Pennsauken Animal Hospital And Urgent Care

I've been into the office twice since it's re-opening, once with my dad's cats, and once with my own pup. Both times, Dr Ana was extremely thorough, patient, and kind. I am SO glad I didn't find a new vet after Dr. Rippie's passing. I was worried that Pennsauken Animal Hospital just wouldn't be the same without him, but it really is. I think he would be very happy with it. I'll definitely be continuing to bring my 3 dogs in! Read Less

First of all, I am totally new to this animal world! I have never had a pet. So when I needed to get my new baby vaccinated.. I totally freaked out!!!! I anxiously googled Vets near me and got so many different options. So for some reason I called one , not Pennsauken Animal hospital, and made an appointment. But the next day I didn't feel right with my decision to go with that place. Sooooo, I put a question out there on Facebook for suggestions on a good vet. Well, of course there were many different options but one suggestion that kept repeating was Pennsauken Animal Hospital! Not sure why, but it felt right to me and I made an appointment for the next day. I am so glad I did!!!!! From the time we came in the receptionist Genn greeted us with a bright smile. Chris was our nurse and he was so gentle and friendly to our baby. Dr. Anna was ABSOLUTELY amazing!!!!! She really took her time to explain everything to me and my family! She was patient with us and all of our questions, and we had a lot!!! I feel so glad I asked the question! Pennsauken Animal Hospital is amazing, it's clean and everyone there loves what they do. Sidenote: Dr. Anna is a native Spanish speaker! What a blessing, because my husband feels more comfortable speaking in Spanish. I highly recommend Pennsauken Animal Hospital!! Long-time customer with multiple animals. The renovated facility is fantastic. The staff is wonderful and they have very accommodating hours of operation. They gave my dog tons of attention and took the time to explain everything they were doing and make recommendations for the future. Great experience! Read Less

Rocco and I visited this amazing hospital for his annual visit this past weekend after the hunt for a great vet. The staff is so compassionate, you can tell they love their jobs. The doctor was very thorough and extremely informative. We look forward to visiting again and seeing how awesome it looks after the renovations are complete. Read Less

I'm excited that the hospital will be re-opening.  I've seen Dr. Torre at his other practice and he's very informative and provides all the options without being pushy.  The staff is very friendly and always helpful.  I can't wait to bring my cats to Pennsauken. Read Less

For the last 8 years the hospital has been charging me $385.00to have my cat (jiggles) hair cut Ithought that was a lot of money but I was informed that was the lowest price.Come to find out that just wasn't true. Now I get it cut for &100.00 Read Less

I  had the WORST experience and will NEVER go back to that place. Bunch of idiots. Anyways, I have a 1year old cat, and she broke her arm. So I take her to this place, and they bandage her up(which I could have done myself) and they tell me she needs surgery,(which they don't even do surgeries there, wtf?!) she's gonna have to stay overnight at the place that does surgeries and it's going to cost me thousands. At thispoint I'm in tears, and while this emergency was so unexpected, I had little money. So their "associates" begin to talk about me in the back, and not only that, the receptionist kept questioning me if I had talked to the doctor about my no money situation...as if I had to....I flipped on her and said He ddnt talk to Me about it!!! They LITERALLY acted like this never happened before, made me feel like the poorest lowest person ever. When I got to the great place that I always go to now, they fixed my cat,they reassured me, and told me my baby was so young they didn't wouldn't even think of surgery. I WILL NEVER take my baby to pennsauken EVER AGAIN, that place needs to be shut down. Protect your animals everyone. Stay FAR away from that place. Read Less

Took one of our cats on the weekend for a wound. Office was busy but we received great care and a very sweet young girl (tech)explained everything to us regarding her care at home and how to best treat wound. My cat is doing very well now and I appreciate the time and advice! I would recommend this vet to anyone. Read Less

** NEVER GO THERE.  TWICE THIS YEAR DR RIPPIE HARMED MY ANIMALS WITH VACCINES I SPECIFICALLY TOLD HIM NOT TO GIVE**Last fall I brought a young kitten with Cerebellar Hypoplasia to this vet for an infection.  He was stray and had a serious calicivirus.  Being in rescue for years I know that a CH kitten with an infection at this young age should have been allowed to heal first.  I specifically told Dr. Rippie - DO NOT VACCINATE HIM I WILL BRING HIM BACK NEXT WEEK - three times.  The kitten was coughing, had discharge and inflammation throughout his resp system, and a high fever.  Dr Rippie stepped out of the room and came back a few minutes later with a syringe and gave my kitten the FVRCP vaccine despite my clear and repeated instructions not to.  My kittens fever skyrocketed that night and his motor skills went out the window.  He laid in a bed unable to move for 2 days and I had to take him to another vet for treatment. Recent a family emergency demanded that we board our puppy. She had already had the distemper, rabies, etc shots but needed a bordetella.  I specified this and he gave her everything but.  My puppy hallucinated and barked for a week straight.  Google the neurological/psychological effects of having a puppy over vaccinated and it will show aggression and mental instability as a side effect.He's not even the worst this place has to offer.  Thinking perhaps DDr. Dubin, one of the doctors, might be okay, I took a cat there.  He is a bit of a quack and all too happy to do surgery unneccesarily.  I took a polydactyl cat there who had standard poldactylysm ... one thumb on each hand, no real complicating factors... for a simple wound on her foot, far away from the thumb.  The doctor said he would have to amputate the thumb to treat the wound.  He also said he would amputate the extra digit from the other hand too, for no good reason.  He said he always removes polydactyl thumbs.  I took her for a second opinion and was told it was completely  unneccessary and absolutely should not be done.  After a round of CLAVAMOX, Noni is perfectly healthy and still has all her digits.  This vet was very checked out, and talking in a dazed out voice the whole time he "examined" my pet.. which consisted of looking at the paws and making little noises.  He never listened to her heart, checked her other vitals or did anything else you should do with an infection.  He didn't even prescribe antibiotics, just pressured me to set up the surgery  "in a week or so" ... leaving ample time for unmedicated infection to travel to her blood. The only person in this place who has a moment to spare or a friendly word is the receptionist.  I don't know her name but she is very nice, and I thank her for her compassion toward both of my cats. As as first time customer, first impressions are everything. While we were waiting, at least two other clients who were picking up dogs that were being treated, were handed back their dog without any explanation of treatment or charges and no offer to speak with the doctor about it. They had to ask what they had done, given their dogs & to speak with someone about it. The Dr. we saw couldnt tell me what a specific shot was for (which he wanted to administer to my cats), or how much it costs. He also couldnt tell me what the average caloric intake should be for my cats. They were understaffed that night so they had a vet assistant filling in at the reception desk. We simply asked if they were understaffed & mentioned that they seemed a bit unorganized and the reaction was as if we completely insulted her personally. After that point the service was curt & completely unprofessional. We heard her say to her colleagues, "they can just wait for their bill". She then came back out, took another customer in, and told us to "have a seat, it'll be a little while". When I responded, "what does a little while mean" she completely ignored me. We calmly called her out on her actions, the responce was that we were "irate" & she "doesnt have to deal with us". She then walked away & got one of her coworkers to check us out.
