I switched to Fieldstone for my pets care a few years ago. Dr. Stanley, and staff are always very friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable and work around my busy schedule. I recently lost my youngest cat unexpectedly and poor Amanda answered my frantic call. She was fantastic with making a very difficult and sad time for us easier. She made sure Bean's end of life services were handled promptly and reassured me her urn would be nice. It was more than I expected. As hard as it is for us (fur babies too) to adjust to her being gone she's back home and in her favorite spot. Thank you Fieldstone for always being there for our fur babies. Read Less

Initially went to Fieldstone for a second opinion, after our previous vet recommended leg amputation for a tumor on our 14 year old gal (who already has a hard enough time getting around due to arthritis).Fieldstone was able to successfully remove the mass without amputation, giving our ol' girl a better quality of life.  It may very well come back, but is unlikely to spread.  Buying her another year or two (perhaps more?) with all 4 legs was all we could hope for, and Fieldstone delivered. The fact that they were about half the cost of our previous vet also helps! Read Less

Dr. Sawyer and staff have been great from basic check ups to fearing the worst and going in for what could have been the dogs last visit. They are practical in their approach and sense where the owners are and make recommendations. They start at worst case and work backwards. As a pet own you have the responsibility of keeping your dog healthy and comfortable. The staff a Fieldstone understands this and enables owners to make their own decisions.  The candle on the counter that indicates someone is saying goodbye is a really thoughtful approach as that is the single worst day of being a pet owner. I would recommend Fieldstone and Dr. Sawyer without hesitation. Read Less

My experience with Dr. Sawyer and her staff has been exceptional.  Why this software only lists one of five or six outstanding reviews and the only poor review is beyond me.  Dr. Sawyer has been outstanding in her treatment of my pedigree cats ranging from standard office visits, to an emergency c-section to the recent tearful necessity of having to put an old, but favorite cat to sleep.  For years I traveled to Wilton Animal Hospital for quality care of my pets due to a lack of quality local veterinary care. It was with great sadness that I left their practice because Dr Sawyer and her staff had proven themselves as a great place to go for quality care, with compassion both for the pets and their owners. If your dog is having any kind of major surgery here, be careful.  My dog almost died from a surgery done at this hospital and despite seeing Dr. Sawyer almost daily.  She did not recognize that my dog was having major complications from her surgery.  If I had not been home, my dog would have died.  We also spent thousands of dollars for emergency surgery for him.  What's more, because of this experience, my dog is now terrified of going to any vet's office   He had loved going to see Dr. Sawyer and her staff, which is heartbreaking to me.  Yes, they seem really wonderful and compassionate, but I have to question that after how my dog was treated.  I can only hope that future surgical cases will be treated more carefully. Fieldstone Animal Hospital is absolutely THE best vet I've ever been to. All the staff are always very friendly & helpful, appointments are prompt & easy to make, I dont believe I've ever waited more than a day or 2 to have any of my animals seen & they squeeze them in same day (w/the same amount of care & concern) w/emergencies. The get on the floor & greet my dogs & scratch the cats for a minute before going right to work which makes the animals relax & feel more comfortable, my 2 big dogs used to shiver the minute we walked into the vet, they do not anymore, the 2 little ones still do but....little dogs, what can ya say lol. Dr.Sawyer NEVER rushes us, makes sure she covers all info & questions pertaining to us at the time, she gives all options along w/quotes & what she believes we should start with & not a single time has she ever jumped right to the most expensive, her approach is much more "let's see what we can do that will be best for you & make your pet most comfortable", I've been to vets who automatically push for insanely expensive fixes, Fieldstone is not 1 of them. 1 of my big guys is a pitbull (the other a Golden), & I have run into vets that treated my pit differently even though they should know better, everyone here treats him as he is, a DOG, plain & simple. I also feed a raw diet & have run into serious issues & had numerous arguments w/vets over this, Dr.Sawyer has chosen to take courses on nutrition & many other forms of continuing education not required (vets are not required to take any nutrition courses & the ones that are offered at colleges are put on by pet food companies, not the best source of truthful information!), b/c of her knowledge in these areas, the diet has never been an issue & the only time we even discussed the possibility of trying poison again was when my pitbull acquired horrible allergies & she suggested a few things to try & the possibility of a very specially formulated kibble diet that would have separated all the proteins & made the culprit obvious at a cheap(er) cost & more accurate/fast. Thankfully (sort of) we've now figured out that they are seasonal/environmental & NOT a food allergy so I have no need to feed my dog poison again-which is precisely what kibble is. I have moved a ton in my lifetime & seen more vets than I remember, I would drive 2hrs or more if need be to continue my patronage of Fieldstone. I'd give them 10 stars if I had the option. If your pets mean as much to you as mine do to me but you dont believe you should need to mortgage your house every time they get a sniffle & you'd like someone to take the time to listen to ALL your concerns & THOROUGHLY explain everything from treatment possibilities & what they entail good & bad, to cost, you owe it to yourself & your pets to see what it feels like to find an incredible vet you can trust & depend on & who will treat you & your animals like cherished friends. As a dog breeder who's lived in different areas and used differents vets over the years, I can't express how glad I am to have found Dr. Sawyer and her wonderful staff.Dr. Sawyer and her tech are always just a phone call away and very prompt to get back to me when I have a question! Appointments are easy to schedule and I have never had to wait more than 5-10 before being seen at my scheduled time. The few expensive services I've gotten 'written estimates' to gauge the price of before moving foward have been very reasonable and I have never had a service go over the estimate, sometimes they're significantly under!I never feel our appointments are rushed, Dr. Sawyer and her staff really take the time to listen to my concerns and answer any questions I have. I have been to vets who seem pushy to get me to spend more money on things I don't feel are necessary- Dr. Sawyer is quite the opposite, she makes sure you understand your options and respects whatever you choose once you're fully informed. Not only is Dr. Sawyer a great resource and support in my dog breeding, she and her staff were beyond terrific when we had to put a beloved dog down due to cancer at the age of only 6. There's no other vet I've been to yet I would choose to go through that horrible process with. They couldn't have been more compassionate in my emotional time. I have tried out 3 other vets in the area and ended up quite accidentally with Dr. Sawyer when my 'usual' vet was too busy to see us. I had been perfectly happy with my other vet, or so I thought, until I went to Fieldstone. It was like night and day- 'acceptable' services vs OUTSTANDING services.Don't bother with anyone else- for competitive prices and a compassionate, knowlegable staff that treats you, and your pets, with the utmost respect, go see Dr. Sawyer! Heather Sawyer is the bet vet I've ever been to, and her vet tech is wonderful.  I have four dogs, all of whom used to fight like hell during vet visits.  At Fieldstone they get down on the floor with the dogs and make them feel comfortable.  It's almost like a miracle. We never have to wait long, and they let me schedule all four at once.  In emergencies, such as when one dog tore his paw in the woods, they let me bring him in immediately.  Heather is also very knowledgeable about the research for vaccinations and other procedures, and takes the time to explain things to me.  She also helped me set up a diet regimen for my dogs that probably added a couple years to their lifespan.  I just wish she could be my doctor too.
