Stay far away from this emergency facility! Doctors are inexperienced, uncaring, and will personally walk out to hand you the bill (yet don't have time to call you for an update on your pet). No senior staff to mentor the new. My cat was over-sedated, under assessed, and sent home covered in his own feces. Had instant improvement once he was removed from the facility and brought to a new vet. Read Less

EMMA VAUGHAN WAS THE BEST!! She handled my newborn puppy, Jeremy, with the best care I have ever seen. Jeremy was very nervous on the way there, but somehow when Emma took him to the back he calmed down! I always have a hard time calming down Jeremy but Emma did it! I highly recommend asking for Emma to take care of your pet. In my 43 years of animal experience she is the most skilled tech I have ever seen. For example, when I took my cat, Stripey, in for an emergency, she got the jugular vein on her first try!! I honestly think Stripey's life is saved because of Emma! Thank you Emma! I hope you read this and it realize you have made the world a better place. Read Less

We brought my dog to Nashua Animal Hospital after she stepped on a stick. It wouldn't stop bleeding and although it was a small cut it looked deep. Our regular vet was closed for the holiday.  They said they would bring her right in and stitch her up, and call when she was ready to be pick up. So my husband left her there. I called at 4 o'clock to find out what was going on and they had just put her in a kennel and hadn't even started the stitches yet. I said ok I'll come get her then. Why was she in a kennel for 5 hours? You said you'd stitch her up and call us? They say other emergencies came up. I understand that, but you can't communicate with me that she's going to sit alone in a kennel for 5 hours? I would not have left her. I tell them not to bother treating her now, I will pick her up and bring her to my regular vet in the morning. When I get there to pick her up, they tell me they have just sedated her and I can't gave her back for another 2 hours. I ask to see her and they say I can't. I tell them if I can't physically see her I am going to call the police. So they bring her out and give her to me and charge me $500. She is not even groggy, she's been awake for a while. They were trying to run out the clock because it's additional cost for a hospital visit over 6 hours. She had also peed on herself and they didn't bother clean her up. Stitches look like they were done by a child.  This place is a scam and I will be reporting them to the NH vet assn. Read Less

I have had good experiences regarding care and overall experience with this facility up until recently. My four year old cat has a history of biting when stressed. I brought her in for her yearly physical/shot and she was trying to bite the vet when she went to do an oral exam. Instead of making an awkward situation better, the vet was snippy and made me even more uncomfortable and embarrassed about my cat's bad behavior. If I continue bringing my cat here, I'll definitely be asking for a different vet. Read Less

