Sadly agree with the negative reviews.  This Vet used to be a lot more compassionate, but it is not the same, the Dr's keep changing and they have zero personality or compassion and neither do most of the techs or receptionists.  It is baffling that these people chose this as their careers and treat the animals and their owners so rudely? They are amazing! Our Puppy Phoebe is 6 months and we've had to go to the vet 5-7 times so far for her puppy shots, spay, and a an emergency check up. Audubon Vet has been absolutely and they treat Phoebe like she is one of their own when we go. They are extremely accommodating, caring, and have been welcoming when we have to come unannounced. They take good care of my two cats. We usually go to Dr Gorman and really like her but have also seen the other doctors. They have a great dental program for teeth cleaning that we use yearly with our one cat. Everyone is friendly and I've never had a bad experience in the last four or so years we've been going there. Our previous vet was all about charging you for every little thing and doing unnecessary tests just to make money. I am really happy we found this place, in fact, my neighbor recommended them to me. The only thing I can say about this place is ZERO compassion. I called them as they are a vet in my town. It was snowing, I was afraid to drive, but my 12 year old Chihuahua had a tumor rupture and needed to be seen asap. I called them for an apt. explaining the situation. You know what I was told? It will be 65.00 to see her and another 65 to euthanize her and then the body disposal fee....I was crying so hard and the receptionist then said, well, I don't know what to tell you, you need to make a decision. Will never take my animals any where else! Beat Collingswood veterinary hospital's prices 5 fold. After paying Collingswood veterinary hospital $1500 for an incomplete treatment and then almost being suckered in to spending another $1000 for them to Finish what they started the following day when my cat was still obstructed, I called audobon for a second opinion. They not only quoted me way less than I had already paid for this unfinished procedure but even beat that quote when I brought my cat in. The staff and doctor were all amazing, caring and there for the right reason! They don't make it all about the money. I never write reviews and had to because I was wowed by this place. Please, please, please don't listen to the negative reviews you read here and give this place a shot. Collingswood vet only has a better Google review score because they bring their clients by offering a financial incentive to leave a 5 star review which they did to me when I was there. Had a great first experience. Called the office because my dogs face was swollen with an abscess and they squeezed me in at the end of day and my dog wasn't even a patient there. The staff was very nice and sparked up a conversation like the knew us. Looks like I'll be changing Vets. Read Less

He brings veterinary proficiency, including superb surgical skills, amazing communication skills, and clearly leads the practice's expert and caring culture. I honestly find it hard to describe how terrible my experience was. I know they are on the expensive side, so I wanted to get a ballpark quote. I call and on the phone I get under 200 for sure. My cat got a fishhook stuck in his mouth so i figured putting him under and getting the hook out, under 200 makes enough sense, i can swallow that. Once we are in the exam room the doctor and the "nurse" are discussing what to charge me... I quote, Doctor- " Just charge for the examination, and go from there" Nurse- "well thats only --inaudible--" Doctor " ok well, then charge for the ketamine and... nurse- "what about this laceration charge its 255" At this point the doctor turned to me and laughed, "we dont have a button for fishhook in the software!" I am sitting there with my proverbial mouth open wondering if they are serious. So they decided on 270, I say i was quoted under 200, the doctor leaves, the nurse says give me a second, she goes outside and talks to the doctor and says they think 270 is fair. I don't know what kind of business ballparks their charges like this, its unprofessional. Here is a pro tip, ya goofy, half asleep, mouth breathers, go outside the room and figure it out. Don't discuss how much you want to randomly charge me. To be clear it isn't about the money, its the way these people acted, the lack of concern about my animal, the cavalier way they came up with a number, the disregard for the women on the phone to toss a number out, the general rudeness is like I said, hard to understand. I half expected the price to go up when i picked up my cat, at least the experience would have come full circle. I recommend you literally go anywhere else. Rude, Unprofessional, and expensive to the point that the virtually spin a wheel to figure out the number you'll pay. Read Less

