Just a warning Be careful when you bring your loving pet to Arlington dog and cat hospital I had a very traumatic experience with Dr Leary I brought my cat to Arlington dog and cat hospital on April 7th from his symptoms I believed he was constipated it turned out he was Dr Leary treated my cat and he was at the hospital for about a week when I brought him home he was a little lethargic and one of his pores on his left leg was kind of floppy and a little swollen I didn't think much of it I thought maybe it was just sore and swollen from the IV that he was given in weeks to come his left front leg got extremely swollen and he could not walk properly on his foot he was walking on his wrist and it seemed he was getting more lethargic I called Arlington dog and cat hospital to make an appointment to have his leg checked out and also make sure he was okay from the constipation I had to wait 2 weeks for the only open appointment they had which was for August 4th I brought cutie in he was examined buy Dr Leary and Dr Leary called me we'll I was waiting out side the hospital he couldn't say what was wrong with him but he would have to do more tests he explained to me the tests he wanted to do and he would call me within 2 to 3 days with the results so I waited and no phone call from Dr Leary I called on Monday August 8th to find out that Dr Leary was out of the office and wouldn't be back until Wednesday I told the receptionist that my cat is in bad shape and I would like to get the results of the tests that were done on him so she said to me if I would not mind talking to another doctor for the results I said that would be fine with the test that Dr Leary said he was going to do they still didn't know what was wrong with him so the doctor that I spoke to suggested a thyroid test and of course they would call me with the amount that had to be paid for that extra test the next day I received the call from the doctor I spoke to and the thyroid test came back negative she suggested to do some more tests and one of the tests that she mentioned was one that Dr Leary told me he was going to do and it was on the invoice that I paid on August 4th so it made me feel that I was charged for something that was not done and there was no results in his file about that test I believe the doctor that I was speaking to would have told me so I mentioned this to the doctor I was speaking to she got very defensive and said whatever was going on or what I spoke about with Dr Leary is between me and him and that she did not examine cutie so she went on to tell me she would send me an estimate of some more tests to be done to figure out what was wrong with him so on top of the $2500 that was spent on his constipation and the $640 when I brought him back the second time the estimate that was sent I would have had to pay another $840 and just with this being said it turned out I had to have my cat cutie put to sleep he was in such in despair and his front left leg just got worse like it was infected on the inside and started to affect his skin and he was losing his hair on his leg and becoming very red and kind of like blistery when I started washing it down and cleaning it and keeping a bandage on it whatever was coming through his skin had a medicine smell to it so just want to give you all a warning when you take your pet to Arlington dog and cat hospital until this day I still have not heard from Dr Leary and just to add my cat cutie was healthy and active cat he was 22 lb maybe a little overweight but he was a big cat I wish I had the chance to make the decision all over again and not bring him to Arlington dog and cat hospital years ago I had another cat that I brought there I was charged about $1,000 they kept my cat for a couple of days to no prevail they couldn't tell me what was wrong with him and then flat out suggested having him put down and it would cost me another $300 to $400 also want to add makes me wonder if Dr Leary did anything at all when I first brought my cat to Arlington dog and cat hospital for the constipation since the second time when I brought him and he had a charge for a test that he did not do Read Less

I had a great experience at ADCH yesterday. It was my puppy's first visit at the vet since I brought him home. The ladies at the front desk were attentive and kind. The vet techs were great and my puppy seemed comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Hoey was informative and made sure Melo was up to date with his vaccines. As a first time puppy owner, Dr. Hoey provided me with information about grooming and traveling. The price was reasonable. I look forward to bringing Melo back to ADCH when he has to get neutered and will update my review then. Read Less

