Thank you, Dr. Mike, Christine, John and Andrew! You make bringing my Lucy to the vet a pleasant experience, and that's saying something! My girl is happy to see you and stress-free, which is the opposite of how she usually is during check-ups and treatment. Thank you for caring for her as you would your own pet. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything, including what's best for Lucy and me and my family. Your clinic is beautiful and very convenient to get to. Glad I stumbled on this small vet practice. My vet retired and I didn't care for the person she referred me to. My neighbor goes to Haddon Vet and told me to check it out. My two cats needed flea and tick protection and regular check-ups. They fit me in the same day I called. Christine at the front was very nice and so was Dr. Mike. I was in and out in about a half hour...Dr. Mike called me personally the next day to go over their bloodwork, which turned out to be fine. The exam rooms were clean, and nowhere smelled like urine or wet dog (a big complaint of mine from other facilities). And the bill didn't break the bank. Two thumbs up for Haddon Vet. Read Less

Most pets hate going to the vet and as a result, most pet owners don't like it much either. Well, the good experience at Haddon Vet starts when you walk in the door...the clinic smells very clean, and you're immediately greeted by a few friendly chirps from Bert, the resident parakeet, and a welcoming smile from Christine at the front desk. There's no waiting, Dr. Anthony comes out and greets you AND your pet. He's thorough, kind, and answers all your questions until you don't have anymore. I'll never change Vets! Read Less

I've been bringing my babies to Dr. A for over 5 years. I've had pets for the past 30 years and have encountered dozens and dozens of vets. Dr. A is by far the most knowledgeable and compassionate one of all. He recently had to help my 17 year old Yorkie over the Rainbow Bridge, and I was just so impressed how he allowed her to transition with grace and dignity. I am very pleased with Dr Anthony. He shows genuine concern over my Cookie, but he also shows concern for my feelings as well. With some of the frustrating issues going on with my doggie, I need some comfort sometimes too! He listens closely to my concerns, and gives answers and options I understand. He explains things ton me, with out the "just do this" attitude some vets can have. He helps to generate a feeling of calm in me, and I dont feel as hopeless, or helpless. Read Less

The best way to describe this vet is in one word....AWFUL!  Took my diabetic cat here a year ago and Dr. Butler made me drag her back 3 times and was never able to give me an answer as to whether or not her sugar levels were normal.  Made me drop the cat off ALL day for a glucose curve which was extremely inconvenient and frustrating because she never had an answer.  However, I spent nearly $1500 for no answers in a matter of months.  Took my cat again in June and got a call at noon (dropped my cat off at 8am so clearly she was not tended to for 4 hours) and was told that they don't know what to do because my pharmacy provided me with a different sized syringe.  Instead of working with me on a new conversion for the dosage Dr. Butler said I need to drop the dosage and buy the correct syringes from her office which were incredibly expensive.  I collected my cat and got all the records and took her to a new vet.The new vet looked at the records and said performing a glucose curve is not an accurate test for diabetes and cumbersome because you need to drop the cat off all day.  They do not perform that test and perform the fructosamine test which they said is faster and more accurate.   My new vet also stated that we need to start from square one because the records provided by Dr. Butler did not provide ANY meaningful information.  I also discussed the issue with the syringe and they provided me with a conversion to ensure my cat received the correct dosage.Well I am happy to report that my cat's sugar levels were at 500 at my first visit to the new vet and 2 weeks later she is at a 57 so we need to cut the dosage back.  I have seen a HUGE improvement and am glad I made the right decision to take my cat away from the harmful hands of Dr. Butler.  My new vet also complimented me on what a good job I am doing with my cat and how impressed he was with the progress after ONLY 2 weeks. Dr. Butler and her staff are also incredibly difficult to work with when it comes to requesting prescriptions.  She will not provide refills or offer samples if she is suggesting a new food.  I find this incredibly inconvenient as I am not spending money on something my cat won't eat.  My advice is if you have nothing better to do with your money and don't care about your pet Dr. Butler is the vet for you.  If you want answers and doctors that work with you seek another vet. Dr. Butler and her staff are amazing. My pets love everyone their and know their names. She takes the time to listen and answer your questions and does thorough research on your pet ailments in order to get the best treatment. I recommend her to anyone needing a great vet! Read Less