My pet has not been here before. My review is for inaccurate pricing. My dog needs an abdominal ultrasound and I was calling around to different veterinarians for pricing. The person I spoke with was very nice and told me the exam would be $60 and the ultrasound is $386 plus tax, so it would be around $429. (7% tax on $386 would be $419 total) I said to her I was not aware ultrasounds were taxed in NJ, that the other places I had called did not mention tax, I gave the benefit of the doubt and thought I was being quoted the total price with tax from other veterinary offices. out of curiosity I looked it up according to NJ tax info diagnostic testing is not taxable. (i had originally posted the link for the pdf with the tax info I am referencing. but FB would not let me include a URL in a review)... if anyone does an internet search of" are veterinary ultrasounds taxable in new jersey" you should easily find the same PDF with the information I read on what is taxable and what is not in veterinary medicine within NJ I have sent an email with this information to the general email provided on their website and I hope it reaches the manager and the illegal taxing of ultrasounds does not continue. I felt the need to post this review so that other pet guardians know of this and they are not over charged with tax on services that are not taxable. I cannot help feel bad for the clients who have been over charged , especially considering with limited finances, we pet owners have to pick and choose what we can do for our pets when health issues arrise, but to be over charged illegally is very upsetting. I thought my experience was mine alone, but after spending the night with a few friends who also use this veterinarian and finishing each others sentences, I now know I am not alone. Last month I brought my dog for a check up and some shots. Forget being seen on time, I gave that up last year. About half hour after my appointment was supposed to start a nurse appologizes for running late and shows me to a room and does the usual routine of asking why I'm there and any problems I've noticed. She begins to set up the needles and explains the process of the shots and any reactions to look for. A doctor I never seen before comes in the room and asks the same questions. There was something about the way she stormed in and began asking questions that made me feel uneasy. I don't know what her name was as she never took the time to introduce herself. I'm not an animal finatic, but I noticed my dog seemed to have a bad feeling too. The doctor checked a few things out and then told me to she wanted to run a bunch of tests. I do not remember them all but I remember a fancy term for an ear swab. I refused the ear swab as I am not made of money, and I did not feel there was reason to test the ears since I know the signs to look out for and my dog did not show any signs. There was no discharge, no smell, he never scratched at them, and I clean them monthly with a cleaner and a drying powder. Doctor Picone and Doctor Gorman has said for the last few years the ears look great. Well I guess I struck a cord because she went from fake smiles to seeming like she was angry with me and then began to tell me where she went to school and how great she was at her job and Dr. Picone must have gotten it wrong. Remember, this is my first time seeing this doctor, and she is talking bad about a fellow doctor that I have been seeing and trusting for years. At this point I refused all the tests simply because I did not trust her. After a brief argument, she then turned to the nurse and chastized her for messing something up with the needles. Again, a nurse I have seen many times before, and the other doctors have never corrected her. I wanted to say something to the doctor, but I was afraid it would have fallen on the nurse and she did not deserve that. I am a union man for the last 18 years, 7 of which I have been a union rep. She tried to bully me and make me feel dumb, and when that did not work she took it out on the nurse. You do not talk to people that way or treat people like that. Not your clients and not those you work with. I can only assume she really has no clue what she is doing, and bullying is her way of covering it up.In hindsight I should have also refused the shots. That is how much I did not trust her. I'm glad my dog did not have any reactions. I feel really bad for the nurses that have treated me so well all these years, but I cannot in good concious go back there again the way that doctor treats people. I thought it was an off day, but after talking with my friends who also go there, It seems to be the new norm. I loved Doctor Picone and Doctor Gorman, the nurses, and even the people behind the counter have always been very pleasant to me, and I would hope that who ever is in charge changes things, but I have a feeling I will be looking for a new veterinarian. They lie too much and if you lie to me you can't take care of my dog.  I got lied to about needing an unnecessary test prior to surgery.  Than I got lied to about a medication that "Had" to be purchased there ONLY because it was for dogs only.  That was a lie because Meloxicam is for humans also so therefore I could have purchased it as Walmart.  I'm done with them, go to "HousePaws Moble Veterinary Services"  honest and caring vets.  Audubon are robbers all about the money in their pockets. We have a standard release form that potential adopters sign so that the vet can release information to us. We were told that a signed form wasn't good enough and that the client had to call them. How a phone call is better than a signed form is beyond me. That's someone who has no idea what a legal document is!! I asked for a return call once the client called them and they said they don't have time to call all the rescue people back! Due to this, we can't feel comfortable adopting an animal out with no information on their other pets. Congrats folks, you are costing rescue animals the loving homes they deserve. Animals that would then be your clients. Clients that bring in money. I think the doctor(s) at this practice need to review their policies and address their staff issues. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I arrived for a scheduled wellness checkup and wasn't taken back for about 20-30 minutes and then it took a few more minutes for the doctor to come into the room.Anyway, I really like Audubon Vet Associates. I feel like they're prices are reasonable and I don't really have an issue with scheduling an appointment. Most importantly to me though is the fact that there have been a few times where I called the office because my dog wasn't eating like he normally did and just general odd things here and there. My baby Juliette (Mini Dachshund) just absolutely adores you and you can tell when I walk in the door by the way her tail wags that she remembers how kind you are to her. Besides the outstanding wellness care (and the puppy plan for the first year that you offer is hands down the best deal for any every day person trying to save money) I couldn't imagine what i would do without your personal care and big hearts! Recently made the decision to get my baby girl spayed (at 6 months, 6 pounds) and the night before i didn't sleep.. I just laid up with her all night. The morning when i dropped her off for her half day procedure i was a mess. I was crying and Sharon was very patient, caring, and companionate with not just me but Julie as well. After i finally left she told me i could call all day to check on Julies progress. I wont tell the full story but as i understand, Sharon did not leave my baby girls side all day. The best veterinary group in the area! These folks worked tirelessly on our cat who had swallowed a long string! They diagnosed him quickly and did a very delicate operation on him. When he contracted an infection post-surgery, they worked tirelessly to bring him back from the brink of death. We just got him home after ten days in their care. I had an extremely negative experience with these doctors and would highly discourage anyone from going to this vet. I took my cat in on Friday for a blocked Urinary track. I took him home on Saturday to monitor and he died Saturday night. When I asked for relief on the $800.00 + bill I paid, I was offered a discount on the cremation services to dispose of the Cat. BAD business...Steer clear of these hack and find a respectable vet that cares about more than the almighty dollar! I will be finding a new vet! Read Less

