place in Nevada. I do not have a google account so I am using my daughters. I am Susan and I took my new babies here for their surgeries, just received a phone call that one of the procedures should not be done, saved money and energy. They also let me take those little angels in last night for today's surgeries which saved me from a lot of anxiety this morning. I love each person that I have interacted with here at Desert Inn Animal Hospital. They make sure what needs to be done is done and what is a waste of money is not done. Love them all. Read Less

They are definitely a little more expensive than some other vets but well worth it. The staff is always friendly and the doctors are amazing. I have an English Bulldog and this place knows Bulldogs like no other. When I got my first bulldog, my breeder told me to use this vet because they really liked them. I've been very happy with them for years. My dog was actually born there. I've had trans cervical insemination (TCI), c section, vaccines and all care for my dogs and pups here. Their state of the art fertility knowledge and prenatal care is outstanding. Yes there are cheaper places but I want the best care and not the cheapest. My fur babies are priceless. 10 healthy bulldog puppied thanks to the amazing staff and wonderful doctors. Read Less

I had to bring in my lab mix Carmine on Friday April 6th, 2018. Coming in the door they made sure that I was rushed right into the back and that my dog was seen immediately. Unfortunately my baby had cancer and there was nothing that could be done, however the staff and Doctor were amazing, they were empathetic, totally understanding, and helped me make the most humane choice. Although it hurt to have to put my dog to sleep, it was done with all the love and compassion that one would hope for and it really allowed me to have some closure, as well as the ability to ensure that her burial plans were taken care of all at the same time. I have 4 other dogs, and I will be returning for services in the future , thank you for making me feel comfortable and making me feel that my dog was the most important situation that you had going on, and for the respect and assistance in making my decision. We took our last pet here on what turned out to be her last day. The doctor was very cold and clinical the whole time and showed no compassion or sympathy for what we were going through. If you've never euthanized a dog, they don't always close their eyes after being given the anesthesia, and this was the case with our pet. We freaked out when the doctor inserted the needle with the medicine that would kill our dog because we thought she could still feel pain. The rudely yelled an explanation at us that the dog won't close her eyes. No sympathy, no compassion, nothing. He might have been right, but that's a terrible way to treat people saying goodbye to their pet. We also ordered a memento of our pet including a clay paw print to remember her by. When we went to pick it up, we got most of the memento, but not the clay paw print. They called the next day to say it was a mistake on the part of the crematorium, and they would like to refund our money, but didn't charge us for it so there was nothing they could do. They're well equipped and have long hours, but the lack of sympathy and caring makes me never want to visit this vet again. Read Less

For one, they have a large staff of very helpful knowledgeable people, also because they have so many people I can get an appointment same day or next day anytime I call. ******A REVIEW AND A NOTICE******Last month I had brought my 6yr old PitBull in for a microchip and a concerning bump on his chest. They had quoted me 2 very reasonable prices, the low end included just taking a biopsy of the bump and sending it to the lab & the higher end included putting him under anesthesia and removing the mass completely + sending to the lab. I was not financially ready for either options at the time and they didn't pressure me into doing one over the other. I am in the process of getting finances ready to make an appointment for the first option, as I really don't want to put my dog completely under anesthesia, unless it is absolutely necessary, that's just my personal choice. This week, I had brought my cat in for a check up and Dr. Coy informed me that my 10 month old cat has heart murmurs. She also took him to the back to get a 2nd opinion by another vet who has 40+ years experience in the field, and he confirmed the heart murmurs. Again, I was quoted for 2 options, a low-end & high-end, with a breakdown of everything they would need to perform on my cat, she even informed me on what I could or could NOT skip out on. I decided to skip the x-rays and immediately approved them to take a blood/urine sample to see if his liver/kidneys would be able to withstand the medications he would need to be taking for his heart murmurs. I will be bringing him back in order to do further testing with an "echo" ultrasound in a few weeks as they would need a specialist to come in and perform the procedure on my cat to see exactly what is going on in his heart and proceed from there. The following is majorly for 'Belinda M.' & anyone else who has a critically injured animal: I regret to inform you, but they were doing you a favor in giving you the emergency animal hospital's information. If your dog needed a blood transfusion, the VE+CC is the only 24 hour emergency animal hospital who is equipped to perform such procedures. I speak from experience when my cat was shot & nearly killed in critical condition. I called multiple vets (including my primary) and they all referred me to VE+CC. Please consider the fact that your dog was in critical condition when you brought him in. If they had began examining him and found out that he needed medical attention that they were not equipped for, your beloved pet just lost all of that very precious time in which could have been utilized in getting your animal to the proper care in the first place. If they truly weren't looking out for you and your animal's best interests, they wouldn't still be in business with loyal clients & patients. Read Less

