Hope this okay to share. It's my Facebook page post regarding my experience. So on saturday March 3rd I had to have my little pug Molly put to sleep. Molly was almost 15 years old and losing her was heartbreaking. I took her to Ann Rd animal hospital where I requested the same services as far as cremation that I had last year for her sister Lucy. I had 2 separate employees come and ask me what I wanted. I told them both and somehow they both got it wrong. My daughter called the hospital this morning asking why we hadn't heard anything from them? This is when we found out they got it wrong so we went to Ann Rd animal hospital and waited to speak to someone. The girl who cashed me out approached us and said "Helie right? Follow me I'll put you in a room" she stood at the door glaring at us as we passed through. Then a lady comes in and gives us some song and dance about how sorry they are that there was a misunderstanding and the girl who cashed me out didn't understand how to use their computer system. I listened calmly and requested I talk to a manager she assured me that she would have the boss, Dr Bullard call me so that I could speak to him. I told her that I would give him until the end of the day that if I didn't hear from him I would be sharing this tragedy on every social media avenue I could to let people know how inept and careless these employee were. I never got a call from Dr. Bullard, I called Ann Rd animal hospital at 8:55 pm to be told that Tara the lady I spoke to in the exam room and Dr. Bullard were gone already. The girl who cashed me out named Allysia told me that Dr. Bullard was aware of the situation but had been too busy to call me. Obviously he is too busy to ensure that his staff is properly trained and know exactly what to do to ensure the cremation and appropriate memory keepsake items are returned to the family. I'm heartbroken to have lost my dog tragically she still had life left to live but was attacked by another dog and she was in great pain there was not much time for a proper goodbye. I'm sharing this so that no other family takes their furbaby to Ann Rd animal hospital where they have no compassion or professionalism. I lost my baby tragically and left there believing these people would ensure my baby was laid to rest. Now I'm wondering if she was even cremated? Left to wonder what truly happened to her and now forced to share the ugliness of this tragedy on social media with the hopes and prayers that no other family has to go through the carelessness of Ann Rd animal hospital. REVIEW TO CONSIDER! Been here twice brought my cat for urinary infection both times. First Vet was awesome did scan for free, found no issues, sent me home with some medicine my kitty recovered 100%! 2nd time around Thanksgiving, brought her back in for the same issue this time I get a different Vet. I asked him just for the medicine & he denied my request for awhile trying to convince me for a good hour that my animal was dying fast & needs blood work, scans, surgery, etc IMMEDIATELY, estimate came out to $1800 & any other route would be a waste of money. Questioned him about the medicine I received previously & was told it would have little to no effect this time. I didn't buy into it, got my $20 medicine & left. My feline is now 100% healthy, better than ever. Now before even my first visit here or anywhere, I called my friend that used to work for multiple animal hospitals & she gave me some great advice & a dirty little secret about Animals Hospitals. Apparently Vets will try VERY hard to convince you that your animal is dying in attempts to make you feel super bad about it so you buy into VERY expensive tests, surgeries, diets, etc that really are not needed at all. She advised me just to take the medicine & leave, which I did. We have the internet, do your own research, look at reviews, talk to different animal hospitals first before buying into these crazy tactics some Vets implement. They're not all bad some really just want to try to help you & your pet but others will try to take advantage of you. Read Less

We've been bringing our kids here for over 10 years and where we live now it's a 30 mile drive but we love this place. Even just walking in there's never over a 10 minute wait to get checked in. Vaccinations are really inexpensive and the attention top notch. A big thank you to ARAH for your care last year when we lost our little girl Jesse. Read Less

This place is nothing but caring to all pets! I highly disagree with the comments bellow, a lot of this low reviewers are dishonest, rude and give everyone attitude for no reason at all. NEVER NEVER NEVER WILL RETURN HERE.  we took our Sweetie to this hospital as she was having a tooth issue and heart problem.  I made an appointment that morning and when my husband got there they could not find the appointment so he had to wait over 1 hour.  then in the examining room 3 different staff walked in and out and within 3 minutes one staff member handed him medication and a bill told him to pay up front!!!the bill was $85.42.  There was not any consultation or information about the condition of our Sweetie.  Once he got home he called me at work and told me what had happened. I immediately called the hospital. I was put on hold for over 16 minutes no one answered the phone. I called again in 2 hours, was told that the doctor would call me and explain about the condition of my dog. NEVER HEARD FROM ANYONE.  that night we researched and found another Veterinarian Hospital called Island Pet Hospital on West Ann Road went there the next morning.  They quickly examined Sweetie and gave us a very extensive review of their finding and explained everything.  [and the visit was FREE for 1st time customers]  They treated Sweetie was love and compassion. ISLAND PET HOSPITAL IS THE ONLY PLACE I WILL TAKE OUR PETS FROM NOW ON.  Ann Hospital just wants money and could care less about my Sweetie. Read Less

