This office is wonderful. Went here about a week ago for my Ferret. Every other office in town that sees ferrets wasn't able to see him even under an emergency basis. I called them at 8 in the morning and was seen at 10:30 that morning. The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. I believe we saw Dr.Carol she gave my little guy a full exam. Let me know the price of xrays before taking him to do them. Did a stool sample as well to check for other things that could be going on were gut related or parasites. Next day I got a call as soon as she got the results and was given something to help baby with his stuff that was going on. I will be switching my Ferret and cat to this clinic for all of there vet care. The drive out is worth the service. :) Read Less

My cat had a run in with a dog yesterday and by looking at my poor old kitty, the dog probably won.  I was concerned that my cat wasn't eating or drinking, and taking 2 steps and laying down.  Mount Rose had no openings on Monday but after explaining the situation, and my cat's behavior, the receptionship scheduled for me to bring in my cat and he would be seen in between scheduled furry patients.  (thank you Mt Rose)Dr. Weldon called to get more information, and discuss a plan of care.  She explained costs and gave me full disclosure so there would not be any surprises.  This animal hospital is very professional.  Those who work there are truly vested in their customers.  No fractures...  just a bruised ego for Mr. Cat.  Some antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids and some pain medicine.I am grateful that they have returned my cat in one piece and am assured that they treated my cat with love and lessened the trauma for all involved! Great vet.I've been going here since I got my puppy digit. It's a great place to take your dog for check up or more serious things like surgery. The vet techs always recognize my little girl and they always handle her with care. I never feel like I over pay and they are a hospital so the offer emergency care, if ever needed. The lobby is standard doctor officeish (white with some brown decor from the 90's) and the separate dog and cat entrances to avoid conflicts. They could have coffee or refreshments while you wait. Last, they offer select dog treats and food in the lobby area. Just in case you want a special type of food, the prices are pretty close to amazon, so it's not marked up. Over all I always leave happy and so does my toy yorkie Pom, they can handle you breeds around 3lbs. I drive 20 minutes to go here and my dad was a vet so I know when I am getting good vet services and this is defiantly the place to go for your pups best care. Read Less

I love these guys. Two of our three dogs come here and the third will be coming here at some point as well. Our two that we have taken love these guys. The staff are friendly and helpful. They get along well with the animals. My miniature Dachshund is so skittish and hates anyone new that she meets. She will growl and bark, so I was shocked the first time that I brought her in here that she didn't do any of that. Instead, she would go up to the staff and wag her tail in excitement. If a skittish dog thinks these are good people, they must be!Dr. Gammon is amazing, knowledgeable, and so kind with the animals. I kind of wish the clinic was closer to me, but that's okay. Dr. Adrian Gammon and some of the staff have a terrible report with animals. They need to learn how to build trust with your pet BEFORE they resort to suggesting "sedation" in order to examine/treat/or perform basic veterinary routine procedures on dogs. Telling me that it was going to hurt her a lot, there would be a lot of blood and that they wanted to "sedate" my dog in order to clip a broken nail was the wrong answer!!!!! I flat refused, and took her to a Professional Vet, who did it in 5 minutes with me and their tech holding her. NO BLOOD, NO DRUGS and she was not stressed OUT because the Vet knew how to "talk and touch" my dog in a humane, caring and PROFESSIONAL manner. I grew up on a ranch working with horses, cows, sheep, pigs and yes....dogs!!! You have to create "report" with the animal~ any kind before you can mount the horse, shear the lamb, milk the cow, or PET THE DOG etc!! I am a Professional Clinical Laboratory Scientist, this "Dr. Adrian" flat out sucked as a Vet. She didn't spend one second trying to create any type of "trust". My girl dog didn't even want to be touched by her and she's normally a very very affectionate dog. After getting her broken nail clipped, by the Vet I took her to after leaving Mount Rose Animal Hospital (did I mention without getting drugged and NO BLOOD? YEAH, I think I did!) she was super loving and gave kisses to the Doctor, his vet-tech and me. Dr. Adrian should stick with Rabbits.....that seems to be her "speciality". It certainly is not dogs. I gave them $18.00 for the visit. When the Vet Hospital I took my dog to billed me for $20.00 for their outstanding services I gave them $200 dollars instead! Mt. Rose Animal Hospital is quick to get you booked, if you have an emergency, for that I am very grateful. Dr. Lori Burnham is good she gets 5 stars. Read Less