I felt ripped off. I explained to the doctor that I already had antibiotics at home and he said  that it didn't matter because those antibiotics he was prescribing were specifically for the issue my dog was having. He made me pay over $200 in antibiotics for two months supply which I found ridiculous. When I came back home I realized that I had the same type of antibiotics at home, the same ones I  have always bought for every type of issue my dog had had in the past. Not only that. I felt shocked when they gave me a container of medicine unlabeled. I asked about it and the person at the front desk told me that I couldn't leave the premises with medication unlabeled. Then she printed a random label from a different client and stuck it on my container. I literally have a label with another's client name, her phone number, her pet's name and the pet's vaccination history stuck on my pet's container. That was my first and last visit to this place.A completely outrageous experience. Read Less

Had an appointment, the vet never called to confirm. Called the night before to confirm, was assured they would be open despite inclement weather. Called in the morning, answering machine message said they would be open normal time. We brought our dog over, no one was there at the time of our appointment.No notice about canceling our appointment, never returned any of my calls to find out what happened. If this is how they treat customers, you should probably think long and hard about how they treat your pets! This place is a must-skip. Read Less

We started going here on a recommendation from a family member after getting a new puppy. While the service was adequate if the dog is healthy, our pup had repeated bouts of pneumonia and I do not feel that the vet or the staff addressed the situation properly. When we returned for a third time with the pup once again not doing well (lethargic, shivering, not eating at home), they said they found nothing on their exam. My partner took the dog home and called back when puppy then threw up. The staff said it was likely just car-sickness (which she'd never had on any other car ride). We took her to Penn Vet Hospital at that point for a second opinion and it turned out she had diffuse bilateral pneumonia. When they examined her the next day at the Penn vet hospital, she was found to have a cleft palate. This is a hard thing to diagnose, I am not upset that it was missed by our vet. I AM disappointed though that we would bring the dog in, saying she was sick, and they would simply say she was fine and discharge her and on top of it tell us nothing was wrong again after she started throwing up. It seems that a thorough exam was not actually done, as she was breathing very poorly and had changes in her breath sounds the whole time. If you have a pretty healthy animal that needs only shots and a quick check up once in a while, this vet is probably fine. If anything more serious is happening, unfortunately, I don't feel confident that the one vet working there has enough time to spend on each individual animal. I am in the process of finding another vet because I no longer trust the judgment of the doctor at Audubon. Read Less
