The entire staff doted on our cat when we brought him there and he got excellent care. Our puppy is a new "patient" there and we are very pleased with her care.

One of the best experiences I have had with a VET in 50 years. My Cane Corso is a six year old 150 pound female and much more aggressive that she should be. She had a spot on her neck the size of a quarter oozing fluid. I have been unhappy with a local VET here in Matawan, NJ that she has seen for years so I called Marlboro Animal Hospital. They could not have been better they took the dog in immediately the dog was comfortable, the VETS were great. The wound could be a hot spot or a bite, we were given antibiotics, detailed instructions and made to feel reassured. Forty eight hours later VET called to check on my dog, I don't remember any other VET doing that in 50 years of dog ownership, they are great. (June 4, 2015) Read Less

First let me say that I have never taken the time to write a review for anything, ever. With that being said, I would with all my being advise anyone to STAY AWAY FROM KELLY O'CONNOR at Marlboro Animal Hospital. I used her for the last 5 years and used to think as the other reviews said that she was very compassionate. The last few times she was cold and seemed inconvenienced. I would wait weeks for an appointment and an emergency appointment is never available. Finally, when I showed up with my 21 year old cat dying, she said she would go set it up and took her gym bag off her shoulder- she had obviously just arrived. Once I got in the room she told me she didn't have the time to do it right because she had surgeries to do. (She just got there. How much could she have been involved in??) I was caught so off guard that any vet would suggest such a thing. I was already crying and felt so rushed and pressured to hurry up and decide I was unable to think of where else to take her and allowed her to proceed. She and an assistant restrained & held down my geriatric cat, skipped the sedative & pain reliever and immediately injected the euthanasia solution. My poor cat fought, cried and was aware the whole time. I was unable to hold her or comfort her until they gave me her lifeless body. As soon as it was over I noticed O'Conner had left the room at some point without saying a word. I never saw her again. The inhumane euthanasia which caused overwhelming grief and guilt the kinds of which I will NEVER get over. I am disgusted at her lack of compassion and behavior. When it was time to leave, I requested that she not be left alone on the cold metal table. The receptionist/tech said she would not leave her alone and told me to go to the front desk. She then proceeded to spend 10 minutes taking payments and telling me how she does rescue and has show cats. I really didn't care how many of her cats were commercials!! The insensitivity she also showed made the experience even worse. In 35 years, having over a dozen vets in different places, I have never been so appalled. I have put 4 cats to sleep in 15 years and never has the experience been so traumatic and devastating. If you are thinking of dismissing this as a distraught pet owner, don't. I wasn't alone in the room. I had a friend who does not even like animals take me and she also cried and felt like it was a horrible experience and that the way it was done seemed wrong. She had to take rush me to an emergency clinic I was so upset I couldn't breathe for over 2 hours after. However, Dr. O'Connor was sure to charge full price when she used only half the medication.