I am so happy with Mount Rose Animal Hospital. I just can't say enough! My standard poodle Lola Mae is my only child and thus very important to me. I'm totally over protective and very serious about her care. Her vet is Dr. Katie Weldon. Dr. Weldon is kind, professional, compassionate and very caring. She always goes out of her way to give my Lola Mae the upmost attention and care, including follow ups. I have also never had a problem getting her in right away in panicky situations. I really like when my poodle is seen, Dr. Weldon checks her out while sitting with her on the floor. Nothing like the shock of placing a dog on a cold metal table to really freak them out! Additionally,  in comparison to other vet offices in town I find their rates to be much lower than others. I have referred others to Dr. Weldon and they are always pleased. I would highly recommend their professional and wonderful care! Read Less

My puppy needed emergency medical care. We were told in a unprofessional manner that the hospital had no appointments & They had a clinic today. On 10/11/14 My puppy had several issues after being care for my a boarding service. When I called for a emergency appointment I was turned away in a rude manner. I was holding my puppy so I put the phone on speaker when I called in with (4) people listening. She said, "We have clinic today and No appointments available." She said this like a matter of fact. We all looked at each other in shock. I said, "Well were I'm I suppose to take him your my vet."She told me to wait. When she came back to the phone she said take him to a Emergency Animal Hospital. I was never told I would have to send my puppy somewhere else. My boyfriend & I decided if I have to take my dog somewhere else then we should find a better Vet. I called them back when we got home from the Emergency Hospital and told them I will need my puppies records because I was going to a Vet that could accommodate us. I told them I had given them good reviews & that I needed to change it. I also told her I was singled out when I brought my dog in for the second time. I saw the Vet run back in the back as soon as I came in. I explained that I watched all the other clients go back with there pets. When it was my turn I was asked if I wanted to go back. I didn't go back. A minute later the asst. asked me if we got another dog? Dr.Gammon wants to know. I said no. Dr. Gammon didn't want me to come back with my puppy, but wanted to ask questions which was none of her business.I had told myself I wasn't going back because I didn't feel welcomed. When I asked for my records on 10/11/14 They asked where I was going. I said I was referred to a better hospital by the Emergency Doctor. She said she would send the records to them. I said No. I will pick them up. When I picked them up I read the records. On the first page was a long conversation log about why I'm leaving them, I wanted my puppies records only. I don't need a conversation log. There is much more about the conversation then about my puppy. We were new clients. I called other Hospitals to see if this is the norm. It is not. Hospitals give dates & treatments. Mt. Rose is not fair and pick's who they want in the back. Read Less

Unfortunately, I had to visit this vet office this morning resulting in me having to put down my beloved ferret Xena. Our regular vet was not in, and after much calling around to see who could get me in immediately as an emergency, wound up coming here. There was absolutely no wait. The staff immediately took Xena back to get attention before even getting my information. Before long, the vet came out, gave me her assesment, and recommended the euthanasia. My ferret had been sick for a month with adrenal disease, which is very common and manageable. This whole situation came as a shock to me, and I was left wondering what exactly happened. Luckily, the vet informed me that they do a necropsy free of charge after euthanizing. Whithin 4 hours or so, the vet had called me back with the results. There was quite a few things wrong with poor Xena that was not known to me, and quite honestly should never have been missed by my previous vet.The staff was polite, comforting, and sympathetic through the whole situation, given watching a big hairy grown man bawl like an infant over his poor ferret. I am not sure of the supposed old vet with some of the older reviews, but Dr. Weldon was top notch, I really couldn't have asked for more, specially considering the hasty circumstances. And no, this place is not a ripoff. I priced some of the services out with other vets, and this place is even cheaper than my old vet (Klaich), for both the services I got today and future vaccinations for all of my other furry family (not just ferrets). It's a bit of a drive for me, but this is most likely to become my new main vet. Read Less

Mt.

Read Less

I highly recommend Mount Rose Animal Hospital. Read Less
