on mother's day i took my dog to RBVH in mount Laurel. 1st let me say they were very nice at first. He couldn't digest his food and he was drinking a lot of water and urinating a lot, and sleeping a lot i took him that night he looked so bad. we seen the Dr. they took my little guy and  took blood and told me i was lucky i bring him in that he had diabetes and that if he lost some weight and took some insolent he should be ok.  so they then broke down the amount it would cost because he would have to have iv fluids for 24 hours the cost was $4300 on the low end $6000 on the high end if they had to do any extra. we didn't think twice so my husband went to pay and the Dr. comes back and tells us the they found the my little guy may also has a disease called cushions but another test was needed to be shore he then made light of it saying lets get the diabetes under control then deal with the cushions. a friend of mines dog died from the same thing so with tears in my eyes i asked would i get my baby back if we do all you say my husband told him you better not lie the doctor then said he my live another mouth or two.next question what about his quality of life he a said he would sleep a lot and not be his happy self as we know him O by the way the Meds  come form them and the cost of meds omg I just cried and cried. i told my little guy they would make him feel better and would be home tomorrow he has never been in a crated or away from home. my husband had to hold me up because in that moment i knew what my husband was going to say so we did what was best for our little guy and put him to sleep. after we had to leave his little body in a room alone they are very cold and insensitive to the family of the animals they claim to care about. if you couldn't pay 30% of that bill they won't help you. they may not have been able to save my guy but don't tell me i'm lucky and you have the blood results and can see we really weren't. his vet told us that they couldn't have done anything for him his digestive system and liver was shutting down and that he had to be in a great deal of pain so we made the right choice.never again. worst day of my LIFE.. I cannot thank the team at Red Bank VH Mt Laurel enough!!! My cat Junior, 11 yrs old, was originally referred here for hyphema (blood in his eye) back in February. Since then his health has gone down, up & around again, to every facet imaginable. The specialists here are absolutely incredible and I feel so thankful for each and every one of them. Specifically, we have been here for Optometry, Cardiology, Neurology, several ER visits and now for Internal Medicine. Each dr's attention to detail and care & juniors comfort is exceptional! I've come here terrified I am going to loose my furry love and every assistant, front desk staff and dr is just unbelievably kind! (and I am definitely one of the more annoying clients but they never seem to mind.) I cannot speak more highly of Red Bank Animal Hospital. Read Less

Awwwww your cat will "succumb"     So long ago, I can't even remember. Way before I knew about Yelp. Our poor cat had some diarrhea and took her into our "previous" vet. I'll cut him some slack here, if he's still in business, so I won't mention his name. Short of it is we were told to go to this place. They did some ultrasound and x-rays and came back with this dreadful prognosis after seeing what they called a "MASS" in her chest. Then, they had the nerve to ask us if we would  OK some "exploratory" surgery. Keep the meter running I guess. We said no.Cut an "mitrazapine" pill in 1/4. Hopefully it will keep her appetite up for ?.....4 days??? My wife was beyond tears. That was more than 5 years ago. My only regret was that I paid them in full on the way out. Read Less

We took our Rottweiler to the Mt. Laurel location they in my opinion over dosed my dog with sedatives it took her 3 days to totally come out of it and now is having seizures. When I called to talk to Dr. Cicci she was very condescending and almost chuckling at the fact that I believed her seizures to be from the sedatives she gave her instead of being caring and understanding to how I felt she couldn't get me off the phone quick enough and was extremely dismissive I wouldn't take my animals here again if it was the last vet on earth! Not to mention the astronomical amount they charged me to clean a wound and put ear drops in her ears they charged me a whopping 560.20 but they were kind enough to give me an 8.00 discount and trimmed her nails at no charge  so kind of them. Oh and the Dr there called my vet a liar great service I wouldn't take Cujo here! Read Less

I am very grateful that we ended up at this facility. Our French Bulldog, Stella, went into labor early and required an emergency c-section. It was Saturday around 3am and she was unable to hold out till her Monday appt. Before arriving at Red Bank, we first went to St. Francis Veterinary Hospital. The staff was kind but informed us they were short staffed and didnt exactly feel comfortable doing the procedure. We are glad they told us as well as recommended Red Bank. Upon arriving at Red Bank, we were informed an anesthesiologist  was in, Dr. Barton. She was great and made us feel super comfortable that our baby girl was in good hands! Our biggest factor to be concerned about was pricing..a procedure like this is not cheap. The staff helped us out the best they could. Dr. Winkler performed the c-section and we also had her spayed. With his experience and confidence, the procedure went smoothly. He was very kind, caring and gave us updates along the way.I would highly recommend this facility for any emergency situation with your furbaby!! Read Less