I took my service dog here to get her shots because their prices are very reasonable.  We found the front desk staff to be efficient and friendly.  The vet that we saw was very friendly and informative.At that time, we asked for an estimate for the cost of teeth cleaning.  We knew that we had waited much too long to have her teeth cleaned and expected the cleaning to require a few extractions.  The estimate that we received included 5 extractions.  Ultimately we had another vet do the cleaning and 7 extractions were done. The final cost from the vet we used including post procedure pain medication was less than half the estimate we received here. Read Less

My dog wonder off late night 2 days ago then someone found him and took to this animal hospital and drop him off for someone to claim. I posted lost dog ad on Craigslist the person called told me that they left my dog at the hospital so went there soon got the call around 530-6 in the evening and I ask for my dog. They said he was not there so called the person who found him and they said he is there so just kept telling the staff he is here and they said you have to come back tomorrow when we open I was like are you serous this is my dog I thought about calling the police but not sure would done any good the next morning as soon as it opened I went there and yes my dog was there and the staff was great I can't believe the people on the late shift would not open 5 min to get my dog and would rather have me stand outside to wait and tell to come back but I'm so glad to get my dog back!!!! My poor baby was so sick Friday night - thank God Dr. Bullard's amazing team of doctors & staff at Ann Road Animal Hospital welcomed him after hours; they truly care about everyone's furbabies!Dr. Bass was very patient as she questioned me regarding possible reasons for him becoming so ill so quickly; she explained what tests they would run, the expense involved and why he needed to stay. Even though they were already closed, the reception team didn't rush me or act impatient at all; in fact someone met me in the parking lot when I drove in. THIS PLACE WILL SCAM YOU FOR YOUR MONEY!I did plenty of research before choosing to get my kitty neutered here. I wanted someone who would take good care of Sprinkles during this surgery and after reading good reviews, I came here. Bad idea!The ladies at the front desk were actually very friendly. My problem began in the room with the veterinarian. I don't remember his name, but he gave a brief introduction before taking my cat out of the room. There was no explanation so I was left confused waiting for him to come back. He comes back without Sprinkles and proceeds to tell me the surgery will be $170 instead of $40 because he has retained testicles meaning they were in his belly. The surgery would require him to cut open his stomach to remove the testicles. He also said it was necessary since this could lead to future health problems. Thinking about my poor baby, I was ready to fork over the cash. Hubby, however, thought we should get a second opinion. When we told the veterinarian we'd like to wait, he lowered the price to $150 and later to $100. Okay so you go from $170 to $100? Umm, sketchy!Luckily I listened to my skeptical Hubby and took him to another hospital the same morning. The new veterinarian was somehow able to miraculously find his balls! So we got Sprinkles neutered for $40 without having to invasively cut open his belly to remove the nonexistent testicles in there.TLDR: Veterinarian tried to charge us $170 by saying my kitty had Cryptorchidism when his testicles were in fact perfectly normal. Love this animal hospital! We have a black Labrador retriever and a border collie mix. Our Labrador is very active, hyper and tends not to realize her size. Our border collie comes from a very abused background. Whenever we bring our dogs in the staff always knows just how to handle each one with care. We have been taking our dogs here for three years and love the service we receive. Prices are great, wait time is low, and service is caring! Read Less

We had been boarding our 2 dogs here since 2006. The staff is not always so friendly and the billing is always a mess. When we travel, this was the place we went for over 10 years- The vets are amazing, however, the staff not so much. We normally would have the dogs brought up to date with whatever they needed as far as shots, but in 2015 July we were told they needed updated shots and we had just boarded Memorial day weekend. After that we started investigating the amount of shots they had been giving my two dogs- which are 4 and 5 lbs and old. I found out that they had not only given them shots they didn't need on this visit, but also for the 2 years prior, and I'd been paying for the unneeded shots. I was livid and asked for the manager to contact me ( she was out when we came in to pick them up). She never called and i had to call them 8-10 times before I received a response. I wanted to make sure my dogs would not be affected from the overdosing of all this medication, but also be refunded for the over charged. At this point, I have not been refunded, although I was promised I would be and my husband was send to collections for the final bill of the last stay we were there- and we paid cash. I am filing a complaint wit the state. Luckily, I keep all my receipts in the dogs files- Do NOT bring your pets here. There are a lot better places who actually have competent staff who actually care about the animals. They are not operating properly and over billing and so disorganized that they give hots the animals don't need- just to make some extra money. Read Less

