This is long overdue. Years ago my animals were patients of the Brentwood country animal hospital until we had moved to another location. I have nothing but the highest regard for Dr. Jody Kaufman and her wonderful staff. But there is one particular story that I would really like to call out that happened close to 20 years ago. We had a cat that had kidney problems and had spent a good amount of money on him which was not an issue that baby was worth every penny like they all are. However we also fell in love with another fluff ball from the SPCA. Long story short we brought Oreo in for his free check-up and to Jody the day after we adopted him. He was acting extremely out of the ordinary that entire night before didn't eat didn't use the litter box extra we didn't know if it was just because everything was overwhelming. It ended up at the visit that he had a blockage and required immediate surgery. Jody called the spca and they told her we could bring him back and we were crying. Jody hung up and looked at us and said don't worry I will do the surgery don't you worry about anything. It ended up the poor cat needed two surgeries which her and Dr Bassett from Exeter both did and they took care of everything without blinking an eye. True humanitarians and special people that truly love animals.

Great place. Brought my dog there a few times for a 2nd opinion. Worth the additional 20 mins there and back. Staff is very friendly. We saw Dr. Kaufman. She was fantastic and very thorough, kind, and knowledgeable. The cost was very reasonable as well. I definitely recommend this place.

The vets and support staff here are wonderful. I had an almost 16 year old dog; we lived in five places (with many vets) over the course of her life and BCAH was the most supportive and welcoming vet that we have been to. They were kind, caring, and always very informative. They made the last years of my dog's life so much better with their care and support.

I have been going here for 25 years, had many pets treated and helped, from new born to end of life. Never had a bad experience. Even when its the toughest of times they are thoughtful and respectful of your feelings and pets. I occasionally found that If they were extremely busy with a full waiting room and you have an anxious pet they may ask you to keep them in the car until its time to bring them in or maybe bring them in the back door to reduce the pets anxiety, and avoid problems with other pets in the waiting room. This is something I appreciate having a very large dog that is a baby, he will sometimes be a little uncontrollable in the waiting room having the back entrance has helped on occasions to reduce his stress and have a smooth visit.

I thought this place was great until i called earlier today. My dog had been in multiple times within the last year and so i assumed it would be better to bring him to his regular vet rather than an emergency vet hospital that was nearby. He was very sick this morning and i was crying worried when i called. I was told they could try to squeeze him in four hours later, which was fine; i had called out of the blue and didnt expect to be seen immediately. What bothered me was that they said that i would need to wait outside with my terribly sick dog because "he gets anxious when hes there"....What dog isnt at the vet?! Hes not the most well behaved but he isnt a savage animal!! And when i had brought him there before for treatment, they said he was great, very well behaved! All they care about is getting their money. Ill be switching vets this week and if you care about your pet, i would suggest you do too! If i could have given zero stars, i would not have hesitated.

I thank my lucky stars that Baby and I found BCAH. My girl (as well as her mommy) is a bit high maintenance. She is almost 15 and has had her host of health issues over the years. The entire staff at BCAH is amazing with her (and her less high maintenance brother) and has her looking and feeling great! Such a smart and genuinely caring group of people!

We have been very pleased with Brentwood Country Animal Hospital. The care is incredible and they go above and beyond to find out everything they can about a diagnosis. Our dog had a rare blood disease and Dr. Hunt was so helpful with her. She worked closely with the Emergency Vet Clinic when we had to take her there for emergency treatment.
Our new dog adopted from Cocheco Valley Humane Society is receiveing excellent care from her now. Dr. Hunt is very professional and honest when discussing options. We would recommend this veterinary practice to anyone. They are wonderful from the receptionists and techs to the vets themselves. Thanks for all you do for our furry family member!

Since we move to New Hampshire 4 years ago, we have been a "regular" at BCAH. Everyone at the hospital has been super helpful with our dog who has gone through allergy changes since moving from the south to north.
They are helpful by phone or e-mail all the time. They also get back in touch with you and always have time to see your pet, if there is an issue.
First class and a very caring, pet loving place!

I would recommend the Brentwood Country Animal Hospital to anyone looking for competent and compassionate care for their animals. I take both my dog and cat to this clinic. We primarily see Dr. Lawton but have also seen Dr. Kaufman and Dr. Hunt as well. Earlier this year, I found out that my cat, Isis, had cancer in one of her paws. Dr. Lawton advised us that amputation was our best option as she had a very locally aggressive type of cancer that did not often spread to other parts of the body. She also suggested that we get a second opinion from a pet oncologist who reinforced her recommendation. Dr. Kaufman consulted on her case, and Dr. Hunt performed the surgery. Not only did the veterinarians in this clinic provide exceptional care to my cat, they also made the entire experience much easier on me. They explained what was happening every step of the way. Isis adjusted very well to the loss of her limb, however, she developed many behavioral issues as a result of her condition. Her recovery was a very long process. The receptionists and veterinary techs fielded numerous phone calls from me and were always very kind and helpful. Dr. Lawton went above and beyond in regard to Isis aftercare. She never seemed too busy to answer my questions regardless of the time of day. I cant imagine how difficult this experience would have been without their help and kindness.