I cannot say enough good things about this facility. The receptionists were pleasant and sympathetic, the techs were all amazing and they did not make us wait to be seen. I took my dog there for an emergency after another Emergency hospital did an evaluation and felt he was okay for us to g home. My dog was severely dehydrated and turns out had Hemmorhagic Gastroenteritis which can be fatal. They immediately admitted him. It is not easy to leave your pet in a hospital but everyone there made me feel at ease and I felt confident that he would be taken care of.Over the next few days I would call for updates. The doctors and techs were very knowledgeable, responsive and always took the time to talk to me. From start to finish the entire experience (although under bad circumstances) was top notch. I would never go anywhere else for emergency or specialty care for my pets. I have been through an extremely emotional 4 weeks with my very special tuxedo cat Lucky, who means more to my heart than words can begin to describe. I had no idea Lucky had cancer (only 3 years old). I have tried every option there was here at Red Bank in mount Laurel to Save Lucky's life. It was my mission with all my being to save Lucky. When they told me he had a week to live and then after surgery an absolute miracle if he lived a month... I prayed and stood by my cat day and night and gave him all the spiritual faith I had. Red Bank stood by me and Lucky during the last 4 weeks of his time on earth. At first I was alarmed with how costly everything turned out to be from 3 days stay, surgery, tests and more. But I quickly learned that you're paying for the best here. I would do literally anything to keep him here with me physically without pain but the cancer just took over faster than I could ever imagine possible. My Lucky angel went to heaven on 7/22/18. He's no longer suffering. At RBAH in mount laurel, I got a close inside look at what these surgeons, doctors and technicians/nurses do and see with animals everyday. I know a lot of people want to say that it's a scam and they take your money but it is not. They love animals and they were passionate enough to go to school for a long time so they may possibly be able to save your animal one day. Thank you Dr. Winkler and Dr. Tori Beale. Diana the nurse/technician. LeAnn at the front desk. And the rest of your staff for seeing how special Lucky is & inspiring me to be a Vet. When it comes to those you love- money becomes worthless and you understand what it means to truly love your furr baby's soul. Because of Lucky I found in my heart that i want to go to Veterinary School. RBAH also helped me discover that within me. Thank you. Read Less

My one year old dog, Forrest, recently gave us a scare when he had a suspected allergic reaction after coming in from our yard late Sunday evening.  Within seconds he was paralyzed, drooling, and his gum had turned completely white.  We were in the car within minutes, once on our way I called the hospital to give them a heads up we were coming.  I knew exactly where this location was, because I previously had been there with my older dog for cushings testing.  Once we arrived a tech met us in the lobby and quickly took my dog back while the receptionist gathered all of our information. The doctor came out to let us know his vitals were stable, what they suspected was going on, and to discuss his plan of care (blood work) and the cost of it before doing anything without our consent.  Luckily Forrest stabilized, he received fluids, a Benadryl injection, and a prescription to continue at home. The reception staff and the physician could not have been more pleasant, especially in such a stressful situation.  There was an issue with their Care Credit machine when we went to check out that they could not process our payment, luckily they were able to see we had credit available on the card and allowed us to come back the next day to finalize the payment.  They also did a follow-up phone call 2 days later to see how Forrest was doing.  I am so thankful to have this place close to home, I am not sure what would have happened if we hadn't been able to bring him there for such good service. Unfortunately our experience with the Mount Laurel location was very poor. We brought in our cat as he was having difficulty breathing. He had a previous diagnosis of both cardiomyopathy and liver cancer which we informed the vet of. We were wondering if he perhaps had some amount of fluid and needed an adjustment to his Lasix prescription so he could breathe better. In their initial assessment, they said he had only a scant amount of fluid (specifically not enough they felt they could manually remove it). They suggested keeping him in the hospital overnight on oxygen and they could adjust his Lasix and provided us a quote of $2900 for these services. As it sounded to me like since he didn't have a lot of fluid, he was probably not going to get better, I asked if either (a) we could take him home or (b) we should euthanize him. To that the doctor responded she would not recommend taking him home (reasonable) and that "Most people think that the extra time we can provide them with their pet is worth the cost" (thanks...now I feel like the worst person ever). Needless to say, we agreed to the exorbitant bill. On visiting our cat, the next day, he was wheezing more than when we had brought him in, but his rate of respiration did seem somewhat improved. We left additional medication and food for him.The next day they called to say he was doing well and breathing better and we could bring him home. My husband picked him up around noon and brought him home. At 6PM that night, we took him to our normal vet to euthanize him as he had spent the previous hours wheezing and coughing and crying in our laundry room. Our total bill from Red Bank was $2600+ and they sent our cat home worse than when we brought him in. Thanks for misleading us and charging us an outrageous amount. Read Less

The staff is very friendly and their open 24hrs. After running multiple tests on my dog they were unable to determine what was wrong with her. They did place her on antibiotics which helped her condition. The reason for the 3 star is she was only in overnight and no procedures were done other than testing, IV, antibiotics etc. My bill for this was over $2700.00 which I feel is ridiculous. I know it's an Animal hospital but come on. In my opinion places like this jack the bill up knowing you will pay whatever fee they ask because of the love for your animal. Read Less

