I brought my two cats here when I moved to the area about a year ago for a rabies injection and a general check up because they were vomiting here and there. We were brought into a room and met by a vet tech. I explained what was going on to her and although she seemed concerned she was very rough with my first cat. I explained to her my second cat is a nervous one and should be more careful and cautious with my second cat. I asked her to give him a minute to get comfortable with her. If anything she was more rough and mean to him. She called other techs into the room after getting extremely frustrated with him and had them hold him down to the table. I explained to her that he will allow me to hold him still, or if you just pet him gently a few times he will be comfortable and let her do her thing without giving her trouble. She told me she deals with cats like him all the time and then told me I should probably step out of the room if the scene was upsetting me. At no point was I rude or seemed upset. I just suggested holding him myself or giving him a minute to get comfortable. I stayed in the room and now after struggling and forcing him down to the table for a few minutes, my cat bit her. He has never bit anyone. Not at home, not at a vet, not even at a grooming salon where he gets a full bath. The tech left the room and called the vet in. After the vet checked him out the tech came back in and said next time you should remind us of how he acts and maybe we can sedate him before treating him. I left and never went back. You really need to sedate a cat for a rabies shot? If the tech took my advice from the beginning because I know my own cat and she wasn't rough with him she would have absolutely no issue with him. He is the most gentle cat ever. I've never seen him react that way to anyone, but i wasn't surprised either after seeing how she handled him. I do not recommend this veterinary office and I will never go back again.

Used them when I first moved to the area. They mis diagnosis my dog after a few days I went back and was sent by another vet in the office down to the animal hospital and after some tests I had to put my dog down. I went to them for years with my 3 dogs so you would think they would of called to follow up on my dog they had me take to the animal hospital but they have yet to call I put him down in October of 2018. The prices seem to keep going up and service and level of care down. Look elsewhere for a vet!

I brought my 15 year old kitty here because she was having dental issues that were preventing her from eating. I went to another "fancy" vet practice in westfield where they said she would need a full mouth extraction basically. I knew my cats teeth werent 'that' bad. So i went to st georges vet for a 2nd opinion. They said she would only need a few teeth extracted(what a difference in opinion!!) And a cleaning for sure. So i scheduled her dental cleaning here and got it done for her. While it was soooooo hard to do, because i was scared of risks due to her age, i knew it had to be done and felt comfortable with this vet. The techs are very nice, and vets are great here. Its nothing fancy, an older place. But the quality of care is more important than anything! Yes it was a ton of stress on both my kitty and myself but im so glad i took the risk for my cats health and well being. Her teeth look so nice and clean now. And medicine and antibiotics are easy to mix in with a teaspoon of turkey baby food. Im very happy with this place and the prices are very reasonable!The only thing i would suggest is for dog owners that go here if you have an aggressive breed dog of any kind for the love of god muzzle it when you go to the vet. No one wants to be uncomfortable with your dog barking its head off at the little dogs and cats /kittens and rabbits that come here. Seriously! I had to wait in car with my cat in the parking lot during 1 visit. Receptionist was nice enough to come get us for appt, thankfully. I wish i would have found this vet sooner instead of that pricey westfield vet i had been taking her too!

Went there twice each time with different vets and each time worse then the other . They are NOT PITTBULL FRIENDLY at all. 1st visit they failed to give us all the meds for our 8 yr old Pitt and now he has a condition in his earlobe they also forgot to clip our puppies claws. 2nd visit - They were unable to handle a 4 month puppy to clip his nails and practily threw his leash back at me and told me I need to start playing with his paws more... I’m not sure what that lame excuse even means. Then they proceeded to tell us that pit bulls have a bad name as it is and that our puppy will have behavioral issues and fight with the older dog . Our puppy loves the older one and they get along perfectly fine. Never going back there again .

Listen, reviewing a vet is like reviewing a masseur... Very very subjective, every person's experience will be informed by many factors that having *nothing* objectively to do with the vet. But these guys have always been extremely kind and forthright. I have referred many friends to them. I have many animals in my family. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They know what they are doing.

This place isn't the most aesthetically appealing environment, but the staff and the service make up for it. I've been coming here for about 10 years and the staff has always been courteous, friendly, professional, and most importantly helpful. If you have any questions, you can always call here and they give you an honest answer. If it's something they don't feel you need to see a vet for, they have no problem telling you to save your money and they offer home remedies or advice depending on the situation. I have a very friendly and loving cat that lets anyone pick him up and he even takes a nice warm bath bimonthly. But whenever he gets to the vet he turns into a little demon and has often defecated or peed himself. Even with his bad temper, the staff has always been able to manage him and give him his shots or give him a check up. I truly appreciate that because I know it's not easy for them. I've brought him to other vets and they've literally had to sedate him to check him and I hated that they had to do this to my little guy. Not to mention, it cost me an additional $100.The veterinarian is always patient, thorough, and friendly. I feel comfortable bringing my cat here because I know they care and take good care of their clients.

