They used to offer great care for my dog, but their service quickly went downhill in the last three years after they renovated their business. Older Dr. Zaccheo is still wonderful, and so the last vet--I fail to remember her name--I saw. However, his staff at the desk was less than helpful about arranging a payment plan for my recent service. We discussed about it before the treatment, but she didn't seem to make a note of it in my dog's file; I had to remind her about it, and she had to call their business manager to confirm it. What even shocked me was that she didn't seem to want to bother reconfiguring the payment plan when the final bill came under the estimate. Took my kitten in to get neutered and was quoted a price earlier in the week, was called to be informed one of my kittens testicles hadn’t descended to where it was supposed to be and was told an obviously higher price over the phone later the same day which was a little shocking & made me nervous about them cutting into my babies abdomen, when I went to pick up my fur baby around 6 pm I was very pleased to find that the vet Dr. Maria had kept true to her word that if she didn’t have to cut into his abdomen it wouldn’t be the higher price she quoted me on the phone earlier in the day. We're fortunate enough to have a healthy pup, but he gets excellent care for his routine check ups, vaccinations and care. We always trust his instincts and he loves everyone he's come in contact with. He's so relaxed and goes along with whatever they need to do. I feel like I've always gotten quality care with them. They have great vets and great techs who are very good with my extreme scaredy-cat. They could really work on their checkout system... I always seem to wait a long time, even when I'm just picking up medicine. She took time out of her already full schedule to discuss options and she listened to my concerns. I thought they were exceptional for a few years, but, like another reviewer mentioned, they went downhill after they went through a renovation.  Dr. Zaccheo was great, but the other vets seem to be more interested in keeping my pet medicated than anything.  They also became so disorganized that they could never had the medication ready whenever I called it in with more than a 24-hour notice.  I came to this vets because I got ripped off by another vet with a lackluster service in the area.  It's a shame to see another animal hospital become more of a business, which seems to be a trend these days. I am so happy to have found Warren Animal Hospital. I'm extremely picky about vets and have been to so many to try to find one i'm happy with. I finally found it. From the receptions to the techs to the doctors everyone is extremely helpful. The techs and doctors make me feel like my dog is being properly checked out. Dr. Nicole went above and beyond to fit me in when I didn't have an appointment when my dog was having an issue. Dr. Amber performed surgery on my dog and also went above and beyond. This is a very high quality facility with excellent veterinarians and staff. I have been taking my cats here for almost ten years and recently helped my step-daughter by taking her dog here for dental work. Two of my cats had successful life-saving surgery here and many of them have had dental work performed, all with excellent outcomes. My step-daughter's dog was suffering from very bad gums and teeth and one week after the surgery, was like a "new dog." - happy, peppy and with sweet breath. My cats who have had the needed dental work are much more social and eating well. One of my cats was successfully treated for gall-bladder disease and is doing much better as well. They are very knowledgeable and keep up-to-date on the latest treatments and information and will take the time to listen to your concerns and explain their diagnoses and recommendations. Read Less

I have been bringing my pets to Warren Animal Hospital for 27 years and they have gone way down hill over the past several years. They used to be exceptional now they are careless. My 8 year old best friend should still be alive if they had take the time to diagnose instead of just treating the symptoms so that she would appeared better. I brought her in several times for the same symptoms and they always did the same thing. Fluids, Blood work and a vitamin shot to boost her energy. The last time they also gave her something to increase her appetite. All making her seem better. But she had an infection in her organs that burst and she became septic and past away unexpectedly and it was too late to save her. This was completely avoidable with proper care.They shouldn't be given the opportunity to do this to another family. I am heartbroken. I wish I would have not trusted them with my best friend. I cannot say enough nice things about Warren Animal Hospital, and their staff, they saved my cat and her kittens. My stray was pregnant and had given birth to 1 kitten in the early hours of Friday, 2 more were born in the early afternoon of Friday (they did not make it), she had 1 more still in her, I called around to a number of vets and emergency clinics and was told that it would cost upwards of 4500 to have a c-section to remove the last kitten. I called Warren Animal hospital at 4:50 pm in a state of panic, the staff was so kind and patient with me, got me on the phone with Dr. Zaccheo who told me to bring her in right away and they would take care of everything. I brought her in, he performed a spay, removed the kitten and I now have a happy, healthy mother cat and 2 adorable kittens. Dr. Zaccheo and his staff are wonderful. Brought my Dez down to him early on a Saturday morning for an eye issue. They did blood-work and determined that she had other issues. Hypothyriod and Diabetes were an issue. She is now on her medications and has lost some weight. She looks great and is acting like a puppy again. She is SO HAPPY all the time now that she feels good! We adopted a basset hound last year who seemed to be awfully slow to learn his name. Dr. Zaccheo quickly discovered the reason: both of Barkley's ears were severely infected and appeared to have been so for quite some time. He was nearly deaf, and there wasn't much hope of restoring his hearing, but Dr. Zaccheo worked with him weekly by cleaning his ears, trying different medications, and even surgically cleaning his ears, and after about 4 months, Barkley was responding to his name. Now that a year has passed, his hearing seems to us to be normal. Barkley loves bread and can hear a bread wrapper from anywhere in the house. Dr. Zaccheo now refers to Barkley as the "Miracle Dog." Maybe we should refer to Dr. Zaccheo as the "Miracle Vet." Read Less

