Let's be clear here, this is not a discount place usually (though there are discount nights) but the place is well run, very clean and obviously they love animals. I love the receptionist who treats my cats like the princes they are. On the most recent visit he assisted the vet to hold one of my cats during an injection/examination and he calmed the nervous Mr Peppermint (not easy!). It is an efficient and well set up small office. They follow up with phone calls to update me on my cats test results, and explain clearly. They are a sweet team of people who seem to be working well together to make the experience good for a nervous cat owner like myself. The place does not seem "clinical" but is a nicely appointed more home like environment. Read Less

I got this recommendation after reading other negative reviews about this practice and it was the best advice ever. Read Less

Love, love, love this vet! I've taken 3 of my pets here (1 who is recently deceased from old age) and I've only had good experiences for six years. I love the 2 women at the front desk who always have great training tips, tasty treats, and put up with my 2 dogs. Dr. Nesvold has been in business for more than 40 years. That's crazy!! I don't think there's anything she hasn't seen. She was amazing with 1 of my dogs when she developed a build up of fluid in her elbow. Our previous vet in Bergen County was unable to fix her problem but the vet here did a fantastic job and she has had no problems since. It was a long and emotional 3 weeks of treatment for my dog and they helped me through every step of it. They are the best in all of Morristown. I wouldn't go anywhere else! Read Less

Why isn't zero stars an option? Stay the hell away. Our dog went lame and we took him to see Libby Nesvold. She took an X-ray and said nothing looked out of the ordinary and barely even touched his leg, just prescribed anti-inflammatories. After no improvement she changed to a different anti-inflammatory. Lameness got a lot worse. Took the original X-ray to a new vet for another opinion and he immediately said that's bone cancer and let us look at the X ray. We could tell Immediately from the X-Ray that it was a major issue ourselves. Bone was black and hollow and irregular around the edge. Completely obvious and we are far from a trained vet!!! Third vet said exactly the same thing and our dog had to have his leg amputated immediately as the bone was so badly diseased it was in immediate danger of fracturing in half. She fleeced us out of $1,000 between X rays, needless visits and useless medication. Our dog was completely misdiagnosed and went through three weeks of agony for absolutely nothing. I repeat... Stay the hell away.... She is only interested in your money, not your pet. We recommend Community Animal Hospital in Morris Plains. Read Less

This will be the most expensive vet that you ever take your pet to. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE
I dont know how I could possibly rate this location poorly enough. I brought my seemingly healthy cat to them and asked questions exhaustively. I asked about her weight, dietary changes, energy/lethargy, behavior...quite literally everything I could think of. This lazy vet brushed off every question, assured me she was perfectly healthy and rushed us out the door. My cat died about one month later from massive liver and kidney failure that had been getting progressively worse for some time. When we ran blood tests on her at the animal hospital, they advised she would need to but put down because her levels were very bad and treatments would likely be ineffective at this point. The 2nd vet, at the animal hospital, accurately described the cat's condition without even running the blood tests, and moreover, seemed to care. That cat was a family member to us and I waited months before writing this review so I could objectively articulate the spectacular failure of Washington Street Veterinary Service.

I recently adopted a puppy. While I was satisfied with the vet I had used in the past, her office is located a 20 minute drive away. Since I live in Morristown, I decided to give Washington Street Veterinary Services a try. I had to take my puppy there several times for all his shots and every time the office staff and Dr. Nesvold were very caring, courteous, and showed deep affection towards my dog. The cost for the care received was about average. I am very happy with the services at this office and will continue using Dr. Nesvold as my veterinarian. Read Less

I am been involved in several animal rescue groups and have had my own pets for well over 30 years. As such, I have seen my fair share of vets and clinics. I recently went to Libby Nesvold due to her close proximity to my home and am very disappointed with her services. While the staff is friendly, Nesvold's aloofness and lack of professionism is very disconcerting. This clinic has since received a ""not recommended"" rating for these rescue groups. I will also not take any of my pets there ever again - there are much better choices available. Read Less