They were able to get me in the very next day and by the time I finished my paperwork, they were ready to see us. The receptionist and vet tech were friendly and welcoming as was Dr.Hoey. My lab work came back a day early and I was happily surprised that Dr. Hoey was the one to call with the results. She explained everything thoroughly and put my mind at ease. This is a wonderful place to bring your pet. They have parking, which is very convenient. Once you walk in, you are greeted by the staff & put on the list immediately. Your wait is no more than 15 min which is awesome. & finally when you get to see the doctor, she is great, friendly, definitely an animal lover, although I've tooken my dog to other vets & they seemed to be bothered because my dog is really hyper. Not my vet. She's great & knew exactly what was wrong with my baby. I would recommend this place to anyone. Ooh! They also have boarding! Which is awesome if you need to get away. Give it a try! First time bringing my cat Coco to a veterinarian, they couldn't have been more nice and helpful, from the moment I called to set up an appointment, to the the day I arrived at their place and waited literally just minutes, they made this visit easy and comfortable for me and my cat,. I want to thank all the ladies at the hospital for the work they do and the way they do it, from the ladies at the front desk, to the girl who walked us to the examination room and took my cat's weigh temperature and the awesome lady doctor who did the examination and helped me with suggestions for some vaccines my cat needed, a nice team of professionals, thank you all! Excellent experience, great staff, and Dr. Leary is amazing! It happened like this...my regular vet stated Lela (12yr old Corgi) needed an ultrasound for a mass and they don't do the procedure. I googled and called several places until I found Arlington and they were able to get us in that afternoon. Wednesday Dr. Leary does a checkup, Thursday drop off Lela for ultrasound and receive results that she needs her spleen and mass removed. Dr. Leary performed the procedure on Friday, everything went well and I was able to bring her home Saturday afternoon. Received a call on Sunday (when they're closed) from the Dr checking up on her and was told they'll call later next week with the biopsy results. It was a smooth process and I'm glad I found this place. Read Less

Dr. Hoey is caring and professional! I took my cat to Arlington Dog & Cat Hospital for ear infection. Now, I consider that I was lucky that Dr. Hoey saw my cat. Dr. Hoey was very caring and very competent when chose a treatment to treat my cat's infection. Dr. Hoey gave my cat an ear pak and injected him with antibiotics, no other take home medicine needed. My cat was immediately better after seeing Dr. Hoey. Six months later, the infection returned, I took the cat to see Dr. Hoey, she cared about the underline cause of the ear infection. She recommended to see a specialist taking inner ear pictures to figure out what the underline cause of the infection. Dr. Hoey really cared about treating the problem. After seeing the specialist and had pictures taken, I returned to Dr. Hoey for advice. She explained the next steps and further aggressive treatment or conservative treatment. Everything was carefully explained with true care. I am very grateful that I would have Dr. Hoey to be the primary doctor to take care my cat. Thank you, Dr. Hoey. Read Less

My cat Little Bear had a severe blockage due to crystal formation, kidney stones and blood clots in his urethra which was enabling him to go to the bathroom on his own. After taking him to the emergency hospital, I was advised to follow up with his primary veterinarian at Arlington Dog and Cat. Dr. Leary and his staff were quick to diagnose him and explain the proper procedures in which we should move forward with prior to any surgery that may have been needed. As a pet parent it is hard to make some decisions at times and especially when you know your pet is in critical condition. With the education and knowledge from their staff it was easy to trust bear in their hands. He underwent 3 procedures which finally led to a major surgery called perineal urethrostomy within 2 weeks. I am happy to say that Little Bear is finally home and on his road to recovery. I cannot thank the staff enough at Arlington Dog and Cat for their kind compassion and support. I would highly recommend them to all. Thank you from Little Bear and me! Read Less

I took my 11 month kitten to get neutered. 3 days before he got neutered i brought him in to get shots he needed before the procedure could be done.  He was very afraid and kept hissing, the doctor said , just bring him friday and we will do everything the same day.. That drew up a red flag in my head.  Day of procedure,. i brought him home he was super afraid and was doing back flips and landing on his head if i even moved. It drew up another red flag.  Ohh and also no antibiotics or anything i was told were needed for him after the surgery.. 3rd red flag.. Next day he couldnt breathe or eat.  Day two after procedure, He looks worst, now he looks like hes having an asthma attack and hes weak no appetite not even drinking water.  Took him to the doctor , right away he said he has fluid in his lungs.. I dont understand im thinking how does he know if he didnt even take an xray.. i took him to another vet, who said he had a bad heart and lungs and also fluid., after they helped him with antibiotics and medicine , we took him to a heart doctor... he doesnt have much time left to live he said maybe 6 months to a year.. i give him meds every 12 hours and i believe the doctor had something to do with him getting like this. i just believe it in my soul.. Maybe the room was dirty or maybe he threw the cat against the wall when he was sleeping. im hurting right now and really sad to know my kitten is gonna die soon and left with a bill for 4 thousand.. Im grateful to  have such an awesome cat who is a fighter and super friendly. Read Less