The day I took my baby girl to Red Bank was by far one of the best decisions I ever made! I was told by my vet that she had a full ACL tear and needed immediate surgery. I called Red Bank and explained her urgency and they were able to fit us in the next day. We met with the surgeon, Dr.Winkler. I had never met such an honest and caring doctor! He told us that she did NOT need surgery. The first two weeks would be rough but she would get stronger and better each week until she was back to herself again. I was so relieved and impressed with him. The next day she was hurting very bad so I called her vet to hopefully get her on a stronger medication. She advised me to euthanize her!! Saying that her quality of life was so poor and she made me feel as if I was being selfish for letting my dog suffer! I couldn't believe it. I explained what Dr. Winkler had said and that she will recover from this. She still insisted. Well it's been over two weeks and my baby girl is already off pain meds, going to the bathroom with no assistance, taking walks at the park, climbing steps, kicking butt in physical therapy and she's back to her happy care free loving self. Thank God I listened to Dr. Winkler or I might have put my dog down for no good reason! I will not be taking her back to that veterinarian ever again. I cannot thank Red Bank enough for their caring team, their honesty and sincerity. I have also called several times with questions and Dr. Winkler always returned my call within an hour. We had such a great experience here that I feel guiltily not writing a review sooner! A few months ago, our puppy got into prescription medication, had a seizure, and was unresponsive. We rushed her over to Red Bank immediately. We were told that the outcome was not looking great but they would do everything they could to save her. Our puppy had to stay in the hospital for 3 nights, and every few hours the doctors called, gave a full report, and told us what we could expect. We finally got a call that she was responsive and moving her limbs. We rushed in to visit her, and I could not believe how kind all of the staff was not only to my family, but to our puppy as well. They were all huddled around her, some emotional as we finally got to see our puppy again. We were able to take her home later that day. Today, she is 100% back to herself, happy, and healthy. We could not express how thankful we were for not only saving her, but being so emotionally supportive and kind to us. Thank you, Red Bank! Read Less

Dr. Stacy Bartholomew is the most thorough vet I've ever seen. My Maltese was walking strange/limping and whimpering. I brought her to a "local" vet that we usually go to and they told me it was her anal glands which to me sounded ridiculous but who am I to argue. Nonetheless I was back at the same vet the following day because there was no improvement and after 3 unnecessary X-rays they told me she had a luxating patella and she may need surgery. The following day my dog started not going up and down the steps and we went to Red Bank AH in Mt laurel. Dr. Bartholomew did the most through check up I've ever seen. She said that she thorought the dogs discomfort was actually from a neck sprain. She gave us medicine to help ease the pain while my dog recovers from it (just going to take time) and she was absolutely right. My dog is walking normally and not in pain. I'm going to go here from now on. Read Less

I can not even explain how sad this is that this has happened!!!!! There is no less then 1 The place killed a cat that was brought in as a SAM (a Good Samaritan) it was a stray cat that had been around my home for the past months the and half. Very friend appeared to be a lost pet. We have 4 strays that we care for and this one joined in. After coming home from a vacation we discovered it had its face slashed ( as if it was caught in something like a tight fence or metal can) it was not bleeding and had begun healing at the time of discovery. We had been away for 3 weeks. Our pet sitter was feeding outside cats. So while feeding the cat it allowed me to pet it and touch his face. Again very friendly! We asked the SPCA if they did medical but they said go to red bank, we asked a local pet store they said red bank and on the way in we ran into a animal control officer and he said the animal would be fine. This cat was a sweet stray that we would have kept but thought the medical would be to much and after talking with all the people we felt that red bank would fix it up and it would be adopted out. Which would be better than a life outside in our yard. So we signed it in was told they would examine it and that it would be checked for chip. Again this cat was friendly sweet and easy. I was rethinking our decision to leave it so I called to find out about it 5 hours later. Only to be told it was put down!!!!!!!! Killed when I asked why they said it was not friendly and behaving agitated. It had rabies is what I was told. I said wrong cat that it was sweet and not an issue then they said the vet said the cat was lethargic and acting like it had rabies. I again said no way this cat was friendly and fine except it's face on both sides had the cuts. They then said they had the right since it was a SAM and that it was too late and done. This cat had not even meows in the car ride. He let me pet him and other dogs coming over smell Him in the carrier with no issue at all, no hissing, and no growling from the dogs. If he was sick the dogs would have smelled it and growled. Nothing sweet behaved tired injured cat. They killed it because no one was paying them to care for it!!!!!!! This place is all about the money and did not even take the time to talk with me to find out more about the cat. So sad to have made the mistake to trust them to care for the cat and get it adopted out.Read Less

