This hospital is the worst hospital in the camden county area!! I had my dog of 8 years under go $800 hip surgery at this hospital, they kept him for 9hrs AND did not notice they left the IV in my dogs arm! He bled out almost a gallon of blood from the wound in his arm as well from vomit. Had to take him to a 24hr vet in turnersville to remove the IV for another $140. We reached out to Blackwood Animal Hospital to inform them of the issue & they had NOTHING TO OFFER ME & MY DOG. I have more than enough pictures of blood & the trauma my dog suffered from that night! They did nothing at all. If they would have kept him overnight he would of bled to death. In a weeks span my dog has suffered tremendously. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO BLACKWOOD ANIMAL HOSPITAL! THEY ARE NOT PASSIONATE ABOUT ANIMALS. !! They just want your money! Read Less

I required a rabies shot and check up for my pet prior to moving in to an apartment complex. My pet gets very carsick and doesn't tolerate a ride so I made an appointment with the closest vet. The outside and inside was well maintained. Staff friendly. The vet (sorry but I don't have his name but he had a beard) was terrific. He even cleaned up the mess in the pet carrier. I warned him that she had all claws and was not friendly in unfamiliar circumstances. 1-2-3 and we were done and on our way home. Great experience. Read Less

We have been taking our two schnauzers to Dr. Joe Filigno at the Blackwood Animal Hospital for about 7 years.  Dr. Joe also took care of our Sadie, a sweet very old spaniel mix who we adopted from a shelter. He saved her life.  When she came into the shelter, she was so skinny that you could see her ribs, she had a massive tumor on her left ear, was covered in sores from flea bites and had to have all of her teeth removed. She was so old and in such bad shape that I'm sure many doctors wouldn't have made the effort to save her.  I'm so glad that Dr. Joe didn't give up on her, because we got to love her for two years.   Dr. Joe took care of her through all of this and took care of her through a really bad case of kennel cough which she got at the shelter.  After the initial visit, Dr. Joe came out to our car to give her shots, because I couldn't get her to take her meds.  He did this for the better part of the week, so that we didn't have to make her get out of the car during January's bitter weather.  During the short two years we had Sadie, Dr. Joe got us through several crises and he was there to help us let Sadie go.   When I call the office with a concern, Dr. Joe will often call me back to speak with me. He calls me with the results of tests and procedures.  He always takes his time answering my questions and I always feel so much better after speaking to him.   Dr. Joe loves animals, which is  evident in his "bedside" manner.   I don't think we could find a more compassionate highly qualified veterinarian.  I know that I wouldn't be able to find a doctor who I trust more.  Dr. Joe also takes care of our son's dog, as well as the dogs of several friends.  We all love him!  Whenever I recommend Dr. Joe to someone, I always get a big thank you after the appointment.  The staff has always been friendly and do their best to get us in right away.  This morning I called because I'm worried about a lump I found on our Mojo's ear.  I am so relieved to have a 1:45 appointment to see Dr. Joe today.   I know that I will be greeted by the office staff with their usual smiles, and how are you? And I know that Dr. Joe will take care of our  Mojo. I will never take our Molly and Mojo anywhere else! Read Less

We unfortunately took our pitbull here to be put down because she had cancer. She was suffering and we really didn't have much of a choice. They were very understanding and compassionate of our situation and allowed me to stay while they put her to sleep and for some time after to say my goodbyes. Last Year:I had an appointment with another animal hospital for a check up but that morning I found my puppy barely conscious. Since my dog was now in "emergency state" that other hospital ended up charging me an ER fee of $300. It was very upsetting especially with the lack of customer service provided!So, I decided to pay the ER fee but completely removed my puppy from that hospital. I looked up different animal hospitals in the area and came across Blackwood Animal Hospital. I called and the women who answered was very pleasant and said they would only charge me as a regular appointment.I decided to take my puppy there, and she was able to be seen that same day... I left paying only $100 for 4 different services and the staff + doctor were great!!! The doctor was even upset about the experience I had gone through with the other hospital. Come to find out, my puppy was diabetic & just needed a sugar boost and may have overindulged in drinking water. I would definitely recommend Blackwood Animal Hospital!!! I have always used this vet but today I used the grooming they offer there. I was beyond happy with the results. I have a 12 1/2 year old saymoyed. She has a TON of hair and has pretty bad arthritis so it's hard for her to stand for long stretches of time. Let me tell you..Boo Bear looks stunning. She was giving lots of TLC and the breaks she needed so she didn't get worn out. Susan (I believe her name is) was extremely patient and kind to her. On Feb.24th 2017 my puppy, Phil died at the Blackwood Animal Hospital after being neuter by a Dr. Zelnick. According to them, Phil's heart stopped, he couldn't be revived. Phil was only 7 months old. I believe his death was do to the negligence of the Doctor and staff. This dog had NO signs of any medical issues. The day I brought him in they had double digits of pets from local rescues and shelters being neutered/ spayed. When doing this volume all kinds of mistakes happen. Of course, they took no responsibility for the loss. Actually, only person who even said they were sorry for our loss that was the Office Manager. The Doctor was very cold and uncaring. Apparently, not even a member of the permanent staff but instead a fill in doctor who specializes in high volume surgeries. BECAREFUL and ask questions before bring your beloved member of the family there. If I had known Phil would be treated like he was on an assembly line, I never would have brought him there!!! Getting charged for an ear cleaning on Tuesday, fine. Noticed kittens ears bothering him Wednesday, and Thursday made another appointment. They charged me again for ANOTHER ear cleaning Friday??? Should have been done correctly the first time. Sorry, that's not how you treat customers. Judy,..I'm sure you'll here my complaint from the ever so pleasant 'cashier' I dealt with. If I'm not credited or provided a refund for the ear cleaning, I will call Visa and have the aforementioned cleaning contested and then you will loose many, many customers. I live in the area and work in the area. I'll talk to you Monday, hopefully I can change this post, for the most part your animal Hospital has been okay. Dr. Caserta is a fantastic vet.  I've owned animals my whole life and have never had a veterinarian spend so much time with me!  When my cat was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, she made sure to explain all the options of treatment...from diets to fluids to specialists.  I would give her 10 stars on this if I could!!  She's amazingly compassionate and thorough.  If you are looking for a vet, go see her! Competent, friendly staff We went here to have our dog's physical done. We didn't have to wait long, and the doctor was friendly and professional. She gave our dog a distemper shot quickly, without the dog feeling any pain. She noticed the dog's nails were long and offered to have the tech clip the nails, and we agreed as it would save us taking a trip to PetSmart , as the dog is not a fan of car trips. Read Less

