I have been a long time client of DAH with a 20 year history of cats & dogs seen by them. Have become increasingly dissatisfied over the last several years. Began to feel like their care was driven by monetary gain rather than genuine love of animals. Tired of being shamed because I could not partake of the expensive treatments suggested, like take my dog to a Cardiologist in Malden. When I had my small dog with me, when I was getting a well check for my cat, I brought up the issue for which I had my dog in less than a month ago. In other words, their advice did not help. Rather than bother to physically take a quick look at my dog pertaining to my concern, Dr More looked on his computer to advise me to buy something else he had recommended...which was a bandaid, not a solution to my dog’s problem. I had had it! I went to a new vet & wished I had done it earlier! She clearly CARED for my pet’s well-being, spent a lot of time examining and asking pertinent questions, addressed something FREE Of CHARGE that I was not even there about and finally solved my pet’s ongoing problem. Dr. More is only in it for the money, and poo poos anyone who doesn’t have thousands of dollars at the ready to spend on their pet. My new vet also gave me a couple of great tips on over the counter ways to help my dog and noticed things about her that made me almost think she was clairvoyant. That is a REAL veterinarian. Dr. More & Dr.Sanfilippo are great----straight foward, & down to earth. We had to put down our 11 yr.Boxer. Any OTHER place would have taken advantage of us ,from many visits to e-rays etc...They did not. The crew that we met-Allison, Lily, Brandon were also very knowledgable& compassionate. My first experience with this animal hospital was bringing my very sick, unresponsive cat there as an emergency.  We hadn't lived in Derry very long, and had not yet found a regular vet.  We were welcomed with no questions asked. The entire staff was extremely caring, gracious, and helpful when nothing could be done to save my boy. They dealt with a heartbroken, devastated first time customer as if I'd been coming there for years.  I knew then, that this is where I would be bringing my pets.  I recently returned with my female cat, and received the same amazing level of care and service. There are only two veterinarians I trust with my animals, Dr. More and Dr. Boulter. Both have saved the lives of my animals. They are compassionate with both the animals and their clients. One of my cats had a brain tumor. Dr. More found me a neurologist and helped me make the difficult decision to go ahead with surgery. After the surgery, Dr. More called the neurologist, then called me to answer any questions I might have. I will never forget his kindness through my cat's health crisis! I first visited Derry Animal Hospital when my cat was dying from cancer. We had just moved to NH from Providence, RI and weren't sure who to take her to (she wasn't diagnosed at the time we moved). The staff at Derry Animal Hospital was amazing during the process, and very kind and caring. Well, that was about 3 years ago and we still have our 3 cats seen here. Although it seems lately I am here far more often than I would like (and I'm sure the cats feel the same way), they are truly top notch. I cannot recommend Dr. Whitebone enough either, he is awesome. I took my dog in today and after $500 in x-rays and tests they still had no idea what was wrong with my baby boy! They said the x-ray couldn't show exactly what a dark spot was and that they would need to do an ultrasound and MORE tests. I feel like I was taken advantage of and I'm very upset. Even if they find something who can afford to treat their animals after what would be $800-$1000 in TESTS! Took my tiny 2-1/2 pound chihuahua puppy for its first check up and they insisted on giving him the kennel cough vaccine. My poor puppy has been suffering with kennel cough now for 10 weeks!!!!!! This is not even a mandatory vaccine!!!! That's like giving your newborn baby the mumps, measles and rubella vaccine. Extremely poor judgment in following protocol. Not every animal is the same and not every human being is the same. Everyone needs to be assessed and treated accordingly. When a doctor follows protocol instead of doing what's in the best interest of the patient..... I run!!! No longer with Derry Animal Hospital, took my puppy elsewhere. I refuse to be pressured to giving my pet medications he doesn't need. Read Less