Dr. Trotter has been our vet for over 9 years. It is so obvious how much he loves animals and treats each patient as if they were his own pet. Wed, our Labrador, Harry had surgery to remove a mass on his side. Worried about his age and the effects of anesthesia and his recovery, Dr. Trotter put us at ease and we knew he was in the best and most capable hands. Surgery went well, biopsy was benign and Harry is home recovering. It is a blessing to have such a wonderful facility nearby and to have a vet like Dr. Trotter and his tech Joann. Read Less

HORRIFIC...THEY LET A VET OF 7 MONTHS RUN THE ER ! WHO IN TURN WRITES A NOTE SAYING MY CAT WAS STABLE. RIGHT ! MY 4 YEAR OLD CAT DIED THE NEXT DAY. I HAVE BEEN A REGISTERED NURSE FOR 25 YEARS AND A PARAMEDIC BEFORE THAT....THIS DOCTOR LACKS THE KNOWLEDGE TO ASSESS AND TREAT SEVERELY ILL ANIMALS. IF A PATIENT CAME ACROSS MY CARE REST ASSURE THEY WOULD NOT AND TO DATE HAVE NEVER DIED BECAUSE A PHYSICIAN, NURSE OR VETERINARIAN IS AND SHOULD BE COMPELLED TO SAVE THAT LIFE NOT SEE IF THE OWNER HAS 401K, PORSCHE OR A POCKET OF CASH. A LIFE IS A LIFE INSURANCE OR NOT. MY PATIENT'S GET WHAT IS NECESSARY NOT WHAT THE STAFF THINKS THEY CAN AFFORD. RIP BURGEY........THE LORD WILL DEAL WITH THE INCOMPETENT DR'S ! TAKE YOUR PET SOMEWHERE ELSE !! 1/17/17 I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE PHONE CALL FROM RED BANK AT ALL SINCE THEY LET MY CAT DIE ! NOT ONE CALL ! NO APOLOGY, NO EMPATHY NO NOTHING ! HOPE THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SANCTIONS THE FACILITY AND DR. SHIEDENWOLF BACK TO SCHOOL TO LEARN HOW TO CARE FOR ANIMALS. MY 13 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS ABLE TO SEE THE SMALL BOWEL OBSTRUCTION ON THE X-RAY BUT DR. S TOLD US TO WAIT TILL AFTER 8AM. NO CALLS WERE RECEIVED. Horrific ! 12/17/16 JUST SAW A CAT GET AN ULTRASOUND ON TV...TOOK ALL OF 5 MINUTES ! NO SEDATION ! FAMILY MEMBERS HELD CAT ! TOTAL COST A SQUEEZE OF GEL ! THANKS FOR LETTING OUR CAT DIE ! WE WILL NEVER FORGET ! On the morning of 12/10/16 at 501am I contacted Red Bank about my four year old cat whose vomiting had gotten worse over the past 24 hours. The cat was throwing up biliary secretions. I was instructed to bring our cat in ASAP. We arrived about 30 minutes later and were greeted promptly and cordially. Our cat was weak, not walking well and clearly in pain. I was then told the cost of the initial exam and cost of two abdominal x-rays would be $ 481.00. I agreed and waited. Then Dr. S. called us into the exam room and told my daughter and I that the x-ray would need to be read by a veterinary radiologist who would not be available until after 8:00am. The doctor stated he wanted to give our cat an injection of Cerenia and some NSS for hydration and we could go home. We returned home before 8:00am. Our cat was listless, not drinking and hardly able to walk. I contacted the facility at 12:36pm requesting the results of the x-ray. I was told the doctor was with other patients and she would call me back shortly. At 226pm, after not hearing from Red Barn or any of its doctors, I called again. I was connect with Dr. G who informed me that the medication is making our cat listless and it should resolve in about 24 hours. We stayed with our cat every minute. She appeared to be sleeping comfortably however not eating or drinking with intermittent signs as if something was in her throat. I asked if our cats mouth and/or throat were scoped. The Dr. did not know. We were also told the cats condition was not fatal at this time. The next morning I readied for work. left at 930am kissed my daughter and cat good bye and left. At 1050am I called my daughter to have her check our cat. She went to check her said in disbelief she is not breathing, I told her to shake her a little and my daughter said she is dead ! She's dead! My daughter is 13 years old and our cat was a part us us during a viscous custody battle which left me broke but with FULL custody of my daughter. Animals are an integral part of any home and at times need emergency care but for an EMERGENCY veterinary facility that fails to take the appropriate steps to save any animal regardless of cost should be sanctioned ! I used to work here, and when I did I was always so impressed with the medical quality. It made me feel bad for truly sick animals that went to other hospitals that didn't have the luxury of having advanced diagnostic equipment and specialists present. Because of my experiences with the doctors and techs there, when it became evident that my 1 year old dog would need a neurological consult, I immediately knew exactly where I was going to take her. She went to see Dr. Glass, got an MRI, and thankfully it turned out to be something she was born with and can live with just fine. I do take her for her annuals someplace a bit closer to home (since RBVH is a hike for me), but if she ever needs a specialist or we have an emergency, she will always end up here. Read Less