I would recommend Haddon Veterinary Clinic to all pet owners in the area. The staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They are always willing to take extra time to answer questions and assist in any way with concerns about your pets. We have been taking our precious Bugg, Lucy to this clinic for just about 4 years now. We wouldnt patronize any other clinic! Dr. Butler is a wonderful and compassionate doctor and Jonathan & the other staff members are smart and helpful in every capacity! Disregarded specific instructions i provided them from breeder re administration of vaccines. Would not (or forgot) to apply topical flea & tick treatment during visit as i was having trouble doing this on my own. But the treatment was sold to me at a 100% mark-up from online prices.. Guessing that's standard vet practice however. They were extremely nice though. Read Less

I adopted my Golden Retriever Ajay when he was 8. I started taking him to Haddon Vet and they have always been wonderful with him. He loves everyone there especially Jonathan and Katherine. Do not take your pet here! I took my healthy puppy here when we moved to the area last summer and we remained patients for a total of 6 months. In the end, all we did was spend an exorbitant amount of money, and when my puppy hurt his hip at a dog park, there was no one to turn to. I'm have two major issues with the staff and doctor at this office. 1. Cost: Everything is overpriced, and costly procedures, tests and shots and pushed on patients by the staff in a way that makes you feel guilty to say no. I am a (human) doctor, but when I questioned retesting my dog's blood for a disease he already tested negative for, the tech in the office acted like I was a bad pet mom! All I wanted was more information. He acted as though I was choosing money over my dog's health. When my pet developed a limp after an injury, we were instructed to pay $750 for X-rays (3x the amount of X-rays at his new vet!!!). The vet would not (or could not) tell us what she was even looking for with the X-ray. We were repeatedly shamed into spending money without positive impacts on my dog's health. And additionally, I always left the office feeling judged, uncomfortable and unhappy. 2. Quality of Care: With humans, it is only acceptable to order a diagnostic test (like an X-ray) if you know what you are looking to find. When I asked about why we were ordering tests, I was continuously told vague / incorrect information. I am not sure if the doctor was unwilling to discuss the tests and my dog's care with me, or unable to, but her lack of communication made me think that she is uneducated. I realize that I am a high-maintenance pet parents. My knowledge of human medicine makes me just educated enough to ask a ton of questions at every visit, without having any pet medicine knowledge of my own. But I think that this office's unwillingness to take the time to discuss tests and medicines with me in an educated manor says a lot about them. If they refuse to talk to me, I doubt they will take the time to teach patients with no medical knowledge either. After our months with Haddon Heights Vet, I felt cheated and robbed. We found a new, amazing vet who takes care of my puppy and always keeps us informed (Banfield Pet Hospital). I highly recommend against Haddon Heights Vet if you care about your pet and your wallet. This has been the scariest and most unprofessional team of staff I have ever experienced. They actually took my puppy, left me alone in the exam room  for 30 min and when I went looking for her, the staff were playing with her not caring for her!! The doctor insisted on re-vaccinating my little one and had no sense of what she needs, only how they can increase their revenue. I can only hope that this place does what they do best and that is to close their doors. Read Less

Our family has been going to Dr. Butler for the past 2 years. With in those two years I felt very welcomed at thier office. Unfourantly recently our cat who is 3 years old had gotten a urinary tact infection. The office had us take him there twice over this matter and all they told us was he had anixty. Our cat was in pain relieving himself and when he did urinat it was blood or very little dots every where. We did not find out his true isses until we took him to another vet after the office had told us we'd have to bring him in for a third time and be charged again to have him looked at. They not only misdignoused our cat but did services witout or consent. I'm very unhappy with how they are hanlding our situation and I don't want anyone else to go through the pain of watching their fur baby hurt the way our did. Read Less