Such a horrible experience!  We will never go back! We had been customers for more than 14 years but concluded to end our relationship with this vet recently when estimates in big dollar amounts gave no details and some of the doctors became rude and decided it was ok to be snippy and nasty to a client. On top of it phone calls went unreturned.  BUT the worst was yet to come!We made the mistake recently in July to once again return to Nashua Animal Hospital on an emergency around 11:30 p.m./midnight when our dog had a severe stroke.  We knew we had to put him to sleep and we were broken hearted. I was in tears!  I decided Nashua Animal Hospital because they were nearby - when I called ahead to tell them the person on the phone seemed ok even sympathetic. What a mistake and the reason we will never go back - We entered with a dog who was ill and dying and we had to do what every devoted animal lover dreads. I was shaking, upset and crying holding my dog in my arms. Nobody was there to greet us - we waited almost 20 mins - still we wait. Finally when the front desk person came out she did not say a word to us - then when I motioned to her (this was just the same person I spoke to who knew what was going on) she told us curtly to wait as she cashed someone else out. Finally after that she did not say a word or even both to show any kind of empathy but shoved a paper for payment in my direction. When I questioned it and what it was all about (remember I am emotional so I cant put it all together at that moment) she rudely said you have to sign it or you don't get service.  It was so rude, so cold and to be treated like garbage at a time when you are about to go through a loss of one of your animal family members that we made the decision to leave and drive an hour to another GOOD facility that took great care of us and treated us kindly, asked very gently about payment etc which we took care of and let us have our remaining hours with our beloved dog.I recently called Nashua Animal Hospital to tell them what had happened - I could not sooner as I have been upset and to my surprise not one person called us back.My experience is if you want to be treated badly and pay outrageous prices with no explanation and have nobody call you back on important matters then this is the place for you. Ive been bringing my 3 dogs here stating in 2012.  Up until this past Thanksgiving, i thought they actually cared.  I was incorrect.  Every single vet we saw and really liked had left the practice.  Clue #1, should have realized then.  Clue#2 rating online is 2.7.  This past Thanksgiving one of my furbabies was diagnosed with advanced diabetes.  i was very thankful Dr Williams found it and i knew our care for Shuggie was going to need to change as she would be on strict diet as well as insulin twice daily.  It was an adjustment trying to find best insulin for her and the correct dose to keep her glucose in check.  Then things have only gone downhill.  1.  They prescribed the wrong needles which had i not be a nurse and saw this Shuggie would have been severly overdosed and probably wouldnt be here today.  2.  A few months ago i ordered her insulin and needles from their online pharmacy and the vet NEVER signed the orders so pharmacy could not send.  I had to pretty much stalk the office to get them to sign off on the prescriptions so my diabetic pup could get the items that are necessary for her life...  which after the fact the vet we saw told me that the office manager will put something in place to assure this doesnt happen again.  Supposeddly the person that handled the refill requests was on vacation.  So as a nurse wouldnt someone cover for this person...my pups diabetes doesnt go on vaca...2.  This past friday (8/10/18 at 8:36AM) I placed an order for her insulin needles and Heartguard.  As of yesterday (5 days after order was placed) they still never signed it.  I called multiple times, the pharmacy called too.  At this point both parties requested to speak to the Office Mngr, who im told is Megan, and we both separately waited abd waited on hold and she never got on the line.  A tech named Chantell got on the line and said she put aside 2 bags of her needles to hold Shuggie over.  I thanked her profusely and went right up to vet.  The tech went to hand me the bag of her needles and told me there would be a charge.  Plus she added that i was not charged for sonething at a previous visit and i had ti pay that as well.  Now mind you, i have already paid the $80 for the needles and hearguard and THEY STILL HAVE YET TO SIGN OFF.  I was pissed.  I told the girl i wanted to speak to the office manager.  I stood there for about 10 mins and the girl returned and saud the OM was in a meeting...right,lol.  So i said i was not leaving and would sit down and wait to speak to her after her "meeting".  So then after sitting there for abt 20 minutes a different vet tech came out and said the OM was in a meeting, which was now offsite.  So finally the tech agreed to give me the insulin needles and i went ahead and paid for a charge that was from in June, that they didnt charge me for and i left.  The pharmacy still had yet to get any prescription nor had the OM Megan called me.  They dont care about your animals health, they cant keep staff to save their lives and they have completely unprofessional/incompetent OM.  (The techs are great, no issues there) UNACCEPTABLE. The staff was very rude and unprofessional. I was very persistent with wanting to take my baby else where and I was told to wait, after 45 minutes I had enough. The doctor addressed me with complete disrespect and made it seem like I didn’t care enough for my pet, in wanting to take him home. I wish I would have gone somewhere else from the start. Read Less

We love AHN!. But, whatever is causing the breakdown in communication here may force us to leave. We travel an hour for our pets care b/c they get the greatest care here!. But, twice now, just getting a medication refilled or follow up questions answered has become difficult w/out multiple calls or such, our guy went without his allergy medication for almost 2 weeks!. I had called in a very reasonable time frame, and I had to call again almost 2 weeks after initial call, we were out of state and family watched dogs and house..no one ever called back so when we returned it was the first thing I did. Our fur babies are suffering now due to whatever is causing their communication problem, I can’t let them continue to suffer. Thankfully their illness’s are very minor but still causes them a lot of pain and suffering w/out their medication. It will be with a very heavy heart that we would transfer their care and I very much hope it doesn’t come to that drastic a step. Read Less