I've used both the Linwood facility for late at night emergencies, and we have been to Tinton Falls 5 times over the past 6 years to see Dr. Glass, the neurologist. One time was to help my cat, and 4 of those 5 times was to help my dog, who suffers from IVDD, a terrible disk disease that can paralyze and is very painful. This last time, Dr. Glass was able to perform surgery on my boy and help take away the pain from a ruptured disk in his cervical spine. It's only 5 days post-op, but he's already walking and comfortable. Dr. Glass went above and beyond to help my Frenchie, and not just for the MRI and surgery. I cannot say enough good things about their neurology department. Even the front desk staff was amazingly nice and helpful. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is they are expensive, and their answering service is rude.Read Less

Cooper, our 13 year old German Shorthaired Pointer mix that looked more like a Chocolate Lab was a patient here. We are fortunate that we had minimal veterinarian appointments in 13 years as Cooper was a very healthy dog. It was in Cooper's last days that showed us how much Dr. Mary Beth Morgan cared about Cooper, her patient and us, his family. We knew it was time, but needed to get his sisters home from College and Dr. Morgan worked with us and revamped her schedule to fit the small window we had with our daughters home. We knew Cooper would be uncomfortable and out of sorts with a car ride to the hospital and we didn't want his final moments to be in the hospital. Dr. Morgan and one of her team members came to us. We were able to be with him in our home and give him the love and respect he had given us for 13 years. Dr. Morgan explained everything and put us at ease, as much as she could during this difficult time for our family. Cooper left this world with us by his side and with the dignity he so deserved. When Dr. Morgan had pulled up to our house earlier, we noticed her car was one that we used to have and how Cooper loved to stand in the back seat with his front legs on the console so he could stick his head out the sun roof. Before Dr. Morgan drove away with Cooper, she opened the sun roof. Just one more thoughtful gesture that made us smile through the heart ache. Thank you Dr. Morgan. This place is awful. If I could give 0 stars I would. I went here last because my poor dog was sprayed by a skunk. So last night, I took my dog out and while throwing out trash, he ran over to a skunk. I have never actually seen a skunk in my neighborhood but I have heard there are a few around so I didn't realize what it was at first. So after he got sprayed in the face, I panicked and drove him to the old Cherry Hill Red Bank, hoping the new hospital was 24 hour. Nope. I then called Mt Laurel and ask if there was anything closer. Nope. I drove all the way there a and as soon as I walked in, the receptionist made me wait outside. Ok, I get that. We smell, you don't want to stink up the lobby. SHE HAD ME WAITING A HALF AN HOUR OUTSIDE. My dog just got sprayed in the face by a skunk and you made me wait half an hour? Maybe I over reacted about the skunk thing but I've never dealt with a skunk before! At least come and tell me how long it will be! I called AHEAD and you KNEW I WAS COMING. Have a vet come outside and just check his eye or at least tell me that he'll be fine. There was no one else in the waiting area, no other cars in the lot, and no one helping me. I left. I never saw a vet and no one came over to stop me or called to ask how my dog was. I immediately went home and cleaned my dog up. He seems fine but we're still keeping an eye on him.I might have over reacted but I was worried about my dog and I really wanted his eyes checked out. CLEARLY they thought it was not that big of a deal. It would've been much more helpful if they had just calmed me down on the phone and told me to give him a bath, keep an eye on him, and if his eye is irritated then come in. Google told me that. Google was more helpful than this place. Read Less

