My son took our dog yesterday because she was having trouble walking. The staff and the doctor were great with Chloe. The doctor quickly determined the problem and corrected it. I'm not usually someone who writes reviews good or bad but I felt like I should in this case. We took our dog to VCA this past Friday for a split nail. My wife and I thought maybe they would trim and treat the damaged nail. Almost immediately the dr. was talking toe tumor! They did nothing on Friday except give us antibiotics. They wanted us back so they could put her under to trim the nail and take X-rays. Depending on X-ray results they said they might have to amputate the toe for a biopsy. We were just blown away!! Fridays visit was $110 and who knows what all the other stuff would of cost. We got a 2nd opinion. The new dr trimmed the nail (without anastesia) and all the rest of her nails while he was at it. $60!!!! We have felt like we've been getting ripped off for a while now but actually had no idea how bad. The dr. went right to the worst case scenario, the most expensive scenario and scared the hell out of my wife and I. Shame on you guys for playing with our emotions. High probability of commission based vets. If they were smart enough to be practicing physicians and you had a headache the betting line is you would have brain surgery first before taking 2 Tylenols. The perfect storm. Commission vets + customers that can't talk(dog) + an unknowing customer who can't ask questions = A huge unnecessary vet bill. You take an oath. Pry on peoples fears and emotions. A Place that truly cares about you and your pet!!!! My cat threw up a worm one evening and I've never been so worried about him. I called several Vets to find out what to do and was simply told to bring my cat in to determine the problem. When I called VCA Maple Shade it was a completely different experience. The staff assured me everything would be ok, gave me helpful info over the phone, and were able to book me an appointment within the hour. ALL of the staff were so pleasant, friendly, and courteous, and I could tell; truly animal lovers. They told me about a coupon online for a free visit for new customers which saved me money, and they had my kitty in and out within a half an hour. Their prices were very reasonable and service very quick. They gave my little Laddie his medicine right there since I was worried about trying to give him an oral pill at home, treated him with so much love and care, and gave us such great advice for his home treatment. Even more, my fiancé and I had just moved here and had to bring my cat in via a laundry basket since Laddie outgrew his and we couldn't afford one around the holidays; well, they gave us a FREE cat carrier to keep! WOW that is AMAZING SERVICE! I was truly blown away from this experience and have already recommended this place to all of my family and friends. Unfortunately, we are moving on also. For all the same reasons you see in the other reviews. Since it became VCA it's just not the same, and the pricing is outrageous now. Cinnaminson Animal Hospital was 1/3 of the price we were quoted at VCA for our pets dental work . And the staff was super friendly/helpful/caring. That's where we will be going now. Read Less