It has become clear to me that this facility has lost its most compassionate and kind employees. In my last visits with both my cat and dog, I have felt rushed, and not well cared for. I have experienced uncomfortable interactions with the front desk girls, who are lovely, but it was clear that they we’re being reprimanded by someone on the other end of the phone, (which was ringing off the hook because it seemed as though they were understaffed) when it seemed like they were doing their jobs just as good as they could have been. Outside looking in, it seems like the employees are not happy, which makes sense why it’s a ghost town there now. I used to bring my dog to a special technician who is no longer an employee there which makes me sad to know. I understand people move on, but the turnover rate of this facility is higher than any other place I’ve seen, and it’s just so clear the staff is very unhappy. I hope management fixes itself soon, because this place had good potential, but it’s very clear the potential is not seen in its wonderful staff. Read Less

My dog was hit by a car and had a gash right near her abdomen that was bleeding pretty good , we only took her here because every other vet service was closed near me. First of all , if you cannot pay up front they will refuse service. They still opted to treat our dog even though we could not come up with the $1000 up front , multiple techs came out with different stories. One said she had a life-threatening condition and the other said she was up and walking wagging her tail. They said we could come back and pick her up in 1 hour after she was off her anesthesia, 2 hours later I'm still waiting for my dog , the doctor on duty was very rude even in front of other customers saying how she's only doing it for the dog and that we didn't even have enough to save her. This whole staff besides 1 tech was absolutely rude to us , they are only worried about making money and don't care at all about your pet. Please people go somewhere else , they don't even take your pets condition seriously. Read Less

So my dog was dizzy and lethargic so we rushed her to the 24 hr services. Turns out she had canine flu. I liked that they were open all night, but the cost was ridiculous. They ran so many tests adding up to over $800 (and all they ended up doing was laying her on an ice pack to bring her fever down). They dont even offer any type of payment plans or anything. Either you pay right then and there or they refuse care. They didnt really explain any side effects from her medication or what to do if she gets worse or anything like that. They handed us a paper with a bland diet, a bottle with three pills in it and sent us on our way. I don't blame the vet that was there because she was very kind and polite. However, the clinic itself seemed very money oriented. I guess they figure if you love your pet enough to drive in the middle of the night, you'd pay whatever you had to. Read Less

My previous review was deleted or removed. Stay away from this place if you care at all for your pets!  We were minutes away from calling the police to get our dog back because they took him out back and refused to allow us to see him,  providing no updates on his status. We heard him yelping a few times even. We pushed the issue to bring him back out to us and after 2 rude encounters with staff and the vet on call, we got our dog back. It was blatantly apparent that he was traumatized back there. We strongly suspect he was mistreated.  He couldn't run into our arms fast enough and out their door shaking. We drove another 30 minutes to get him to another hospital where he received proper treatment. Read Less

We have left the Nashua Animal Hospital for multiple reasons. The prices jumped greatly with no notice to patients. They charge with no warning for nail trims and ear cleanings when they used to be free. The front desk staff is rude and pushy. Every time I establish a relationship with a new Vet the next time I go back that Vet no longer works there. My senior dog had a corneal ulcer that was not healing and instead of referring us to a specialist we spent a thousand dollars for a month treating the eye that still needed a specialist and surgery. They talk down raw feeding and holistic approaches. One vet tech was so rude to us after we had just spent thousands of dollars on surgery. If the surgeon was not as great as she was we would have left that day. Finally recently I had my dog scratch his eye and even though they were open they said I had to go through emergency and the front desk person I was speaking to again was rude and pushy so we decided that we had had enough. We will not be returning to this practice ever again. Read Less

I took my cat to the emergency room due to him not eating, and having a string hanging out his rear that needed to be looked at. My cat was abandoned and suffered a bullet wound taking skin off his back before he came to me and as a result is naturally skittish and aggressive when away from his home territory and when he smells other cats. In other words, he's a cat who gets cranky when scared. I explained this to them, and told them he had been traumatized and shot and they should be careful. The vet we saw was clearly terrified of him and gave him only a cursory examination. I heard numerous times how bad he was as a patient, and I finally gave permission to sedate him simply so he would be more comfortable. I was not impressed with their treatment of him or how they were with me in this initial visit. He ended up having to spend the night and when I called for updates I continued to be told how "difficult" he is. I understand my cat is not the easiest to handle, but he was scared and they were not compassionate at all in their treatment of him. The last straw for me was when I arrived to take him home the next day only to find they had left him in the carrier on a urine soaked pad because no one wanted to reach into his carrier and handle him to replace it. He had to spend the whole ride home uncomfortably perched in order to not have to sit in urine. While I can appreciate some animals require more care in handling than others, all animals deserve compassionate care and a treatment team with basic understanding of cat behavior. This place does not and I will never take any of my animals here again. After his visit to this hospital he was so traumatized that any vet visits are now extremely difficult and he can no longer be boarded. As the pet parent of a very sweet but traumatized cat, I am appalled the staff here traumatized him further and I will never ever recommend this hospital. Read Less

