No more small pet specialist. RIP. Just a very loud and unpleasant woman that gives me directly conflicting information than that of the wonderful woman that used to be there.

9/22/15 I will no longer bring my pets here or recommend this facility. I have been a loyal HAH for over 13 years. For the past few years I have taken my dog for monthly arthritis injections, so I have a clear picture of the changes with this facility. About 3 years ago it was acquired by a corporation when the Shefskis retired. Dr. Robben, Dr. Walker and the original staff continued to work here and were wonderful. In the past 6 months there has been a complete turnover of all staff. Each month there would be new workers; and they dont know what they are doing. There have been several different vets since the beginning of the year and now Dr. Robben has been relieved of her position. They are deceitful and will lead you to believe that Dr. Robben is still there. Dr. Robben was the only reason I continued to bring my pets here. Be advised that this is no longer an individually owned and operated facility. It is run by National Veterinary Associates Inc., not to be confused with American Veterinary Medical Associates (a professional organization for veterinarians.) I contacted the corporation and spoke with Vice President of Operations who passed me along to Bethany Botzenhart, Division Manager. She couldnt refute my complaints. I was assured that Dr. Robben would remain and things would be functioning as well as before. Apparently this company has no problem lying to their clients. 12/10/15 Be cautious with their Paw Plan. After a couple of months I decided to completely pay off the plan and was still charged the next month. It took me 3 weeks of continual calling to get reimbursed. Read Less

I have been bringing my best buddies here for 25 years. I have so much confidence in Dr Robben. Not only is she a brilliant vet but she has always been kind, gentle and caring to my dogs and to me and my family. Even though the office is so outdated it is always clean and rarely do you have to wait too long in a crowded waiting room. The staff is always so sweet also. Read Less

We took our first dog Sammy to Hawthorne Animal Hospital for the better part of 16 years. Sometimes it was for the routine stuff, but towards the end our dog became more and more of a challenge. We always felt that Sammy was getting the best care available right up until the end. They are competent, thorough, reasonable, and above all caring. Now that we have another dog, Lucy, we continue to rely on their expertise for all her medical needs. I highly recommend Hawthorne Animal Hospital to anyone with veterinary needs.Read Less

Worst Vet experience in my life. I have been using this hospital for years and was always satisfied with their service. However, when it came time to put my cat to sleep, they were the most insensitive people I have ever met. My family and I arrived for her appointment a little early to fill out the paper work. My family and I were sent to the room where the procedure would be done. We waited and waited and all the time hearing laughter and giggles coming from the room next door. Finally after 30 minutes of waiting we walked out. When I told them how unprofessional and insensitive they were the Vet could only say "what did we do?" They seem to think it's acceptable to have to wait during such a stressful time and offered no apology. I guess this was to be expected since the Vet felt like they did nothing wrong. One thing to know is this Hospital is not longer privately owned. A corporation now owns them which could account for the number of good Vets that have left this practice.Read Less