Business HoursMonday through Saturday: 6 a.m.--10 p.m.Sunday: 7 a.m.--10 p.m.I walked in the door tonight at 8:10pm with my 13 year old miniature pinscher bleeding out his mouth and nose.  I was quickly greeted by a woman at the front desk who told me "Sorry we are not taking any more clients tonight".  I stated the obvious "My dog is bleeding from somewhere" to which she replied "You will have to take him to the emergency clinic" she then proceeded to grab a sticky note and quickly jot down the address. She had no concern at all for my baby, her only concern was getting me out the front door so she would not have to deal with me and my "drama".   Obviously this place has no concern for your fur children.  I will never, ever step foot in the door again and will tell everyone I can the way we were treated.  One star is to much but I did not have an option for negative stars!!I work in the healthcare field and I would never treat ANYONE the way me and my pet were treated tonight.  How dare you state on your website "Desert Inn Animal Hospital is both a state-of-the-art and a "state-of-the-heart" veterinary practice"Not one person in the building had any concern for the medical emergency and distress my fur baby was experiencing.  You are horrible, horrible people!! As far as boarding, I'm lucky to have had the correct dog returned to me upon pickup. They are disorganized, sloppy, careless, and dirty. The employees apparently aren't screened well, as they stole my dog's towels/blankets. They have no explanation whatsoever. I also brought enough food for two weeks, and I was only gone 5 days. They could not find her remaining food or treats. No explanation, just shrugging. Seriously?? I paid for this. They also said they gave her a bath on the last day, but she smells and is scratching constantly, so I do not believe she was bathed, and probably now has fleas. I have never had a bad experience here.  Been coming here for about 2 years.  I have taken at least 6 different dogs here for vaccines and other things... I have also taken a guinea pig here.  The first time I came here was a day after I found my first puppy on fremont street about 2 years ago.  He ended up having parvovirus and had to stay here for about a week.  The vet sent me updates and always answered my questions quickly about how he was doing.  They saved his life!  I believe they kept the price down as low as they could for me as well.  They quickly helped me set up a care credit card as well bc I am a college student and couldnt afford the cost for his care.  I bring my dogs here for their low cost vaccinne clinic and for any other issues.  Its only $50 if I need to bring one of my pets in for any health concern which I think is a good price especially for the quality of care they receive.  I recently took a couple of my dogs in for a dental exam and they were very thorough with their check so I feel comfortable that the price quote is accurate.  I took my dogs to other places and they barely even looked at their teeth before giving me a price quote I knew was waaaay too low as one of my rescues needs A LOT of teeth removed.  I also had a great experience taking one of my rescue guinea pigs here.  My guinea pig was experiencing seizures for reasons unknown and ultimately had to be put down.  It was hard but the vet was so compassionate and made the experience a little easier for me.  Anyways... I love animals and my fur family is likely to grow because I keep stumbling upon homeless animals haha so its nice having a vet that I am used to going to and trust with all my babies. Read Less

Honest, informative, and caring. That describes why we've decided to make Desert Inn Animal Hospital our go-to vet in Las Vegas. After trying two other vet clinics closer to us, the second one when our shepherd puppy had lost so much weight that her ribs and hip bones were showing (that vet told us 'puppies gain and lose weight because they are growing so fast,' when in fact our dog was slowly starving to death because of a pancreatic problem), we went to see Dr. Willy at Desert Inn Animal Hospital. It was well worth the extra 10 minutes drive. She took one look at our puppy and ordered blood tests that ended up with a diagnosis of EPI, which as it turns out is highly treatable by adding the missing pancreatic enzyme to her food. Two months later our pup has put on 15 pounds and is back to being her beautiful happy and healthy self. In addition to being knowledgeable, Dr. Willy is also very caring, and the clinic very clean and well organized. She/they also told us all our costs upfront, and gave good recommendations as to what we should do first, etc. FIVE STARS! Read Less