Went to a interview. Surg tech told a dog to"shut the f up" because he was barking. The staff is rude no one ever smiles. A dog was bleeding and I let them know twice just so they could attend to him. Instead she was joking around with another employee.Thankful for the interview and experience, I was even invited for another interviews, but I didn't go. I'll be taking my dogs elsewhere.Only the vets seemed truly passionate to be working here. I finally know why they said my dog wasn't crying when he left from his neuter because they hardly pay attention to them or check on them. Read Less

I have been in here twice. I was not greeted in a friendly manner neither time. I wanted to puchase ear cleanse . I have used the same product for 4 years. They refused unless I saw the vet. I knew what I needed but they would not sell it to me. I purchased it online and received it in 3 days. I also went in for a toothbrush. Their price was crazy. I went to Walmart and saved a lot of money. They are very close to my house. I wish I could use them . Unfortunately I do not have a good impression of this place. Maybe I just have bad luck here. Been going to this vet for many years. They have always gave me options of what is in my pets best interest not what makes them more money. On multiple occasions I have had some serious situations with my pet and they have called many times next day to check on them. Even had vet ask me to bring dog back in to just to a free follow up make sure his illness was progressing. I said she was fine but vet insisted he wanted to look at no charge. This was my first visit to the Ann Road Animal Hospital. I was there with my 9 year old Pekingese who has allergies at 6 am walk in. Dr. Amanda Ford was very kind and understanding. My experience was with the staff was great front desk very friendly and professional. Dr Ford was great my pup is doing so much better and will be getting allergy treatments monthly! I took my dog into this hospital because it was a Saturday & they just happened to be open unlike my original vet office. I was met by a kind doctor who diagnosed my dog with glaucoma. After trying eye drops, my dog had to have his eye removed. He had surgery on Tuesday, I brought him home on Wednesday & by Friday afternoon he was completely blind in his remaining eye. After a trip to the vet Saturday & returning Monday I was left with the choice of more cost that would likely still leave him blind (he was in a lot of pain as well) or put him to sleep. I had just spent $1100 on my dog because I was told he was otherwise healthy & would likely live another three years & in less than a week, I had to put him to sleep! I felt like the least they could've done was offer to put my dog to sleep at no cost. I stood crying in the room with the doctor & another worker while they administered the shot. I was given no words of consolation. I left feeling like the loss of my dog was nothing more than a business transaction to Ann Road Animal Hospital.Read Less

The staff at the desk are rude. I spent $300 on tests done on my cat. I was told Dr Thornton would be on vacation and Dr Fields would have the results. I called the next day and was told Dr Fields wasn't in and they were busy and short staff, no one was available to read the results of the tests, then they hung up on me. I called later and explained I wanted to know the results for tests I paid $300 for. I was told hold on and after waiting was told the looked ok nothing to worry about. The next day I asked for the hard copy of the test results. I got them and was told not to worry, there was nothing to worry about RIGHT NOW. My beloved Rocky was dead 16 hours later! Read Less

Had my aunt's dog put to sleep here in January 2014 because he had cancer. They were nice and professional. I used my ID because my aunt didn't have hers, she was very upset. We paid in cash in full. These fools are still sending me a bill for this. I've called to let them know and they say it's in error, ignore it and throw it away. I guess they like wasting paper, envelopes, ink and stamps. This is the best clinic around and I have been to several different ones just trying to figure out what was wrong with my dog. Finally went to Ann Rd and they figured out that my rescue dog was injured when he was a pup and needed to get his leg removed. Best choice ever. The happiest dog alive now thanks to them. Every other clinic wanted us to put him down not knowing what was wrong with him. Glad I took him there or else I would be without a dog. Thank you to the wonderful staff for keeping me informed during the surgery and dr Bullard for calling to check up on him. The staff and everyone there and all the Drs are by far the best. Clean clinic with a great staff and very knowledgeable doctors. We have three dogs and this is the only place that we trust too treat our pets. We also board our pets here when we are on vacation and they are always healthy happy and freshly bathed when we pick them up. I recommend Ann road animal clinic too all my friends and family. I only blame myself for taking my pet here for the absolutely bad experience. I had a wrong initial diagnosis. Then went back for more of the same being charged each time. Tuskegee Airmen now Tuskegee Vets. Get it! This place just looks racist. I have never seen any other than a black vet and only one non-black girl at THE front desk. I was on hold for 30 minutes so I called them on my friends phone staff answered & I tell them they still have me on hold on another line, she acts nonchalant & asks well how can I help you? I tell her my dog had been seen there 3 weeks ago & is not doing any better (after my $200 vet bill) she tells me I can come in for a recheck but I still will have to pay $25-$47 but she's not sure.
