I can not overstate how much I love this practice! I have had dogs my entire life and I have taken them to several veterinary practices that I loved but none are better than Ponemah. Everyone I have encountered in the office is exceptionally competent, incredibly sweet and caring, and go above and beyond to make sure my dogs are well cared for. Dr. Edwards and Dr. Estle are fantastic. They are exactly what I want in a veterinarian. They are always sincerely concerned yet not alarmist about health issues my dogs have had. They always take as much time as I need to completely understand my dogs health conditions and their treatment recommendations. The staff is hyper efficient and super friendly to my dogs and to me. I can not thank the crew at Ponemah Veterinary Hospital enough. I am moving out of state this summer and I am only half kidding when I say that it would be worth the 4 hour drive each way to keep coming to Ponemah Veterinary Hospital. Read Less

My pal Scruffy has been a patient of Dr. Edwards since moving to Amherst. She along with her entire staff have provided excellent care and have been nothing but compassionate to my bunny and me. They have helped nurse Scruffy back to a healthy state on numerous occasions.Dr. Edwards' team are the best. I came home from work to my dog acting super unusual so they offered to have me in right away even though they were closing in a half hour. I brought my dog in to be treated and they waited too long (they wanted to see if it would “clear up on its own”) and we ended up with multiple appointments, more medications than would’ve been previously needed, more suffering by my dog, sleepless nights, exacerbation of all his symptoms, more complications, and much more money. The owner/or director was extremely rude to my husband. The quality of care is poor. Their prices are higher. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because their nursing staff was awesome and they were always pretty available when my dog needed to be seen. Needles to say my dog will not be going back to Ponemah. Ponemah Veterinary Hospital is outstanding! Everyone is kind, welcoming, professional, understanding and knowledgeable. They have given excellent and thorough care to my two dogs. Our Emma gave us our best; it was time for her to rest at 17 years old. I can't say enough about the compassion this office showed us through the whole process of letting our pet go. Dr. Edwards was wonderfully caring; the facility had a lovely room thoughtfully designed for those final moments together; even the office staff upon our leaving had a lit candle at the reception window with a note of reverence. Following days brought an office signed sympathy card and a memorial gift of a tree planting in Emma's name. Dr Jennifer Estle is one of the most intelligent and compassionate veterinarians I have ever worked with. I have followed her to Ponemah as I was a client at her former place of practice. Dr Jen has been by my side for the loss of three of my wonderful elderly dogs, has performed complicated cancer surgeries on a couple of my crew and has helped create and bring new litters of puppies into the world with me. I travel a solid 90-105 minutes one way to see her. She is that good. And it feels like her new home has resulted in her finding a good place with nice techs for her veterinary practice. Read Less

This place is the best! Our Sam had to have emergency surgery and they did a wonderful job, but besides that, everyone was so great explaining everything and really caring about my cat. Dr Edwards, the technicians and all of the staff have helped us to provide our pets with care through the various health needs we have encountered...some decisions more difficult to make than others. Dr. Edwards and her staff are awesome. They are so friendly to us and our dog, Charley. We got Charley as a puppy and his initial care required some special handling... he was a whopping 2.4 lbs when we brought him for his first visit. They take the time to explain everything and call us to check on his status after we take him in for treatments.