The assistant enetered the room with a sheet of paper with unnecessary tests and treatments all adding up to about $500.00 and she added if surgery was necessary it would be an additional $1,500 she wanted to do a parvo test which I was certain my dog didnt have. When we began to explain we didnt have 500 at hand to just give up she began talking about how we would have to euthanize our baby. DONT TAKE YOUR LOVED PET HERE!! OR GET A SECOND OPINION!! If it were up to me I would give a negative rating. People are nice and it would be a place I would recommend if it wasn't for this.. I took my dog because she was limping, I was told she might have a tear in her acl. That it might heal itself, if not she would need $4000 surgery. Days went on and my normally active dog was sad, she wouldn't get up her bed (we assumed she was in pain) we decided to take her back. They told me that the acl must be torn now. They asked me if the thought the medicine work. I TOLD THEM I DONT KNOW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. COME TO FIND OUT THEY NEGLECTED TO SEND ME HOME TO ANTI INFLAMMATORY/ PAIN MEDS! THEY WROTE IT ON MY DOGS CHART BUT NEVER GAVE IT TO ME. There was a possibility that would of worked for my dog and she wouldn't of been in pain.. back to my second appointment, I agreed to having X-rays taken to see the extent of her injury. After 'reading' the X-rays, they told me she needed surgery. I agreed to that  and made an appointment. I decided to get a second opinion and asked for a copy of the X-rays (the neglected to tell me about the $12 charge of a copy of X-rays I already paid for) and went to another vet. He thought it was strange that my 2 year old pitbull would suffer of that at such a young age.. after her check up and having knowledge in reading her X-rays he told me her acl just had a tear. He gave me some vitamins to help the ligament heal faster and just days later she was running and happy once again! Of course we tired to have her rest and now 2 months later she's 100% back to normal! Days before her scheduled surgery I called to cancel. The day before her surgery I was called to confirm the surgery. I told them that I already called to cancel it, they went ahead and asked why I canceled. I informed them that I took my dog for a second opinion and they said a surgery wasn't needed that she was up and running once again. He proceeded to tell me 'oh that's great getting to spend so much money'. I responded by telling him no it's great and my dog doesn't need an unnecessary surgery. To which he just responded 'oh.' About a month later I get a bill of $12 for a copy of her x-rays. I called and asked them why do I get charge for a copy of x-rays that I already paid $400 for. They said that a copy doesn't come included, I asked to speak to the manager which my call was transferred to but she wasn't there so I proceeded to leave my message. I never got a call back in a couple days went by and I forgot. What I assume is a couple weeks later, I get another bill for $17.22 I call back once again requesting to speak to the manager or a billing manager. Once again she wasn't there, I went ahead and spoke to the receptionist telling her my problem. I apologized for being rude but I was frustrated at my situation. She asked me if I wanted an emailed copy of the x-rays and I told her no that I already got a copy that would've been great when I first asked for the copy but I was never offered that and I was never told that for a physical copy I was going to get charged. This lovely lady went ahead and waived my charge. I will not bring my dogs back to this vet and I will not be recommending this vet to any of my family and friends. Please be aware of this and make sure your pet isn't getting an unnecessary procedure. Read Less

I am truly impressed with the people and care here, particularly, Rich the Vet Tech and Dr. Katie McCullough.  I had a dog in my care, that needed vet attention.   I wasn't too familiar with the dog, but knew she was a little stressed out, aka snappy,  that I was taking her to the vet. An assistant help me get her out of the car both of us unharmed. I wish I knew her name, but thank you! Rich was helpful in teaching me how to get her cone on without getting snapped at.  Dr. McCullough offered a practical yet conservative course of treatment, particularly since we couldn't get in touch with the pet parent.  The pups is doing great, probably because she is feeling better! We love Desert Inn Animal Hospital. Dr. Lingwall cropped our Doberman's ears in June and not only do they look beautiful, he has seen us one to two times per week since then to tape them and follow up with us. There's a vet tech named Terry that is wonderful as well-she is very knowledgable and can answer most of your questions before you even see the doctor. Also, as soon as we walk in the door, we are checked in for our appointments because the front desk staff has taken the time to learn and remember our names. We have seen Dr. Arn a few times as well, and he's exceptional. This has definitely been a great experience for us, and we are grateful for the staff at DIAH for making this whole process so easy! I have lived in Las Vegas for my entire life, and always have owned pets. Never have I once encountered an animal hospital quite like Desert Inn Animal Hospital! Our cat, Cowboy, was in an accident, and had a spiral fracture in his back left leg. We saw multiple vets, until we were referred to Doctor Vitale at Desert Inn Animal Hospital. The vets we were seeing were quoting us astronomical amounts of money to do minor work, recommended amputating his leg, and one just flat out said to put him down, OVER A FRACTURED BONE!We were referred to Doctor Vitale who immediately offered to helped. Took a look at Cowboy's X-Rays, and said to bring him in ASAP, and would give him the surgery needed to save his leg, and most importantly, relieve him of his pain! He was so caring to our boy, explained everything to us thoroughly, and they didn't charge us an arm and a leg. Doctor Vitale also texted us later that evening with updates on Cowboy, sent us pictures, and copies of his newest X-Rays. Genuinely cared for our Cowboy. The whole staff at Desert Inn Animal Hospital is caring, genuine, and shows their patients and families such amazing amounts of respect. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for our family! I highly recommend them to anyone in an emergency situation to basic animal care. I found a stray puppy on the road about a month ago, and my best friend suggested I take the dog to Desert Inn Animal Hospital since it was close to her house and she would be able to talk to the doctor with me, so we took the dog in the very next day. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, made sure we knew exactly what the dog needed and how we could take care of it. We got the dog her first set of vaccinations and a microchip on her first visit, and when I received the bill, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they didn't charge me for talking to the doctor since I was a new client, saving me a significant amount of money. Additionally, when I mentioned I wanted to get the dog spayed, and DIAH told me their price for that service, which is significantly higher than my budget allows, they made sure I had everything I needed and knew exactly where to go to get it done for a much lower price. Aside from that, I will happily continue to take my dog to Desert Inn Animal Hospital for all her future health needs. Read Less

