I can't believe the reviews I am reading. Is this the same vet that has cared for my TEN pets, literally saving the leg of one, and the lives of three others? I was an inexperienced bird owner when my Quaker parrot had a serious leg injury. I arrived to GSAH at 8am unannounced in a panic, and Carol was able to immediately operate for several hours on the tiny bird, and reattach the leg. Nine years later, the bird is fine. When I had a macaw baby that was so sick it collapsed on my floor, Carol was the one who stayed on the phone with me and told me what to do to make him stable enough to move and bring to her. She then treated him personally with round the clock, top notch care and saved his life. And taught me how to handle a macaw! Next, my outdoor cat disappeared. While I sat next to her crying and berating myself for even letting him go out, she provided such kind, calm reassurance - I will never forget it. Turns out he was locked in a neighbor's barn for two months -- and found early on Sunday morning. Again, my half-weight and seizuring cat were at Carol's door, and she performed emergency services with complete attention and kindness. He survived because of her treatment decisions - I am convinced other vets would have put him down. He just turned 9. Finally, I had a pug that had literally a million problems - all undiagnosed and misdiagnosed by other vets until I met her. She kept my little guy going as long as he could with a difficult combination of diabetes, Addisons, lyme, and vestibular disease. When the time finally came to put him down a couple weeks ago, NO ONE could have been more kind and supportive. Carol and her staff treat their client's pets like their own, and losing this cantankerous pug was very difficult for everyone in the room, and it showed. I want all my pets to be treated by her first, and will always follow her intuitive advice about animals. When the time comes for each of them I hope she is there. Yes, she can be strong worded in the heat of the moment, but it is not from meanness of any sort. Her staff knows this. She loves animals, has a sixth sense about what they need, and she loves their people. I know this. She doesn't judge based on financial ability to pay, and worked with me to find ways of treating my pets that I could manage. Carol and her staff ARE FAMILY and there is NOWHERE ELSE I ever want to take my cats, parrots, and pups. As horrendous as it is to say goodbye to a dog, having Carol and her staff there made it bearable. She is so generous with her time, taking the time to handle things personally when most clinics rely on messages and techs doing serious things. She is also a selfless wildlife rehabber, and has performed miracles with these creatures, too. If there were ten stars, I'd give eleven. Carol is simply the best vet I have ever known (and I used to work at a vet clinic, and have been to vets my entire life.) I am so, so grateful for everything she has done for my fur and feather clan that it hurts to read such negative things. Give her a try...and know that she is an amazing powerhouse of a veterinary provider. Read Less