A year and half ago this place was phenminal. I have many dogs and work with them. I have lived in multiple areas of nj and have been to vets from elizabeth, Millburn, summit, new prov, Berkeley heights, Clinton, Asbury. I have even worked for a vet office. And these guys I thought were the bees knees. Over the past year they have gone down hill. I got my foster dog back from boarding with them. The dog had been there numerous of times prior to this visit. When he came home he was defecting himself & hiding. When I brought him back in to them they couldn't find anything wrong but a dog doesn't just return from a boarding placing peeing and pooping himself and hiding because of nothing. They misread my personal dogs shot records and told me he didn't need a rabies shot so he went almost a year with out it. Even though at 2 vet visits I had said I think my dog is due for his rabies shot. They kept saying no no. When I was going to board him at another facility they faxed over his records and guess what? My dog was 11 months over due. Every time we go for an appointment we wait at minimum 40mins at least. But no big deal because I understand this happens at other places. Tonight they made my partner and his father wait an hour and 40 mins to put down 2 of their dogs. 1 dog who was 16yrs old dying on a bench outside with liver failure and another in poor mental health in the waiting room. We made an appt earlier in the day explaining the situation and that 1 of the dogs was dying. They said come at 430 no problem. Well I guess it was a problem for them because no one saw them until 6:05. Even though I called to speak to the manger Jessie at 5. She said oh I'm so sorry I'll make sure someone sees them right away. Obviously she was just yesing me Bc they continued to wait for another hour. When I called to speak to the owner I was told he couldn't call me back until Friday and the receptionist at the check out desk had no idea what was happening. I will never be returning to this office again. I'm not sure what happened in the last year and half to cause them to go from an A+ facility to an F with no compassion for owners or their furry family members. I never ever write reviews ever. This is my first but I want to spare anyone else this horrible ordeal we had to go through. Stay away. And if you have to put your dog down do not go to this vetinary office. Read Less

I took my elderly cat here as she was displaying some odd behavior and ended up having to put her down. Nicole and all of the staff were absolutely wonderful - they helped make a sad situation so much easier. They were truly kind and understanding. A few days later I received a "sorry for your loss" card in the mail - that has NEVER happened to me before. Hands down, this is the best vet in our entire area!!! I was happy with Dr. Nicole Zaccheo. She answered my concerns and did not talk down to me. she seemed professional and understanding. I think she is very smart and well educated. Nothing serious with my pets, just a check up and blood work. and a rabies shot of super good quality vaccine (yes, there are different grades of vaccines) and the place was clean and the staff very nice. highly recommended to me by a rescue group who also know their stuff. I had went here about a month ago to get my beagles tooth looked at who is 14 years old. The vet looked at it for literally 2 seconds and charged me $55 and then came back with an estimate of $600 and said the tooth must be pulled. We were uncomfortable and walked out. Went to another vet and he looked at it and said the tooth is strong and my dog definitely should not be put under at her age any vet knows that. Gave me antibiotics and my dog is 100% better. This vet is a disgrace and she is charging innocent people who probably doesn't know any better an unheard of amount. Luckily I know right from crazy. Even the assistant who had to present us with the estimate was hesitant to give us the estimate and you saw in her eyes she knew it was wrong. Read Less