Dear Bob, We do remember this visit clearly. A gentleman, not a woman, walked in our office claiming to be a veterinarian and wanted us to euthanize a squirrel right away because his office was too far away. Immediately, we recognized something was not right. However, we did offer this man an office call and we did let him know the fee ahead of time for that office call with requested euthanasia, should that be decided upon after the office call. We routinely give estimates for all services requested: we believe it is a forthright practice and our owners have been pleased with this practice. Had this gentleman wanted the office call, we were happy to accommodate him right away even though we had several procedures that afternoon and this was a walk in appointment during the onset of that time. Why is the office call so important? Every veterinarian is acutely aware that euthanasia of any animal, wild or domestic is a responsibility of great magnitude. Each veterinarian is also aware of the responsibility to heal, to relieve suffering, and to protect public health. Public health is often the most difficult of all jobs, because many people believe that handling wild animals, especially ill or injured ones, is an act of kindness. What many do not realize is the serious risk of this practice. Veterinarians are perhaps the most privy to this information. This is why veterinarians with post doctoral training in public health or exotics, wild life rescue groups, county regulated animal control, and other venues work together to handle ill or injured wild animals. An ill or injured animal needs an examination to see if the illness or injury has potential for having transferred disease--or received transfer of disease--involving other animals and people. Veterinarians also recognize that if euthanasia is performed, the veterinarian asked to perform it bears the entire responsibility of this action and its consequences. Moreover, a veterinarian understands that the handling of a wild animal for euthanasia and care of remains are much more convoluted than the euthanasia experience that you have had with a family pet. This is why veterinarians routinely do not pick up wild animals, bring them to another veterinarian's office, potentially expose themselves and an office to health risks, and expect immediate euthanasia. Thus, for such a request as euthanasia on a wild animal, an examination and history is needed. This is where the office call is critical. What if this animal had been able to heal? Would a veterinarian want to euthanize it? What if after its examination, the veterinarian suspected that you might be in danger of being exposed to a life threatening disease? That office call could save your life. Bob, we celebrate it when people show kindness to animals. This is one of the many reasons veterinarians seek out this profession. If you, or this gentleman, wish to continue to seek out aid of animals in the wild, we strongly encourage you to seek out training through a wildlife rescue center, an animal control officer program, or government sponsored program. Since you have had pets yourself, perhaps your current small animal veterinarian would be a resource for you. An office call would allow you to discuss your interests and how they can be safely pursued. It is a worthy effort, but must be done with great caution. Please be safe as you move forward. A good samaritan walks into a vet hospital carrying a dying squirrel he found lying on the sidewalk, obviously suffering.  He asks if the vet clinic can euthanize the suffering creature.  They say they can and proceed to ask for the good samaritan's contact information.  After entering it into the computer, they turn to him and say politely,  "That will be $238.91."  The good samaritin is surprised and shocked - he was just trying to help the poor creature.  They showed him his bill which quoted $50 for the office call (never spoke with or saw the vet) and $175 for euthanasia, along with a medical waste fee....This may sound like the beginning of a bad joke, but it is the EXACT scenario that I experienced today when I brought a dying squirrel to Haddon Heights Veterinary  Clinic.   I had even told them I was going to take the body home to dispose of myself so we weren't even including disposal of the body in this bill.  I was shocked and disgusted and left with the squirrel and brought him to another vet hospital who euthanized the poor animal for free AND took care of the body.  Instead of doing right by this poor, suffering animal and ending it's suffering quickly, they made him stay alive for another hour while I brought him elsewhere to do the 'humane' thing.I understand that vet hospitals need to charge for their services, and I wasn't necessarily expecting it to be free (though I have brought other injured/sick wildlife to other vet clinics (including 24hr emergency hospitals) and NONE of them have charged me anything for euthanizing them), but this charge was beyond disgusting.  I have had several of my own pets euthanized and know that $175 is way beyond the scope of a reasonable charge.  This clinic showed absolutely no compassion or caring to the suffering of a poor, helpless creature.  REAL NICE, GUYS.  Hope you sleep well at night.  You better believe I will be letting anyone in the area know about my experience at your 'clinic.' Dr. Butler and staff are wonderful.  Agree with the other review - only thing wrong is that it's a little pricey but definitely worth it to us to have finally found a vet whose personality assures you that she genuinely cares about what she's doing. Read Less

They helped me nurse my very old cat back to health, and when she passed naturally later on this year, the clinic sent a very heartfelt sympathy card signed by the entire staff. They truly care about their little patients. Read Less