Last week My cat had a reaction to a rabbies vaccine which this clinic gave my cat which almost killed her. I called the receptionist in desperation and asked Derry Animal Clinic to see my cat. I was crying out for help and asked to see a Veterinarian and have them call me. While I  was at work my wife called and spoke to a Veterinarian who happened to be the Owner. His name is Doctor Elliot L. Moore. My wife was home sick from work Thank God and spoke to this Vet. He told my wife that my Cat was a bad cat which he did nor even see my cat in the orginal appointment. He refused service to my wife said he was busy and when my wife asked why wont you see my cat and was it my husband when he called did he saying something inappropriate. He told her it was part of that. Please beware of the Doctor. He is not a nice person and would have rather seen my cat die. Do not use him for your own safety. We took my cat Lily elsewhere and she was treated great and is ok. Read Less

We brought our dog here for life saving surgery to remove cancer. We paid half as much as quoted by a different vet. The prices are good, but the service is remarkable. They truly care about animals here! Read Less

Knowledgable and caring staff! Prices for medications are very expensive if purchased  at the office, I recommend signing the waiver at the office for online purchase and ordering through an online company. Grooming prices are also high. Staff has a tendency to pressure humans regarding treatment or vaccines. We return because the staff is great with our dogs and cat. Read Less

I agree that Dr. Boulter is a fabulous vet that I would recommend to anyone. She isn't just good with animals, she's good with people. I have an 8 year old schnauzer with un-diagnosed liver problems and she has always been kind, caring, compassionate and patient while I ask 100 questions. Most importantly, even with all the vet visits we've had to make, my little guy still adores her and gets very excited to see her. I would recommend Dr. Boulter to anyone (and I have). The receptionists are great, friendly, helpful and also have been very caring and patient through some tough times. My family has taken all our dogs there and has the same great reviews. Dr. Boulter is a very special person. She is professional, intelligent and always remembered the small details about our doggie girl, Jazzy. Having a pit-bull with all of the stereotypes and lack of education that people have can be frustrating. Dr. Boulter certainly showed Jazzy a great deal of love, hugging her at every visit. Dr. Boulter didn't ever push prescriptions or make us feel rushed. When we were there we felt like her only patients. We relocated to NC and saying goodbye to Dr. Boulter was hard. I love my vet! I currently have 3 cats. The staff and Dr. Boulter remember all my pets personalities and names. They're all very nice and so good with my animals. When I have to leave any of them for the day, I don't worry because I know they're in good hands. Very accommodating with scheduling. I love that they have extended hours now throughout the work week. Dr. Boulter is my vet, and she's just the best. I never feel embarrassed to ask a question. Even though the place is busy, I never feel rushed. I also like that she calls me herself to checkup or give results instead of just handing it off the a vet tech. She'll answer all my questions, even when it pertains to a cat that's not currently at the visit. She's also more interested in curing without surgery and really determining the root of the cause, which has not been my experience in the past. My oldest cat had a long bout with a UTI and kidney stones and we were able to find a solution quickly and are better able to manage the problem long-term. From what I know from friends and coworkers, Derry Animal Hospital is more reasonably priced than some of the others in the area. The last time I took all 3 cats for their checkups and they only charged me for one office visit. I guess it's pretty standard for other vets to charge one office visit per cat. The only downside is that they don't really do payment arrangements, even for last minute or unexpected surgeries. But they're very good at giving me accurate quotes and will quote various options and go over every aspect of the invoice. I'm a really cautious pet owner, so I always get the extras (extra blood work, tests, and x-rays), but I've never felt pressured to do so. Read Less

The Derry Animal Hospital is conveniently located in Derry, NH, the veterinarians are pleasant - but that is where the positives end. I've been going to the DAH for about two years since adopting my two, healthy, mixed breed, medium sized dogs, and have been asked to pay bills as high as $500 dollars for routine check-ups and vaccinations on multiple occasions. The technicians are polite but pushy regarding vaccinations that may or may not be necessary depending on your and your pet's lifestyle. I have found that saying "no" doesn't mean that the technicians and veterinarians won't preform exams and give vaccinations and then require you to pay. Staff will suggest a treatment option and implement before discussing cost, resulting in $50-$60 dollar additional charges. Pet medications are also double the cost of retailers or online services. If you do choose the DAH beware of hidden cost and less than helpful staff. My recommendation, find a different vet and save yourself some frustration!Read Less