We had a great experience on our first visit to Blackwood Animal Hospital.  We took our Shiba Inu there bc we thought he was having blindness in his one eye.  The office was very busy but the ladies at the counter were very sweet and upbeat.  We had the female doctor (I feel bad I can't remember last name) but she was Amazing!  She was very kind to our baby and gentle while looking at his eyes. She did a great job explaining the situation and everything she saw and recommended drops for him which made us very happy!  The office was in no way pushy and you can tell they all really care a lot!  I just called for a follow up and Linda answered the phone and was super helpful and warm while setting up our next appointment to see our pets wonderful doctor again!  I will def recommend them to my friends and family. Hands down the best Veterinary Clinic. Have been coming here for almost 20 years. Old and new location. Dr. Joe has taken care of so many animals of ours from diagnosing diabetes to urinary blockages. He's spot on from observation and confirmed with tests if he feels the need for them. Blackwood Animal hospital have been my Vets for 39 years! I stayed through the transition when the former Vets retired. At first I stayed because of habit, but now I refuse to have anyone else care for my pugs. They are amazing, knowledge and always squeeze me in for the surprise illnesses. Lisa at the front desk is wonderful as are all the staff. Dr. Euler is kind, pleasant and knowledgeable. As are the others Vets. My profound thanks for taking such excellent care of my pugs! Horrible experience... the staff, office manager especially was rude and apathetic. They sent me off after driving 40 minutes for an adverse reaction to a flea treatment. My 10 YO Wirehairfox had whats called a pyometra (Infection of the uterus) and had to have an emergency surgery. My local Vet quoted me $2556.00 to perform the surgery. My wife and i were very worried as we didnt have those funds. And they didnt want to do payments on the entire amount, they wanted half up front. We took the matter into our own hands and called around, wasn't till we called another local Vet that recommended for us to call Blackwood Animal Hospital. Not only did they take Daisy in the next day for surgery, their staff was wonderful. The doctor himself called right after Daisy was out of surgery to provide an update and outcome. My dog will be seeing them again in the feature even if it takes me over an hour to get their. I wanted to thank the entire staff. Its places like you that give people like us hopes to care for their pets in crucial times. Forgot to include the bill was not even 25% of what other Vets wanted to charge me. Dr. Joe and his staff are awesome. They always go above and beyond the normal call of duty. He declawed both of my cats and took extra precautions to ensure their pain free and speedy recovery. He is more about the animals than he is about proving how smart he is to the patrons, unlike other vets I have visited. Hi my name is Elizabeth Bryant I'm am 16 and several months ago on January 8th my house burnt down at that time we had 5 cats am a dog and when I showed up 2 the scene devastated..... and about a half hour later the firemen brought out 2 cats known as bubbie 6 year old Siamese and roscoe a 2 year old black an white tabby .... She has had numerous health problems: heart condition, low protein production causing frequent abdominal fluid build up, precancerous ovaries removed, mammory gland tumors removed, and a recent seizure. Thanks to the caring office staff, Dr. Joe and the entire veterinary staff, Cookie has made miraculous recoveries time and time again. We have always been able to be seen in emergencies, the treatments, testings, and surgeries performed have all been well focused and done only as needed. This has lessened the financial burden of caring for a chronically sick animal. Dr. Euler really cares about the health of my cats. I've had an ongoing issue with one of my cats, and every time I bring my kitty back to the vet, Dr. Euler remembers where we are with treatment and we talk through next steps. I've always had a good experience with the people that work at the front desk, as well as the techs who help the vet. My cats are not fans of being there and are quite volatile in the examine room. Even though I'm embarrassed, the techs never seem to mind that they have to put on the long gloves to handle them. I've been to several vets over the years and they are by far the best. Read Less