My dear Maya, a nine year old husky-whippet mix who developed some unusual issues in the past two weeks and I called Red Bank Veterinary Hospital to set up an appointment with Dr. Jenny Scarano, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology).  In the midst of providing intake information, Maya appeared to be having a seizure so I informed them I was coming and hung up the phone.Soon after we were in the Red Bank Veterinary lobby providing intake information when Maya started to have yet another tonic clonic seizure so I alerted the staff who rushed out and took Maya to get a shot of diazepam (valium). We were then taken to an exam room and Dr. Stephanie Wolstenholme, VMD came in to debrief us on what she had discovered.  It appeared to her that Maya was suffering from vestibular disease much as Dr. James Winkler, DVM, MS, DACVS had suggested previously. She was very thorough in her explanation and we were greatly comforted by the information she provided.Dr. Winkler was in the exam room next door as we passed to go to the lobby and he inquired as to Maya's well-being.  I spoke with him, but aware that he was with another patient and family, I kept it brief and moved on to the lobby.Much to my surprise, Dr. Winkler called me as I was on my way home to inquire further about Maya and to see what was going on with her.My experience at Red Bank Veterinary was wonderful.   The staff and Dr. Wolstenholme and Dr. WInkler should be commended for their professionalism, caring, amazing bedside manner and the time they spend explaining procedures, results and providing excellent care for animals. To have veterinarians who have their level of compassion and consideration for worried owners during times of stress is a phenomenal comfort and invaluable. My one other experience at Red Bank was 10 years ago when I had to put my beloved husky-shepherd Pepper down at 3:30 am and that was also the best experience during a horrible time. Seven months ago, I brought my cat Samson to RBVH because I had feared he had a crystal blocking him from going the bathroom and it needed to be surgically removed . Unfortunately my fears were realized and  Dr. Zappacosta told me that my guy needed to have surgery to have this crystal removed. She was very upfront with me about his situation (I caught the blockage early and his bladder was still in good shape) and gave me two option for the surgery. One of the options was to unblock him and keep him overnight on a catheter to make sure he doesn't get blocked again, and the other was to unblock him and leave the catheter on for an hour and then take with home with his prescriptions. The cost difference in these two options was significant (over $1000 difference) and I could not afford to keep him there over night, so I opted to take him home that night.  While the healing process from the UTI was tough on the cat and me, because he needed to pee all the time, I gave my cat the medication and switched to a UTI wet and dry diet for him, and seven months later he has not had an issue since. I felt Dr Zappacosta did an excellent job with Samson, and the followup I received was very professional. She let me know about his bloodwork and checked on his status couple times. I did not have a vet at the time  and she really saved me from what was going to be a bad situation. I feel the cost of the operation was not bad considering it was an emergency surgery and the the quality of the work that was done was very good. Needless to say, she really did an excellent job and I can breath a sigh of relief that Samson has been healthy ever since his visit to RBVH. Hopefully this unblockage surgery is something no pet owner will ever have to go through, but I would recommend RBVH if you are stuck in a bind, or money isn't your main concern. They are really good. Read Less

I was so thankful that I found this place online in a panic last night at 8:30 PM when my little Sadie got some kind of cable wire caught in the back of her mouth around her tooth, which was causing her mouth to bleed and causing her a lot of discomfort. Nothing even remotely bad has ever happened to her before so when this happened I was in such a state of panic and the front desk staff, nurses and doctors were so kind and so good at consoling me, especially the doctor. I wish I could remember her name so I could include it in this review, but she took the time to explain every detail to me and what options Sadie had as far as medication went and a follow up to make sure she healed correctly. I left with a really good feeling from them. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because I found out that any emergency before 8 PM is only $78, where as anything past 8 PM goes all the way up to $140 (and I had gotten there around 8:30). Regardless, I would pay whatever was necessary to ensure that my kitty was safe and healthy, and I had a good experience there. In addition to this, upon telling my mom about what had happened, she told me that this was where she took our family dog, Ricky, when he was attacked by another dog. She said that they were amazing when they brought Ricky in and that they did everything for him possible and he healed great.Read Less

I took my dog to my regular vet with a large lump on his head between his eyes. My regular veterinarian took x-rays and diagnosed my poor dog with bone cancer and the out look was not very good for my poor little buddy. When I returned home I decided I wanted to get a second opinion to confirm what my primary veterinarian had told me. I first called the University of Pennsylvania's Veterinary Hospital. I asked the person who answered the phone if I emailed her my dog's x-rays if she could have one of her doctors look at them and see if I should make an appointment to bring him in. The lady on the phone showed no compassion and said no we don't do that but I could make you an appointment. After hanging up I started to research on the internet where I could take my dog and I remembered a couple my friends telling me about Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. So I called their Cherry Hill facility and had the pleasure of speaking to Angelic. I explained the situation to Angelic and she had me email her the x-rays and told me she would get back to me shortly. After a little over an hour I was phoned by Dr. James T. Winkler, DVM, MS, Veterinarian: Surgery. Dr. Winkler was so compassionate when he spoke to me about my dog, although he confirmed my primary veterinarian's diagnosis he was heartfelt while he explained to me what my dogs outlook was. I felt better after talking to Dr. Winkler because I knew in my heart that I had went that extra mile to try to save my pets life. At no time did I ever feel that these people were worried about nothing but money and they never suggested that I make a needless appointment. Dr. Winkler and Angelic my wife and I thank you for your compassion and I will definitely bring any pets we may have to you in the future. Thanks again. Pete LoMonico Magnolia, NJ Read Less

