I've been through a plethora of Vets with various animals and this here is hands down the best. They take a very conservative and real approach to treating your dog. No unnecessary fishing expeditions when your pet is sick just a straightforward and honest opinion and recommendation. Dr. Roerig has an excellent bedside manner for the animals and talks to you in a real dialogue so you understand everything. I cannot say enough great things about the staff here especially after they made a house call for me and my family when my 175# mastiff needed to be laid to rest. I didn't want to drag her into a cold office where she despised to be (and frankly we physically really couldn't) and they so lovingly and respectfully came into my home and took care of everything in the most compassionate way. I was beyond grateful for them and will continue to take any pets of mine here even if I moved further. Read Less

We call this our "farm vet" - they will see a variety of pets including our rabbit. You get a straight forward and no-frills (no upsell) for services. The doctors take a conservative approach to treatment, without compromising your pets quality of life. We have had instances where the issue has been more complex or we felt the pets needed more immediate action and have taken them to a specialty vet, but for a first stop, basic assessment and straight up diagnosis, this is always our first choice. Not a full hospital. Don’t risk anything other than vaccinations and flea and tick medication. Dr Roerig is probably fine for most dogs and standard vet care, but his carelessness and dismissive attitude toward my concerns resulted in or contributed to our Pug's death. Prior to a standard dental procedure, I asked about different anesthesia dosages and protocol for this breed and was waved off. I should have researched it more myself and gone with my gut feel because there are special precautions fo pugs per Tufts U and other well trained vets. She in fact did die, almost immediately on receiving the anesthesia. Tufts University has published a gradual process to allow time to react for emergencies and to properly intubate. It was a heart breaking lesson. He tried to claim she had a preexisting condition but had to back track because of the normal result of the blood test....from the blood test I had requested before the procedure, not him. He wasn't even going to give her the test, which other vets require. That should have been my cue to run. Afterward, I saw the room where the procedure is done and there is NO monitoring equipment. It’s NOT a hospital. It’s a place to get your pet weighed and vaccinated. Period. Read Less

Everyone is very nice, including Dr. R, but my mini-poodle almost died after we came for a visit. Went in because she had diarrhea for almost 24 hours. He did a cursory exam, and proclaimed she must have parasites. No fluids or anti-emetics given. Sent me home with antibiotics and a anti-parasitic. Not 2 hours after we got home she began vomiting and was very very ill. I rushed her to the 24-hour emergency vet where she was put on an IV and kept for 2 nights. I just wanted to take a moment to thank Glen Manor Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Roerig for saving my cat yesterday!! This past Sunday, my cat started acting weird and I noticed his tongue sitting differently in his mouth. Over the next few days he started drooling and his breath was becoming terribly foul. I tried looking in his mouth but didn't see anything wrong. I finally decided to call Glen Manor on Wednesday morning. The receptionist/vet tech said that since they didn't have an open appointment available, I could drop my cat off that morning and they'd keep him all day. She said that when the doctor had time between surgeries, he'd examine my cat. They kept me updated all day and I was even able to visit him around lunch time to see if they had an answer. The receptionist/vet tech was beyond accommodating and I felt she sincerely cared about my cat! They said that the doctor's initial exam didn't show anything out of the ordinary but they suggested he stay until later that night and they would pull some blood if necessary. They asked me to call in around 6 that evening for an update. When I called that night, Dr. Roerig got on the phone to let me know the mystery was solved! He said a rubber band (one of the bracelet loom rubber bands) was wrapped around my cats tongue super far down his throat!! It was cutting off circulation to his tongue and actually dug holes into him.. He said it could have been very serious if the band hadn't been found as soon as it did. He still kept my cat over night for observation and to give him antibiotics. I was able to pick him up tonight and my bill was way less than I ever expected!! I could not be more thankful for Dr. Roerig and his amazing staff!!! Thank you so so much!!!Read Less