He is fearful at the vet and explained this to Dr. Hoey who was rude and barely examined him..had blood work done..Took 2 Days to get results bc Dr was never available and front desk can't give results...ended up having to go to er at 3am to do blood work again and find out he was in advanced kidney failure and suffering..and had to be euthanized.  Arlington didn't have the decency to call with those results immediately....completely unacceptable!! The er was surprised that they didn't pick.up on kidney failure signs as they diagnosed it right away.  The er was wonderful and it was our first time..meanwhile had been with Arlington for many years and this treatment was despicable!!! I've been bringing my dog since we rescued him at 9 weeks and he's just over a year old now. He's my first non fish pet so I've had a lot of questions and the doctors have been really helpful and try to provide the services your pet needs without throwing in services they won't. We've discussed vaccines that are right for my dog and our lifestyle, a good age to neuter (even though it meant I canceled my appointment within the week to reschedule months later/and they call you throughout the procedure so you're not guessing if your dog is okay for the day and a half you're not there with them), what to expect and medicines to give at different life stages, and even really good over the phone advice. I can't compare them to any other vet office, but my dog LOVES going to see everyone there and they're always happy to answer all my questions (even really basic ones). Read Less

I have to give the disclaimer that this veterinary clinic is receiving this poor review based on their FRONT DESK staff only.  Dr. Hoey, who saw our puppy was great! Very warm, kind and patient with good suggestions.  This facility came to me as a recommendation, so I traveled from Hoboken to the clinic in rush hour traffic for my dog's first visit.  I was underwhelmed with the reception I received from the two women at the desk.  There was no initial greeting even though they weren't busy and made me awkwardly stand there until they decided to acknowledge me.  I told them I was here for a 6:10 pm appointment (they had told me to come in at 6 pm to fill out 1 page of paperwork, however due to the flooding, traffic and getting lost I didn't make it in early) and the extremely sour and rude receptionist made a snarky comment about how "Actually your appointment was at 6".  She shoved some paperwork for me to fill out and disappeared.  After filling out the paperwork I went to the front desk to drop it off and the rude girl wasn't there.  The other woman ignored me so I came back down and sat down and waited.  Finally a vet tech came to take my dog's weight and ask me a few questions.  She was abnormally cold for a veterinary technician and seemed more put out to be dealing with a fifty pound puppy than happy to see a new face at the clinic.  She took me into a room and asked me a few questions:  "Did you bring a stool sample?".  (Was I supposed too?  No one said too!).  She didn't seem to be interested or warm to the dog, I was glad the Dr. Hoey came into meet us without her.  While she wasn't rude she wasn't engaged in the process and seem to have a sour attitude as well. The vet was great and nice and after the appointment asked us to go to the front desk to check out.  We went to the front desk and I said "Hi!" to the women to which my greeting was completely ignored and went unacknowledged.  My boyfriend and I stood there for five minutes just waiting (hoping they were checking us out?) as they didn't acknowledge us or talk to us.  The rude one made some joke to her friend and they laughed a bit but never once talked to us.  Finally she shoved a bill at me to sign after my boyfriend asked me basically what was going on as we were standing there being ignored with no instructions or directions.  I was extremely close to just walking out on those horrible people.Bottom line is the staff that I dealt with (except for Dr. Hoey- again great!) was horrible and left a terrible taste in my mouth.  I decided I wouldn't go back because driving 25 minutes to be treated like that isn't worth it.  Hopefully this clinic gets rid of the nasty staff that can really bring a business down. I am generally happy with this place. The only issue we had was when we got our second cat spayed. I had had the older cat spayed at a different vet, where they used conventional stitches and automatically provided us with antibiotics to administer to the cat once she got home included in the price of the spay. Arlington used the kind of stitches that disappear on their own and did not provide antibiotics. Within a few days the wound opened up and we had to bring her back in and pay additional for antibiotics. Aside from that, the staff here is generally friendly, the waiting area is comfortable and clean, and the doctors seem good. I don't feel as much like they're trying to get me to spend lots of money that I don't have as I have at other vets, and thus I definitely trust them more than such other places. They will fit you in for an appointment the day of if your pet is having some kind of issue suddenly. Will keep bringing our cats here unless we move. Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

Read Less
