This vet office was extremely helpful and friendly. They got my cat in right away and took care of him. They were good at giving you a quote up front so you knew how much you would be paying for. Dr. Sean Peck really went above and beyond with his care. He updated me on the situation and he was very clear with what's going on. I work for an animal welfare non-profit in Los Angeles. We have had a number of clients in the Washoe area who could not afford all or some of their vet bill, and we have sent them to WVVH (We help cover the rest of the bill). All of them have received excellent service and care for their pets. We have had no problems dealing with the office in making payments and receiving billing from them, and they always answer the phone, are polite and professional. I've been to many vet hospitals.  My best friend  and I  have been through many adventures.  I brought my friend to Washoe Veterinary, to end his suffering from a  tumor in his eye. 4 years we suffered. When we recently got a puppy and she got sick, the doctor went so far as to call us after hours on her personal line to check in. We were very fortunate to find this genuine country vet hospital, recommended by fellow German Shepherd dog-owner; our previous vet retired, and we tried a vet clinic once that was nearby our home (which was just what you'd expect: impersonal and too expensive).   We're quite happy with the care and love shown to our dog by Washoe Valley Veterinary Hospitial; Dr. Fisher and Dr. Peck really have a passion for animals.  The office is located on Eastlake Blvd in Washoe Valley, just off the road, and just what you'd expect in a small-town country doctor's office.  It is about a 30 minute drive for us, but we wouldn't change it for anything. I have gone through a lot of vets in Reno/sparks, and it was a shame that it took me a while to find this one. My little one has a lot of different medical issues and it wasn't until we explored all options here that she finally started to get better.I believe they only have two vets but it honestly makes it all the better. I would take my dog-son nowhere else. The staff is always cheerful on the phone, then compassionate  and helpful when yoy arrive. Dr. Fisher is smart as a whip and takes the time to carefully focus on your pet and then fully explain what she finds and what your options are. It is clear she doesn't pad her bill with unnecessary tests, or rush off to her next appointment (and I've never been kept waiting). She helped send our beloved Rex to dog-heaven while letting us stay with him for over two hours. Since then, she's cared for two more of our furry kids and I adore and fully trust her. Read Less

I have a 14 year old mutt who is sick and new to the area, Dr. Emily Smith, was wonderful with her wholesome but very educated advice.  Two degrees, one in microbiology and one in epidemiology plus her DMV!  She comes from a family of veterinarian's, and it shows in her bedside manners; practical advice, in-depth knowledge, and obvious care and love for my dog, Seven.  He is a big old dog, and breaking down, but with a few adjustments we should have him with us a little longer. No crime in getting old and needing a little more care.  She advised on possible treatment paths, but no pressure when I said I prefer natural methods...giving good advice on diet and what to watch for. Thank you for the time, advice, attention and care Dr. Smith!  I recommend you with high marks.  You will make a great community Vet and we are very-very happy to have you in our lovely valley next to our majestic mountains here in Washoe Valley. I absolutely love this hospital! Such a welcoming feeling when I came in for my appointment. The front staff were enjoyable and treated me like family even though I was new to the place. I came there strictly for Acupuncture, but now they made a life long client out of me. The vets at Washoe Valley Veterinary Hospital are very educated and friendly! They explain all of the terminology as they go so I was able to understand what was happening with my dog. The vet here saved me time and money after another vet told me that my dog needed ACL surgery. Turns out there was no 3,000 dollar surgery needed! I recently moved to Reno and found myself in need of a Vet. I visited a Vet that had good reputation in Reno but didn't get a good feel about the level of concern about my pet. He is older and putting him through extensive surgery is a big concern. So we sought out recommendations of  friends and decided to get a second opinion here.Glad we did. Dr. Fisher is definitely a vet that has a high level of concern. She was definitely more interested in out pet's best interest and not just the money.If money is your main concern the go to Washoe because they are more concerned about the care than the money.If you want a vet that has the best interest of your pet then Go to Washoe Valley Vet. I took my dog to WVVH for the first time today. She was due for immunizations and a checkup. They were highly recommended by my neighbors. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The vet tech was very nice and explained everything that he was doing. Dr. Moreo was terrific too. She explained what was needed, what other options we had and clearly explained the cost ahead of time. My dog was treated well and had a good vet experience. Dr. Moreo is amazing! My dog had foxtails in a very unpleasant location and was very nervous. Not only did she get the foxtails out, but she also got some older ones out from a previous incident that a different vet failed to get out completely. She made my dog feel at ease and did an amazing job! The other doctors and staff are great, they really care about the animals and owners and it shows. Read Less

I would highly recommend Dr. Randy Warner of Washoe Valley Vet. He is experienced and always is willing to spend time with you to answer any questions, and will explain everything in detail regarding your pet's problems or illness.