I used to go to this vet, but since I have been going to the Raritan Animal Hospital I have not been back here. The office has the feel of not being renovated since the 50's or 60's. There is always a long wait to see a vet even when you have an appointment. I know that emergencies happen, but there is a limit to the amount a person can wait especially when you have a sick let who is agitated enough. They take care of your pet well enough, but what really gets me is the cost at the end. You will pay a lot of the service you get! I know some people are loyal and want to keep going to the same place they have always gone to, but for me this place just didn't work anymore!

Great Vet once you do your homework...do your research before going first to any vet for exams etc....if you adopted a pet from a shelter you get a massive state discount on getting them fixed. I was dumb and got quotes from 600 to 400 bucks from other vets...until I called the pound back to complain about the fee.. and they told me about the State Service. Vets policy is you don't ask they don't tell you about the service...Also save yourself some money and get a prescription. NJ State law mandates they have to give you one if you ask. I didn't, and ended up paying 60 bucks for 5 pills...12 bucks a pop...on line vet pharmacy for 5 pills 4.92 and free shipping.

I have been going to him for many years and he has always given us good advice and expert medical care for my dog. He has a strong team as well. I have been taking my pets there for 15 years. While I do agree with some of the waiting time comments I don't agree with the doctor comments. Dr smith was a great vet and missed but Dr ayres is now our vet and has been nothing but KIND and CARING to all 3 of our dogs. She always goes above and beyond to care for our pets. She even came in sick to make sure our youngest dog was being cared for when she having some severe problems.

While wait times can be long, they are worth the wait. After all, good things come to those whom wait! I have been taking my pets here for 20 years. NEVER zip a bad experience. We used to see doctor smith. Unfortunately, he lost a battle with cancer a few years ago. The man was an angel. Before he passed, we asked for his recommendation, as to which doctor to see once he became to ill to work. He suggested Dr. Ayres. We could not be happier. While she is a tad brusque at times, she knows her stuff. Yes the lady at reception is downright nasty and always rude. It's worth pouring up with her for the level of care we expect.

I've been going here 25+ years for my dogs. Bright talented vets who really care about your pets and not how much money they can rake in. Everyone I know who uses them are loyal, long time clients and would never think of going anywhere else for basic veterinary service. All the vets here only want what's best for your pet, and they explain everything they are doing and why they are doing it. I've tried vets all over the state and these guys are the best!

We were brought into a room and met by a vet tech. I explained what was going on to her and although she seemed concerned she was very rough with my first cat. I have been going to him for many years and he has always given us good advice and expert medical care for my dog. He has a strong team as well. Our dog is a family member and we value his health and well being and I truly recommend Dr. Friedman and his team to all.

I too have been going to St George vet for over 35 yrs... My greif over the loss of Dr Smith hits me every time I walk in there. He was a giant of a man. No one have I ever met had the compassion and knowledge to take care of my babies. Dr Bloom has taken over the care that I have seen in dr smith. Great Drs. Great staff. As long as they're there, so am I

I have been taking my pets there for 15 years. While I do agree with some of the waiting time comments I don't agree with the doctor comments. Dr smith was a great vet and missed but Dr ayres is now our vet and has been nothing but KIND and CARING to all 3 of our dogs. She always goes above and beyond to care for our pets. She even came in sick to make sure our youngest dog was being cared for when she having some severe problems.

My family has been taking our pets to St. George's Vet for close to 40yrs. Couldn't ask for a better group of Doctors and Staff. It's also great that they offer grooming too. I feel much more comfortable bringing my pets here than anywhere else.

While wait times can be long, they are worth the wait. After all, good things come to those whom wait! I have been taking my pets here for 20 years. NEVER zip a bad experience. We used to see doctor smith. Unfortunately, he lost a battle with cancer a few years ago. The man was an angel. Before he passed, we asked for his recommendation, as to which doctor to see once he became to ill to work. He suggested Dr. Ayres. We could not be happier. While she is a tad brusque at times, she knows her stuff. Yes the lady at reception is downright nasty and always rude. It's worth pouring up with her for the level of care we expect.

Great Doctors, caring staff. I've had numerous pets over the years and this remains to be the best place. Which is why with every new pet, I will continue to come back here.

Today was out first day there with our new puppy he spent a lot of time with him and us going over everything. I would recommend him to friends and family.

I have been going here for 20 years. Every person on this staff is amazing and compassionate. I would not trust any of my "kids" with anyone else. Ever. Doctor Ayres is the best!

I've been going here 25+ years for my dogs. Bright talented vets who really care about your pets and not how much money they can rake in. Everyone I know who uses them are loyal, long time clients and would never think of going anywhere else for basic veterinary service. All the vets here only want what's best for your pet, and they explain everything they are doing and why they are doing it. I've tried vets all over the state and these guys are the best!