We have always taken our pets to Brentwood Country Animal Hospital because all of them have gotten the best of care from a group of people who genuinely care for animals. Even in the sad time when one of our very loved pets my wonderful Old English Sheepdog Duffy had to be euthanized they were so understanding and wonderful, helping me get through that time.
My new puppy Pippi Nostockings actually likes to go there and tries to visit with everyone.
I even bring the Exeter Public Library guinea pig Dewey when he needs medical attention to BCAH and they know just what to do for him too.
I can not say enough about how great they all are and the high quality of care my animals receive.

I have to recommend this vet to ANYONE who has animals in the area. They have treated my family dogs for years, and are compassionate and caring and incredibly considerate during those tough months at the end of your pets life. Last year about this time I had my rabbit neutered here, and was very happy with his care and the concern they had with him coming out of the anesthetic. No major problems to report (and rabbits are tricky to neuter!) and they gave me plenty of metacam for pain. I had to bring him back for a bout of ear mites last summer, and Jody used a great one time application of something that got rid of them immediately. It was great that I didn't have to treat The vet-tech even helped me trim his nails while we were in. Whenever anyone has a concern they see us really soon. Jody and her staff never hurry you out of the exam room. Your welcome to ask questions and she always explains everything she can to you. Frankly, if my doctor was this good I wouldn't mind premiums and I would be more likely to go to my physical.

This is long overdue. Years ago my animals were patients of the Brentwood country animal hospital until we had moved to another location. Love them! Because of them one of my cats with one lunge lived a good full life. 19yrs old! and they don't give up on your furry babies. more then a vets, they become part of your family!

I thank my lucky stars that Baby and I found BCAH. My girl (as well as her mommy) is a bit high maintenance. She is almost 15 and has had her host of health issues over the years. The entire staff at BCAH is amazing with her (and her less high maintenance brother) and has her looking and feeling great! Such a smart and genuinely caring group of people!

The doctors and staff consistently show how much they care about their furry patients. It's a great feeling to know my feline buddy is getting the best of care. We have been very pleased with Brentwood Country Animal Hospital. The care is incredible and they go above and beyond to find out everything they can about a diagnosis. Our dog had a rare blood disease and Dr. Hunt was so helpful with her. She worked closely with the Emergency Vet Clinic when we had to take her there for emergency treatment.
Our new dog adopted from Cocheco Valley Humane Society is receiveing excellent care from her now. Dr. Hunt is very professional and honest when discussing options. We would recommend this veterinary practice to anyone. They are wonderful from the receptionists and techs to the vets themselves. Thanks for all you do for our furry family member!

Since we move to New Hampshire 4 years ago, we have been a "regular" at BCAH. Everyone at the hospital has been super helpful with our dog who has gone through allergy changes since moving from the south to north.
They are helpful by phone or e-mail all the time. They also get back in touch with you and always have time to see your pet, if there is an issue.
First class and a very caring, pet loving place!

I would recommend the Brentwood Country Animal Hospital to anyone looking for competent and compassionate care for their animals. I take both my dog and cat to this clinic. We primarily see Dr. Lawton but have also seen Dr. Kaufman and Dr. Hunt as well. Earlier this year, I found out that my cat, Isis, had cancer in one of her paws. Dr. Lawton advised us that amputation was our best option as she had a very locally aggressive type of cancer that did not often spread to other parts of the body. She also suggested that we get a second opinion from a pet oncologist who reinforced her recommendation. Dr. Kaufman consulted on her case, and Dr. Hunt performed the surgery. Not only did the veterinarians in this clinic provide exceptional care to my cat, they also made the entire experience much easier on me. They explained what was happening every step of the way. Isis adjusted very well to the loss of her limb, however, she developed many behavioral issues as a result of her condition. Her recovery was a very long process. The receptionists and veterinary techs fielded numerous phone calls from me and were always very kind and helpful. Dr. Lawton went above and beyond in regard to Isis aftercare. She never seemed too busy to answer my questions regardless of the time of day. I cant imagine how difficult this experience would have been without their help and kindness.

We have always taken our pets to Brentwood Country Animal Hospital because all of them have gotten the best of care from a group of people who genuinely care for animals. Even in the sad time when one of our very loved pets my wonderful Old English Sheepdog Duffy had to be euthanized they were so understanding and wonderful, helping me get through that time.
My new puppy Pippi Nostockings actually likes to go there and tries to visit with everyone.
I even bring the Exeter Public Library guinea pig Dewey when he needs medical attention to BCAH and they know just what to do for him too.
I can not say enough about how great they all are and the high quality of care my animals receive.

I have to recommend this vet to ANYONE who has animals in the area. They have treated my family dogs for years, and are compassionate and caring and incredibly considerate during those tough months at the end of your pets life. Last year about this time I had my rabbit neutered here, and was very happy with his care and the concern they had with him coming out of the anesthetic. No major problems to report (and rabbits are tricky to neuter!) and they gave me plenty of metacam for pain. I had to bring him back for a bout of ear mites last summer, and Jody used a great one time application of something that got rid of them immediately. It was great that I didn't have to treat The vet-tech even helped me trim his nails while we were in. Whenever anyone has a concern they see us really soon. Jody and her staff never hurry you out of the exam room. Your welcome to ask questions and she always explains everything she can to you. Frankly, if my doctor was this good I wouldn't mind premiums and I would be more likely to go to my physical.