I'm a first time pet owner and reside in Nashua so needless to say when my puppy started sneezing blood, I wanted to go to the closest animal hospital possible. I was SO wrong. I will never be returning back to this facility. The first phone call I made while a was at home I spoke to a very nice girl who told me to come right down and calmed me a bit. However, once I got there my puppy REALLY did not like it there. We entered into the room, that was not overly clean but I'll put that behind me because I'm sure they have busy times. The Vet was a complete jerk. My puppy is a 13 week old Rottweiler and was extremely nervous around this doctor did not make her feel comfortable even though she is constantly around people and she has NEVER acted like this before. All he could say to me is that she should be in training already. Meelah, my pup, wouldn't give him the time of day so he used force and held her down, made her cry excessively, and she was so scared, she urinated on the table. After a CRAP examination where he didn't even look at my dogs nose area, came up with a bill for almost $450 for blood work that wasn't even explained to me fully. I left there refusing the blood work and called my vet when I got home and made a follow up appointment. My vet ran ONE blood test and examined my pups nose in which she gave me an antibiotic cream for the Apparent cut that was there. This facility is a joke!! Do not bring your pet here!! Read Less

I am seeing the bad reviews and have to wonder if they are talking about a different Animal Hospital. My experience with Animal Hospital of Nashua on 168 Main Dunstable Road was without a doubt outstanding! You may think after what I tell you that I am an unfit pet owner but believe me i am not. Kittens are into everything they can be. My kitten got into my clothes dryer when I left the room to get my clothes out of the washer. Clothes in, turned on and about half an hour later I heard a noise like when sneakers are being dried. My heart sank as I remembered all the times I saw him hop in and possibly he had without me seeing him this time. I ran to the dryer to find my lifeless kitten not breathing inside the dryer. I immediately immersed his body in cool water and pumped his chest and miraculously he started breathing. I took him to Animal Hospital of Nashua and After this experience they will be the only one I go to. We all felt there wasn't much chance for him to survive but started IV for dehydration, medicine for possible brain swelling and pain meds immediately anyway. They kept me updated at every change and sent me pictures of him when he walked, when he purred again and when he just wanted and was ready to come home. Yes there were X-rays and blood tests but none that were not necessary for this situation. They worked with me on costs and helped me get Care Credit which I knew nothing about and I believe my final cost is close to half what other places would charge. Please, no matter what you think of me, leave no doors open when it does not have your full attention ! We were lucky!!! He has almost all his eyesight back and his burnt ears are healing. One of our cats had to get a surgical procedure that they could not preform but they still charged us for trying. We were told we would get a refund or over $1,000. This is week 4 and we still have not received a check and have continuously been dodged by management/ bill processing. This is getting ridiculous and we need that money to pay the bills from the animal hospital that actually completed our pets procedure. This is unacceptable. Read Less