Pet owner beware! Not cherry hill vet anymore!! No stars for me! Go to garden state animal hospital! I used to go to here when it was cherry hill hospital. Awesome vets. Last experience I had a cat with a infection on his face! I also requested they not treat the cat without me being there! I can hold cat! He is gentle and loving never draws a claw. Without a discussion with me they took my cat in the back room to be weighed! When they brought him back they informed me I can take him home!! They treated cat in the back room! Of which I was very clear on not doing! They also told me I needed to keep cat over night at their facility! I live 2 blocks away! I also had a crate to confine cat! Why pay a hospital bill! This is truly disturbing since it was not life threateningHe had an infection on his cheek?? Just another plot to raise vet bill!! I was furious! The injection of antibiotics they supposedly gave him did not work! I did get my cat treated at another vet and it was perfect! They just opened infection with a small needle and all infection came out! Plus antibiotics were given for a week! Red bank needs to get there act together!!Horrible. We love Dr. Bradley and have generally received very good care since RBVH took over the Cherry Hill location, However, I am very disappointed with them asking for a 60% deposit this morning for my dog's surgery before they would operate on her. We've been going to this location for the past 20 or so years (think Rosenberg days) and our chart is pages upon pages long with multiple dogs (at times 3 dogs under their care), 4 euthanized dogs, multiple hospital stays, thousands upon thousands of dollars in care, and they insulted me this morning by making me pay them $1,300 upfront before they would even operate on her. I can understand that for customers with limited or no history, but I don't walk out of that place with a bill generally less than $250 - $500 and to ask me for a deposit is shameless and insulting to me. Very bad business practice to ask for deposits from your best customers. Really is a shame that they care more about the dollar than your pet. It's all Red Bank big business and shows we're just dollars and cents to them. So might be time to look for a smaller practice that shows more compassion and understanding then simply caring about the almighty dollar and insulting a very good long time customer.UPDATE: I did complain to their customer relations person and she was very apologetic and said they would talk with their ownership and the front desks to use more common sense in these matters. She told me if it was her office she wouldn't have insisted on the deposit when I questioned it because of my being a long standing customer. They also put their money where their mouth was by giving me a customer loyalty discount on the entire surgical bill. My dog just got her cone off and she is very happy. My issue was never about the care my dogs receive. Read Less

I used to think that doctors were doctors to help people, in this case vets were vets to help animals. I was dead wrong. It's all about MONEY. My dog tends to eat things she shouldn't unfortunately and we've already paid Red Bank $4000 to remove a pacifier from her intestines and another $500 for them to do an X-ray and make her vomit after she ate another one. Not only are these prices outrageous, after paying them almost 5K, they wont do anything without guaranteed form of payment. My dog isn't the brightest crayon in the box, but she's just a puppy. This time she decided to eat a baby bottle nipple. They'd rather your pet die than offer some kind of help for free. I can't afford another $4000 for surgery and their response was simply... "sorry... call the AWA". So now I'm supposed to give my dog away because they won't help, even after all of the money we've given them. Avoid this place if you can. They don't care about your pet, just how much is in your wallet. Read Less

We didn't wait that long until the vet came and talked to us of his finding.   In the end, the doctor went over the options on what we can do next and we chose   to put the cat down because there isn't a treatment.  They were Compassion and professional.    The only concern is that I am a little shocked because  they charged 184.00 for level 4 because of Emergency and on top of additional services. Thank goodness for this place! It's open 24/7. However, they don't accept new clients so all new patients must be seen on an emergency basis... aka expensive. We came home from brunch on Sunday and my 6 year old dog, Sophie, was not able to walk and collapsing as she tried to walk over to us, so we knew something was wrong. There wasn't really that long of a wait after we filled out the initial paperwork. The vet tech was very sweet as she took down Sophie's vital information. The wait for the doctor, x-ray and the time it took for them to wrap her leg in a splint didn't seem to take terribly long. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of is that I expressed some concerns about the multiple pain medications they suggested. They explained that it was for different kinds of pain, but I have always been wary about taking too many medications. While she was in the back, they told us that they administered both types of pain medication, as well as an anti-inflammatory medicine, and one of them made her sick. Then they had to administer an anti-nausea. Well...had I not just expressed this type of concern? I'm not a doctor though, so I let it go. RBVH is a little more expensive than our normal vet, but they have an entire staff on hand (surgical, etc.) so we didn't need to go through a referral process, which is more convenient. Read Less

This is a long overdue review for the very kind and skilled staff at this veterinary clinic. I came at night about a year ago because I came home to find my cat acting like he was dying on my porch. The ER doctor he saw, who specialized in trauma in animals, eventually told me that he is just a really dramatic cat who had a scratch (a scratch!) and probably pulled a muscle, and we would never find out how.I came into the place crying, and the receptionist was very nice to me. There was a short wait before we got to the exam room, and then they took my cat away to examine him somewhere else. One of the nurses came back to the room to tell me he would be OK after the preliminary exam, since I was obviously so upset. I really appreciated that.At the end of our wait, the ER doctor came in.  He was SO SWEET, and handsome to boot. He was very cheery about the fact that my cat hates vets and probably made the exam as difficult and dangerous for the vet as possible. He obviously really loves animals, even the obnoxious ones. We had a long wait because my cat was admitted at the same time as another cat who had a real medical problem: he had been hit by a car. The vet actually gave us a discount for waiting patiently! That was great, because one thing this place is not is cheap. The care my cat received here was excellent and thorough, and the people were also very kind to me, the anxious pet guardian. I hope I never have to come here again in the middle of the night, but if I do, I'll will feel confident that my cat is in good hands. Read Less

on mother's day i took my dog to RBVH in mount Laurel.

