My Bella was hit by a car.😢I took her there. The doctor was extremely kind and gentle. She didn’t rush me for extra unnecessary test. I took Bella back to make sure she was ok and Dr. Michael act in the same as the first doctor, kind gentle and honest. They could said she needs a lot of X-rays, test or whatever to make extra money but they didn’t I thought that since is an emergency hospital would be very expensive. OAH is without exception the best place you could possibly bring your pet. They are caring, compassionate, and have specialists in every category you could imagine. Some people complain about the price but you are getting the best care you could get for your baby and that is the main thing because your pets are priceless. Oradell Animal Hospital is one of the best facilities to bring your pet. Unfortunately I have had to bring my dogs here for an emergency and for a chronic illness. Unfortunately, zero stars was not an option. Took my dog here awhile back. Dr. Sartor (why she is still practicing is a mystery to me) told me my dog needed to be euthanized. I told her i would be right there, I didn't want my dog to feel abandoned during the process. Sartor told me it didn't matter, dogs have no feelings. (Really, she said that!) On arrival, my dog trotted out of the back room to great me. I paid our bill. We left. The dog jumped in the car. We went home, and she lived another 6 years! Shame on you Oradell. I recently took my sick rabbit to Oradell in the middle of the night. I was greeted by 2 friendly women at the front desk who promptly took my pet's information and a tech quickly came to take my rabbit to the vet for examination. Unfortunately, my rabbit was very ill and I had to make a difficult choice to either try to stabilize him (prognosis was poor to guarded) or euthanize him. Dr. Moya was fantastic! She fully explained the difficult situation to me, gave me my opti...ons, worked up an estimate in case I wanted to try to stabilize him, and gave me time to call my husband to discuss everything several times. She was SO patient with me as I asked a lot of questions and I never once felt rushed to make a decision. I opted to let my rabbit go peacefully and Dr. Moya showed so much compassion during the process. My heart was breaking, but Dr. Moya was so comforting to both me and my rabbit. I have never felt so moved to write a review before in my life. Dr. DeSanto and the entire staff were beyond amazing. Our dog recently had to be laid to rest and we were shown more care and respect here than we were in the hospital for our recent passed family members. Their concern and condolences, their patience and utmost professionalism. Answering all of our questions and never once making us feel rushed. Thank you to all the doctors staff who worked tirelessly day and night to try to save our beagle shepherd mix dog named Sheba. Outstanding! I had been avoiding Oradell Animal Hospital for years based on all the bad reviews I have come across. But several veterinarian doctors and vet techs that I respect encouraged me to go for my cats PU surgery. Wow!!! What an amazing experience. It is definitely a HUGE clinic, but everyone I spoke to on the phone and in person gave their personal touch to make it feel like a very personalized experience. During the course of our stay, I met with three doctors and they all were wonderful, patient with questions, didn't rush us, and heard our concerns. Even the vet techs and front desk staff were caring, kind and every single one of them addressed my cat by his name and spoke with him. I also thought the cost of his surgery was reasonable. After a month of misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis by my local Vet, I showed up on the doorstep of oradell hospital with a jaundice dog in liver failure. I will never forget the compassion that Dr Lucy showed me and Moose when he told me Moose's correct diagnosis of Lymphoma. His patience , his hugs , his reassurance as I handed over my near dead dog to his keeping for the night. As evening approached , I received a phone call from Dr Lucy to update me and reassure me t...hat all was going well. First thing in the morning, I received a phone call from the oncologist, Dr Bailey to update me and set a time for pick up. Why am I writing about those phone calls, because Its the little things that matter - they called and updated me before I needed to call them. It made me feel that they cared, and were thoughtful enough to alleviate my worry. At Pick-up appointment-My dog was back ! Happy , jumping, tail wagging, and not a swollen lymph node to be seen! They saved My Moose Man!!! Now we are on the frequent flyer plan, chemo weekly , 6 month protocol . Amazingly, my dog who hates vet offices and tries to jump out windows , sits patiently in the waiting room and leaves me with a wagging tail as he goes off with his favorite vet tech , Rachel. Oradell is an impressive hospital and offers many specialities. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Dr.Heather Troyer was extremely nice and sympathetic. She spent a good deal of time listening and asking questions while evaluating my dog's problem. She is conservative in her approach yet seems very knowledgeable and maps out a sensible plan of care... My 2 year 9 month cat... she had full dental extraction.... she had stage 4 peridontal disease... missing 3 teeth and severe and mild bone loss in several teeth. They did help my sick kitty and he is doing better! Everyone was very pleasant. However, when we initially got to the hospital at 11pm- their x-ray machine wasn't working! This is an emergency hospital - how does your x-ray machine not work!? In retrospect, we probably should have went elsewhere but we were in a panic and my cat was all ready there being looked at. Also, I am a bit disappointed by their breaks in communication between their departments. When I picked up my cat from the hospital I was told I had to go back for a check up in 10-14 days. When I called to make an appointment they asked why I was making an appointment - (I would think they have a record of this). Eventually the receptionist said 'oh yes, to get his stitches out'. At the follow up appointment the vet told me the stitches were disolveable and didn't even check him out otherwise. Considering I spent over $5000 I would think they would know if my cat was given dissolvable stitches or not; AND they could have gave my cat a quick 2 minute check up. Read Less