We brought our 7 year old Doberman here last Monday because he had a sudden persistent cough.  The (new grad) vet was very sweet and nice.  He diagnosed the dog with possible heartworm and likely pneumonia, based on X-rays.  No heartworm (we knew that would be very unlikely since we give him monthly pills).  Diagnosis?  Pneumonia.  Prescribed Cephalexin antibiotic.  Fine.  Wednesday a.m. I called the vet 3 times, my husband called twice.  The dog was in serious distress (I have a video that is painful to watch).  NO response all day long.  I called a different vet practice (All Pets Vet) and got an appointment within 45 minutes, at 4pm, they took him in the back door, diagnosed him on site.  Immediate EKG and treatment for heart failure.  Guess what?  50% of Dobermans have susceptibility for heart failure!!!  50%!!!!!  It's basic knowledge and flag for any seasoned vet professional.   He had immediate relief with the Lasix treatment, but damage was done.  Ultimately, we put him down today.  He suffered unbelievably while he was on the antibiotics, which, it turns out are not even an effective treatment for pneumonia.  Our beef is not with the new doc that saw us at Animal Hospital of Nashua.  Our beef is with MANAGEMENT that doesn't give experienced backup consultation?  Crisis situation and nobody called us back until 7pm?????  He should have been immediately put on LASIX for heart failure, just based on the breed.  NH Board of Veterinarians will be hearing about this.  Shame on you, again, Leo Bishop, DVM. I am calmer now after a nightmare of an evening, my wife and I took my 8 year old Dachshund here last night. Our Gabby girl is having back problem, now our own vet has her on steroids & pain management already but we have not learned how to express her bladder.  So we went here to get Gabby's bladder done so she could be more comfortable!!!    When we call they said we could bring her right done and we would be seen right away, instead we waited over an hour, the when we finally saw the vet and she put us through hell!!! First this Vet that had all the bed side manner of a rock, could not explain anything clearly, then she told us we would need to do a number of very expensive test in order to get Gabby's bladder expressed.      This so called vet asked us to do blood test, x-rays, more pain med for over 500.00 dollars, and spent most of her time scaring us into doing these tests.  After we decided to do most but not all we were kept waiting for 2 hours and after all of vets drama about ruptured bladder she had a tech do a simple ultra-sound and the tech did the bladder expression,  Additionally the tech brought Gabby into the exam room NOT SUPPORTING HER BACK!!!!    I am not doing the horror of my experience justice; my objective is to tell you never to take your pets to the Animal Medical Center of New England (Nashua Animal Hospital).  The whole place is a horror show with no empathy! Don't take your pet there. My dog has seizures and they will not continue the prescription. They want more money (their excuse is blood work) When I explained to them that I just don't have the money this month due to unforeseen expenses.(car broke down) the staff and DR Williams (who should not even be a vet) talked down to me like I was the lowest person on earth, and telling me about how I should manage my money better. It didn't matter that my dog is going to suffer because she does not have her prescription, but because I have to make a choice of either not fixing my car and lose my job so that THEY COULD HAVE THIEAR PRECIOUS MONEY (blood work would not have made a difference and most blood work would have only cost around 100 dollars not 400 ) I will be filing a malpractice suit against the hospital and Dr, Williamson Read Less

My previous review has been deleted or removed which I find blatantly strange. They pushed euthanization of my baby (my cat) and refused services. My experience with this emergency hospital was devastating and morbid. Staff was more concerned with me paying my bill immediately after finding out they were pushing "the quality of life" and telling me euthanizing is my only fair option! I screamed at the receptionist to allow me to deal with emotions and think for a minute. I spent 1200 for them to do nothing. They failed to figure out what was wrong with my. In the midst of putting my cat down, I had my hand on her belly as I wanted to feel her last breath, and the vet stopped the dosage picked her up and yelled "I can't hit a vein and I don't want you witnessing what will happen next" and ran out of the room! I had my husband, sister and friend in the room! Completely unprofessional and the worst experience I have ever dealt with in my entire life. They promised to have paw print plaque made for me and I never received it. It's been over two months. Read Less

We have said goodbye to four beloved dogs with this practice and they made our very emotional experiences as smooth as possible. We just brought our two rescued cats in for their first well checks and Dr. Fixx was wonderful in spending time and care getting to know our new sweeties and answering all of our questions as first time cat owners. Highly recommend! While I know this practice is considered expensive, in our opinion, you get what you pay for! Read Less

I highly recommend asking for Emma to take care of your pet. In my 43 years of animal experience she is the most skilled tech I have ever seen.

Read Less

Read Less

I has brought my pet insurance just in case something happen to my pet I can take my pet to hospital without worry that I can't afford it. They didn't tell my pet insurance the truth so the insurance company doesn't reimburse my money over 800$ that the vet already took from me. I try to call the hospital to fix the problem but they kept lying to me said the manager will give me a call but they never did. I try to call and call who ever at the reception pick up the phone was not friendly and hang up on me. This is the worst hospital I ever have. Thank you so much everyone at the Animal Hospital of Nashua.

Read Less