The Doctor was awesome however I was left feeling as if my dog was going to be fine when in fact that wasn't the case at all. Another words she made me think filling her with fluids and antibiotic was goin to sustain her when in fact she was already too far gone. I had this dog 15 yrs, I never had children this dog was like my baby, I told her to please tell me the truth I didn't want her to suffer however I wanted to do everything possible...She made me believe it was about $ and I needed to find a cheaper Vet, I went to another Vet who wanted to charge me the same amount for surgery but was Honest enough to tell me my dog probably wouldnt survive b/c of her age and if she did it's a very lengthy recovery...She's already in septic shock... I felt like NOTHING this Doctor told me was true or I couldn't trust anything she said... NOTE: I ended up at Regional Vet on the Black Horse Pike in Sewell Read Less

Read Less

Before she would preform any services I had to sign a paper agreeing to the prices. They took my cat to the back and I didnt see him for a few hours.  She was texting and looking at her phone as she was telling us our cat MAY have an internal mass. Recomended  surgery even though she was unsure of diagnosis!  She wanted us  to leave our cat overnight or come back the following day when the radiologist was there. I made an appointment for a ultrasound with a board ceritified internal doctor and got neither and my bill was 1200$. Would not recommend Redbank! I went to northstar and service was a+++. Read Less

We had to take our 7 month old lab pup here emergently after she ingested prescription medication. She was not conscious, in very bad shape. The vet was very honest about her prognosis and up front about how costly the treatment would be. They handled the whole situation so gracefully, never made us feel guilty.

Read Less

When we found out he had cancer on his spine the Dr was straight up forward with us and didn't try to sell us a surgery and give us false hope. With his guidance, we made the difficult snd devastating decision of putting him down. I can't say enough how professional, courteous, and compassionate they all were.

We took our dog here because she got sprayed by a skunk and was foaming and bleeding at the mouth.  I called several 24 Hr Animal Hospitals and the skunk protocol was the same at all of them -- upon arrival, call and a tech will come outside.  The vet & tech came outside and by this time, my dog was no longer foaming at the mouth.  And it turned out the blood was not hers but the skunks.  The vet gave us a recipe to use for a bath & also recommended Nature's Miracle De-Skunk wash.  We stopped at PetSmart on the way home and got 2 bottles (just in case).  Best part -- they didn't even charge me.  Today my dog is fine and it only took 2 baths to get her to smell better again. HORRIFIC !On the morning of 12/10/16 at 501am I contacted Red Bank about my four year old cat whose vomiting had gotten worse over the past 24 hours. The doctor stated he wanted to give our cat an injection of Cerenia and some NSS for hydration and we could go home.We returned home before 8:00am. She's dead!My daughter is 13 years old and our cat was a part us us during a viscous custody battle which left me broke but with FULL custody of my daughter. Animals are an integral part of any home and at times need emergency care but for an EMERGENCY veterinary facility that fails to take the appropriate steps to save any animal regardless of cost should be sanctioned !Red Bank, although your staff is polite and cordial they failed to take the proper steps to save the life of our four year old cat !This is day 2 after the death of my four year old cat at the hands of  Dr. S who was left in charge of the VETERINARY ER after receiving his veterinary license in May 26,  2016.  I can't stop crying thinking of all the pain my cat endured the last day of her life !

This is truly disturbing since it was not life threateningHe had an infection on his cheek?? Just another plot to raise vet bill!! I was furious! The injection of antibiotics they supposedly gave him did not work! I did get my cat treated at another vet and it was perfect! Read Less

Read Less

Today we had to put down our cat because he was having a brain seizer or some kind of blood clot which prevented him from walking and they said he was blind.   When We went to this location ,  they took him right to the back room and examined him while we filled out paperwork. Read Less

During a very difficult time for our family, this facility was extremely efficient, professional and most importantly- very caring. I've never experienced a vet that showed that much empathy toward a pet 'parent'. Dr. Fenimore, in particular, was outstanding on all levels. She and others at this and the Red Bank location were terrific. Read Less

I can't say how thankful I was to have RBVH to go to recently. My cat was unfortunately diagnosed with kidney disease a few months ago and sadly, the day came when I knew she had to be put down. It was a Sunday and my regular vet was closed but they always recommend RBVH so I took my cat in. The front desk team was so caring and compassionate and gave us lots of time with our cat before the procedure. Their tech was very kind as well and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Zappacosta. She was incredibly caring and so compassionate. It was such a hard day for us but they all made easier to get through it. They also sent a lovely card to send their condolences. Thank you, everyone at RBVH - Cherry Hill!

Read Less