Was looking for a place to get my dog's teeth cleaned and Desert Inn Animal Hospital is really close to my house so I called them at (702) 763-7855 and asked for pricing.  They told me I'd have to come in for a free dental consultation.  So I set up an appointment for Saturday 1-2-16 at 10:10 AM.  Upon walking in I was so impressed with their big, clean, fresh-smelling lobby.  Their front desk staff was so friendly and helpful and I was feeling good.  I was taken back to the exam room and Dr. Franco came in and began the exam.  She looked at his teeth a bit and he yapped (probably a sore tooth) and she said he tried to bite her and so she took him in the back to finish the exam.  This made me sort of anxious...like what was she doing to him back there that she couldn't do in front of me? Was she holding him down?  It just made me feel really uneasy.  When she came back in this is the quote she gave me: $46.13 .....Canine dental scale and polish $74.76 .....Pre-op blood profile $39.17 .....IV Catheter Fluids for surgery$17.64 .....Pre-anesthetic medications $16.09 .....Hydromorphone Injection$92.00.....Dental Radiographs $68.20.....Dental Anesthesia Isoflurane $3.50.......Flouride Treatment $9.35.......Biohazardous waste disposal $24.56 ....Clavamox 62.5 MG$15.86 .....Rimadyl 25MG Caplets $40.00 .....Dental Extraction $81.97 .....Dental Extraction $88.65 .....Early Adult DTCTN$5.20 .......Biohazardous Waste Disposal $20.00......DA2PP shot (he is due for this) $11.00......Bordetella (this too) $238.71....Chest x-rays So for a whopping $892.79 I could get my dog's teeth cleaned here. I do appreciate them trying to be thorough because my dog is 11 years old and has a heart murmur.  I have had his teeth cleaned 5 times now and no other place has ever quoted me that much.   I cannot afford to drop nearly a grand every year to clean his teeth.  So thanks, but no thanks.  I'll go elsewhere.  Now I see why they don't give out their prices over the phone...I'm guessing it would scare people away. Las Vegas Nevada 89121

Read Less

When I first moved here I asked a neighbor if she could recommend a vet, and she sent me here. This is the best vets office I have ever been too in any place I've lived. For one, they have a large staff of very helpful knowledgeable people, also because they have so many people I can get an appointment same day or next day anytime I call. They also saved my dad's dogs life. The wait time when you're in the lobby is normal for the many vets I've been too in my dogs 14 years. Read Less

Thank you all for getting Desi the treatment he needs. He is on the road to recovery.

Again, thank you all for your help! Read Less

I would highly recommend either of the doctors if you are interested in ear cropping. Read Less

I've never had an experience quite like this before. Desert Inn Animal Hospital puts the animal and families first. Read Less

The ONLY reason that they got 2 stars is the Doctor was very nice gentle and personable. EVERYTHING ELSE get no stars. Slow check in even slower check out and then they LIED and over charged me- I was told one price on the phone and charged double. I love my dog but I am on a budget. I was too lazy to drive across town and see what happens! They care more about the money and sticking it to people. The front desk area is more then disorganized they even lost one ladies refund check and she has to now go back there again tomorrow. Would I recommend them? NOPE not unless you can afford to throw money away unnecessarily. I love my dog and dont mind paying for her but to get ripped off because of it left a very bad taste in my mouth.