Friendly, caring, updating phone calls, prompt service, up front on pricing and I could go on. One of the reason I'm writing this review is my dog had surgery 3 months ago as well, almost exactly the same surgery but on another leg and the experience was a nightmare. Took my cat for an emergency jaw surgery. After spending 2 hours of waiting we were able to get him admitted and paid for a deposit on his surgery. As we were leaving the hospital we got stopped by the doctor we spoke with, waited another 2 hours to speak to her only to be told that they can't do the surgery there. Had to go to a hospital an hour and half away for it (fantastic service at the next vet, no problems there). Now they're trying to double bill me for the emergency room visit, and I was put on hold about 6 times. Their billing office never picks up, just goes straight to voicemail. Ridiculous. Best part of the experience was the referral to the next vet and the very sympathetic doctor. Read Less

This hospital has the best doctors in Bergen County, if have a pet, you owe it to them to get the best care. When our cat was diagnosed with kidney disease and a tumor growing around the kidneys, Oradell saved his life and prolonged it for many more years. He's now 17! There are ALWAYS here and they have specialists available and complete testing/surgery facilities. There are too many regular vets calling themselves "animal hospitals". Oradell Animal Hospital is a local Veterinary hospital that can match talents and services with ANY major University Veterinary Hospital. My Maxim's issue was diagnosed at 7 months age and I truly believe this early diagnosis saved his life. He is going to be 7 years old April '17, and while needing constant medical management (daily medicines), Maxim's quality of life equals that of a 'normal' cat. Have been going to Oradell for many years with my pets, but only for emergency situations and price-wise it is (obviously) much better to use a regular Vet. They are a top-notch 24 hr. Emergency facility and are priced accordingly, so this is to be expected, but I would like to add that they have always been up front and honest and done their very best to work with us in spite of our financial limitations. They have always been some of the most wonderful, caring and compassionate Vets/staff I have ever dealt with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for emergency situations ! I cannot say enough good things about Oradell Animal Hospital and my personal Vet there Dr. Boren. I switched to Oradell fully 11 years ago when I got my then newest dog Grace a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and never looked back. I since got a deaf Boston Terrier (Cupcake) who feels like at home when she or her sister have to go there to see their vet or when I had to board them the one time. No sticker shock like people have been known to claim has been my experience ever there. In fact I have my old bills that I paid to another local vet who charged more and that was 11 years ago for a different dog. See I do my homework but it wasn't about price it is about having doctors with my pets files 24 X 7. Oradell has saved my Corgi after she ate my moms heart medication and treated my deaf dog with kit gloves as she is very sensitive to strange surroundings.Read Less

Although they weren't able to save my little ferret, Ruby, they were open on Labor Day and were able to receive us immediately. They did the best they could and when their best wasn't enough, they allowed us plenty of time with Ruby before we had to say goodbye and let her go for her final sleep. They did an awesome paw print (actually they did all 4 because her paws were so little) that we took home with us to remind us of the little feet that once roamed our home. It's wonderful to have a place to go when your panicking and out of your mind because your pet is seriously ill.