WAH was recommended to me by a friend of the family. I dealt with the staff at this facility at least a dozen times over the past six months, not once did we have a good experience. Staff at the front desk, an older woman in particular, were very rude and made every excuse possible for their inability to do their job. Several times I called first thing in the morning for a medication refill. I was told it would be ready anytime after 2pm. When I would go to pick it up after 5pm the medications were not ready. I would then sit and wait for 30-45min for staff to prepare the medications. When my pets were seen in the office we would be there at least 1.5-2 hours, only being seen by the vet for 5-10 min. When I would call for information, different staff would give different answer. No one seemed to be educated appropriately with the exception of Dr. Zacchio, the owner. I continued going to this vet because he seemed nice and would return calls promptly when asked to. My final straw with this vet was yesterday. My cat Salem was neutered about a week ago. Over the weekend he started with symptoms of a UTI so I called the vet and left a message. I received a return call Monday morning and set up an appointment for 11am. When I arrived the staff were extremely rude in telling me they never spoke with me but would see the cat. After being called to go into the room, the rude receptionist loudly told the tech that I didn't have an appointment and no one spoke to me. I went in to the room and the male tech was polite. He took down all the information and said they would see him. He then asked who I spoke with and I told him a woman. I looked up the number and it turned out that I mistakenly called the wrong vet, I have a habit of not saving numbers in my phone. At this point he went into the back room and was gone for about 5 min. Dr. Zacchio then came in with a phone and said you can either go to that vet or talk over the phone. He was very short with me and then walked out. I was astonished that my vet was sending me somewhere else. Yes it was my mistake calling the wrong vet, however I was at their facility. In the time they took to call the other numbers they could have seen my cat, who is their patient. I ended up taking my cat to Phillipsburg animal clinic and will continue to do so. Read Less

I adopted to rescue cats who were given to me as "healthy cats". 2 very beautiful and well mannered maine coons names Bernard and Ojo I I brought them home and took them to the vet to get there nails clipped and there tongues were hanging out. I thought knowing nothing about cats that is was something with the breed. It turned out that they both had severe gum disease and were in a lot of pain. Then two amazing things happened I went back to the adoption agency and they hooked me up with this hospital. There was no charge to me and both cats had dental surgery to removed all there teeth. This sounds painful but to keep there teeth would have been a life of pain and misery and yes they can still eat hard food. They are now happy and healthy and doing very very well. The male Benard is acting as though is back in his kitten days. If it weren't for the fast actions of the Rescue center F.U.R.R and this hospital and there fabulous Dr's my cats would not have the happy turn out they do.. SO THANK YOU!! Read Less

Excellent vets & staff! Knowledgeable, skillful, compassionate, understanding -- so glad this practice was recommended to me. They saved the life of one of our dogs (sudden extremely serious immune reaction), they are kind to all of us, and we plan to stay with them for as long as we have pets.Not sure why there are any negative reviews. I don't believe any of the folks we've dealt with could behave in such cold or rude ways. Perhaps the negative reviewers are confusing Warren Animal Hospital with one of the other area vets? We have been doing business with Warren Animal Hospital since I was young (35 years). My dad and I took our three dogs when ever they needed shots , spaying or what ever the reason, We had very good service. The place has been like a family to us. We had to have our dogs put to sleep because of illnesses and the bedside mannor was extremely good. You know when you are sad and tears are approaching? Well Dr Zaccheo was like a family member, you know, like when your dad puts his arm around you and talks to you, discussing the process of the illness, optional treatment and you just leave with a full heart. I went here to get my dog spayed and I agree with the other person who had written a response. I never met the vet! The staff behind the desk was extremely rude! After my dog had it's post visit check up they told me to sit down. I waited for about 20 minutes, wached several people come and go. So I decided to ask if they were ready for me, or if i had missed my name being called. A rude younger woman with dark blonde hair said, ""Sit down, we'll call you."" So i waited another 20 minutes, spoke with several people in the waiting room. Again watched them go in for the apt. then leave. One man couldn't believe I was still there. Finally, I got up again, and before I could get a word out of my mouth the woman said, I didn't call you. At that point I had had enough, I said, ""I was your second client today and have been sitting out in the waiting room for over 40 minutes and have seen many people come and go, i do not understand why i am still waiting."" She, in a mean voice said, fine... called someone in the back and said, ""oh you can go"". I will never go back there again. Read Less
